  • Man on a Journey

    By A25NZ4IJGCD1GV on 2008-04-08
I wanted to like this latest book by James Arthur Ray. The author is a tireless speaker and teacher trying to lift our consciousness and that is a very, very good thing. And his contributing author, Linda Silvertsen, is someone whose writings I have previously enjoyed in Balance Magazine.

Indeed, there was much I liked about the book. Most importantly, it is a very substantive book in a world where so many books of this type are feel good, quick reads (which have their place). And, it is written in the aggressive, challenging style that the author unabashedly proclaims is his intent. As Ray says near the end in talking about reading the book: "Some of it (may have) excited you, some of it may have made you uncomfortable, some of it struck you as full of it, some of it flat out confused you. That is all good." Because of the author's challenging style, I used the book to challenge my thinking on what it takes to take one's performance to an even higher level. I enjoy a book that challenges my thinking, and this one did so.

I also liked the fact that the book is apparently designed to be well integrated into online tools that will help readers extend their insights on a variety of areas. (I say apparently as the site was not operating at the time I write this and was instead harvesting emails, and doing so with a privacy policy with an usual twist that you will want to consider carefully. "Harvesting" because after supplying my email, I did not get access to the info promised in the book, instead I was told I was now "just" on a mailing list. I very much want to believe this is just an early glitch.)

Regretfully, for me, the book had some annoying shortcomings, in addition to the online material seemingly not yet being available as promised. The author seems to pick fights that seem out of keeping with his expressed interest in peace and seemingly do little other than needlessly offend. As just one example from a handful I could give, he devotes a page to seemingly try to support the notion that the real innovators are those that either didn't go to college or did poorly in college. Could it possibly be that the author hasn't really gotten over his own self-consciousness about his education? I, for one, am grateful to the many scientists with PHD's whose research has made, and continues to make, discoveries that save lives and help us lead better lives while we are here on earth. Sure, there are well educated people that have done little with all their formal education. And, there are people who have not been extensively (formally) educated who have made great contributions to society. So why put down either end of the spectrum, especially if ones true intention is to raise the consciousness of all?

Even more troubling was the fact that I found reading the book a bit of a chore. I like to be mentally stretched by a book but I don't like to have to work unduly to be stretched. Not sure I can explain why, but at times I kept thinking the book was needlessly convoluted.

Of the fifty plus reviews I have written on Amazon, this book is -- by far -- the most challenging to rate. If you are in need for an "in your face" style wake-up (along the lines of a Dr Phil style), you will like this book and perhaps a five star rating would be in order. Fans of the author will undoubtedly like a new Ray book, although some fans will likely question how much is really fresh thinking compared to prior books. For fans of Mr. Ray, a four or five star rating is probably in order. For those who like their self-help guidance more compassionately given, I expect that a three star rating would be more the order of the day. I am going to settle on giving it a four star rating and hope the author forgives me as I am very, very grateful for what I learned by thinking through the book. With two graduate degrees, it may just be that I am too much of a lost soul to fully appreciate some of the author's strong biases; hence my four star rating.

One final thought. What I liked most about the book is that for me it read more like a tour of the world of self-help and a self-analysis of one man's search for meaning. As one who believes that all of us are on a journey and can learn from the journeys of others, I came away surmising that the author is - perhaps -- only midway through a journey that will hopefully bring him to a place of deep, personal peace wherein he can be at peace with all of us. I am saving my five star rating, for this author, for the great book I expect is still within him and will be written when he reaches that place of deep peace.

PS Pleased to see that the web site has now been changed to reflect that info is coming later thereby making it less likely someoneone will unknowingly register, as I did, and then not get access to info.

  • Spiritual Narcissism Run Rampant

    By AZO8OJ7YGSJSS on 2008-04-10
For anyone who got suckered into the amazingly dull THE SECRET, now here comes James Arthur Ray's own tome on how you can have EVERYTHING you want in life with the perfect thoughts. This is a rehash of many old concepts, so James really has nothing new to say. If you've read Napoleon Hill, Joe Vitale or the Hicks' work, you'll see that Ray is a fabulous marketer for simply putting his spin on very old lessons. The problem is the lessons themselves. This hokey you create your own reality entirely does nothing but set people up for victim consciousness as 95% of the people who read this will truly not change their lives and will end up feeling duped. But James has already cleared a path to absolve himself from taking any responsibility as it's your own fault for simply not believing in yourself.
What I dislike is how he tauts this as spirituality--most of this book is just narcissim run rampant. The "want, want, gimme, gimme" crowd will love this, but if you harken to any spiritual truths, you see right through the self-absorbed writing here.

