Lots of info on health, some on food & a dose of religion. By A2W30R08QPWM4M on 2000-07-04
The Bragg's were definitely into a providing the public with healthful info about the need to protect your precious health even if it was a little uneven and heavy handed. This book is full of different methods to use apple cider vinegar(acv) to keep our bodies in optimal shape. I think what was surprising for me is the book has info on a healthy lifestyle in general. They definitely support a raw food diet with periodic fasting and acv to keep everything running optimally. There is also quite a bit of info to support the drinking of distilled water. They go to some lengths to explain all the chemicals currently found in our drinking water. There are also pages devoted to fasting and the benefits of trying this as a detox methodology.I found all this info very useful. Had I been familiar with the Braggs I might not have bought the book because they are also quite religious. There are numerous references to religious practices thrown in amongst the info they impart on acv. I believe everyone has a right to their religious beliefs, nothing wrong with that, just not expecting to be preached at.... while trying to pick up health tips. It catches you off guard and becomes annoying. The book does have lots of info on the practical benefits of daily use of acv in our diet. I especially liked what they said about using it to help strengthen your hair and to help restore your skin to a smooth clear appearance. I don't want to forget one of the main reasons I picked this book up at the health food store. The table of contents is very very detailed. You can scan for exactly the topics you want and go directly to that page. That's good so you can go directly to what ails you. So understand when you pick up this slim volume you get more than just acv recipes.
Very simple By A3TUMSXNLZJVC6 on 2006-10-01
I honestly don't think there was a need to write a book for other than the fact that you cant sell a 1 page book. To summarzize this book for you, drink 2 heaping teaspoons of raw honey, 2 teaspoons of RAW apple cider vinegar only the kind from healthstores that has the live enzymes and a glass of water mix it together and sip it. Drink 3 of these a day for the rest of your life. That is the book in a nutshell. The rest of the book they try to encorporate bragg lifestyle principles as well as other uses for vinegar like clenaing the stove etc. I wish someone had summed it up for me.
Prove them now...give it a try!! By A3D6UBXGLN4I3T on 2000-09-10
This book is full of information about a product that has been around for centuries, and will not do you any harm. My husband and his whole family have lived on Zantac, Prilosec, Tums, with not much relief..just more drugs. When I heard about cider vinegar (from another book) I told my husband to try it; he didn't think there was much to it. Then, I bought the Bragg Amino Acids from my health food store and this book on Apple Cider Vinegar. This time, I just started giving him the vinegar honey drink twice a day for a week. He noticed SIGNIFICANT changes in his digestion and has been able to cut back on the Tums, etc. What he didn't realize is that he was LACKING enough stomach acid, and the pills were reducing his acid even more!!! The Braggs aren't the only ones who know about cider vinegar and it's benefits. I've read books by James Balch MD (Prescription for Nutritional Healing), and M. Ted Morton (Your Health, Your Choice), and they concur on the use of vinegar for indigestion. The Braggs just take the information and expand on the use of vinegar. The Braggs are vegetarians (I am not), but I still incorporate their advice and wisdom. They are living testimonies to what they teach, and I've learned that prevention if far easier than any "cure"!
Unprofessional and Insensitive By A1I9T25KGIRWBH on 2000-02-20
I work for a Natural Health Product company, and recently purchased this "book" in order to better understand the popularity of Apple Cider Vinegar. This book lacks relevant, well supported information on the mechanism of action of the product and contains mere testimonials from the authors alone. I was appalled at the language used from authors that claim to have Ph D's. The language used is completely unprofessional and in fact insulting to many readers, especially given that the product is mostly used for weight loss. I quote "[When you see fat people walking around, it is likely that they have stuffed too much fuel into their bodies]". This is only one of the many displays of unprofessional language used within the book. Also, it should be noted that this "book" contains many prayers, which I found to be completely inappropriate to the topic and offensive given its Christain basis. Frankly, I have no idea how this book was ever approved for publish; any affiliation to this "book" should be considered a great embarassment by any reputable publisher. To the potential readers of this "book" I would say, don't waste your time.
