  • Hot Chicks use THIS Language?

    By A1CIN7RRXTUXFN on 2008-02-18
Although there is some good nutritional advice, I was totally turned off by the frequent use of the F word and constant allusions to oral sex. Can't a Hot Chick also be ladylike in language? Being sultry and angelic both -- now that's Hot!! A little mystery Please!!! Sorry I bought the book!!

  • No need for the F-bomb.

    By APONI724XCXFQ on 2008-02-13
I enjoyed the advice in this book and found it useful. However, I don't get the need for using the f-word ever other page or so. I would have liked my teen-age daughters to read this, as well as the girls in my book club, but I can't recommend to either because of the raunchy language. I realize the authors are younger and probably targeting that age-group, but in my opinion, you are failing to reach a broader audience because of the offensive choice of words.

  • I love this book

    By A1U4MOVOZEAXNP on 2008-01-04
This book is amazing! I can't stand watching the news programs every night talking about the newest do's and don't's for eating. These two smart ladies know how to cut through the b.s. and get to the heart of the matter. I agreed with everything they said. I thought I was pretty hip to all the bad things to eat out there, but these two are on it. I will never even think of getting my daily chai tea latte, talk about hidden calories yikes! I can't wait for the next book. You go girls!

  • Not only did I LMAO, I learned some behavior modification tips as well...

    By A24XMANJ339ZSW on 2008-01-07
This book is a riot! I picked it up on a whim at a bookstore, not really expecting to buy it, but after reading through the first chapter during my study break, I KNEW that I had to take this book home with me! I love the writing style of the authors---and aside from being totally outrageous with their delivery, everything that they suggests makes sense! There is nothing "Mary Kate" about this book (read the book if you want to know what 'Mary Kate" means)----it's a good read, particularly for those of us OWLs (smile).

  • Great read!

    By A1JZZ535XORYXP on 2007-12-28
Great read over the holidays, particulary with all the calorie intake! Glamorous authors who know what's hot and how to look good. I'm changing my diet!

  • Very Entertaining, Lighthearted, & FUN
    By A2PNDD3TBT76Z6 on 2007-12-31
How to Eat Like a Hot Chick is an extremely engaging read. Often, I'd find myself rushing through my daily activities in order to make time to read another chapter. As a self-proclaimed health nut, I knew most of the scientific information presented, however the way in which the material is displayed is the main attraction of this "Hot" book. Jodi and Cerina definitely had me laughing my way through each page, and I thoroughly enjoyed their relative disregard for seriousness. Definitely a great - and entertaining - read for twenty-somethings, as well as others. I have already highly recommended this book to my friends (not as a subtle hint...), and recommend it to anyone on the fence about the purchase. One final thought:
How to Eat Like a Hot Chick bestows upon its audience a refreshingly casual and light-hearted approach to a typically frightening topic. The book is packed with real-life tips, and acknowledges real-life situations rather than assuming its readers to be automatons ready to give up their social lives for health. I really wish I personally knew Jodi and Cerina because they seem like two fun, laid-back, realistic - and hot - chicks! Thanks for a great book! x0

I want you to know how much I enjoy your book. I love the cover ~ timeless! I love the reading material and how it is presented. It makes me laugh, it educates me and best of all ~ it inspires me. Why? It is the way your book speaks to me. Like a big sister, a best friend. I have actually bonded with you in this way. Weird! but very Hot!!!! I have read many books over the years and this is the first one that made perfect sense to me. I look forward to more of your writings! Good luck with this book and stay Hot!!!

  • There should be a warning label
    By A2L96DPZWHJMHT on 2008-01-17
Speaking from someone who has done extensive research in nutrition, dieting and exercise I found this book very basic. I bought it in the hope that is would boost my confidence no matter what my weight was as long as I was being good to my body. I dreaded the thought of going on another diet and living the rest of my life with constant sacrifice. It is not a terrible book but if you are looking to gain knowledge forget about it. If you want motivation, that won't really happen either. You might as well go to the supermarket and pick up a good health mag. I will say every couple pages I felt a bit entertained that is until I was let down again by the foul language-it is definitely not for the Christian. On the bright side I bought one other book basically to take advantage of my Amazon Prime Membership and recieve free shipping on my $25 order and it was part of the buy both deals and that book is an excellent read it is called:The Skinny: How to fit in your little black dress forever knowledge still basic but it is fun and witty and will help you feel like you can eat and be sexy at the same time, whether you are having pizza or salad.