  • Like Pages Scattered In The Wind

    By A346FI04K04QRM on 2008-05-14
James Arthur Ray knows his stuff. As someone familiar with his other books, I know that James can walk his talk, and is capable of being a compelling and motivating speaker. Just look up some of his videos on YouTube and you'll see that he has amazing recall and mastery of the work.
Having said this, you would expect Harmonic Wealth, his largest and most ambitious work so far, to be a veritable gold mine of information.
And you would be right, but also wrong.
Imagine if I approached you and told you that I had all the knowledge you needed to live an amazing life. It was all written down in detail, and all you had to do was read it, follow the steps and you, too, could change your life.
    You'd be excited right?
    You'd want that book!
Now next imagine that I take all the pages of the book and put them into a shredder. Each page cut up into thousands of pieces, like confetti after a New Years Eve party.
You'd be sad and disappointed and maybe a bit pissed, right?

That's how I feel after reading Harmonic Wealth.
It's full of great information, but it's so poorly designed, so poorly thought out, so poorly edited, that I came away sad and disheartened.
I was hoping that James would, after going into detail about each pillar, lay out some easy to find, easy to collect, concrete steps that I could take toward improving that pillar.
It just frustrates me that while I read, I keep wondering "What are you recommending?" "What worked for you?" "How can I duplicate your experience in my world?"
Like I said, a recap at the end of each chapter, and then again, at the end of each pillar of the main points to remember and concrete actions to take would make this book even more amazing.
I recommend that you do buy the book, but read it with a notepad or a stack of index cards handy to write out the action steps that James recommends for a better life.
Follow those cards, follow those notes, integrate them as habits into your life and you will change it for the better.
This is a C book from an A+ teacher.

  • If You Don't Want to be Successful...

    By A3KQQK278BGELE on 2008-04-11
...don't read this book. If you don't want to become the kind of person who can create all that you desire, if you want to complain about your life and the way things are, if you think the Game of Life is rigged and there isn't anything you or anyone else can do about it, don't read this book. (Yeah, and if you think the Law of Attraction is mumbo jumbo and all self-help books are written by charlatans just trying to make a buck, dial 1-800-GET-A-GRIP. These people are successful, and they are successful helping other people. And you?)

Let me admit it at the start of this review: I am a fan of James Ray since I saw him in "The Secret" and then on Larry King and Oprah. He's energetic, interesting, knowledgeable, well-spoken, smart, and endearing in his zeal to help others to become people who can create all that they desire. I respect that as a goal, and the fact that he is also enormously successful gives weight to what he says. You want to learn to become successful from someone who is successful, right?

I appreciate authors who tell how they learned their "secrets" - usually from many failures along their own journey. James tells his stories of lost opportunities, failed businesses, and failed relationships, too, and they are compelling reading. What comes across most strongly to me is his desire to make you see and understand what he's learned so that you can have a successful life without having to endure as many challenges. "Take the shortcut!" he seems to say, "here's how to do it." You will be familiar with some of the themes here, but his take on them is as unique and individual and interesting as he is.

James will blast you out of your complacency, though. He will harangue you to actually DO the exercises and put his principles into action in your life. He is clear that you can't just sit around and dream and have fame and fortune fall on you one fine day. The Law of Attraction is just one law - there are others at work as well.

I read about 50 self-help books a year and have done so for many years. I even wrote two myself. This is one of the best. It is an instruction book for your successful life. It works if you work it.

  • Universal Laws Simply Explained

    By A161DK06JJMCYF on 2008-04-26
This book explains universal laws and combines it with quantum physics and world religions. As an excellent motivational speaker, Mr. Ray has not only motivated me, he has sparked an interest in reading more about quantum physics.

I actually listened to this book on audio read by the author. His 5 pillars of wealth make sense. Also he doesn't claim you can become majically welathy, he shows how you can achieve your desires with hard work. He also encourages us to "do the work that brings us passion."

This book is certainly worth your time.