Miracle in a Bottle By A3LS6OJMQ9ME6K on 2000-10-05
Apple cider vinegar is a naturally occurring antibiotic and antiseptic that miraculously fights germs and bacteria. Since Hippocrates in 400 BCE, people have been treated with natural apple cider vinegar for its powerful healing and cleansing qualities. This book tells you how vinegar works and how to use it. Do not be confused by the low price on this book. Health Science prints in such large quantities, they can afford to keep their prices low. Over six million copies of this book are in print. That is way past bestsellerdom. Paul Bragg started the health food movement. His Daughter, the Amazing Patricia Bragg, is accelerating their tradition of promoting the healthy lifestyle. She publishes a number of health-nutrition books and markets her own brand of apple cider vinegar, olive oil and aminos. See her picture on the bottles. I have known Health Science and Patricia Bragg and have followed her healthy lifestyle program for over 20 years. As the author of 113 books (including revisions and foreign-language editions) and over 500 magazine articles, I highly recommend Health Science books to anyone not tired of living. - Add a little apple cider vinegar to the rest of your book
     By on 1997-09-01
'Apple Cider Vinegar Miracle Health System' includes ways to benefit from the use of vinegar. It appears that 1/4 of this book includes vinegar remedies and the rest of this book contains advertisements for all of the other reading material by the author. Although much of the advice and advertisements of Bragg's reading materials, health food products and retreat locations was enlightening and informative, the main body of the book should have been conducive to the title. If one is seeking a more complete book remedies and benefits of apple cider vinegar then perhaps he should research other books on the subject as well
- Apple Cider Vinegar
     By A1VT18MZM6EE5P on 2001-05-10
Apple Cider Vinegar is the icing on the cake. This is a must read book along with Paul and Patricia's Fasting and water books! I had always heard about Apple Cider Vinegar but just thought is was some natural drink. Everyone in the world should be drinking this on a daily basis! The book is extremely informative and delightful to read. It answers all your questions and then some. Patricia and Paul have out done themselves once again...Their books have changed my life!!!
- Braggs Apple Cider Vinegar book is cuckoo but useful
     By on 2001-11-30
The format, organization and overall chaotic energy in this book screams 'cuckoo - cuckoo', but there is hidden in it some very useful information for anyone interested in feeling better using whole, natural foods.
- Best book I found about Apple Cider Vinegar
     By AVL5BM38XV2ZJ on 2001-10-26
What I liked about this book is that it gave recipes for household use and it also listed healthy recipes to eat or drink. While I don't agree with everything the author says in the book, I found it worthwhile to read.
- Years ahead of their time in the health field
     By on 1999-07-01
Over forty years ago I was at death's door and the writings of Paul Bragg and his daughter Patrica helped save my life. As a result of their impact on my life I now conduct Lifestyle Semiars and share that which I leared from Paul and Patricia Bragg. They were light years ahead of their time. Pastor Bob East
- This should be taught in every school
     By on 1999-01-20
Like most Americans, I slid from one greasy meal to the next. It wasn't until I got a wake-up call from a doctor that made me change. I began realize the importance of water and the dangers in tap water. The Braggs are living proof that we do have at least some control of our destiny. The book is dense with information, and I found that every time I picked it up, some other gem of wisdom found its way into my consciousness. I understand Paul Bragg was a constantly smiling, robust man who was killed while swimming in rough seas at age 96. I met Patricia and was amazed at her boundless energy. A bad lifestyle for so many years may prevent me from living to 120, but I'm halfway there and getting stronger thanks to Patricia and Paul Bragg. I recommend this book for anyone who really cares about life and living it to the max
- A book with a quick glance at apple cider vinegar.
     By on 1999-01-21
The book is overall a general advertisement and mishmash of different possibilities towards healthful living. I expected a much more thorough work on apple cider vinegar and its effects on health. In reality the contents of this ~100 page book which are relevant to the title could easily be placed on a booklet of a few pages. Considering the price I paid for this book I feel jipped. Having said that I do feel that the few informational pages were worth reading (though you could easily get the same info off the internet for the price of a phone call).
- Self-Promoting
     By on 2001-02-15
I took Ms. Bragg's advice in this book to take apple cider vinegar for yeast-candida with painfully disasterous results. And yes, I used her brand of apple cider vinegar.
- Apple Cider Vinegar by Bragg
     By A26ZTB9NBXWBUR on 2006-07-09
A well indexed book with excellent natural health information. My mother used apple cider vinegar and I, my family and friends do also and for good reason. It helps the body to not only alleviate problems but in many cases to stay healthy without resorting to drugs.
- helpful info
     By AIO91IJZ7WLWT on 2000-09-19
I found this book to be helpful. It includes information about making drinking water and shower water safer. I found that mixing vinegar, honey and apple cinnamon tea together makes the taste more tolerable. While I can't say tat I have had dramatic weight loss with ACV, I do see subtle improvements. Other people have noticed a change as well.

- Wheres the proof?
     By A2T4H8CVKVCIJH on 2006-02-06
I agree that it helps heartburn. I do know however that vinegar contains Aflotoxin produced by mold from the apples. This is hard on the liver. If youre going to drink the stuff add some vitamin C powder to it.

- Interesting
     By A3DKXBUHV8KOBN on 2007-09-09
Always looking for a book to justify my love of vinegar, I found this book fascinating. Despite the fact they may be promoting their own apple cider vinegar brand, it truly is the best one out there. Anyone reading this will rush out to buy their own bottle, I promise!
