  This book is a strategy guide. What else can I say? We've all seen strategy guides before. The thing that makes this book great for this AMAZING game is the "suggested battle formations" on each battle map. Outstanding. Works every time.

  But you WILL need a stapler. Im not kidding. The binding is TERRIBLE! Everyone I know has had their book completely fall apart at the seam. Read the other reviews...you'll see.

  But this IS an indispensible guide to one of my ALL time favorite games. The best game (in my humble opinion) to carry the name Final Fantasy. Thats saying ALOT. And this book is the only "official" strategy guide Ive found that didnt dissappoint me.

  This is a great strategy guide with full-color, detailed maps for every battle. There are minor spelling mistakes and translation errors, but that is expected with every strategy guide. In all my years of role playing, I've never come across a guide that is 100% accurate. The biggest problem is the binding for this book is terrible. The book will fall apart in no time, but it's still worth it. It's nothing a little tape won't take care of. Gea!

  One major problem with the book was that the battle hint guides were far too vague. Also, there were tons of little errors in it. But I probably would have enjoyed it more if it hadn't completely fallen apart.

  Prima's always been goodm to me and proves the same in this guidebook. Final Fantasy Tactics is a hard game to play without knowing what to do. This book tells you all the secrets, all the strategys, and everything you could possibly want to know about the game! I couldn't get pass the third battle without it! This guide is spectacular and can give you the edge in the game without spoiling the fun.

  This book is very, very helpful in battle strategy and in helping you with what is to come next. I wouldn't recommend it your first ime through the game if you want the true gaming experience, but after that if you need it for some hidden item that you just cannot find, go right ahead. This book is the ultimate in strategy guides.
  
  
• Useful, yet inaccurate!

  I wouldn't argue that this book is very useful. Without it, it will take me a lot longer to finish the game. However, I found that there are many mistakes. For example, the number of units to be used in each battle, the number of teams. The battle map inaccurately display the location of item just because it misplaces the x and y coordinated. Many information I needed cannot be found in this book. Comparing with other strategy guides I have read, this book is the least organized.

  ...because I think that the strategy guide is quite useful. You would have to be a buffoon to need actual STRATEGIES to win the battles - this is not the intended purpose. However, knowing that the marquis has an entire complement of Genji armor, which otherwise cannot be found, makes the gaming experience much more enjoyable. Also, knowing WHERE to find Cloud's materia blade, without which he cannot perform any special attacks, is quite nice. I guess I COULD complain that Square put these things into the game in order to get us to buy strategy guides, but hey, that's not a complaint against the GUIDE, right?
  All in all, I found the guide useful, and I would recommend it to anyone who wants to get everything possible out of the game. However, if you need the guide simply to get through the battles, well, maybe you should switch to another game, like Candy Land.

  A very good guide. tells how to win every battle and says where all the hidden treasures are. but one thing about this guide is that it just falls apart. i HAD the guide now i cant find anymore. it just fell apart on me. all the pages just fell right out. but it still is the best guide on the game you can buy.
  
  
• A wonderfully useful item for one of the 90s best RPGs

  This guide has everything one needs to play this game thoroughly and successfully. It has maps, item/weapons listings, monsters, boss strategies, walkthrough, character class breakdowns, ability listings, side quests, secret locations, and all you need to know on how to acquire all the hidden characters, including Cloud from FFVII.
  The only downside to this product is the horrible binding that it has. It will almost certainly fall apart on you, but with a binder and some page protectors, this book's usefulness will far outlast its shoddy binding.

• Worth the money

  This is a pretty good strategy guide. I had already beaten the game once before I actually bought this guide of Amazon for 10 bucks. When I played the game the 2nd time using the strategy guide, it helped me find secrets and other things that I had no idea about before. It also has a very useful appendix that lists all the Armour you can buy, all the monsters, missions, etc. Along with a very useful description of each of the 20 Job classes.

  Prima,s Offical Guide was very dissapointing to me at first glance. Then again that "was" first glance. As soon as I started understanding the game it got better and better until I could not play the game without opening the guide. It's helped me all to much and the thought of lossing it absolutly terrifies me. Though the book isn't as durible as I would want (most of the pages are sliping out) I sould probibly blame someone else for that In conclusion I encourage you to buy Primas Ofical Fanal Fantisy Tactics Statigy Guide if you are as interested in the game as I am.

  This book is a must for serious game players it not only gives an overview of the battles ahead, but also lists all job skills, items, weapons, armors, and accesories. It is the best book out on this game. If you own the game and are having trouble this book can help you out.

  The Guide is very helpful, if for no other reson than the Job and equipment listings at the back. As stated above, there are a very few errors. These are inconsequential however. The book is beautifully laid out and graphically stunning. My pages are falling out however, the book seems to have a weak spine. The book has it's share of typos. I believe that the book de-emphasizes the value of various job classes however. The Oracle and the Mediator are very helpful, if they work with your style of play. The special characters are all listed and detailed, which is a bonus. The book will definitely lessen the impact of the plot, however. I recommend that it be used only if a battle is causing extreme diffuculties, or for the Job class/item information at the back of the book. All in all, I think the book is worth the money, for the serious gamer. Most of the information in the book on the Jobs/items etc. can be found quite readily on the net. Overall, I give the book four stars.

  This book helped me master FFT! I beat the game in 42 hours flat. Getting stuck was not a problem, the book helped with everything! And for the LOW price, definatly worth it!!

  Prima really did a good job on this strategy guide. Despite a few errors in it (eg. Deep Dungeon END floor treasure chart), it helped out a lot with strategies for some of the hard battles. One good thing about this strategy guide is that it doesn't really give away the story, which makes for less spoilers, making the game much more enjoyable.

  Even though I didn't exactly get far in this game when I borrowed it from a friend, I couldn't have gotten even half as far without the guide! The pictures alone are captivating! And if you have a problem with the battle alignment, just don't follow it! The battle summary is the thing that gets you through. The best help, though, was the Job List in the very back.

  the suggested attack team formation screen pictures in the book were sometimes and quite often messed up, what i mean is, the suggested formation on one screen would either be the same for the following battle, or tell you the next battle would split your party when the game dosen't. There are also plenty of grammatical errors.

  The book is great if you are an easy reader but the book is not that accurate on the move-find item movement ability it just gives you a set of coordinates and then you have to find the spot yourself, they could have included a graph of the map with grids that have been labeled with the coordinates.

  I was genuinely surprised to open this relatively inexpensive title to find beautiful full color shots with thick, glossy pages. But I was more so disappointed when if found the first 30 pages a rehash of the instructions and online help that comes with the game, and to see that the meat of the book was just maps and virtually no strategy. I feel that the main reason for such a guide is to provide the best battle stratgies on dealing with enemies, not just simply list what enemies there are to be found and the recommended characters to use. The greatest features of this guide, though, are the comprehensive lists of jobs, enemies, and useful and equippable items. I like the fact that this book, despite its pre-game release, covered in full the American version of Final Fantasy Tactics, but it turned out to be more of an FAQ than anything.

  Well i have to start off saying that i have not finished it yet.... i have been busy working on the cheats/tips as they come. If u by this book u should go step by step so u would not miss a cheat a strag.!!! I rate the book so good becasue it is ez to understand and not to many steps! This is the book for u beginners who are stumped and stuck on those hard places u cannot get by... it would even help the experts who think they have every litle thing u can get in the game.... WRONG... as i would say... never think u have it all untill u have read every starg out there trust me i have found this out.
