Revisionist history, international maniputalion on a gigantic level, Illuminati, 'Foo fighters', the greatest unsolved bank robbery in history, body doubles, and Solomon's treasure: all of this will gladden the hearts of conspiracy theorists, but there's lots here for everyone and much is disturbing. Mr Marrs' basic premise: some well-heeled Nazi's survived WW II, used their connections, as well as their scientific expertise and appropriated loot to promote rich lifestyles, and insinuate themselves into high tech corporations and governments. Worst still, Mr Marrs asserts that maybe some really big Nazi (a word derived from National Socialism) leaders had access to amazing technology and could have escaped with it. He feels we are now using some of their old tactics, discoveries, and philosophies to implement US policy based by the merging of government and corporations, to the detriment of individualism. Scary indeed when one considers which of the two is calling the shots. But can it be true? And then he goes into various shadowy European and American organizations who sought and are still seeking unconditional power and control through various business networks and governmental operations. He reveals Project Paperclip where the USA imported thousands of 'useful' former Nazis to the US with little or no knowledge by our citizens. Beyond this, Nazis set up front companies in Argentina, Sweden, Switzerland (more than 200 companies), Portugal, Spain, and Turkey, among others. One of the most fascinating chapters is called "Nazi Wonder Weapons" which is full of guided missiles, early television, plastics, the possibility of the A bomb, early computers, quantum mechanics, and high tech assertions that frankly are quite shocking. I'll let the reader discover the two biggest of the Nazi discoveries, as described by Mr Marrs. Did the Germans have nukes? And have world governments kept us in the dark about many well-known historical events?
  
  Despite what some may feel about Mr Marrs' previous works, I do believe he's onto something with regard to the hidden Nazi history of world corporations, power, and political ideologies, especially with regard to 'war'. Big corporations, according to this book, have been forming non-political alliances that have been funding the war machines of opposing countries and alliances. The ties between world politics and big business are revealing: for example, Leon Trotsky was living on the grounds of Standard Oil in New Jersey, rent free, in 1917 just before returning to Russian to help depose the czar, with Wall Street bankers and wealthy Brits and Germans funding that Bolshevik triumph. Another stunning assertion is that "globalists" fearlessly funded and manipulated both sides of the overall conflict between communism and western nations for their own financial benefit from the very beginning, even to the point of determining who should "lose the war". And based on these successes, Mr Marrs says these globalists are now funding the new Nazi philosophy and rising activities of "the fourth reich". The influence of the "the ends justify the means" Illuminati, freemasonry, and even Yale's Skull and Bones are playing major roles in today's activities. Only in "Ratlines" does Mr Marrs falter, after building a case for the ruthlessness and inventiveness of the Nazis, he would have us believe various religious personnel could have actually denied the Nazis anything. There are also unflattering characterizations of Charles Lindbergh, John Foster Dulles, William Randolph Hearst, the Rockefellers, Pope Pius XII, Winston Churchill, Prescott Bush, Joseph P. Kennedy, IBM, ITT, Ford Motor Company, Standard Oil, and DuPont. This is a challenging book with a disturbing alternate historical version of the last 100 years: believe it or not!!   The information in this book in incredible. Finally we get to see those behind the scenes who controlled every aspect of the war and afterwards.Businessmen & bankers whose names most of know but whose deeds were not. Anyone interested in WW II or politics & business should read this book as it reflects the conditions in the world today. The details about the flight of Hess to Britain for peace talks and that the Soviets were preparing to attack Europe was very interesting.

  Jim Marrs has made a fine career out of repackaging the "revelations" of Milton William Cooper's 1991 conspiracy classic "Behold a Pale Horse."
  
  In "Fourth Reich," much of the alien agenda-UFO storyline found in "Pale Horse" and later in several of Mr Marrs' books is reprised in the context of the Nazis (who were plenty spooky enough without dragging in extraterrestrials).
  
  Mr Marrs, like many another conspiracy author, conflates hearsay evidence and speculation, salted with historical fact ("Operation Paperclip" for example) to advance the thesis that an elite group of wealthy and powerful internationalists is working toward a brave new world of global enslavement. Their plot necessarily requires the destruction of America.
  
  In order to sell this idea, one must ascribe near-superhuman powers and ironclad discipline to the evil plotters. It doesn't hurt, either, to claim that the plotters have access to supernatural mental states, alien technology, and, what the hell, near omniscience.
  
