Dremel 750-02 Minimite 13,000 RPM 2 Speed 4.8-Volt Cordless Rotary Toolx$24.74

(91 reviews)

Best Price: $42.50 $24.74

Designed for drilling, sanding, shaping, detailing and other light-duty jobs, this compact, go-anywhere, use-anytime tool comes in extremely handy in and around the house. It features two speeds and can be used with any Dremel accessory bit with up to a 1/8" shank.

We started counting all the uses for this little dynamo, but we stopped at 967. We like it for delicate tasks and finer work because it isn’t as powerful as its big brothers, so it’s easier to control. It’s light, extremely maneuverable, the switch is exactly where you want it and heck, it’s just plain fun to use. It’s perfect for jewelry, electronics, tiny woodworking crafts like dollhouse furniture and other intricate hobbies. It uses Dremel’s wide array of bits, so there’s virtually no limit to what you can do with this. Sure, there are store brands on the market for less, but Dremel is king when it comes to rotary tools, and we think they outdid themselves with this one.--Kris Jensen-Van Heste MPN: 750-01 - UPC: 080596007508

  • MiniMite Mighty Handy

    By A1K867GR7WH3VS on 2005-10-03
It is the perfect tool to keep my dogs' nails from overgrowing. Just a few touches on the nails with the tool, my dog gets a treat for being patient about the chore, and the job is done.

  • Versatility goes cordless

    By A3VOQNXIX9Z5I3 on 1999-12-19
The cordless Minimite is a perfect compliment to Dremel's electric Moto-tools! This tool is great for quick jobs away from AC power. I recently installed car stereo speakers and the tool's small size, fast speed, and availability of bits made the speaker cutouts in a confined space quick and easy. I strongly recommend having a spare battery for minimum down time.

  • Dream tool for manicurist/crafter!

    By on 2000-12-02
I love this tool!! I didn't realize I needed it until I had it. As a manicurist, this is a less expensive, but better, alternative to the fancy "nail professional" drills/sanders (check your state laws before using it on clients). And there's no cord to get in the way!

As a crafter, I can't tell you how many times I've pulled this out to do the smallest things! So very convenient, and easy to store.

  • A REAL WORKER

    By A3MR51MDYU0KXJ on 2001-02-05
I bought one of these tools, when it first hit the street.Man was I surprised with the power. After about 2 years of serious duty I finally wore it out.The only down side was not being able to precisely control the speed. You cant go wrong here folks dremel has built a reputation on simplicity and reliability. This minimite is no exception and is definitely tool box worthy. Now get out there and grind, cut, polish something.

  • Great for My Use

    By AAPS5PB10XI6P on 2003-11-09
My dog's breeder recommended this model to use for keeping the dog's nails trimmed. Absolutely perfect for filing down her nails. I always put on a pair of gardening gloves (you know how puppies and dogs wiggle) and this cordless wonder works GREAT. Good price, great work. A very good buy.

The dependability of Dremel products makes the higher price more than worth it. I would like to see this particular tool offered with an accessory kit but there are ample accessories available.

  • My kids' toys have more power
    By A2NGKCIQPB4657 on 2001-05-28
Plenty of Power??? I don't think so. Mine has trouble cutting open a plastic 2 liter soda bottle.

Skip this one and go for the 7.2V model. It has the power you are looking for. Grinding out a fastener that snapped in a steel airplane model was no problem for this 7.2V model. Although, it still takes a good carbide bit for this tricky operation.

  • Great for black nails
    By A24TFMVTT5W91C on 2006-08-05
I bought this to care for the black nails of our dog. I can take very small amounts of nail off at a time, and the nails are smoothed as I go. I started using it on the guinea pig, too, and she likes it much better thatn clippers. The dremel is pretty quiet and runs for 15-20 minutes on one battery charge. It performs exactly as I hoped, and I'm very pleased.

  • Top Tool for Dog's Nails
    By A1TIIY2J6NVC6E on 2007-04-15
Rufus, our big red dog, screams like a baby whenever the nail clippers come out. His antics make clipping his nails impossible - you'd think we were cutting his leg off. We read that some people used a Dremel tool to do their dogs' nails, so after a little research, we got the 750-02 Minimite. It works like a charm. The abrasive disk is just the right size and the low speed works just right. A few millimeters each weekend and the dog hardly makes a sound when walking on a hard floor. Best of all, he doesn't mind having his nails done. This tool is perfect for our 80 pound dog. I like the grip and the rechargeable battery too. Highly recommended.