  • awesome book! Really!
    By A1ZC3FAD1EFZJ7 on 2008-01-16
Oh my gosh!! I LOVED this little gem of a book! Irreverant, timely, relevant, canny but NOT snarky....sarcastic but in a fun, relatable way..I can't say enough good things about this book! I laughed out loud, literally, at many parts...and I was in a dr's office waiting room, no less! I must say, the book's cover illustration ( sexy pin-up girl) got it's own share of looks and positive ( flirt= hot chick) comments! I found myself for days and weeks afterwards asking myself "ok..now, what would a hot chick do/eat?" whenever in a food or restaurant situation! None of the advice is silly, incidentally..it's all very iron-clad in its praticality, nutrition and common-sense wise..but it makes your " diet" a much more sexy and fun endeavor! Really! It works! makes SO much sense! Maybe thats becuase I love spinach and always have...but, trust me, this is NOT a 'diet' book. Its a FUN book, full of woman- positive , fun hints and tips that truly WILL make you change how you feel about what you choose to eat! BUY this book! Its awesome!! It doesnt preasch, and it doesnt make you feel like you should be a size 4. It just makes you realize that whatever you put IN your body is a choice, and those choices show up on your outsides........I LOVED this book and plan on buying copes for all my female pals!

  • Everything The Book " Skinny Bitch" Was Suppose To Be And Better!
    By A2YZS4AVH78KPX on 2008-03-07
This book reminds me of the book Skinny Bitch ,but for people who are not vegan or vegetarian. And unlike like the book Skinny Bitch these women in this book are not mean, rude,or up there own bum snobs who tell you your this and that if your not a vegan or vegetarian.Thats just my oppinion. It is like talking to a close girlfriend. Its not a serious hardcore diet book. There down to earth women with good advice about eating and what to eat. There sweet and funny and they give good advice. It is a fairly quick read i think. Either that or i was so into it i could not put it down till i was finished lol I recommend this book highly. Especially to anyone who bought the book Skinny Bitch and was let down. This book is everything Skinny Bitch was suppose to be like, but wasnt.

  • Hmm...
    By A3LUV6T799NHJ6 on 2007-12-31
How hot is it to credit a Marianne Williamson quote to Nelson Mandela?

But otherwise it's an engaging, if occasionally condescending read, with good advice about watching what you eat without obsessing, as well as a reminder that we're all potential hot chicks.

  • A little crude but full of some great advice!
    By A18TLHWKGN600X on 2008-02-02
How to Eat Like a Hot Chick is a very engaging read. I found myself making extra time each day to read it. It has some excellent advice and little tips well worth trying - like fennel tea - and yes it works! It is also a highly entertaining read. I came across it in a bookstore, had a peek inside and had to buy it. Definitely a must read!

It is typically targeted at Generation Y, but the advice would benefit most.

However, some readers may be offended by the frequent bad language and constant references to sex. If this is not an issue, I say go ahead: You will be glad you read it!

  • Don't like it at all
    By A9XDH5JSVDUF8 on 2008-02-23
Although the book is funny and easy to read, there is no real scientific basis for the authors views. It is a good book if the reader is just looking for women's views and not for a particular diet. There are other more helpful books on healthy eating and healthy living to chose.

  • Informative and easy to follow but tries to hard
    By A15OQA8JYNOYRP on 2008-03-20
I found the actual information to be pretty helpful and to the point, but still basic diet info you can find in any diet book. The recipes they give are pretty tasty and easy to follow, However the book does use alot of sex slang and potty mouth terms, if you are into that it wont bother you much and you may even find it a bit funny and at times cocky, however if you are a good girl it will probably shock you and bother you a bit. Sometimes I feel it is pretty funny and the references to pop culture make it interesting over reading a blagh and boring diet book however at times the authors seem a bit bitchy and snotty and maybe even as if they are trying to hard to act tough and "sex in the city like". There is a fine line between confidence and being cocky and I think they blur the two at different points in the book. Still if you want an easy read on diet info with a bit of humor and style I would recommend it, however if you arent use to swearin sailors and sexual inuendos I'd snag a different read.