  But you don't need a conspiracy to explain this stuff. Hey, Jim, ever heard of Adam Smith's "invisible hand?" People are greedy for power, for control, for genetic hegemony. The result is "history": chaotic when viewed up close, not centrally planned, yet oddly serendipitous and somehow patterned.
  
  Sure, the Nazis and/or their ideological heirs are with us today. We know that for the Nazi leadership, losing the combat phase of the struggle was a setback but not the end. They had a plan. Martin Bormann, and possibly Heinrich Himmler, both escaped, with plenty of money, technical expertise, and an underground organization intact. We know that industrialists in America, Britain and elsewhere favored National Socialism (it was neither truly socialist nor entirely nationalist) before the war --- and after --- because it harnessed the power of the state to further their commercial goals. After the war, these industrialists used Nazi scientists and spies in the fight against communism. The marriage or remarriage of these groups led ultimately to a silent coup against the US government by the so-called neoconservatives (again, they are neither new nor conservative).
  
  Unfortunately, Mr Marrs' digressions into UFOs and the rest undermines, for the conventional reader, his credibility. And that is a pity, because the danger to American democracy is very real.

• Much is Excellent, But Open to Severe Criticisms

  Author Marrs's premise that the US is rapidly becoming a fascist state is hardly open to question any more, but his pointing to Nazi Germany as the origin of this trend misses the mark. Nonetheless, this book is a valuable read for all, regardless of the reader's political persuasion or positioning on the left or right.
  
  Unfortunately the author damages his work as early as in his Introduction with false facts. For example, on page 1 he states that the bodies of Mussolini and his mistress "were left hanging from lampposts." Actually they were hung by their heels from the canopy of a gasoline station in Milan. On page two, Hitler's remains were found by the Soviets, positive identification was made from dental records, and part of Hitler's skull was retained by Stalin as a war souvenir. The two pages about Hitler's possible escape are pure fantasy and at odds with documented history. Even his definition of terms is poor, for example the term "Nazi" is not a contraction from "National Socialist" but rather the first two syllables of "Nationalsozialismus" (one word) pronounced in German as Na-tsi (National is pronounced Na-tsi-oo-nal in four syllables). I could go on and on, but suffice it to say, the author plays fast and loose with some facts to spice up his theme when no spicing is needed, and such lack of historical scholarship calls his other facts into question.
  
  Another example might be made of the Skull and Bones Society at Yale. Certainly this was an organization whose members were drawn into the Bilderbergs, Trilateral Commission and Council on Foreign Relations, but casting this college society as a fascist conspiracy group is like condemning the Boy Scouts or DeMolay for the evils some of their members bring about in later years.
  
  Nonetheless, author Marr does identify the most terrifying secret group today that is likely to bring an end to American sovereignty -- the Bilderbergs (B), supported by their agents The Round Table in Europe, and the Trilateral Commission (TC) and the Council on Foreign Relations (CFR) here in the US. These groups are well documented for wishing to end American national sovereignty, imposing global taxes, and wanting to reduce the American standard of living to come into line with the world's average. They have achieved the European Union, and their next step is to form a North American Union out of Canada, the US, and Mexico with a standard currency, the Amero. These programs are very far advanced, and the public needs to take action at this very late date. Marr correctly points out that private ownership of weapons in the US acts as a significant curb to these ambitions as does the history of individual freedom in the US.
  
  Marr loses his way in attempting to pin the actions of these groups on Nazis or their influence. Like the Bolshevik revolutionaries, many of the individuals actively working to foster this new One World Order are Jewish (Kissinger immediately comes to mind) -- something that puts them at odds with Hitler's racial underpinning of his state. In addition, Hitler would have maintained his nation-state as the supreme body for world leadership -- today the One World Order types seek a Supra-National Socialist (or Supra-Nazi) world governing body, controlled by them through the management of the political process and public-private partnerships (PPPs). Marrs is correct in his descriptions of these PPP organizations and how the corporate and political worlds are managed by the globalists.
  
