The best keepsake for you and your baby By A34EMIF9NGXIF2 on 2006-06-20
When I found out I was pregnant I went out and bought three different pregnancy organizers/journals/keepsake books. This one is by far and away my favorite. The others are very bogged down with extra information that you will already have if, like me, you also bought a small library of pregnancy reference books. This fun and beautiful book is larger and more of a keepsake book than the others, which are more like organizers. I like that there are places to include photographs, which the others are too small to have. This will be a joy to look at in years to come to remember my pregnancy, and my baby will enjoy having this special record of our time together during pregnancy. I will buy this as a gift for all of my pregnant friends in the future.
A Great Memory Book By A22USEJINUT4R on 2006-12-20
I first bought this book after looking at many - MANY - on the shelves in a bookstore. I was searching for a gift for my unmarried pregnant friend. SO many of the books put an emphasis on the marriage of the parents, and this book light-heartedly refers to the father as "hubby/partner".
Moreover, this book is light hearted and humorous throughout the 9 month journal. Answer choices to questions throughout the journal often include an option that will lead to at least some light laughter. Going from memory (so wording may be wrong) a few examples I can think of are:
I think you are a:
__boy
__girl
__twins
__a boxer
My complexion is:
__glowing
__the same
__green
Number of days I've worn the same pair of sweat pants in a row:____
My energy level is:
__Great! Never better!
__About the same as usual
__I can't even complete a senten
Now, whenever I hear those magic little words, "I'm pregnant", I rush out and buy this book. Everyone I've ever given the book to loves it. Married, single, it doesn't matter. This book's tone doesn't make anybody uncomfortable.
PLUS, there is space for weekly pictures of your growing belly. Using a digital camera and making simple prints from your computer works perfectly. There is also space for copies of ultrasounds, and space to write how you are feeling and what you are thinking.
I cannot say enough about how great this book is. I highly recommend it.
The perfect pregnancy journal By ACDU5YGSYPC2O on 2006-06-27
The day I found out I was pregnant with our first child I begin a search for a good journal. This book is broken down into trimesters and then further divided into your pregnancy week by week. There are spaces for you to record your own reactions and those of family members to your pregnancy, details about cravings, morning sickness, growing stats, appetite changes, mood swings, and just general thoughts about the baby. You are prompted by the author to answer certain questions week by week but there is additional, limited space to add your own comments. I was sold on the blank spaces to attach photos week by week of belly growth and ultrasounds pictures.
Too much fun! By AC5QB7MQU7GBA on 2006-11-09
This pregnancy journal is just plain fun! I have been looking through the journal I used for my last pregnancy, and not only is it packed full of lists, etc that I never used, it was also pretty straightforward and boring. I so enjoy jotting things down and checking things off in this one. Even if they really don't apply, they are good for a chuckle, and then I feel that I can just scribble my own thoughts in. My best friend and I did kind of wonder about having a place for a picture for EVERY week starting with week one - "Honey, just in case we conceived last night, let's get a picture" - but I've found that it's fun to just include pictures of what was going on each week, whether it's baby-bump-related or not. Then I get a sort of scrapbook done for my whole pregnancy. I love the way it's segmented into the weeks, the OB visits, the ultrasounds, etc in each trimester. One note: this journal dates your weeks as from conception, not first day of LMP which is what the medical community uses, so I just wrote the week as I'm looking at it in parentheses to keep myself straight. Hope you enjoy this one . . . it really is fun! And you should be enjoying yourself, not stressing out about writing everything down!
Really cute journal, but didnt fit my needs By A59PUBWYC59NJ on 2007-11-30
We tried to get pregnant for two years, and when it finally happened I wanted to document everything. I found this book and thought it was adorable. What a neat keepsake. But as my pregnancy went on, I realized that a lot of the sections didn't apply to me. There weren't enough spots for my ultrasound photos, I didn't have adversions, I wasn't sick, etc. So much of the book stayed blank. It's a great idea, but really check out each section and each page before purchasing.
- I LOVE this book!!
     By AUEPKZNSU5FUG on 2007-08-03
I bought this book at the bookstore. I wanted to find a journal-type book to document my pregnancy. My memory was starting to go, and I didn't want to forget anything! Thank goodness I got this book. My memory is gone now! :) I love this book. There are so many different areas in it. The beginning has a spot for your name, age, and which pregnancy this is for you. It has three divisions: first, second, and third trimesters. The tabs are colored, too. Each section has questions relevant to that trimester. For example, the first trimester: Where and when I took the home pregnancy test and First reaction when I realized it was positive. There's a spot to put your doctor's name, your starting weight, and your plans for delivery. There's a section in every trimester titled Cravings & Aversions (food you love and hate at the time). There is room for pictures on every page. There are pages strictly for ultrasound pictures. You can write something on every page. It goes week-by-week. I just LOVE it! I would HIGHLY recommend this book to every pregnant woman out there. It's a great way to document your pregnancy, and a great momento for the child it's about. One day, I'll give this book to my baby. I hope she'll appreciate it as much as I do. :)
- The Perfect Pregnancy Journal!
