You won't be sorry. I first heard of Tania Maria a few years ago, but for some reason never got around to buying any of her CD's until yesterday, when I spotted a used copy of this CD which had been very strongly recommended to me by a friend. I am embarrassed to say I paid an absurdly low price for my copy. Now having heard it, I would happily pay $20 for it! It's really that good. She just explodes out of the gate on the first track, and then cuts to a ballad tempo with a VERY nice rendition of George Gershwin's Embraceable You. Think you've heard that song in every conceivable permutation? Listen to this. Both in her playing and and her singing she makes everything sound new. That's all I can say and it summarizes the whole release. Just plain fantastic.
Brazilian jazz at its best!

I first bought this album in 1983, when I was about to graduate from college, and I still have never tired of it! The songs are life-affirming and uplifting. I just can't help but feel good whenever I listen to them. I particularly like the title song, "Come With Me," but I also love "Sementes, Graines & Seeds," which is my favorite, and the Latin-infused "Sangria". Tania is immensely talented on the piano; the chords are beautiful. Her vocals are out of sight also. Tania Maria is truly in a class by herself. This is one of my all-time favorite recordings. Listening to it makes you feel good to be alive. I defy anyone to listen to it without wanting to jump up and start moving! It's that good! Tania Maria -- the girl is baaaad!
Her voice and style is amazing, simply amazing

I rarely find a woman singing over jazz, even Latin jazz, very appealing. It is either distracting me from the music or it just simply sounds like another Nancy Wilson imitator. Not here. At the time I heard this album I was 14 years old and worshipped heavy metal. It happen to be in my dad's car one day and I snuck the tape away, partaked in ceremonial greens (I was a 14-yr old headbanger!), then listened to the tape. It was the tape that catapulted my musical tastes into the jazz world. I have since obtained every album, but this remains the most powerful. Thank you TM!
Funky Latin Jazz

Like the previous reviewer I got into this in my teens and it happened to be one of the first albums that I bought. London in the 80's had some excellent Jazzy funky clubs and when I first heard Tania Maria on a radio show that we all used to listen to I had to rush out and buy this. My dad who was very discerning with his Jazz tastes took an instant liking to it and I found it hard to get back from him.
Tania's first three albums for Concord Jazz including this one are probably here best remembered. For me this is timeless and when I feel like an uplift I can put on Come With Me and just enjoy the brilliance of Tania Maria. Certainly worth a spin on the CD deck.
Timeless....

I've been listening to Tania Maria since my early teens. They played her quite a bit in the mid 80's on the now defunct "Quiet Storm", an L.A. based radio station KUTE 102.
The title track "Come With Me" is timeless. I love that song. I can play this cd from start to finish and it never gets old.