  • Dremel 750-02 MiniMite Cordless-Well Worth The Money
    By A1LR6UZ434X0I0 on 2005-08-30
The Dremel MiniMite Cordless Drill-Pet Nail Trimming Tool is a work-horse. An excellent buy for the money. Convenient because you don't get tangled up in the cord while trimming your pets nails - highly recommend this product to all pet owners!

  • Awesome tool
    By on 2002-07-10
I needed a little tool to carry in my tackle box to sharpen fishing hooks. I use a Dremel grinding stone to touch up the barbs and keep them sharp. Don't let this big little tool get away!

  • Podiatrist Recommended!!
    By on 2003-08-11
Believe it or not, my podiatrist recommended this gadget for trimming rough skin on my feet. It is not very powerful, which is perfect for this application. If it were too powerful... well, let's not think about that. But it's perfect for trimming excess dead skin, bunions, etc., on the feet. It may have other uses as well, but this is what I do with it.

  • Great
    By A1ZD1Q2J8CJHMW on 2005-04-19
I recently bought the Minimite and it works great. It has many uses for me and my wife. She likes to use it for sanding her bunions and her heels, she couldn't find anything that works nearly as good. I use it to sharpen the mower blades and all our knives.

  • Handy Tool
    By A3PK5SIEVTXUP4 on 2007-06-22
I got this specifically to trim our dog's nails. It does a great job for that... our dog didn't pull away like she did with nail clippers. One thing you might need to know is that the tool pictured is not what you will get. You will get the newer model (or at least we did). Be careful... batteries for the older model do not fit this new one and vise-versa. The batteries for the newer model are round, not square so make sure if you're buying an extra battery that you get the right one.

  • Useful Little Mite!
    By A3JWSCHXOJL9P4 on 2007-05-12
I owned a previous model of the Mini-Dremel and wanted another so I could have one upstairs and another downstairs. Many attachments available.

I mainly use the barrel sander attachment to -- believe it or not -- trim my parrot's toenails! I tried a number of different nippers and clippers, but it was a problem to know where to cut without making her bleed. With the Dremel, if I file her nail down a little too far I can stop before it is a big problem.

I recently bought the metal-cutting attachment for a specific project (not parrot-related!). These disks wore-out fairly quickly, but I was cutting hard wire with them and was pleased with their performance. Dremel supplies a little plastic carry case for the disks, which is nice because I won't be using them often and they were too expensive to just be kicking around the tool box.

The battery works for a long time on a single charge...I'd say at least 30 minutes. Hard to say exactly, because I've almost never run out of juice before getting done with a project. The battery on my original Minimite lasted many years before it needed to be replaced. Dremel continues to supply batteries for old models, which is good customer service and engendered my loyalty to the brand.

For major projects, you'll probably want a 'real' Dremel. But for occasional odd jobs, the Dremel Minimite is just the thing and a real value for the price.

  • Great for pet nails
    By A2DD2GY1O5RELW on 2006-01-06
Highly recommended for grinding dog nails. Our pets tolerate this method of nail trimming with much less anxiety than my efforts with clippers. Also useful for many other jobs requiring a small drill. Mine has lasted for about 4 years but now requires a new battery pack.

  • Great for Dog Nail Grooming
    By A6F32THLJ08SA on 2006-09-29
I've been using this tool on my dog's nails for the past 6 months and so far it's doing a great job. I use it about twice a month and the sanding disc it came with is not worn out yet. My dog donesn't have to get tangled by the cord since it's cordless. I find that a fully charged battery lasts at least 2 hrs with consistant grinding. The only draw back is that I have to position it a certain way against the nail. Otherwise, it the grinding action is not smooth. It would feel like the grinder keeps hitting hard bumps. Other than that, I am absolutely glad that I got this tool.