  Marr correctly points out that Jimmy Carter was the first President to be catapulted from obscurity by the Trilateral Commission and the Bilderbergs by Zbigniew Brzezinski and David Rockefeller. He also is correct in that the Reagan Presidency was managed to an extreme by these organizations, as were the first Bush administration (Bush himself was a member of all three), Clinton's (Bill is also a member of all three), George W. Bush (essentially everyone below Bush are members, and most disconcerting, Obama has been stage-managed from 1983 by Brzezinski and others, and is little more than a front man for the Bilderbergs. That's why Bill Clinton became so enraged when he saw the Bilderberg and TC support go to Obama instead of his wife -- she was considered to be less manageable than Obama. Kerry was also a Bilderberg, and indeed, so is Chris Dodd, one of the architects of the mortgage mess and Henry Paulson, the man who will be transferring 700 billion dollars from American taxpayers to his Bilderberg buddies. For those who still have doubts concerning this manipulation, consider the Bilderberg action when the gasoline prices reached $4.00 at the pump and McCain began surging in the polls due to his energy policies. The Bilderbergs took swift action in the oil futures market as only they could do, and three months later, high gasoline prices have been forgotten as an economic issue. Hey, folks, that's control that would be far beyond Hitler's comprehension.
  
  So buy and read this book, but soft peddle the Hitler connection. The actual reality is much worse, and probably irreversible due to the propaganda taught in American schools since World War II and sent out every day on American TV stations. For your viewing pleasure, all of the major media outlets (including Fox -- Murdock is a Bilderberg) are owned or controlled by Bilderberg members. You'll never hear O'Reilly or Hannity on Fox mention the Bilderbergs, Bill Moyers at PBS is PBS's primary Bilderberg member, and the New York Times and Washington Post are little more than Bilderberg house organs. Enjoy yourself -- it's later than you think.

For example, I agree 911 was a conspiracy by people within our own government, but I cannot buy his Nazi thesis. If it were true, why do the powers that be allow all this ethnic immigration across our borders? Why is it okay to celebrate every culture except white culture? The Neocons who control Bush and who are preparing to control McCain ala his future national security adviser, Randy Scheunemann, aren't Nazi's, they're juwish. The only national socialist philosophy in existence with any economic clout today is Zionism. As Ralph Nader pointed out, everyday we give 6.5 million dollars of hard working Americans to Israel. And it was Israeli's who were equipped with an enormous amount of film equipment in advance of 911 so that they could film it as it happened. As senator Paul Findley pointed out, the juwes are the only people not implicated in the Kennedy assassination even though Jack Ruby, Abraham Zapruder, Arlen Spector and a host of others and so on all were involved in one way or another to cover it up. It was Israeli nationals who were traveling down the I-5 freeway in the state of Washington in the Northwest carrying a U-haul truck full of explosives. It was Israeli's who were spying on our own government and trafficking drugs during the Bush administration as reported by Brit Hume and Carl Cameron. The media, film industry and all three major publishers are juwes, not Nazi's. When Opie and Anthony indulged in the same potty mouth talk that Howard Stern has indulged in for decades, the FCC immediately shut them down. Double standard? When Sarah Silverman, Adrew Dice Clay (Silverstein) or Kathy Griffin express hatred of Christians we're supposed to respect their freedom of speech. However, when Mel Gibson makes intelligent criticisms of juwes, they scream anti-semitic and demand public apologies. You can be disbarred in the legal profession if you're anti-semitic, but Geoffrey Fieger (of Kevorkian notoriety) can rant and rave how he hates Christians and is made a special guest of the American Bar Association. There is not one Irish or Italian in Harvard Law school even though the entire community it is located in is Irish and Italian. Alan Dershowitz actually thinks juwes have superior intellects than Europeans according to his book the Vanishing American Juwe. Newton, Michelangelo, Cicero, Gauss, Euler, Henry Ford, Galois and so on are conveniently ignored. I just don't see the genius in Bob Dylan, Franz Kafka, the three Stooges or Chagall. Yet, only a racial ideology would dare claim genius in spite of this pathetic resume.   The premise of "The Rise of the Fourth Reich" is that since the end of World War II, the wealthy elite have been using corporations and secret societies to manipulate the American government into creating a fascist nation whose characteristics are becoming more and more similar to those of National Socialist (Nazi) Germany. The new fascist nation of America is what Marrs calls the "Fourth Reich" or fourth empire. Marrs refers to the wealthy elite as "globalists" who use their wealth to gain power through the ownership and control of the world's resources; Marrs defines "fascism" as the merger of state and corporate power.
  