  • Five Stars, a MUST Read, Here's Why...
    By A1121AFCVVMZ8P on 2008-04-22
As an Engineer, a Scientist, and a Christian I could not be more thrilled with this book. Science and Spirituality are FINALLY converging and James Ray has brilliantly captured the powerful keys it brings to us individually. His writing style is as if he's sitting right across from you, engaged in energetic conversation.

The book is structured around harmoniously living the five pillars that support all of our life namely: Mental, Physical, Spiritual, Financial, and Emotional. I love his "Balance is Bogus" and am relieved to freely live the ebb and flow of harmony of these five pillars. The book teaches/guides you through each pillar with thought provoking teaching, dialog, exercises, antidotes, and quotable, practical wisdom. The enlightenment he shares on the power that scientific discovery brings to these principles is what separates him from any other author and is where the true magic of growth and change begins.

This is not the same ol' information in a new package; it is on the leading edge of thought and it will challenge you to new heights. There is no way you can read this book and not be changed forever by what is offered. Check out the unbiased review of the new class of life teachers in the April 2008 edition of Fortune Magazine. No oone else comes close to James Ray in their grid. He's lived the life, walked the walked and teaches through his heart.

This book is the beginning of a new era.

  • Not a good book on the subject
    By ATQI891IR8H7Y on 2008-05-01
I didn't enjoy this book at all. I love the law of attraction books but I found that this one did not add anything to the concept. I think this book is meant to be more inspirational than practical, but I prefer practical. a couple of things really annoyed me: First, the author, a grown person, repeatedly refers to material possessions as toys. I found that to be sophomoric and tasteless. He also brags about himself a lot and name drops, it was a bit odd. I would recommend The Law of Attraction and The Abundance book. Those books are practical and informative.

  • Great message, wrong messenger
    By A2V0GQSL52KE6D on 2008-08-10
I enjoyed James Ray in The Secret so I was excited when I received the audiobook for Harmonic Wealth as a gift. My excitement quickly turned to utter annoyance. Ray tries to make his reading sound causal, but it really sounds like forced bad acting. He talks down to the listener and judges those who are not as "enlightened" as he is. He does a lot of name dropping and at one point compares himself to Bill Gates and Richard Branson! He calls himself a spiritual leader, but he behaves like a smarmy used car salesman, peddling spiritual wisdom instead of automobiles.

James Ray's "five pillars of harmonic wealth" sounds like an interesting concept, but he does a very poor job of outlining it, and is all over the place in his explanation of each pillar. There were many times when I didn't know which pillar he was actually talking about because he had been boasting about himself for so long. This book is really just an advertisement for his harmonic wealth idea, and apparently you have to give him more money to find out what it really is, as he doesn't actually tell you what to do to become as "enlightened" as he is. At one point he even tells the listener to go to his website and order his expensive mediation cds.

This book is also a vehicle for Ray to gloat about himself. He spends quite a lot of time praising himself and bragging about his own achievements. He probably should have just written an autobiography and called it "I'm Better Than You." The book would have been about half the size if he hadn't included so much useless information about himself. I'm wondering if he had to pad the book with his own gloating because he hadn't fully developed his five pillar idea or if he wasn't able to fully develop the idea because he was so wrapped up his is own narcissism.

That said, there are a few good pearls of wisdom here, but you have to wade through a lot of muck to get to them. I'm sure there are other books out there on the law of attraction that are much better and much more worthy of your money.

  • Better than The Secret but still misses the mark
    By A396B06LFY08O3 on 2008-05-01
This book has some promise, but I think it still misses the mark. I do like that the author addresses wealth holistically, instead of in purely financial terms. In fact, the book isn't really about becoming wealthier. It's about enriching your life by establishing positive habits and putting them into practice. I like the emphasis on healthy relationships because I think that is crucial to well-being.

That said, I think there are some major contradictions in the book. The book claims that one pillar of your life is spiritual, but leaves the concept ambiguous. I suppose a new-agey pick-and-choose spiritual philosophy would incorporate well into the whole balance/harmony dictum, but most religious beliefs enthrone God or Jesus Christ, not "balance". And sometimes religion does not call you to live a life of balance, but one of fervent abandon. I don't think the Bible ever uses the word balance, and Paul considers EVERYTHING in his life rubbish compared to the riches of Christ. Some religions, like Buddhism, believe in complete transcendence of this earthly life. Some gurus and monks even prefer lives of solace, and how can a life in solitude coexist with balance in your relationship pillar?