  • great new dremel
    By A2OAGCC1KRPDJM on 2007-02-11
I use the dremel for grinding the dogs toenails after I cut them and found the new dremel was so much faster and easier to use. In a flash (or touch) the edges are off the nails and the dogs do not mind because it is so fast. The new recharging system has been improved. I love the new dremel.

  • PERFECT FOR CARVING FOAM PUMPKINS
    By A1VVRE6L15FAKL on 2004-08-10
If you love carving pumpkings (especially foam pumkins) the way I do, then this tool is an absolute necessity. I use it specifically for scraping away the pumpkin husk in areas that are to have medium tones or for those tiny carving areas where its difficult to have control with an exacto knife. However, the battery doesn't last a real long time. For those 1-2 hour carving sessions, a replacement battery is a must, so one can be charging while you are using the other.

  • I have searched all over.........

  • Item not as pictured
    By A2SSLNCM6N6F37 on 2005-05-27
Careful...I bought this unit as my old one died....but I had two spare square battery packs and a charger that still worked....I bought this based on the picture and number 750D....what I got was the newer version 750-02 and my old square battery packs do not fit.

  • good quality for small jobs
    By A2N07TZLFCI0O9 on 2005-10-22
if you want a dremel tool for small jobs, this is great. If you want a tool for a project, or something where you will be using th tool a lot, get a corded dremel. The major advanages for the minimite are that it is cordless, and is quite inexpensive, but very high quality. The disadvantages are that first, the battery only lasts about 7mins on the higher speed, and that the top speed on a fully charged battery is less than half a corded dremel's top speed. for small jobs, it is perfect because you do not need to drag out a ccord, and bits can be changed without a wrench and on the go. if you need a demel for a project, you will go insane because it is always running out of juice.

Works great doing the dogs nails and cuts the time dramatically.

  • Dremel 750-02 Minimite
    By ANGGZS3IAI7TT on 2007-05-13
Great for "trimming" our dog's nails. 4/5 because I think the battery should last a little longer. Otherwise, a very nice tool.

  • great little tool
    By ARVEUHABT1RG2 on 2007-08-16
I purchased the minimite to dremel my dogs nails. Tool was light and had good power. When I received the dremel we trimmed 4 dogs nails and the battery did not wear down. I ordered the dremel through Amazon and it came so quickly.

  • Good for dog nails but messy
    By A3Q1SB44RC027U on 2007-10-25
A bought this to grind the dog's nails. They seem to tolerate it better than conventional clippers but you have to be very careful to rotate what nail you are doing so it doesn't get to hot and whatever you are working by will be covered with "nail dust" by the time you are done. On high speed the battery doesn't quite make it at full power to the end of the trimming but it continues on a bit slower to finish the job. BTW, for reference, I have a big German Shepherd so his nails might be a bit more than most people use it for. He lets me actually trim his nails (with much enticement) so all in all it's a win for the Dremel - easy to recharge too!

  • Handy tool for hobby use
    By A33BAYNFYC3DYX on 2006-01-30
I have always had a speed problem with the corded Dremels. I work in plastic models and the corded ones were too fast. They burned & melted plastic rather than cutting it. However, the minimite on low speed operates perfectly. It also allows a freedom of movement that the corded one's do not have. Ya don't have to keep messing with the cord. And it will take just about any mini-drill bit on the market. Not just Dremel's.
I do have 2 complains. 1. Battery pack isn't very hardy. I have had to replace the battery twice in the 6 months I've owned it. At $20 a pop, I have already paid more for battery packs than I paid for the tool. 2. The tool isn't balanced very well. Kinda hard to work with great dexterity with that heavy battery in the butt.
But I am glad I have the Minimite and will buy another when this one wears out.

  • Dog Pedicure
    By A12PHDFJIX4ROH on 2007-01-10
This dremel has been a true godsend for trimming dog nails. It was recommended by a vet. My husband has struggled with the larger dremel plus it creates more noise--scaring the dogs. The Minimite handles easily, is quieter, and the 2 speeds are sufficient for nail grooming. Great product.

  • Bought for filing dog nails
    By AXC4UZEXDRZJN on 2007-03-08
While I'm sure we'll find plenty of uses for this tool, it was purchased to file down our dog's nails who detests having them cut. It is perfect for quickly filing down the nails and without hardly any heat to the nail. No more parrot claws!