     By A27F2GDVV8G165 on 2008-03-31
I shopped around quite a bit for the perfect journal to record the milestones and info leading up to baby's birth day. In fact, I purchased 4 journals...and this one is my favorite. The layout is charming (shaped like a growing belly) and there is enough space each week to write whatever you desire, as well as to include a photo each week if you so choose. I have photos pasted on some weeks...and others have lots of my ramblings filling up the entire page.
There are separate pages in each section for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd trimester prenatal appointments, ultrasounds (and photos), name ideas, and full pages at the end of each trimester for mom/dad's "closing thoughts".
I like that there are some occasional lead questions, but not too many that it is cumbersome or overly rediculous with petty questions. The type is also light enough that if you wish to ignore a question...well, I write right over it. :)
The cover is hard covered board, and inside it is spiral - making it very easy to turn and lay open to write. There is also an elastic strap that wraps around the entire book and keeps it tightly closed -- I have placed photos, envelopes, and other special mementos inside and they do not fall out!!
My only wish is that it included 40 or 41 weeks (for those of us who do tend to carry to full term) rather than the 39 it currently has. I used the "closing remarks" pages at the end of the 3rd Tri for my Week 40.
I have had fun with this book and will certainly purchase another for our next baby-to-be.
- Beautiful book!
     By ADA3GNRDM1S9P on 2006-05-02
I searched for quite a while for the perfect pregnancy journal, and found that many were too religious, or too childish, or too rigid for my tastes. The Belly Book has bright colors, cute pictures and covers a broad range of topics, but doesn't constrain you by asking specific questions tied to a specific time period. For example, the first doctor's appointment is open, not on a particular date.
There is space to take a picture of your belly every week- so fun!
If you are looking for a streamlined book with beautiful pictures and lots of room to customize, this one is for you!
- Great Pregnancy Journal!
     By A1XWHNLCSMT7QQ on 2006-04-05
I just found out I am pregnant with my first baby and I wanted to document every minute of it. I found this book and I fell in love with. There are spaces and places for everything from how and when you took the test, ultrasound photos, timelapse photos of your weekly belly (which is so fun), and everything in between up until jr. gets here. It's very cleverly written and very cute. It makes documenting this journey very fun. I can't wait to see my belly book when it's all complete. I think jr. will get a kick out of it as well.
- Fun and Breezy and won't bog you down...
     By A3KP0GD66NRPBC on 2007-08-31
I got this book when I was already four months along, and I love it. There's just enough space for comments and notes, and I love the week-by-week journal pages, with spaces for pictures. Of course I don't have pics of my belly for the weeks before I knew I was pregnant, but I included pics of myself taken during those weeks, or pics of what was going on during that week. It's so much fun filling it out, and I know that I will complete this one precisely BECAUSE it's so much fun. The design is fun, too, with the pages for each trimester "sticking out" more, just as your belly does. This will be a fantastic keepsake for me and my baby. The only thing I wish it had (and I noticed another reviewer mentioned the same thing) is a space on each week to write the dates for that week. I wrote it in myself, but it would be nice if there was a spot for it.
I highly recommend this book for any pregnant woman, no matter how far along you are.
- Best Pregnancy Journal Out There
     By A37A03FZTPMFTA on 2007-04-01
As soon as I found out I was pregnant I knew I had to get a pregnancy journal to document my experience. I searched everywhere for a good one, but they all just seemed blah, and didn't really match my personality. Then I found The Belly Book. I loved its unique design and all the fun little details you could include about your week to week experiences. It has great spots for pictures and I like the fact that it's pretty low maintnence. If you're a first time mom who's kind of creative and quirky, I would definately recommend this book.
- Sweet book!
     By A29JQOG6EHXQ1G on 2007-07-26
This is a great book, but I would recommend getting it as early as possible in your pregnancy because you will have a hard time filling it out afterward. It's a lot of fun!
- The Belly Book
     By A3B9Q339UU7FTM on 2007-08-12
The Belly Book prompts a mommy-to-be to enter important details about the pregnancy like foods that make you sick and foods you have to have. There are also places for a picture of the pregnant belly from week to week. I can't wait to see the finished product once I have the baby in February!!
