Nauti Boy (The Nauti Trilogy, Book 1)x$5.46
    (23 reviews)
Best Price: $5.46
First in a trilogy that crosses the boundaries of erotic fiction- from the bestselling author of Megan's Mark.
Too weak to resist young Kelly Benton's attempts at seduction, Rowdy Mackay left home eight years ago. Duty as a U.S. Marine put a safe distance between temptation and the nubile Kentucky vixen. Now he's back home and ready to engage in the kind of erotic games that have earned him and his two cousins a Nauti-boy reputation in three counties.
Once it was Kelly's dream too-to feel the heat of the boy she desired. But an attack from a stalker still on the prowl has left Kelly terrified of a man's touch. Now as fear and desire converge, Rowdy fights to save her from the deadly threats of a stranger, to rid her of her demons, and to satisfy a hunger more powerful than either can imagine.

Expected More By A30YS8Z43O1YY3 on 2007-03-10
Lora Leigh is one of my favorite romantica authors. However, I was NOT pleased with this book. When first reading the excerpt on Leigh's Web site, I was really impatient to get my hands on NAUTI BOY! It looked like another naughty (pun intended) and forbidden love story with promising passion and loads of sex scenes!! Unfortunately, it didn't live up to its name!! So disappointing. I've read more of my share of Leigh's books, including the 1st two books in the Men of August series. Yet this one really does not compare to the August brothers. Sex scenes are pretty tame and lame. Of course, they're graphic, but not original--or titillating!!! There's no provocative dialogue either. Just the usual F and C words, but nothing that really turned me on. Shame! I know this book could have been so much HOTTER! The main characters are not very interesting and the storyline less than engaging. As one who is very familiar with her work, I've come to expect more from Leigh. Although I have 4 more chapters to read, I'm not even inclined to finish it, having no interests whatsoever in what happens between Rowdy and Kelly (or finding out who the "mysterious" stalker is).
Two-point five stars.

There was one thing US Marine Rowdy Mackay could always count on when he returned home on leave, and that was that Kelly Salyers' arms would always be ready to welcome him home, her eyes would twinkle at him, and that flirtatious smile she reserved for him would always be there. Now he's out of the Marines, come home with the intent of finally claiming Kelly's love, but the girl he has known all of his life is virtually unrecognizable to him. More than skittish, she is now downright frightened, hiding herself away behind frumpy clothes that nowhere resemble the sexy little ensembles she used to tease him with. Something has happened, something to change her drastically, and Rowdy is going to find out what.
Kelly has always loved Rowdy, since she was a little girl he protected from bullies at the playground. She knew he ran from her because she was too young for him, but she also knew that one day he'd come back for her. She'd saved herself for him for years, but the serial rapist that attacked her last year and continues to stalk her changed everything. Now she's unsure of herself, everyone else, and even nervous around Rowdy, whom she has always trusted with her life.
But Rowdy and his cousins, known as The Nauti Boys, rally around Kelly, pooling their skills honed in the Marines to protect her from the stalker. Kelly doesn't know what frightens her more - the stalker's continued threats, or the knowledge of what Rowdy will do to him when he catches the rapist...
I first discovered author Lora Leigh's work in April of 2006, and hungrily consumed every one of her books I could purchase since then. Although Nauti Boy, the first book in her Nauti Boys series, was previously published as an ebook, it had been pulled by then to be reworked and expanded for a print publication with a new publisher, Berkley. I have to say, I was disappointed at the time, but only because the blurb and excerpt for this book had me seriously hankering for it. I kept telling myself it would be worth the wait for an expanded story, and while the wait seemed interminable, it was definitely worth it!
Rowdy is everything I hoped for and more, strong, fierce in his love for Kelly, implacable when it comes to her protection... He is all Alpha Male, in the very best way possible, but his dominate personality is tempered with his concern for Kelly and his sensitivity towards her needs and fears. He reigns himself in to a degree, allowing her time to find her footing once again, but he forces her to face and conquer her fears, while drawing her stalker out for a final confrontation. Teamed with the other Nauti Boys, his cousins Dawg and Natches, they make a formidable group.
Although Kelly appears as a frightened bird with a broken wing in the beginning of the story, the author allows us glimpses of Kelly's former strength and spirit, which have been squashed through her ordeal, but not completely destroyed. Watching her find herself once again, becoming the woman she was before the attack, is inspiring. The reader finds themself believing that overcoming such a brutal attack might be possible for anyone with the kind of support system Kelly has, especially the support of Rowdy. Because it is obvious, even with her mother, his father, and his cousins helping her, Kelly could not begin truly healing until Rowdy's return home, until he makes it clear in no small way that the attack could never change his feelings for her. Rowdy promises not just physical safety, but emotional as well, and this allows her soul to begin healing.
