Herd Your Horses Board Gamex$15.90
    (52 reviews)
Best Price: $24.99 $15.90
Loaded with facts, adventures and beauty, this popular game allows players to experience life as a ranchhand or as a member of a wild herd as they move along an adventure-filled game board. Included is a deck of beautifully designed horse cards each with the name, breed, color, markings and biography of a fictional horse. Includes a solitaire game for solo play. Three levels of play. 2 to 4 players.
Horses hold a magical appeal for children. This colorfully designed board game provides an exciting fantasy environment for two to six horse lovers. In the first game, players pretend to be wild mustang stallions galloping through mountains and valleys, gathering a herd to protect while facing such obstacles as cougars and bad weather. The first player to round up a herd wins. In two other games, players are ranchers rounding up strays and competing to fill out their herds. Players are sure to enjoy the in-depth educational information about horses and horse breeds that is included. This is a great game to saddle up when it's rainy on the ranch, providing enough challenge to play with parents as well as with friends. --Lee Strucker

A wonderful gift! By A28RVHJ6DOD61H on 2000-08-03
My parents got this game for me when I was 10 - and at age 15, my friends and I still play it. It's very educational, with beautifully-illustrated cards representing different horses that tell about each ones' breeds, colors, markings, etc. It also includes a handy booklet with general information on horses as well as game rules and plays. The game is actually 3 in 1; with two versions for multiple players and one version for a single player. Another bonus is that to play you don't need extensive knowledge of horses - anyone can play! I have over 5 other different horse board games and this one is my favorite with my friends and family. It is money well spent.
The perfect game for any horse lover! By on 1999-07-14
When I recieved this game as a Christmas present five years ago, my parents did not realize how much I would love playing it! For a horse crazy girl, it was the perfect gift. The idea of being a beautiful, wild mustang fighting to reach safety in a race against other stallions and obstacles was enchanting. Along the way, the player has to build their own herd by collecting unique picture cards of various horses. The cards inform on the horse's breed and personality, including information that is educational and interesting. The two alternative games are also fun to play. All in all, the game's colorful format and imaginative appeal make it a guaranteed favorite for any horse lover!
If you like horses-you'll enjoy this game By AWLPSYNGQFB37 on 2000-10-03
Not knowing what to expect with a game about horses we were pleasantly surprised. My daughter, the 9 year old who is crazy about horses loves this game. I thought it might be a good educational game for a horse-crazy girl. It is educational if you want to learn about ranch horses or wild horses, different breeds, colors, markings etc. There are six games you can play: 3 solitare and 3 for multiple players. The games are simple enough for my daughter to read and explain to me. As a mom, I was not bored out of my mind, and my daughter loves it- so it's good mommy/daughter time!
Six months later still playing it every day By on 2003-09-15
My 8 year old daughter got this for Christmas. She was interested in horses and I thought this would be educational and hold her interest. She LOVES this game. It is not too hard for her 6 year old sister to play with her and it is interesting enough that her Dad and I don't get bored with it. She has even played it alone. There are 3 playing options and though we have played all three, the first is the most popular and easiest. The other two options require keeping track of the horses breed and traits. That is too much work for our younger daughter but the 8yo thrives on it. We have played this game hundreds of times since Christmas and easily every day for six months. Both girls got tons of gifts for Christmas. This was the most used, most loved. After a game, the girls like to just read the horse cards and sort them and arrange them. With the variety of playing options I can see where they can enjoy it for years to come. A must buy for your horse fan.
Surprisingly Fun By A1EDTT0A6JO1MS on 2003-01-02
I purchased this game as a Christmas present for my 11 yr. old daughter (who is horse obsessed). The entire family had a blast playing it. I'm a 40 something man, who generally gets rapidly bored with childrens games. My wife seemed to enjoy too. My 5 year old could play too (with a lot of assistance). There is quite a bit of luck in the game, and it is possible to come from way behind a win (which keeps it interesting). The components are a little week though. The horse cards are beautifully illustrated and are of good quality similar to high quality playing cards. Compared to the cards the board is poorly illustrated, and of below average quality compared to other board games. The adventure cards are little more than heavy paper and could really use some improvement. The size and quality of the adventure cards will make them very susceptable to damage and loss. This is a nice family game, particularly if your family is into horses (even if only a little).
- I love this game!!!!

