Great introduction By A276V8BHZ1GK7W on 2008-12-10
Excellent introduction to Elements 7 and just what I've come to expect from this Dummies series. Just got Elements 7 and wanted/needed to get me going and let's see something now. In one-half hour I had my first photo edited. Not a wiz yet but give me another half-hour. Learned the interface, was able to easily follow the instructions. Good clear English and easy reading.
Not for Dummies, but a good manual By A2JXATAVP7LYQO on 2008-12-12
Unlike other Dummies books I have (Windows XP and Vista for Dummies), this is more like the manual that should have come with Adobe Photoshop Elements 7. It's not for people that have never used a photographic program before. It assumes you have some knowledge of digital enhancements. That being said, it's a very good manual and it's in color. It's a good desk reference. It's not meant to be read from cover to cover. After reading the first few chapters, you can use as a reference to get you over the hurtles you don't understand, give you some common sense tips, enlighten you on some things you probably didn't know, and give you some helpful short-cuts. All-in-all, a very useful manual to have, and the DVD is great to get you started even before you start and reading. Two thumbs up from me.
Book is a Flop and not on par with other Dummies By A1A93138N57QCG on 2008-12-24
I enjoy the Dummies series of books. This book has NOT helped. I find myself following the directions and then flipping through the pages to see where that final click takes place. There are too many, 'we will cover that on page #' or go to section __ to find out more about it...I would not buy this book.
Gets the job done By A1PVMMV3Z58UWN on 2009-01-07
In the classical Dummies style, covers the topic in an orderly and easy-to-follow fashion. Considering that PS Elements 7 comes with no printed manual, and the limitations of its built-in guided mode, this is an indispensable companion. Maybe due to the many features of Elements 7, the book is quite a wade-thru, and I will probably never make it cover-to-cover, but as a replacement for the manual, it works very nicely.
Close, but no cigar By A35MBFQ5TZUKEY on 2009-01-10
Does a very good job of telling you what each function is and does, but falls way short taking you to a logical conclusion. For example, it will tell you exactly how to use the Magic Extractor tool to make a selection, but never shows you what to do with the selection.. Ok for a quick reference, but PSE 7, Classroon in a Book MUCH better product.