The suspense plot with the serial rapist/stalker is every present throughout the story, and pushes the scenes along at a frenetic pace, although the story never feels rushed at all. Instead, the pace serves to sweep the reader up in the action alongside Kelly and Rowdy, and guarantees you won't want to put Nauti Boy down until you've finished it!
Although Lora Leigh's work with other publishers has always been great, fans can't help but be excited by her releases with New York publishers, which have pushed her to new levels, increasing the action and suspense, while never diminishing the heated romances that Leigh is so well known for. It is easy to see why she made the NY Times Best Selling list with one of her recent releases, Dangerous Games, and I won't be at all surprised to see this book make it there as well!

Not Like Her Previous Titles! By AN0XWUHSHRUG6 on 2007-03-14
Kelly Benton has loved Rowdy McKay since she was a little girl. She has saved herself for the handsome Marine and plans on living a happily ever after. But, fate steps in and she is brutally attacked, leaving her shaken and scared...even of the man that holds her heart. Will Kelly ever be able to accept Rowdy's touch or reach for the safety of his arms?
Rowdy comes home to finally claim Kelly. She's all grown up and he's tired of waiting but his homecoming is not what he expects and his girl has been keeping a secret from him. What's worse. The nightmare isn't over yet, she's still be stalked by the animal that dared to hurt her. With the help of his two cousins Natches and Dawg he plans on getting the bad guy and the girl.
Ms. Leigh has once again created a good read. What kept it from being great was the fact she didn't build the suspense as to who had hurt Kelly. The end did not stop with an "Ah ha!" moment. The intimate scenes are not what loyal readers will be used to so be forewarned if you're looking for heat. This is story about two people with a past and I highly enjoy these kinds of romances. I look forward to reading the next in the McKay cousin series.
***Romance Junkies review of NAUTI BOY by Lora Leigh*** By A1PW5SQLR0Z6IH on 2007-03-07
Rowdy McKay has been waiting for the one woman that completes him to come of age. When he comes home from the armed services after years away and finds her hurting, he refuses to wait any longer.
Rowdy McKay has watched Kelly Salyers grow, mature, and blossom into a strikingly beautiful woman. During this process from coltish girl to stunning woman, Rowdy loses his heart. After years of biding his time, Rowdy realizes that he can wait no longer. Arriving home after leaving the Marines, Rowdy expects to see a familiar, welcoming gaze; instead he discovers that the confident woman he left is now watching him with fear-filled eyes. With his protective instincts roused, Rowdy is determined to discover the cause of Kelly's terror because the only alternative is to leave her alone and that is unacceptable to this Nauti boy's way of thinking.
For more years than she can count, Kelly has adored first the boy and then the man that is Rowdy McKay. A hero worship that started out as a child's infatuation that has grown into unconditional love and complete desire. In one horrific incident, everything that Kelly wanted with Rowdy haunts her daily and her fantasies have turned into uncontrollable fears. While she wants to do nothing more than crawl into Rowdy's strong arms and stay there forever, Kelly knows that the nameless but demented man will keep coming for her until he realizes his goal - a goal that will put Kelly in the merciless control of a madman.
When I read a novel written by Lora Leigh, I expect sensuality, heat, and intrigue. I expect a book to grab me by the throat and not let go. I devoured NAUTI BOY cover to cover and this talented author delivered all of the above in spades! I was alternately squirming in my seat and then aching with compassion. Rowdy McKay had my devotion from the moment he entered his first scene. His protective instincts and abject devotion to Kelly made me fall in love with his powerful and intense character. I found Kelly just as intriguing. Despite her vulnerability, Kelly is a true fighter. Her strength in the face of such devastating circumstances had me cheering her on from the sidelines.
NAUTI BOY made me yearn for more stories about this family of naughty cousins and the women they will eventually love. I look forward to each and every novel Ms. Leigh offers! Capable of writing a variety of genres, Lora Leigh is one author I will never get tired of reading.

It was not what I expected By A1XXNU2FF90X7D on 2007-03-15
Spoilers ahead:
I really did not expect the sharing issue. I have read alot of Leighs other books, especially her Breeds series and really liked those. I just cannot imagine a man who loves a woman wanting to share her with his friends, family, whoever! What is wrong with monogamy and hot sex?!I expected alot of sex but that seemed really toned down to. The names got on my nerves but I guess I can deal with that. Overall I will still look for Leigh's books. Enjoyed Dangerous Games.
- interesting erotic romantic suspense thriller
     By AFVQZQ8PW0L on 2007-03-08
Rowdy Mackay left his old Kentucky home to join the marines to escape the seductive lure of Kelly Benton as he knew she was too young though he wanted her; he even re-upped because of her though he always asked about her as she owns his fantasies and dreams. Now he is a veteran returning home as a civilian with the objective to make Kelly his.