- Good journal keeper for baby
     By A1E8OJB74SVL3W on 2007-10-13
I like this book a lot. It has helped me to document each week of my pregnancy. I wish they didn't have a spot specifically for week-by-week photo though as we opted not to do that. But overall a fun book to keep tract of how you are feeling with your pregnancy.
- fun organizer
     By A1OD8O27WU6R6X on 2006-11-06
fun way to put material into a future keepsake.... it's very sex neutral which I really like and it's all about the experience
highly recommend it
- Not What I Expected
     By A1E0P8J58DI0N8 on 2007-07-30
Although this book seemed like a great idea I felt as though there was not enough space to really write my own information. I really wasn't a big fan of it, although I did use it. It would have been easier to create a scrapbook of my own.
- Great pregnancy journal!!
     By A1GS5K8ZMCNKBB on 2008-01-12
I searched and searched the stores for a pregnancy journal that I liked, but was unable to find one. The Belly Book had everything I was looking for. It is divided into weeks and trimesters, has a place for ultrasound photos, and plenty of space to write additional info. It also has cute questions for you to answer about things like cravings and maternity clothes. This will be a great keepsake for our son.
- It's ok.
     By A4ICLFNJ5Q9LN on 2008-03-07
The book is not so organized as I would like it to be, there are some things that it skips to and some I have to keep going back to fill in. It's ok.
- Great Keepsake Book with Little Fuss
     By AB5DNFRQJBS4O on 2007-02-22
I'm in my 30th week and have really enjoyed completing this book. It's very easy to complete for those of us that are busy...but still allows us a way to provide a keepsake for our babies.
- Easily the best journal
     By A1GU9W5CK2L16F on 2007-05-22
I was going to pick up the old bookstore standard "The Pregnancy Journal", but then I saw this one in a display. I love it! Not chockablock with pregnancy info, just a fun journal. There's a page for every month and some have special questions. Like, week 8, which is usually right in the middle or at the height of morning sickness: "My complexion this week is: glowing? green?" ha! There's also a "Snapshot of my life" for every trimester, where you record recent movies you've seen, books you're reading, top news story. Very cool.
- just ok
     By A1HD0HTMEE28IK on 2008-04-13
i wish that i could have veiwed this book from the inside before i purchased it i probably would not have purchased it if so just dont feel that it lets you keep track of a pregnancy that well
- READ ME BEFORE BUYING
     By A1HMY2BEZ2JJEQ on 2008-09-29
This book is not that great
Bad prompt questions
Certainly the wrong questions for a second pregnancy
The trimesters are off
It is just boring
- this is the best book!!!!!!!!
     By ATOAX4CD1FFRS on 2006-03-23
I looked everywhere for the perfect pregnancy journal - this is it - there are questions to prompt you and space to record your own thoughts. It is divided by trimester and has a page for a photo of your belly for every week of your pregnancy. I don't think the picture does it justice - the publisher should allow us to search inside! I LOVE this book !!!!
- LOVE IT!

This pregnancy journal is the cutest one I have seen yet, and very reasonably priced!
- Fun book!
     By AFED6K3B726R2 on 2007-01-16
Good book to capture all the stages of pregnancy. Pockets, spaces for photos and places to write in. I really like it.
- excellent documentation for pregnancy
     By A27TDSLY89HEX2 on 2007-07-14
I bought two different pregnancy books and liked this one the best. It seems to ask just enough questions for prompting your memory but not so many to be burdensom. It is a light-hearted book that is also just enough serious to capture special moments. It's basically set up ona weekly schedule, so it great for a person who wants to record special moments and memories of pregnancy but not every single detail.
- Great way to capture memories for myself!
     By A6NYM0JTQINL6 on 2007-10-12
I just found out I am pregnant for the second time. This time i have the baby book and also purchased this one. I plan on keeping this one for my memories! It is soo cute and has lots of places to put pictures. it also gives you the freedom to document all your thoughts and feelings in a fun silly way! I LOVE THIS BOOK!!!
- Lots of Fun!
     By A1DPX1INI1NHSU on 2007-11-01
This is a great book for chronicling your journey through pregnancy. I sit down with it every week and fill in the pages for the previous week...it's fun to reminisce and know that you'll be able to share your experience with your child one day when they are grown up.
- Great Keepsake!
     By ATVWS20E0RKVT on 2007-11-07
I bought this book for my first pregnancy and have already purchased four more as gifts! It is a fun way to remember your pregnancy. There are questions and note spaces throughout the book, as well as space for photos of your growing belly each week, ultrasound photos, and doctor appointments. My husband was gone for the first 5 months of the pregnacy, so this has been fun for him to look back and she what I was experiencing. I am exctied for my daughter to be able to look through and see how we grew together!!
