Very good book By A3UXWDRZ11CZC6 on 2007-07-29
I bought this book upon starting my residency and i have to say that i found it to be very useful. It covers all the infectious diseases, even those we might never see in our practice. the best part tough is that it includes empiric treatment guidelines, 2nd 3rd or even 4th line antimicrobial agents for every infection. This way it can solve the problem with patients being allergic to specific antibiotics, that many times are the mainstay in treating infectious diseases. I think this book can't serve its purpose any better than it does
The Sandford CD did not work By A3S7THVTUQF9KH on 2007-08-23
I have been using the Sandford Guide for years. This time I decided to order the CD to download on my PDA. Vane illusion. I couldn't. I tried the technical support. After about one hour on the phone, they could not either. So I asked the technician to please transfer me to a customer service's representative to order the book and return the CD but he coulnd't because the technical support is given by an independent company! End result: I cannot return the CD to Amazon, the Sandford Guide people are unreachable. I felt cheated by this clever system. I accepted that I lost my money and had no choice but buy another book.
Always awesome! By A2YBHNCDU8OSAS on 2007-06-05
The ID Bible!!! Love it! And the 8x5 size is so much easier to read and costs about the same! Keep it up!
Short and Sweet... By A33MTJY76TYGI7 on 2007-09-15
I work as a hospitalist in a busy community hospital. I use a commercial software product as a quick reference for other meds, but still stick with this classic reference for antibiotics and sensitivities. Small and lightweight, it doesn't take up much room in your pocket. Med students and residents in particular shouldn't leave home without it!
Will be returning this one for certain By A11EAI7GUQMEX7 on 2008-03-16
The type is WAY too small in this book and the info is so busy it is ridiculous. Don't waste your money. You can buy the larger print edition if this is your reference choice but I had been using the John Hopkins guide from 2006 which is considerably more user friendly. I am returning this one and planning to look for the newer edition of the Johns Hopkins guide.
- Antimicrobial Therapy
     By AA9UW1TCJIJUO on 2007-08-05
Have relied on this annual review for over 25 years. Nothing else comes close to being as reliable, current, thorough and useful.
- font too small
     By A2AN3LJN57IJVO on 2008-02-26
I wouldn't advise getting the little one, the font is just too small and puts a strain on the old eyes. There is a step up version that still fits into your pocket. As far as the content is concerned, a must have if you ask me.
- Sanford Guide Antimicrobial
     By A2J9CWNZ2E7WQT on 2007-06-27
This is a nice concise book, easy to follow, and small enough to keep in your lab coat.
- Excellent information, but....
     By A21WGF45055SCY on 2008-01-12
I purchased this resource for my clinicals it has excellent information but, the writing is way too small. I need larger writing to maintain my eyesight and sanity.
- In my country ¨s boockshops, is imposible to find The Sanford Guide.
     By A33WHQISZU016H on 2008-02-26
We need the Sanford Guide to Microbial, because is very important for my daugther in the University, she is a pharmacy student. The main boockshops in Costa Rica don't sell that book.
Successfully, Amazon is the solution to the problem.
- extremely tiny print
     By A3NFA03ZSUPYLQ on 2008-04-20
I was required to buy this for a class. The print is so small I have trouble reading it. I would not buy it again because of that. What good is current info if you can't see it.
- Great, but type is microscopic!
     By AKT0R7ZJ2V3EG on 2008-04-27
This is an invaluable resource in terms of content. It is the pocket size, which is convenient. Understand that the small size means that the type is incredibly small. You might need a microscope to read this!
- Great Clinical Reference!
     By AIU62MGOQCAD2 on 2008-05-19
For all medical practitioners this Sanford Guide is the definitive pocket guide for infectious disease treatment. Updated annually with the latest treatment recommendations from professional groups. I use it nearly daily when considering antibiotic selection and disease treatment.
- Not convenient to use
     By A28X3VZYPR81R3 on 2008-05-21
The book had all the information I wanted but the print was totally unreadable due to size...I opted for the more expensive spiral bound version.
- Not useful
     By A3T2LRVNJNH1HU on 2008-09-05
I read all the reviews. Figured small print was okay to deal with. Not so. Not only is it charts and graphs in the whole book, it is miniscule print. It's not a couple charts here and there, it is the WHOLE book, kind of like when you see fine print at the bottom of a contract. Information itself is good after the 20mins it takes to find it. Using it was so tedious it would stress me out trying to look stuff up. Waste of money, invest the cash in a better book.
- five stars
     By A251RTCP33T89X on 2007-09-04
i have relied on this guide for good sense prescribing for common and uncommon infectious conditions for years; i'm almost lost without it
- Inexpensive, "The Standard"
     By A2LB8KWUQ5ZGEK on 2007-10-13
This book is the industry standard. Highly recommended, however, if you have Epocrates, use the ID part and it is comparable.
- Must Have for anyone in the medical field!!!
     By A18MV4OOH51S2O on 2007-12-23
Must have. It is essential to have this book. The standard of antimicrobial therapy.
- Sanford Guide 2007 Review
     By A102SOZFG8LWAV on 2008-02-10
The book arrived quickly (within a few days), even though I chose the free Supersaver shipping. It is a great pocket antibiotic guide widely used in the medical field.
- A necessary reference for every provider
     By A1CMLVTQ2QUJF2 on 2008-02-12
Great reference that is a necessity for every healthcare provider! Great price! Print is tiny though.
- Handy little tool
     By A2HBSRVTVAV6ST on 2008-02-13
This is a good book to have when doing a rotation or shadowing a physician expecially in family med and internal. However, the only complain I would have is the type font is a bit small but nevertheless its a keeper.
- the best ID quick book
     By ABF8DBAS4TSPR on 2008-04-12
it fits right into the white coat and it has all the quick references that i need on the floor
except that it has really small print which hurts my eyes a lil bit
it is really nice book
- best pocketbook for clinicians
     By A3T39G07FEZQZU on 2008-05-25
for medical doctors who work in a busy health unit and need at any time a handy book to review antibiotics, bugs and side effects.
very-very helpfull for clinicians with a subspesialty (rheumatology, nephrology, hematology etc) who need fast to have access on information such as the appropriate antibiotic and the first in line medication.
- must be in your pocket for inpatient/outpatient care!
     By A19NAKWN2HD289 on 2008-08-21
We all need this pocket book to stay current on Abx. Rx and Tx.--period. Dosing, too, and specific infective regimens are also noted. My only complaint is that sometimes it is confusing and tedious to FIND what you need. An updated charting system, and easier to find categories would be nice in the next edition.
- It's very useful and efficient for pharmacist who work in hospital
     By A2L6T9RPW996IV on 2008-09-13
it's very useful and efficient for the hospital pharmacist, actually I am.
The book size is so small even sometimes hard to noticeable in your pocket.
The dosage and indication is well defined.
But if you are a bad eye-sight, you should select more bigger size.
it's really small.
Anyway, I'll recommend it to pharmacist if you are a vigorous person.
- GREAT BOOK!
     By A2PY4QZMHX935O on 2008-09-14

HANDY, PRECISE AND EASY TO READ! A MUST FOR ANY PRACTITIONER!