However, Kelly is not the same precious happy person as some unknown adversary assaulted her and was probably going to rape her, but his attack was interrupted. The villain was never caught, but she believes her stalker remains nearby watching and waiting. Rowdy persuades her that they must draw out her assailant if he is to be caught. His plan is for her to participate in sexual games with him and his cousins, but once she acquiesces he does not want to share the woman he loves with anyone even blood relatives.
Though some readers will question the use of sex especially a ménage de quatre to capture a stalker, this is an interesting erotic romantic suspense thriller with the emphasis on the erotica. Kelly is a likable realistic protagonist whose zest for life and Rowdy has been damaged by the attack though her agreeing to having sex with her beloved seems genuine; adding his two cousins seems more a stretch as that does not fit her character before and after the assault. Still fans of the subgenre will enjoy the exploits of NAUGHTI BOY (mostly in bed) as he makes love to his dream woman which keeps her relatively safe as that is the preponderance of the story line.

- If I could give it 1/4 a star... (Spoilers included)
     By AFIL8ND1OLYXA on 2007-12-28
After reading Hidden Agendas by Lora Leigh, which was eh, I was intrigued enough to pick up this title. The book description was interesting... and totally misleading.
The basic story seems innocuous enough: boy wants girl, thinks he's she's too young, goes away, then returns years later to fulfill their fantasies. However, there are quite a few issues with this book that bother me on a very intrinsic level.
Issue#1: Rowdy and Kelly are step-siblings. I'm sorry, but to me this reeks of incest. Even if they are not related by blood, they are still siblings.
Issue#2: Kelly has just survived a near-miss sexual assault, where a man broke into her house and attempted to sodomize her. So the first thing Rowdy does after finding out about this is make a heavy-handed pass at her. And she is okay with it. Okay, maybe I'm not a licensed therapist, but this doesn't seem right to me.
Issue#3: Rowdy - even though he loves Kelly - has always planned on sharing her with his two cousins, with whom he has pleasured many ladies. Maybe I haven't read enough Lora Leigh, because I've recently found out that a number of her books have menage themes, but if you're not expecting it, it's a huge shock, and there really should be some warning in the book description of the sexual context of this book.
As if all this weren't enough, there's supposed to be some suspense in this book featuring the man who attacked Kelly, but it really gets drowned out in all of the emotional turmoil and excessive badly written sexual scenes. If you're looking for a romance, look elsewhere. This is just bad erotica with little to no real chemistry.
- It's so sad that I was disappointed
     By A14JZ1B09I0QJH on 2007-03-12
I have to agree with the previous poster. This book just wasn't what I have grown to expect from Leigh. I've read just about everything she's done and this is the first time I've walked away disappointed. Anyone who knows of her August series would expect something of the same thing from her excerpt on her home page and from the back cover, sadly, there was none of that. I fear that because Leigh is not writing under Ellora's Cave anymore that her books may continue to be toned down. I do remember reading this book was pulled for revision last year. I hope that is not the case, because her books are some of the best and hottest I've ever read. However, if she continues to pull away from the less conventional I'm afraid she'll continue to disappoint some of her most loyal fans.
- Better than the August trilogy...
     By A1N1EWAJX9U2CP on 2007-03-08
This book was, IMO, hotter and better than the August brothers trilogy. Rowdy touched my heart and I rooted for Kelly the whole way. The book was extremely well developed and well worth the money I paid for it.
I'll be looking forward to the rest of the series.
- Slow to start ....
     By AO2ORHW204YKB on 2007-03-14
In my opinion this book was slow to start off. The really steamy/kinky stuff doesn't come until about chapter 15. I thought this book was a little more main stream romance, less erotica, then some of LL's other stuff but it is still really hot and steamy. I was having a hard time with the main male character's names, I just couldn't imagine calling my lover Rowdy or Dawg but Ms. Leigh makes her heros so hot and alpha that I was able to get past that fairly quickly. I was happy with the direction Kelly & Rowdy decided to take the relationship in the end and I look forward to reading "Nauti Nights" when it comes out in the fall. All in all I thought it was worth the $14 price.
- Crappy Book
     By A3KBEZNYJF2FMF on 2007-12-04
This is the worst book that I have read. How can they call this romance? A man who says loves a woman but wants to share her with other men? Do not waste time reading this.
- Looking for a Real Man?
     By A1ZLUFK51EKLVW on 2007-04-29
This is book was my introduction into the world of Lara Leigh. I picked this book because of one well written review over some other reviews dissing this book. I am very glad that I did. Brothers sharing their "loves of their lives" at first turned me off and I put it down. Something about this book made me pick it up the next day - the Alpha Male was so strong. As a psychotherapist specializing in healing women victimized by rape - Rowdy is their answer to their healing prayers as they attempt to discover themselves sexually (and overcome safety issues). I had to read this book back to back 3 times in a row. And it keep getting better. I even searched out her website (a first for me) to find out about more of Leigh's books.
