  • Good soundtrack but not 100% satisfying.

The songs are good and fun to listen to. They are the best of the best from all the songs that have come out over the past ten years. The only problem is that some of the songs are really short.

  • Disappointing re-released songs

    By A1CVUQU8RD1J5U on 2007-05-14
Want this CD? Willing to put up with re-released versions of all the Kanto and Johto songs such as the first two theme songs and miscellaneous tracks like Double Trouble? (I ask: WHY?!)

If you're a longtime fan, with CDs of 2.B.A Master and Totally Pokemon already in the collection, don't bother. Half of this CD's tracks are a waste of time; we've heard them all before! In fact, not even half of the music here is new material. Most of the new stuff is theme songs, which are also disappointing if you're looking for full 3 minute tracks. Some, like the Battle Frontier theme, only go for about 48 seconds. Tsk tsk; didn't Loeffler and Co bother to come up with more verses in the later seasons?

However, if you're a real enthusiast and you've signed all the petitions to get more CD's released; I suppose this is better than nothing, and it's funny listening to the guy in the Hoenn PokeRap mispronounce all the names. And the CD cover is prettyful. (lots of new poses for all your favourite monsters)

Unlike the first two CD's, there are NO lyrics provided, just updated info on who actually composed the theme songs (urging you to fix up your iTunes playlists). Still, I gave it three stars all the same; the tracks at the end make up for all the old stuff at the beginning. (And yes, I do realise that it's important to come back to the franchise's roots with the first couple of season's music such as the main theme song and the Rap at the end; but there's just a little too many from the first two CD's put on this one to make it actually logical...)

  • Medley of the years

    By A2ND2TSXNI457J on 2007-05-12
Pokémon X: Ten Years of Pokémon is, essentially, the "best of" in music since Pokémon was introduced. Some of the songs have already been released on CD, and only a few are never-before-heard, but the CD is still worth the wait.

The bulk of the CD contains the theme songs for each season of Pokémon so far, with my only concern being the length of these songs. Most of the themes are as short as they were in their respective season, and I know that extended versions are out there for most of the theme songs...but they are still great songs, short and all.

For anyone interested in Pokémon, this is a great buy. It's more of an expansion pack of songs then a complete CD, but it does have that fun appeal, which should be the goal for any CD.

  • Fun Pokemon Listening

    By A8Q0QB4QTQ7Q6 on 2007-08-23
My daughters and I love to listen and sing along to the 18 songs on this CD. Many of the songs will be familiar if you watch the shows and movies. This was the first Pokemon CD I've bought and it was a good choice because it has many fun & upbeat songs that we all enjoy.

  • Love It!

I bought this for my son (age 7) and it is his favorite cd to listen to...he is a Pokemon fanatic. It has all of the theme songs (except the new, Diamond and Pearl)and that is what he loves about it. We have other Pokemon cd's as well, but this one is one of the best!

  • Fun for Fans
    By A42XQIQYC631X on 2007-09-23
Although I already own every other Pokemon soundtrack and compilation disc ever made, including some that are not even licensed by Nintendo, I still purchased this CD, and I am thoroughly satisfied with it.
Yes, there are many tracks on this disc that are repeats from past CD's, but over-all, the new ones are worth it.
All-in-all I think that this disc is well-worth buying. An upbeat and fun CD to listen, it is great for the whole family of Poke-fans.

My boys (ages 4 & 7) love this CD and my husband and I actually don't mind listening to it either.

I'm not going to write a huge discription of the CD as someone else has already done that, but i am going to say that if you like Pokemon and the music from the series then this product is a "must have" for you.

  • Music from the first nine seasons of Pokemon
    By A1EEG7YJIYN60B on 2008-11-12
Pokemon X: 10 Years of Pokemon is a soundtrack CD that covers the first nine seasons of the Pokemon anime series. To represent the first season, we have the full-length original Pokemon theme, as well as the infamous "Pokerap." Both of these songs are also available on the Pokemon 2.B.A. Master CD.

Four songs are included for the Orange Islands season of Pokemon. They are "Pokemon World" (the theme song for that season), "2 B A Master," "Together Forever," and "Double Trouble (Team Rocket)." The last three songs on the list are all from the "Pikachu's Jukebox" segement, and they also all appear on the Pokemon 2.B.A. Master CD.

For The Johto Journeys season, only two songs are included: "Pokemon Johto" (that season's theme song) and "PokeRap GS." The next five seasons only have their respective season themes to represent them: "Born to Be a Winner" (Johto League Champions theme), "Believe in Me" (Master Quest theme), "I Want to Be a Hero" (Pokemon Advanced theme), "This Dream" (Pokemon Advanced Challenge theme), and "Unbeatable" (Pokemon Advanced Battle theme).

For the final season represented on the disc (Battle Frontier), there are five songs: "Battle Frontier" (season theme), "Hoenn PokeRap," "Best Friends," "Stay Together," and "Pokemon Go" (which is the first actual ending theme song for the English-dubbed version of Pokemon). From what I can tell, "Hoenn PokeRap," "Best Friends," and "Stay Together" were recorded specifically for this CD release.

When you listen to the CD from the beginning to the end, it's interesting to hear how the music of Pokemon has evolved sonically during its first ten years. The songs from the early years definitely have more of a late 1990's/early 2000's "teen pop" sound to them. In the later years, however, while you may still have some of that "teen pop" sound, the arrangements have been changed to give the songs a little more of a "rock" edge to them.

While the tracks on the first half of the disc are already on other Pokemon CDs, it is nice to have them included on one disc, along with the other songs that weren't already available elsewhere. I think this CD would be a good addition to the music library of a Pokemon fan, especially for one that has really enjoyed the music of Pokemon over the years.