I just got this game and i already love it! It has 3 multiplayer games and 3 solitare games. There are what seems like 1 hundred beautiful pictures of mustangs and ranch horse. What you do is pretend your a wild stallion and you have to round up a herd of 9 horses not including donkeys. There are adventure cards too and you might have one that says you find a horse get a horse from the mustang stack and some say one of your horses got eaten by a tiger put a horse in the stack. i play it whenever i get the chance to and i recommend this to anyone who loves horses as much as i do! by, ~Horselover~
- My 5 year old daughter loves this game!
     By A2ZBF0X6AFO087 on 2001-03-01
My 5 year old daughter received this game as a gift, and although she needs my help to read the cards she loves to play this board game! It has more than one game version for you to play and educates you about the different markings on the horses, colors, etc. Great gift for the horse-loving girl! I bought 3 games online after receiving it, so I now have them to give as gifts to her girlfriends!
- Kids will Herd Together to Herd Their Horses
     By A1BCVPSEZ5NSXK on 2002-10-23
. A fun game that can be played very simply, or play can evolve to a more complicated level.Almost all kids love horses, and Herd Your Horses allow kids to get their favorite horses together in their own herds, on their own ranches! Allows good imaginative play, as well as thinking, counting, etc. Negative: Not readily recommended for kids much younger than that recommended ages. The rules are a little more challenging than some of the other games for the same age groups.
- GREAT GAME FOR HORSE PEOPLE

This is the BEST toy that a horse lover could ever get! With THREE games in one (not including the solitaire games), you can NEVER get bored with this game!
- AWESOME game
     By A1V92V23DQP2F0 on 2005-09-26
My mother got this game for my daughter's 9th birthday and it has been SO much fun. My daughter is a horse nut and it can be hard to find horse related board games. We enjoy playing it as a family and my husband and I even broke it out the other day with no kids in sight, lol. The games are easy to learn but not so overly-simple as to be boring to older players. My daughter enjoys the one-player options at times when no one else is available to play and my husband uses the factoids on the cards to study up and be able to understand my daughter and I when we start talking about horses.
- Excellent Game!

My 6 year old daughter received this for Christmas last year & we have pretty much played it EVERY night since then! She even brings it with us when we travel to her grandparents for over-night visits. I highly recommend buying this for your horse-loving child.

Herd Your Horses is the game for her! It's a great game for horse lovers-- you have to gather beautiful mares, stallions, the works! I've had it for a long time, but I still love to play it with friends and sleepovers. I think any girl age 8-14 would have a great time with it!
- My cowgirl's favorite game!
     By on 2000-01-25
My 5 1\2 year old, horse-crazy, daughter asks me to play this game several times a day with her ever since her aunt gave it to her as Christmas gift. My 7 year old son likes it and doesn't need my help reading the cards like she does. It's fast paced, entertaining, and I have to admit, I really enjoy playing it as a 34 year old mother! I'm stocking up on this game to give to other girls as birthday gifts.
- A good game

This has been my favorite game since i was about five years old. Being a horse lover, i very much enjoy playing this game over and over again. It provides family fun for all ages, even my 19 year old brother likes playing. You also learn about the different roles certain horses play in a wild herd. . . HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!
- Excellent value for horse-mad kids
     By A3T48NX0NJG1RY on 2005-08-24
My 8 year old daughter loves horses & is mad about riding. She loves the game - partly for the gameplay and partly for the information in the game cards (which list the colours, breeds and characteristic markings on horses).
The fact that there are three variations of the game and some solitaire versions included is just a bonus.
- Neice Loves This

I like the variety of games you can play with the one board. I like that you can play games with just the cards alone. And lastly I like the educational material on the cards about the horses.
- Great Game!!! Worth your money!!
     By A26MPZ26DA057H on 2004-05-14
I bought this game for my 8 year old neice in November last year. It was a big hit!! This game is so great. There are 3 ways to play it. The horse cards are beautifully illustrated and have lots of great facts about each horse on them. This game is so much fun for the whole family. In fact, I think I'm going to buy it for my 5 year old son. Every time we visit my neice, that's all he wants to play. It's a really fun game and a MUST for any horse lover.
- Promoting the Horse-related Art of Husbandry and Breeding
     By A264F805GPKF3E on 2005-11-01
For years I have tried to reproduce the fascinating world of horse breeding and training in my home, but this game makes it so much easier. The horses in the game are tiny and easily pushed around.
- Fun For the Whole Family!!

I purchased this game several years ago for my son who loves animals. The game quickly became a family favorite. As the kids grew older, we enjoyed the various game options. I highly reccommend this game for horse lovers as well as board game enthusiasts.
- Not for the suburbanites
     By A2FGGKBX1T8BE1 on 2003-02-27
Based on the reviews, I purchased this game for my 9 year old neice who "is into horses." Well, the suburban concept of "into horses" was not enough to make her like this game. She didn't relate to it, there were too many horses and the games did not grab her.
- Horsey Games
     By on 2004-12-31
I've had this game for a long time. It is a great game because it has 3 different games. It is also very educational because it has facts about the different horses. My brother also likes it. Younger kids might choke on the small peices though. I love to look at all the different horses too. one was even named after me! Overall this is a fantastic game and a must have for horse lovers world wide!
- I love how it is three games in one.
     By on 1999-07-25