- not that great
     By AGE7KI8Q8WMPU on 2007-07-26
its okay- i think i am over lora leigh and the threesome aspect of it all. and her being sexually traumatized didnt come off that true or realistic at all. i think this will be my last lora leigh book for awhile.
- Not the best of the best, but not bad either
     By A2I3M01N2KBSQ3 on 2007-11-04
While I technically enjoyed reading this book, and the characters were likable enough, there were two common themes that started bugging me.
1. The stalker. After reading For Her Pleasure, Forbidden Pleasures, Lora's Men of August series...etc., I'm tired of the overuse of the stalker. I also wasn't fond of having these cousins (the Nauti series) being related to the August brothers. Why? Not needed IMO.
2. The virginal young woman being introduced into a menage a trois (or that's the plan). It's becoming a little too common for the guys to be oh so experienced while the woman comes in as a virgin. She holds back, they don't. I don't need or want to read about all-around promiscuity, but there could be a happy balance.
It was an enjoyable read for sure, but I won't need to reread this one down the road.
- Not my cuppa tea
     By A2NICGGIGIFU22 on 2008-07-15
I picked this book up innocently enough after a recommendation from a bookstore employee. I was looking for a new erotic romance author. Foolishly I didn't read the reviews beforehand. I thought that perhaps from reading the back cover blurb that Leigh's romances were somewhat similar to Lori Fosters. Well, they're not.
I don't like menage in my romance books. Three men sharing one woman does not turn me on. And I don't understand why a loving relationship would need to look outside itself to be sexually gratifying -but thats just me. Not romantic IMHO.
What disturbs me the most is the fact that M/M/M/F is NOT mentioned anywhere on the book cover or back. And thus I feel a bit duped by buying Naughti Boys. I want to know what I am paying for! When will publishers get with the program?
So enough of my harping, if you don't mind a little menage (actually it was very mild though I hated it) then you might want to check this one out. For others, like myself, there are plenty of really good M/F only erotic romances to read out on the market today -see Sylvia Day & Sarah McCarty.
- Hotttttttttttttttttttttttttttttt

- Nauti Hottie
     By A15TFW49XWH0GZ on 2007-05-23
This is a great book about the first of three cousins that live a naughty lifestyle. Rowdy returns home from the service to finally be with Kelly only to find her being terrorized by a psycho. Rowdy and his naughty cousins Dawg and Natches set out to capture the stalker. Along the way Rowdy finally gets together with Kelly and they have to decide whether or not they are going to share intimacies with his cousins. The cousins always share women but suddenly Rowdy doesn't know if he wants to share Kelly and Kelly has to decide if she can handle all three.
Can't wait for the other stories to come out. This book is not for people looking for a nice sweet romance.
- A Sexy read
     By ADGTWXUG0IM37 on 2007-06-25
Rowdy Mackay has been in love with Kelly Benton long before he should be. So to advoid problems Rowdy joins the Marines and leaves for eight years. Right before he comes home Kelly is attacked, which make her afraid of a man's touch even Rowdy's. But now Rowdy is home but the danger is still near.
"Nauti Boy" is the lastest book by Lora Leigh and I really liked it. Ms. Leigh gives the reader a real plot line and not just mindless sex and while some say it is not as good as her "August Books" I really liked it and can't wait for the next book in the series.
- Well....
     By A3QXMM7GXYTEVJ on 2007-09-03
I guess it wasn't toooo bad. I mean I wanted to give this a 3.5 instead. I felt as if the characters are kind of lacking. The plot is there but the characters were weak. I read this after finishing Forbidden Pleasure so yes I was a little disappointed. However, the excerpt for Dawg's book sounds pretty exciting and Natches! Can't wait to read his story.
So because this is Lora Leigh, author of Forbidden pleasure, I'll give her another try.
- A little disapointing but still worth reading
     By AR3B5514T5116 on 2007-12-01
I love Lora Leigh and I was eagerly looking forward to this book after reading the first few pages on her website, however the trio of men in the book were not very likable. The plot was good and it was well written. The story centered on Rowdy MacKay a US Marine who had the hots for his step sister Kelly ever since she developed womanly curves. He stayed away from her when she was younger not wanting to take advantage of her youth. When he finally returns home to try and get together with the now older Kelly he finds a shy and scared woman instead of the outgoing female she used to be. She was the victim of an attack and the attacker had not been caught. He is still after Kelly and Rowdy and his two male friends set up a sting operation to catch the bad guy.
A hot romantic story.
