  • Lots of fun!

This is a very simple step by step drawing book. It uses shapes and lines to create some impressive looking animals. The book uses colors that are eye catching and appealing to children. Both my 5 year old daughter and I learned to draw some great looking animals. This book and others in the series helped a hopeless artist survive kindergarten homework that required drawing.

  • Very good instructions and entertainment

My son is 6 years old and he loves this book. The instructions are very clear, he has no difficulty in following them. He has created dozens of pictures since buying the book and is quite happy to spend hours simply making pictures. He gets a real sense of accomplishment from being able to create the pictures. I highly recomend this book.

This was a great book for kids to learn to draw animals from. My 5 1/2 year old daughter is really into it, and even the boys in the neighborhood enjoy using it too!

I am currently buying this book for my nephew as a stocking stuffer. I bought this book for my 10 year old daughter 3 years ago, but I have to tell you that my whole family still uses it. Great illustrations, not to mention easy to follow directions! Everytime my daughter has a poster project that entails drawing a animal we pull this book off the shelf. I recommend this book to anyone.

This book is terrific, non-intimidating and easy to follow. It sparks creativity by giving further ideas to draw for each illustration. Even the 5th graders at the school I teach art at love this book.

I bought this book for my daughter when she was 3. She was drawing stick people and I wanted to give her ideas of other things she could draw using simple shapes. We used a big white board and drew animals together. Now, at age 4, she draws really cute simple animals all by herself. She gets this book out, her paper and crayons, and loves making pictures for everyone.

  • Excellent tool for 5-9 set

My daughter loves to draw but gets frustrated when her attempts are not recongizable to others. This book breaks down each animal into simple shapes a child can copy. It is easy to follow and my daughter has been pleased with her results. I have seen an improvement in her drawing ability and confidence to try more difficult things.

I bought this for my almost 5 year old daughter who loves to color and draw. At kindergarten round up the teacher was telling us how important it is to teach your child how to draw step by step. I think this book is exactly what we needed. My daughter likes how the pictures turn out and she is able to follow the directions 1,2,3,4 with some help.

  • Great buy!

My son's preschool has this book and when I saw what he could draw from it, I knew I had to get it. He has never been much into drawing, but with the help of this book, he really enjoys it! It's a great book!

From the day my 5 year old daughter got hold of this book and "I can draw people" she is stuck with these. She completed 4 drawings at one sitting and always wants to do more. The best part is the simple visual instruction that shows the way without any adult supervision. Great book!

  • A great starting point

This book is a great starting point for kids to get a handle on drawing. My 6 year old and 4 year old love it! They use this book nearly every day to help with their drawings. Art is not my thing, so it even helped me!

  • Perfect teacher

My daughter had was just about to turn 5 and I could tell that she wanted to draw different things, but wasn't sure how to get things down on paper the way she imagined. I'm not very good at teaching, so I got this book at a bookstore and paid twice as much as I would have at Amazon. But it was still a great bargain. I sat down with Allison one time and we went thru several of the drawings. The book showed her step by step how to draw several animals. It didn't take her long not only to figure out how to draw the animals in the book, but how to approach anything that she wanted to draw. It has made a huge difference in the quality of her drawings, but most importantly in the satisfaction she has with her drawings. People don't have to ask her what her drawings are anymore. She enjoys drawing and making paper animal cutouts so much more now that she has more confidence.
I chose this book over several others because it seemed to be best for that age group and the drawings in it were things that most kids that age would like to draw, cats, ladybugs lizards, crocodiles and many more. We've been very happy with it. and a 9 yr old friend even liked it.

This book is awesome. My 5 year old opend this christmas eve and opened it up and drew 2 of the animals in it right away. We have looked at other learn to draw books and this is by far the best one.

Hours and hours of fun! My 4 year old daughter and my 4 year old nephew received these for Christmas. They both use these books for hours and we also do it as a family. These (I Can Draw Animals, I Can Draw People, What Shall I Draw Today) are the only ones we have so far, but they are super. Not only are these books teaching my little girl how to draw, but reinforcing time alone drawing, group activity, sharing and "Please pass the yellow", etc... Every child should have these books.