Ultimately, I believe this author is only half genuine. He quotes from a lot of different contradictory sources and adds a FEW insights of his own then tries to sell it to you as his grand "improve your life" scheme. If you go to his website: [...], what is your first impression? To me, it looks like a cheap infomercial. This guy is just trying to capitalize off of the philosophy behind The Secret. The book is an okay read, but I wouldn't use it as my personal guide to life.

  • Too much icing, No Cake
    By A29VFBSSGXIADH on 2008-05-11
James Ray just skims the surface of his own evolution. Yeah- good for him. How does this help me? I was expecting solid steps to take to "propel you to where you want to go" He promises he will teach you how to "Heighten your creativity, intelligence, intuition, and mental functioning" "Achieve financial freedom" "Maximize your health and energy, and amplify you physical strength" Wow, he IS a fantastic salesman. I have not looked up the interactive website (which is a cool concept) Maybe he gives more depth there (or tries to sell us more stuff) I do think he is very interesting and honest and for that reason I enjoyed the book. We do need a male "Oprah". You go James!

  • lots of flash; little substance
    By A1U5YP4H4J888P on 2008-07-19
Mr. Ray is undoubtedly charming, utterly charismatic ... but conscious and spiritual? Don't think so. This man is driven by that most basic of human and certainly American motivators...e.g. money. I have no objection to money, per se, but the presence of greed takes it to an entirely different level. Mr. Ray is primarily a shameless self promoter and saw an opportunity to make big money in the "field" of spirituality. All of the content is simple repackaging of the work of other far wiser and truer individuals who preceded him. Don't drink the kool aid!!!

  • Nothing new here
    By A1OZ99L533C733 on 2008-05-14
This book is too wordy without saying anything new. I was left feeling that the author wrote the book to proclaim how wonderful he is. It needs a lot of editing.

  • Good Concept + Lack of Material = Harmonic Wealth
    By A9W4YK8ZESQTS on 2008-08-12
    Horrible book.

A book discussing all aspects of the human experience intrigued me. James' "Five Pillars," however, are scattered with mathematical conundrums, personal bolstering, and bad editing.

On top of this, James doesn't say anything that hasn't been said. He simply writes down age-old truths, interspersed with his self promotion and boring stories. Now, I can tolerate repackaged wisdom, but in this book you have to read 750 pages of garbage to arrive at a few pages worth reading.

Lastly, Ray is a greasy salesman. You can literally feel how insincere he is while reading this promotional tool. He has supposedly tried to combine God and wealth his entire life, and I think he finally said "screw it" and made a deal with the devil to sell this terrible book. FOR SHAME, RAY, FOR SHAME!

science has sought evidence of its existence. Enter Jimbo Ray. He has taken my system (Feeling Good Through The Power Of Reading Words That Make You Feel Good) to the next level and then tacked on some super-bonus, extra-credit brownie points before hitting this one out of the park. This book is guaranteed to make you say "I think the flavor this month is going to be sticking around for at least another three or four months!" Yummy!!

  • Keep it real
    By AHQOKMBYCS2UT on 2008-05-27
Good book, includes a lot of material and concepts in one place. The biggest impact I got from the material was the concept of bridging the spiritual and physical worlds - ascenders and descenders. Also he stresses action and sacrifice in the "Law of Attraction" equation of which is a different twist.

Despite the overall impressive material - you must keep in mind that this is no quick ticket to enlightenment. The author himself has had extreme ups and downs - crashing/hitting bottom in 2000 and most recently 2005. If you were to ask me on the street to take life advice from someone who has crashed twice in the last 8 yrs, I would think twice. Plus, according to the author, money can seen as a measure of success - you have to ask yourself how long his measurements would be without "The Secret's" huge impact.

I also disagree with several of his assumptions, such as high performance = high maintenance, and how you have to pay for a rich lifestyle with even bigger issues and problems. Kind of defeats the purpose one might say.

The author also states "sleep as overrated". Stating you can draw on the cosmic energy when you are doing what you love. This seems to contradict with the physical pillar where he mentions taking supplements, meditation, massages, eating organic, monitoring Ph levels, etc, etc - and oh yeah - you don't need sleep! He knows a person who does real well on 2 hrs a night. Well I know a couple who were killed in a head-on collision due to sleep deprivation. Get real..

