Fantastic

I bought this world map for my 4 year old son. He was always asking where things are? Where do elephants live, etc. It is beautiful. He loves it! A great intro to geography. The only thing is, it's BIG! 50x32. No-way can you frame it. But, a frame isnt mandatory for my use. You will not be disappointed with this world map.

I just bought this map for my house and I love it! The thing that makes it stand out among other maps is that each continent is equally proportioned. A lot of maps have the US in the middle and bigger than others. But this map is accurate in laying out the world. It is big, but not enormous. The paper is very nice and the graphics very sharp. I plan to laminate it and then put it up on a wall.

I'm very pleased with my map, but I would like to mention that you can purchase a laminated one for just a few dollars more. I bought my map and then took it to staples to have it laminated, for the price I paid I could have bought the laminated map too, and still saved money. But the map is great, now I can look at places when I see them on tv or they come up in conversation.

Bigger is better, right? This map is great, we use it in our English as a Second language Program and we love it! Although the paper is somewhat thin, it still works.

Bought this wall map on the strength of the Amazon reviewers' recommendations. Was not disappointed - this is a great map, just as everyone says here. Parchment-like paper is a little thin and could tear easily, but if you put some clear packing tape on the back (4 corners and top-center and bottom-center) all you'll need is 6 pushpins. Then you can still write on the map if needed. Happy trails.

Great map. I glued two pieces of foam board together and then mounted map on it. Now I can place push pins in all of the places I have been. NOTE: Get map push pins, not the normal size ones.

Colorful and pleasing to the eye, yet has an "aged" look around the edges. Would be gorgeous with a wooden frame. very large (32"x50"). Very good details on physical features like rivers, mountain ranges, lakes. Paper is pretty thin.
Centered on Europe and Africa, with the Pacific Ocean split down the middle. This makes more sense anyway. Slight overlap (about 10degrees longitude) at the east and west edges of the map. Europe and the Middle east get pretty crowded and there aren't as many labels there, but the terrain deatures are still there.
Concerning distortion--I don't know anything about cartography, but for $10 who cares. You might want to consider the degree of distortion.
I posted this map right above kitchen table and use it very often, whenever a place gets mentioned that I'm not familiar with. and it makes a perfect conversation piece.

I have bought 3 world maps, by far this is the best one, very nice colors and quality, gives an impression of old style maps, but with current political status.

I've just received this item and it looks gorgeous. It's pretty big indeed, but it fits perfectly in a blank wall. The print is of great quality as well as the paper, so what can I say? Buy it!

The map has a place under a clear vinyl cover on the dining room table. It triggered a debate on how many oceans there were. The map is very up to date and educational. Antiqued look is a plus.

Not only is it cheap, but Rand McNally switches up the colors a bit making it feel ancient, but look modern. It is simply paper, though so of course you get what you pay for; but this is exactly what I wanted and am happy with it.

We recently moved into our new home and were in desperate need of some inexpensive decor for our walls. This map with it's classic coloring and detailing looks great and really draws one in for a closer look. Great quality. Great price. Great product.

The map came very quickly and it is beautiful, with alot of detail. definately worthy of space on the wall. May want to laminate it, not sure.
The colors are amazing and it has a very old-fashioned feeling even while offering extremely modern details. Love it!

Best world map i've found yet, adds the old rustic look but with the detail of modern maps. Great for people who love geography and it looks good. Only bad thing about is it is huge!

The map itself is fantastic, however it was packed in a tube that was too long so it arrived with both ends crunched up (having bounced from end to end in the mail - I guess!)

We were quite impressed with the quality of this map. Not all major cities are marked (but it is a small minority). There is wonderful detail and coloring -- a very "old world" feel to it. We used it to mark our family travels with map pins and it is working out quite nicely. An exceptional map for the size and cost.

This is a beautiful map. The colors are muted it looks aged. Looks great framed. It is big so check for size. I also, bought the US map and I am very happy with it C in Idaho

As my records may show, I ordered two maps at the same time. I have yet to recieve The World Map. I am aware that mailing overseas may take longer, but I recieved The U.S. Maps weeks ago. Is there anyway that I can have my requeat met. Thank You

After reading the reviews I decided to order the map. It arrived quickly and I am very happy with the "old world" look. I would like to use it for family travel, marking places visited. Not sure if I'm going to frame it yet, very big. Recommending a buy for this map.
