  I have had this book for a long time now, but only recently started to discover what a gem I had. I found it, a good few years ago, among a pile of second hand books I was rummaging through. About 2 years ago I read one or two extracts and found it so comforting that I immediately passed it on to a friend! Two months ago it came back to me - unread! But what a blessing it has been.
  
  I think the author is a lady, but I'm not sure. One thing that I am sure of though, is that it is authored by a saint. It is written, in the main, "as if" the Lord were speaking directly to Frances. She/he seems to be documenting the constant love and comfort, and also loving correction, that the Lord is pouring into her life. It is this heavenly perspective which interprets and redefines all that comes her way - the nominal church, the demands on time, the lures of the flesh etc. Superimposed upon all the manifold and varied revelations is one of a gracious, tender, loving and strong Father. The true Christian will immediately recognise that One to be his God.
  
  Because all believers who truly long for closeness with the Father and with His Son Jesus Christ, share a similar pilgrimage, you will find, as you come to this book, prayerfully (or at times in utter spiritual bankruptcy), that again and again it will speak precisely to your condition. But don't make it your God - heed the warning given often in this book of finding God for yourself. Frances wants you to come to Jesus and hear what He has to say to you, in your circumstances and calling - and so does Jesus, I might add. But get a vision of love, sacrifice, discipleship and devotion here that has almost been lost in the polarising camps of the laid-back-Christian-seeker-friendly-entertainment cult and the over-doctrinal-classification-artistes, who want a revival of Puritanism in our day. Get to the marrow - you'll find plenty of that here.

• In A Spiritual Slump? Read This!

  This is a beautiful book. It is beautifully made and more beautifully written. I got it at a time in my life that I felt spiritually dry. It has helped so much! It makes you realize that you have a loving Heavenly Father. Not One who is just waiting to punish you. It is like love letters from God. I thank God for such a blessing!

  Come Away My Beloved is more than a devotional. These are love letters from God. My son, 15, says, "Mom, this really encourages me in my life to live more for my Heavenly Father."

  I read the Psalms to be encouraged...and now I also read Come Away My Beloved..it's food for my spirit!

• On a deserted island!

  I have had this book since the early 1980's. It is marked in and worn out. I know if I was ever on a deserted island and I could only take two books, this one would be second to the Bible. I have rejoiced and wept at his wonderful insight and thoughts. What a blessing to own this book!
  
  
• Awakens the spirit to the love of God.

  If you are trying to get to the next level in God, this book used as a devotional is a great way to get there. If you read a passage or two before praying, your desire becomes more of God and less of the stuff you were originally going to pray about. This book also shows you how the Lord chastens and rebukes those that He loves in love. Not only do you hear what is wrong, but you also find out what He wants you to do to fix it. The most awesome thing is that you know that this comes from the word. I recommend this to anyone who leads praise and worship or who is on a praise and worship team.

  I have had a copy of Come Away My Beloved for several years. I treasure this book and I have decided to buy one for each of my two daughters. The book speaks to me as though straight from God.   This book paraphrases scriptural concepts topically, in first person as if Jesus were sitting with you and talking to you personally. Makes Biblical truths and promises come alive. Ideal as a gift for someone who needs encouragement or who finds hunting for abstract concepts such as hope, peace, comfort, etc. a daunting task in the Bible.   This is an absolutely awesome book written by someone who was obviously yeilded to God during the process of writing it. I know I will re-read it for the rest of my life. I will also plant this seed into the lives of others.
  Hearing the voice of God in these pages has fed me, comforted me, healed me, challenged me, blessed me, and opened my eyes as no other book has done.
  My relationship with God has changed. This book has helped me to have an incredible desire to seek Him first, always.
  This book will meet your need to know God and understand what He wants from you. You'll hear from Him, trust Him and fall in love again.

  I picked up a copy at a goodwill many years ago. I can't even begin to understand it being discarded since first opening it's cover. Since that time I have worn it out and purchased another. It has been a constant companion outside of my Bible. Everytime I am in need of encouragement I open it up and the Lord speaks to me. I have read lots of books and forgot most. This one I never forget and the words often come to my rememberance in times of need. This is because they are inspired by the Holy Spirit. always reminding me to come away and rest in Him. It stirs up my love for the Lord and instructs me with gentlenes and mercy. Try it. Your love life with the Lord will never be the same. All the other books by this author are like having a treasure chest full of gems.

  Come Away My Beloved is one of the most sacred and beautiful books I have held in my hands. A masterpiece? Not necessarily. But Spirit filled? Absolutely. The tiny book is packed with the Lord's promises and truth that Frances Jay Roberts so perfectly communicates in a understandable way. As you read this book, you will feel like the Lord is speaking directly to you, forgetting that a man is behind the pen. (but yet, hearing from God.) This was given to me as a gift a couple months ago, and I have already bought it a couple times myself to pass onto others. Young, old, new, or mature believer-this book can speak in individual, life impacting ways into the souls of anyone who loves the Lord.
  
  
• Pales in Comparison to "God Calling"

  Please check out "God Calling" instead! There's no comparison between the two, except that "Come Away My Beloved" seems inauthentic in comparison. "Come Away My Beloved" is one person's imagination about what God might be saying, while "God Calling" is an authentic representation of what God's saying. Trust me on this one!

  This book is like having God right there in your living room. My friend with ovarian cancer recommended it to me because of the comfort it has give her during her illness. Now that I face an uncertain future with parkinson's, it is helping me the same way. It is the best devotional I have found.

  I have had a copy of copy of Come Away My Beloved for about 15 years and I do not know even how I came about it, someone must have given it to me in my early Christian years. Without this book, I do not think I would have been able to servive the trials that I have gone through in the past 15 years. This book is from the throne of God.

  This is undoubtedly the most inspirational devotional I have ever read. It is insightful, sensitive,and personal. It is quite evident that the author has spent many quiet moments alone with the Lord and has been able to record these letters for our benefit. • A MUST HAVE!!

  I was given a delapitade copy of this many years ago when I was too ill to read it.
  I finally took it out 3 years ago and it spoke to God's spirit within me. I love the old language in the original King James Bible and when I read this it was like GOD was speaking.
  Many times I use this devotional when writing a word of encouragement to someone who needs a boost (I make sure I state the name of the book and the author).
  God has used it to encourage our Intercessors!
  When I can, I give a copy to others.
  I have most of France's devotional and am praying that someday I will be able to purchase those not available, for every one of them has a special word for me or someone needing to hear them.

  This is the best book I've ever found for a devotional. I use it to find what
  He is saying to me now and I am always moved by what He say's to me. It is alway's acurate for what I am going through at the time. Get the book and journal you will be amazed at how much God loves you and how intimatly He knows you. I have given aproxamatly 30 of these as gifts and am always told
  what a blessing they are.
  God has blessed the Author of this book with His heart for His people.

• Great Devotional Book

  This classic devotional book has been updated in today's modern language. It is easy to use and easy to understand. Each devotion is written as if God were speaking directly to the reader. I give them to people who are hurting, grieving, feeling like failures, etc. The devotionals continually lift me up reminding me of how much our heavenly Father loves us and wants an intimate relationship with us.