  Marr's book covers some of the following topics: the rise of Nazi philosophy and the fascist system of control in Germany (Third Reich) following WW1; the influence by secret and occult societies (Freemasonry, Illuminati, Knights Templar, Skull and Bones); the political and financial power of German corporations and banks, and their interconnecting ties with the rest of Europe, England and America; the leading edge science and technology of Nazi Germany (atomic bomb, cancer cure, flying saucers, time travel, mind control); the discovery of Solomon's Treasure in Southern France in 1944; the well-planned escape of key Nazi's after WWII with assistance from the Vatican and Latin America; the use of the stolen loot of Europe to set up businesses around the world which would later be used to rebuild Germany, and invest in America; the procurement of leading German scientists after WWII to be employed in American industries (military, industrial, chemical, pharmaceutical, Space Race); the rising influence of Nazi Fascism on America today; how corporate directives are being used to shape government policies on guns, drugs, eugenics, religion, education, and public control; how information becomes propaganda when it is controlled by government and corporations, and disseminated by a subservient and unquestioning media owned and controlled by the globalists.
  
  Marrs writing style is clear, concise, and to the point. His research is extensive as he cites over 900 sources in this book. The Rise of the Fourth Reich is well worth reading but has the following drawbacks:
  1. To the uninitiated, one may get the impression from Marrs book that America is completely under the control of Nazi sympathizers, or that fascism is the only ideology and system at work in America. In this regard, Marrs book is misleading. The simple definition of fascism is state control. Marrs redefines it here as the merger of state and corporate control. But many would argue that what the globalists are promoting is corporate control of state and people, or "corporatism".
  2. It is hard to understand how Marrs could focus solely on the rising influence of Nazi Fascism on America, without simultaneously comparing it with the rising influence of Zionism on America during the same period. While Marrs describes the globalists as supporters of communism, nazism, and fascism, he fails to mention that they are also supporters of zionism. The point being that all of these ideologies are strategic tools the globalists use to further their goals.
  3. Marrs must be aware that America is being used by the globalists to achieve their goal of a "new world order". American military strength which includes the deployment of nuclear weapons to NATO partners, and an "ends justify the means" philosophy disguised as foreign policy, is being used to ensure that the other nations of the world fall into compliance. Of course, America will eventually have to submit to the global power of the new world order as well. To ensure American compliance, the globalists will use the same ideologies to try and destabilize America, including the current growing threat of economic and financial disaster, and even nuclear war.
  4. While the concept of a "new world order" is not something to be feared, the organizations that would use it for there own evil purpose need to be exposed and removed from power. If the new world order comes about, and it is likely that it will, it will be up to the people of the world to ensure that it happens for reasons beneficial to all.

  I am glad to see another great book authored by Jim Marrs. This book is well researched, as are all of his previous books. If you liked his earlier works, then you will like this. Don't pay attention to the negative reviews on here. None of them address any of the actual material in the book. Starchild22's review is ridiculous. He obviously is not familiar with Jim Marrs' books. Marrs provides an extensive list of sources for each chapter. You can check up on his work if you so wish.

  Conspiracies everywhere! Jim Marrs' The Rise of the Fourth Reich is a compendium of the fascinating, weird, strange, and outright bizarre facts concerning the esoteric world of conspiracies. Mr. Marrs touches all the conspiracy bases from the Kennedy assassination, the Jesus mysteries, the occult, UFOs, secret WW2 weapons and science, secret societies, to escaped Nazis who formed the basis of today's American space program, business and finance . Using National Socialism and the cult of Nazism as his reference point, Mr. Marrs pretty well covers every modern day conspiracy and history mystery. It is truly amazing how much conspiratorial information Mr. Marrs was able to jam into 376 pages.
  Whether you believe all, some, or any of this stuff doesn't really matter as this is simply a fun and interesting read. Think of it as the ultimate conspiracy encyclopedia and then sit back and have some reading fun.
  It is interesting to note how many of these conspiracies have found their way into today's contemporary novels. If nothing else reading Mr. Marrs work will give you a better understanding of many of the provocative books of today. And yes, he even touches on Mr. Brown's The Da Vinci Code mystery.
  
  
  
• Entertaining and Regrettably NOT Unbelievable

  I read this book in a weekend and couldn't bring myself to put it down. The case made by the author at first seems like fantastic fiction, but alarmingly, as the chapters begin to relate to events closer to current history you begin to feel the rug being pulled out from underneath you.
  