Also, early in the book the author continually stresses he's about harmony, not balance. He stresses the difference is; at various times of your life a certain "pillar" will need more emphasis than the other ones. This is a very tenuous difference in my opinion, as it boils down to time frame. Even the most balanced persons I know emphasize various areas of their lives to more or less a degree at any time or place - however they maintain an overall balance on a wider scale. To me, this is what balance is - if you want to call it harmony so be it, but I don't agree with painting them to be such differing terms.

Despite what I see as the book's shortcomings, I feel the depth of subject matter the book introduces make up for it's shortfalls. It's a plethora of spiritual concepts and principles in one place.

    But keep it real.....

  • The most tangible, straight forward, get the results you want in life book you can get
    By A36B01QY9J302T on 2008-04-23
I have been involved in James Ray International Seminars and programs for over 5 years now. This book is PHENOMINAL!!!!! If you want to change your life and get results, this book is your starting point. I have been to other seminars, had other experiences, and invested in many other books. NOTHING CAN COMPARE TO THE WORK THAT JAMES HAS PUT INTO THIS BOOK.

I am living proof. In 2003, I was bankrupt, broke, divorced, living in a spare room of a co-worker's apartment and 205 pounds on my 5 foot 11 inch frame. Now, after the conscious application of James' teachings I have the following RESULTS: a 40 pound weight loss that I have kept off since 2003. I met and married my dream girl in 2004, and we are still going strong! My net worth is more than I ever imagined and I own two real estate properties and run two businesses. And now I am going back to school to pursue my passions. More importantly, I have a great sense of self and a greater connection to God.

In short, I have experienced immeasurable improvement in all 5 pillars of my life, physical, financial, relational, spiritual, and intellectual.

These are not fake claims. I am a real person and have had real results by CONSCIOUSLY applying these principles that James practices and teaches.

If these results are not tangible enough for you, then read the book. It can change your life, and you can then tell your own story and "become an example of possibility in the world," for others to see and experience.

  • Let James Be Your Mentor
    By AJ3XP14WORM2 on 2008-04-17
James is a fabulous speaker and author. I have had the great pleasure of seeing him at two free events as well as the Harmonic Wealth event in Las Vegas in 2007.

There are many inspiring, motivational, help you get clear with yourself and achieve your desires speakers that have been around for awhile who folks are just finding out about, thanks to 'The Secret'. James is one of these and has a background, delivery and presence that makes him a cinch to add to your list of personal mentors, as I have.

One aspect of James' teachings that I really appreciate is the science. Now, I am not particularly scientific, but having been aware of many of these universal laws my entire life and trying to EXPLAIN them to people, uh yeah, there's the trick. Not only does James explain the reality of the laws, but he explains the science BEHIND them in such a way that anyone can grasp the information.

Another aspect I really enjoyed about this book is that not only does he explain the universal laws in an easy to understand way, provide processes you can utilize to figure out where you are and where you want to go (and tell you how you can get there!), but he does so while "speaking with you". I felt throughout the book as though James and I were sitting having a chat, and sometimes he got REALLY EXCITED and was practically jumping out of his chair (as we all get when we are passionate about something), while other times he spoke low, calmly and intimately to my heart, as a close friend would. It really reminded me of hearing (I listen to his cd's too) and seeing him live, which I found to be a terrific aspect of the book.

Just as I experienced with his book Practical Spirituality, I could not put the highlighter pen down. You will be book-marking a lot, so have your highlighter and post-its handy!

This book is a must have for your journey and may even be the last one you feel you need before you feel like you are achieving the "harmony" that you have been seeking.

My best to you...and your journey.
Practical Spirituality: How to Use Spiritual Power to Create Tangible Results

  • James's three for three really does work...
    By A20AE09WQLST8X on 2008-04-22
This book really does give you the information, tools and excercises to begin to transform your life. Many other books are written for the sole purpose of getting the author published. James Ray's book is the real deal. It's no wonder he calls himself a "practical mystic". He perfectly takes the incredible power of the mystical universe and teaches you how to use it in your practical day to day life. You can learn how to attract just about anything, within reason, in to your life. Not just with your thoughts, but with your feelings and your actions. You will feel more confident just knowing you have the universe on your side.