  • One of the Best Books I've Ever Read!
    By A3HI2F9KLIVX1F on 2008-01-14
This is a great book! I read it in one day and I already feel so much better about myself. I wanted some motivation to start a better lifestyle and this helped immensely. It's fun to read, like talking with your best friend and it's so helpful. I'm such a picky eater but it makes me want to try new foods, which is a miracle on its own. These authors are geniuses and I hope to read more from them soon!

  • Love it, Live it!
    By A31NVL7WV4WUM4 on 2008-01-16
This book is a great motivational read for a new start for the new year. It's like having a conversation with your best girlfriend. She wants the best for you AND wants you to ENJOY your life.

  • Life changing
    By A21YV0QMUH6JI5 on 2008-01-27
I happened to pick this book up cause i loved the cover photo..i read a page and couldnt put it down..its like all the things that you should think would be common sense..it was funny, it was blunt and it was all true..its not your average diet book, theres nothing that tells you what you can and cannot eat (in ways there are but in smart ways)...i have never read anything that made me want to change my life..i finished this book and i cant wait to wake up tomorrow and start a new life and a new way of thinking...cause im a hot chick...peace, love and a pound of spinach

  • Fun, Real advice, for REAL WOMEN!
    By AKZPEUO2V0J8J on 2008-02-24
I travel all over the US for my job. Sticking to any kind of "diet" just doesn't work. Who can seriously give up all forms of alcohol when you have been on 6 airplanes in one day? I laughed and felt amazing after this quick read. I keep it in my briefcase now, and YES! I have been eating a ton of spinach. Real advice for making better, healthier food and drink choices, all the while reminding us that we are fabulous, and Hot. FYI, I own every single diet book, Adkins, South Beach, 5 Factor, Body for Life, David Kirsch...etc...you name it. I can actually use and follow the guidelines in this book without carrying my George Foreman around in my suitcase. I am SO glad that it has some "tough love" in it, because ladies, we all need to hear it: Can't eat crap and not work out and wonder why we have the jiggles all over. I read it all the time to keep all my "LSE" thoughts at bay, and I don't feel guilty about eating chocolate chip cookies right out of the oven....I just eat a bunch of spinach afterwards :)

  • A Must Read for all Women with a Sense of Humor
    By A3KNY4C0I6KFAF on 2008-02-29
This is a great book. So many of us judge ourselves by how much we weigh and this book helps you to realize your hotness at any weight. I have recommended it to all the women in my family and all of my friends and even bought it for several of them. It is extremely funny and I keep reading it over and over.

  • Loved it!
    By AVTJ5J6JGDB3N on 2008-03-05
Finally, a book that speaks to me and my sense of humor! I felt like I was reading a book that a friend wrote specifically for me! I don't think I have ever laughed so much while reading a book that I bought in the "diet" section. I feel so empowered after reading this book. I will for sure recommend this book to my friends (although not the religious ones.)

  • Warning! This book is terrible!
    By A15NNQ260TFX2H on 2008-08-25
I bought this book, on an impulse, as a companion book to SKINNY BITCH. Big mistake. Unlike SKINNY BITCH, this book is a mess. For starters, it advises the reader to drink lots of diet soda, explaining, "...yeah, we know it causes cancer, but it has zero calories so drink up!" Worse, the writers then go on to advise eating ice cream cones and french fries, but NOT yogurt! Huh??? What kind of inane advice this this??? The problem is these two women, one of whom is a "journalist" and the other an actress, have no idea what they're talking about, a fact they try to disguise by talking about sex. A lot. I wasted $13.95 on this drivel! Don't make the same mistake I did.

  • Engaging, Funny, and Motivating!
    By A3EBCG319SGYUJ on 2008-03-03
I got this as a gift from a friend for my birthday, and I was of course planning to start yet another diet as my age changed, but after readig this book, I don't just want to diet, I want to change my life!