  If I had a criticism it would be that, although the author convincingly shows how elements of Nazism splintered, survived, flourished, made inroads as well as became absorbed by various American institutions; he conflicts with his own argument stating that National Socialism is the danger, while simultaneously, Plutocratic Interests also are the danger. It can be followed that one begat the other, they developed along separate paths and intertwined at some later point. Marrs keeps citing that one is the issue, yet both are competing conspiracies or more likely one dominant and one subordinate.
  
  I enjoyed this book immensely for it's odyssey on "what is wrong with America and how we got here", particularly for all the ground he covers. I think everyone should read this (at a minimum) just for the challenging ideas it presents. I felt it plugged up a lot of holes in my historical vocabulary.

  This book is extensively sourced and footnoted, making it easy enough to verify the allegations for yourself if you are so inclined. I took a few weeks to go through this book and was able to trace many of the key assertions. Sadly, the Bush Administration has moved us closer to National Socialism than I would have thought possible and the current Wall Street bailout stands as stark evidence to this fact. From the structure or our educational system to the use of propaganda, our country is moving in a direction that our Founding Fathers would not have expected or supported. If you approach this book with an open mind, you will learn a great deal. The author's writing style is clear, lucid and entertaining. Prepare to be shocked and appalled.

  This book is a fast read, and is packed with documented and referenced work. It is also a very scary look at what is or has happened. Is this country a fascist state? The answers point that it is. The Patriot Act, and the suspension of habeas corpus show it has at least started. The Nazi scientists and many of the higher ranking officers escaped justice and were given entrance to the US and Argentina.
  Jim Marrs weaves a great book with many different angles. Even the famed treasure of the Knights Templar is included, along with Hitler's fascination with all things occult. A must read for Jim Marrs fans, and a much easier book to follow for those interested in this subject.

  I have read most of Mr. Marrs' books and have found them all to be well thought out, somewhat unbiased and well written. There is an obvious large amount of research and detail that has gone into the writing of all his works. The Rise of The Fourth Reich gives great background accounts leading up to present day America starting from pre-WW II and the rise of the original Third Reich. Mr Marrs has given, what seems accurate detail and substantiated accounts, that many Nazi's, including Hitler, escaped death and thrived all over the world post WW II. Much of our country's policies and motives could very well be linked to this subtle, shadow Nazi influence. You decide for yourself.
  
  The Nazi influence can be traced back to rise of the party in Germany with the help of prominent American elite families. Their motives appear to have been the root of all "evile" as with most things:monetary. Whether you are an avid conspiracy buff or just want to see a different side to the story, you must admit that Mr Marrs presents a a well thought out, rational case explaining the methods and reasons why world events happening right now seem to be unfolding at a rapid pace.
  
  National Socialism may indeed be happening in the US right now. Our individual freedoms seem to be taken away day-by-day in small unoticeable amounts until one day we wake up and find out that George Orwell was right on the money and 1984 is here (again).
  
  I encourage people to read this book and also "Rule By Secrecy" and form their own opinions. • Jim Marrs does it again

  If you can say anything about Jim Marrs, it's that he's an "old school" writer/reporter. He really digs into his subject matter, and not just with a small spade. He uses an earthmover.
  
  He presents a very compelling scenario that could, or could not be true. That is up to you to decide, however seeing the current state of affairs, one could certainly see how it could be true.
  
  I enjoyed the read, it cross-referenced many other books I've read, and some I've yet to read. Lots of information, referenced, indexed, and bibliographed. . like I said, the guy uses an earth mover. .

  I havent fully finished the book but it is hard to put it down. Ive read much of this info in other sources as well and beleive it to be true based on my studies thru the years.. At first it is very troubling to find so much disception in high places and such arrogance in the elites and powerbrokers who pull the strings seemingly whichever way they want but in the final analysis as a christian i still beleive and find comfort in the fact that God is ultimately in control and the powergrabbing filthy rich control freaks will be frustrated and thwarted if not in this life then in the one to come.. Hitler just knew his 3rd reich would last 1000 years and it only lasted about 20 years, yes the seeds live on and find fertile soil to grow in , sometimes in the most unlikely places..the earth is full of wheat and tares, this book is a chronicle of such...

  Jim Marrs is an excellent author. The topics discussed are referenced, so you can research them yourself and get an even more complete view of the situation. The subject may be disturbing to some, but the facts are often that way. Couple this with Dark Mission by Richard Hoagland and SS Brotherhood of the Bell by Philip Carlo, I believe, and an interesting picture comes into view. Must read material for those interested in the machinery of current corporate America.