James doesn't teach anything that hasn't been taught by many before. What he does do, however, is teach it in a way from which anyone can benefit, if they are willing to do the work and be honest with themselves. Anyone who wants to embark on a journey to discover their true power should begin with this book.

  • One of the best books in this field I have read
    By AMYJAVRJR9ULD on 2008-04-16
I have recently started reading and listening to James Ray after watching him on Oprah. He is one of the few authors out there who is not only an outstanding author, but also an outstanding speaker as well.

I love this book( I am actually still a few pages away from finishing it). I bought it the day it came out and have gotted great insight and ideas from every page. Definetly his best work to date. I have read hundreds of books in this field and listened to thousands of hours of tapes and cds and by far this is one of the best.

I am already a successful doctor. This book is giving me the tools I need to bring my knowledge into other areas of professional and business life that I have been wanting to start, but have been hesitant to up til now.

James your one of the best!

  • I resonate with the TRUTHS presented by James Ray
    By AFCEWXTYAA5OR on 2008-04-22
I knew that James was my teacher the first time I saw him speak early in 2006. I went through all of his courses in 18 months and my life has never been the same. This book is a culimination of James' work over the last 30 years+ in studying all of the great world tradions as well as quantum physics. I call James, "The Great Synthesizer" because he finds the truths that run through all paths and makes them easy to understand and apply in our lives. I have met people of all ages and from many religious paths (or none) who resonate with the Truth that James focuses on. He gives PRACTICAL advice (and they are all things that he does himself that WORK!) while promoting a holistic life view. As he says, "The Universe is at your command and lines up in joyouse support of your awakening!" Awaken to the REAL you by reading James' book, doing the exercises, following his tried and true advice, and get to any of his workshops that you can as well. • Mastering the basics of life!
    By A1XY5GT4QZ0BNL on 2008-04-23
This book is an authentic account of a hero's journey...someone who has dared to go too far to understand and apply the laws of the universe so that he can teach others how to be free and live a conscious and fulfilling life.

If you are looking for a teacher that teaches the basics of life, then look no further. I have studied with James for 4 years. Previous to meeting him I had invested over 12 years studying similar material from various effective teachers who have helped me rise above perspectives that have limited my experience of life. James' wisdom and exposure to ancient knowledge and methodologies has contributed greatly by challenging me to add the simple ideas of right thinking, emotion, action and practice to my daily life.

I used to live from the results I produced in the past, often feeling a lack of accomplishment until I learned from James that my current results are merely a reflection of who I used to be, not who I will become! The simple notion of living from the outcome - experiencing, observing, adjusting my thinking and aligning my actions with commitment is what James teaches me over and over again.

I'm grateful to own this book and to have this knowledge - I will share it with others.

    With gratitude,

  • Self-help with a faux-physics twist
    By A1COE1VSMUHKXD on 2008-07-25
The physics in the book is a steaming pile of nonsense. Quantum mechanics in no way or form backs up any of Ray's theories. Find in introductory book on the subject and see for yourself!
Aside from that, this book is poorly written, chock full of unnecessary hyperbole and personal anecdotes which often don't prove the point he is trying to make. I would give this one star except that it does have some decent self-help psych up discussion. In terms of actual advice he does give a few such as 'stop watching tv and go do something productive' and 'eat a healthy diet and get plenty of exercise.' Wow, do we really need fake physics to get us motivated to get off the couch? I guess so!
As a practical matter, he doesn't seem to be all that great at using the "Law of Attraction" himself. He mentions numerous personal failures and difficulties, such as his lover leaving him, and business not going well. According to this logic, he must have attracted these!
Oh yeah, this book is also a big pitch to attend one of his "Harmonic Wealth Weekends," which run $1,000.

  • Buy it, you can't afford not to own this book
    By A1EX35Z05IFQD on 2008-04-17
This is probably the best book there is in the self help genre. The book is written in a direct, conversational manner that makes it a delight to read. The message is simple and powerful. And unlike so many self help books this book tells you what to do to achieve harmonic wealth. This is a fantastic book, I love it.