Not only was the book hilarious more then once a chapter, but it's incredibly helpful! I'm always such an LSE (see book for def), and never even really think about it... But the second I started acting and treating myself like a hot chick, that's what everyone around me started treating me as! And I'm well over the normal weight for my height!

  • The Woman's Bible!!!!!
    By A21XYE4K4SJ00M on 2008-04-07
This book was fantastic! I loved every word. It makes you feel so confident and sets you up to make easy and good choices. The best part is that you feel like a Hot Chick right from the beginning! It's like listening to your best girlfriend tell you about something that really works! I love these co-authors and would love to read anything else they come out with! Well done ladies!!!

  • Breakthrough!
    By A2YRMVLWC2I40L on 2008-05-23
I noticed this book when I order the book Hungry Girl. I received this book first in the mail. I read it in less than a day! It's completely the first time I started from the beginning and read all the way through. It was captivating and hilarious in the delivery of the text!! So down to earth it was like you are talking to your best friend. I read that on a lot of the reviews and it couldn't be more true. I also think now when I go to order something...would that be something a Hot Chick would put into her mouth? The nutrition was basic, but that's all I needed. I've received tons of receipes and proper ways to make things... But really what I needed was the push that it's okay to have an off day, just get back up and stick with it. Great work ladies!

  • great read
    By ARV9WOYRLXXSJ on 2008-05-31
This is a fun book, the language is R rated, but it makes a lot of sense.

  • informative and so much fun
    By A2GVT10WJOHWBL on 2008-07-25
I loved reading this book. It taught me a lot about food and also made me laugh. I would recommend it to anyone trying to change the way they eat and live.

  • Have read enough in the sample exerpt....
    By A23RMCMVQMHQGE on 2008-09-11
...to know that this is a waste of time and money. If you want someone's opinion about what SHE does to stay slim (I get asked this ALL the time since I'm 5'10" and 130 pounds...as if there's some magic secret that has not yet been discovered), then you'd be just as well off to start asking friends, neighbors, colleagues and strangers what they like to eat. The "advice" will be just as valuable as anything you're going to find in this book.

The first red flag about their cluelessness was at the beginning of the sample text selection, wherein the authors stated "...it's okay to eat something retarded in the morning." Helllooo?? I can only imagine what parents, friends, and family of developmentally challlenged individuals think when they see that.

But I continued reading, nonetheless, to see what guidance and pearls of dietary wisdom they might impart. Basically, they're just chatting about what they--with no apparent special knowledge, qualifcations or nutritional training--do, and give basic advice that you'd find in any free magazine or newspaper column (avoid artificial, empty-calorie foods, etc. etc.).

I can give more effective advice, for free, in one sentence: go vegan, try to limit your food to organic as much as possible, limit calories to 1000/day, take high-quality supplements, and exercise regularly.

  • I Now Eat Like A Hot Chick Daily (well, I try!)
    By AZ8FKG82QR8JD on 2008-09-16
How To Eat Like a Hot Chick!

While perusing the aisles of the Beverly Hills library, I came across this most fabulous book!
"How to Eat Like a Hot Chick," was written by a NY publishing maven and a Los Angeles actress. Now, before stereotypes of this or that come crashing into your head like the memory of last night's Mud Slide you had before sinking into a puddle beneath somebody's coffee table, hear me out.

This book is written with savvy, know-how, common sense, and above all -- accessibility! They even cuss, which shows you - this ain't your Momma's diet book!

It gives tips, recipes and scenarios that make any 'hot chick' feel she can conquer those brow-squishing first dates; office parties; slumber parties; and live-in sichiations with men or women.

Plus, their recipes are simple, because, if you're like me, then you sort of feel put off by a book brimming over with 1/4 cup this, .8 teaspoon of baking soda that.

So, give it a shot. If you've found yourself yo-yo dieting or plagued by negative thinking, perhaps this book will be a pocket assistant along your journey to a slimmer, healthier, more fantastic YOU!*

It also promotes healthful relationships with women. Now, you can't beat that!

    Yours, yours, yours,

    Darrah de jour xo

This is a great book that has showed me how to eat bad and still look good. Any girl who is struggling to lose the weight or keep it off should read this book. I also liked Hungry Girl: Recipes and Survival Strategies for Guilt-Free Eating in the Real World.