  • Not your Ordinary Self Help Book - it's a Manual for Life!
    By A1X4V0XRO313ZK on 2008-04-22
I found myself reading the book in one hand and journaling the answers and exercises in a notebook in the other. James Ray poured his Heart and Soul into this book. I consider it an autobiography and a testament to his ability to be an effective Teacher. He leads by example and is always very open and candid with his life experiences and more importantly, the lessons that he has learned from those experiences. I can read about his experience, embrace the learnings and apply it to my life. I highly recommend this book, and ask you to take the time to do the work as he has laid it out in the book. Doing so will absolutely give you a bigger ROI and ultimately change your life!

  • The secret... manifested
    By A2D5J3XN6QYYRO on 2008-04-22
This book is for every one who thinks the secret doesn't work or that there's something missing in it.

Just do what's in this book and you're garanteed to live the life you want to live.

    This is just amazing.

  • He's just telling it like it is...

I've been studying James Ray's work for a while now and his newest book is a fantastic guide to what his teachings are all about. I appreciate that everything in "Harmonic Wealth" comes from his direct experience and is backed up with research from modern psychology and quantum physics.

Beyond his profound concept of "harmonizing" all areas of your life rather than trying to "balance" all areas (which is impossible, especially in this day and age), another part of the book that really hit home for me was his view on goal setting. James says that when you set a goal for yourself, it isn't the achieving of the goal (getting the things, the money, the accolades, etc.) that's important to you. What's really important to you, what you really want is to become the type of person capable of attaining that goal. That completely shifted my attitude towards the goal setting process and has allowed me to achieve even more.

This is the book I will recommend to everyone that wants to find out what James Ray is all about. I recommend you check it out also.

  • A Beautiful Gift of Writing
    By A1GVP7LDQPEHOV on 2008-04-24
Harmonic Wealth helps bridge the gap that has opened up between mind and matter, between us and the rest of the cosmos. We are in one of the most exciting times in history, and I believe this book is particularly timely, a significant contribution to understanding and dealing with the healing of ourselves and the planet. A masterpiece!

  • WOW IF YOU READ 1 BOOK EVER, THIS IS IT...!!!! READ ON...
    By A3I77ZWIPUYPOG on 2008-04-26
Hmm, this book is amazing I felt as if I was at one of James' events all over again! Ok so there is nothing like the actual live events, but this comes pretty close. He is the most inspiring person I have ever met and I am so happy that he has written a book which has landed at the TOP! WOOHOO! Reading this book shows that harmonic wealth is no secret, in fact, it is really super-easy, common sense understanding of how things work. I am serious when I say if you read one book, then this is it! This truly is where it begins and/or ends, it's that simple. I know that if you are like me and get any value from this book whatsoever, then this won't be the only book you read b/c [James] is just fascinating! Story after story reference after reference, awe-inspiring "what one man can do, another can do"!!!!! it's that easy! THANK YOU JAMES AND THE REST OF THE JRI TEAM FOR MAKING THIS ALL POSSIBLE! I cannot wait for the movie to come out!!!! I have the book as well as the audio book too. I am constantly growing and with everyday, I am thankful for finding THE SECRET! I am forever focusing on my own "personal transformation"!

Thanks in joy in love n hugs,

  • The best gift of all!
    By A1K05JDQHJL6SU on 2008-04-21
This book can be read as a stand alone piece or in conjunction with James Ray's other materials. Having participated in some of James Ray's seminars, and invested in several of his programs, I thought that I might find the book to be redundant. This was not the case at all. While the "Five Pillars" and some of the anecdotes are familiar, James has peppered the text with a variety of exercises that invite further self-exploration and growth. The beauty of this book is that it has something to offer everyone - from the person who is just starting on their path to personal/professional development to a seasoned traveler. If you have tried different programs/books/seminars to seek the results you want, and have been frustrated in the process, I recommend that you read this book. It could be the key to your next step...

  • The journey isn't over...
    By A2RTDYMFHWP8I3 on 2008-04-22
Traveling along life's journey isn't an easy task. "Harmonic Wealth" provides information on dealing with those bumps and boulders along the way. It is a great read, re-read and a reference book. I enjoy his straight forwardness, honesty and approach in general. If you truly want to move forward, his suggestions are timeless.... or you can read it and stay where you are. I appreciate his enthusiasm and desire to help those of us who are trying to figure out life in general. I highly recommend reading the book.
