Nordic Ware Cooling Rackx$9.50
    (16 reviews)
Best Price: $9.50
Made of sturdy, nonstick-coated metal with rubberized plastic feet that won't mar a counter or skid under the weight of a cake, this grid performs its essential task the way it's supposed to. It won't warp, cleans with a sponge or cloth, and keeps baked goods from developing soggy bottoms while cooling. --Fred Brack

Takes a lot to impress me By on 2000-06-26
Wow. I have not been impressed by a kitchen item for a while now. No kitchen with an avid baker should be without these cooling racks. The grid design saves my cookies from falling through the cracks. I am not sure what I have done without a nonstick finish on all my old racks? It is so nice to just plunk it in the dishwasher and not worry about it rusting either. Banana bread, a notorious "sticker" came right off with ease! Another wonderful aspect of these racks is the feet. I have all new surfaces in my kitchen and I worry about metal things sliding along the countertops and leaving scratches or marks. No fear of that with these either. With the grid design comes an extra strength. My heavy bundt cakes will not bend these. I have not been so excited about a new kitchen tool forever it seems. Nordic Ware has such a reasonable price for them that they would make great gifts for the baker in your life and will be a grand addition to any kitchen. I am convinced that they are a necessity. I just have to decide how many more I need....
Where's the Feet? By A20CQ20J30DJZT on 2002-06-23
When this rack arrived, it was already missing a foot. But that was okay with me, because the first thing I did was remove the two that were still on, and take them and the loose one in the box, and tossed them into the junk drawer. This rack fits perfectly in a cookie sheet, and makes a great draining/cooling rack for my deep fried foods and my roasts. The non-stick grid means all it usually needs is a quick rinse, but it's sturdy enough for a ride in the dishwasher.
This rack kicks butt! By A2PQRYN3P9BPB7 on 2001-09-23
OK, a cooling rack seems like a stupid thing to get excited about, but this thing rules. Most cooling racks have just horizontal bars, instead of the grid pattern on this one. The problem with the "horizontal" cooling racks is that when your cookies are a little soft, they tend to sag around the horizontal bars, and are hard to pull off later. The cooling "grid" keeps the cookies from drooping, so they stay a nicer shape, and can be easily removed. Also, when you're fiddling around with cookie placement on the rack, you can easily slide soft cookies in all four directions (top to bottom, side to side), without tearing the cookie or having it slip through the horizontal bars.
The protective feet are a joke! By A24FY1EBJ7EWLH on 2001-12-08
Half of the protective feet were missing when my 2 racks arrived! I thought about returning them, but realized the feet would just get lost anyways. I suppose a dish towel under the rack will have to suffice to protect my tabletop!
MINE ONLY CAME WITH 1 OF THE 4 PROTECTIVE FEET PADS By on 2002-09-07
I LIKE THE SIZE AND ITS A NICE PRODUCT, BUT IT WAS APPARENTLY JUST TOSSED IN A BOX BECAUSE 3 OF THE 4 WHITE PROTECTIVE FOOT PADS WHERE MISSING AND THERE WAS NO TAPE OR PACKAGING PROTECTION TO PREVENT THEM FROM FALLING OFF.THEY WHERE NOT GLUE ON, THE 1 WAS JUST STUCK ON SO THE MISSING 3 COULD EASILY HAVE FALLING OFF PRIOR TO SHIPPING AND I FEEL THAT PROMOTING THE PRODUCT STATING PROTECTIVE FEET IN THE TITLE IS VERY MISLEADING........
- ORIGINAL AND REPLACEMENT WERE BOTH CHIPPED AND FLAKING!
     By on 2003-01-29
Flaking teflon is thought to cause cancer. Both grids I received, the original, AND THE REPLACEMENT, had the NONSTICK COATING CHIPPED OFF/FLAKING OFF. Appropriate packaging by Nordic Ware may prevent the problem, but since, I have purchased a (unknowingly at the time) Nordic Ware pan that was "exclusively" made for Williams-Sonoma...I ordered 2 from them, and they too, with good packaging, had the nonstick coating chipped off. I now think the problem is with Nordic Ware's "quality"(haha) control. No more Nordic Ward products for this puppy. WITH THIS MANY PROBLEMS, I WOULD GIVE THIS PRODUCT 0 STARS, BUT THAT'S NOT AN OPTION.
- Best Ever!
     By on 2002-11-01
I bought one of these a couple weeks ago just because I needed one and it was convenient; no idea that it wasn't a normal cooling rack. Now I came back to buy two more to replace all my cooling racks. They're a larger size than normal, which is good. The nonstick surface is a nice feature, but what I really liked was the "grid" design-cookies don't look like they came from Salvidor Dali's kitchen any more. Forget about the "feet" thing - mine didn't come with any of the promised feet, and if it had I probably would have thrown them away anyhow. Highly recommend.
- Great Cooling Rack!
     By A25JCXLPM2JML0 on 2004-11-02
I like this cooling rack because it's very sturdy. I also like the grid design instead of just the single wires across, because, as other reviewers have noted, cookies and other things won't fall through. I've been looking for a good grid rack for a while, and I've seen similar ones for at least twice the price. As for those people who commented that they didn't get the protective feet, I just called Nordic Ware (you can check out their website) and a very nice woman said she would mail me some replacements. I am sure I will get a great deal of use out of this cooling rack, especially when I make my candies at Christmas.
- Great for cakes
     By A3QGUH72E1CC4H on 2001-07-18
This cooling rack is heavy-duty, easy to clean AND it has a nifty grid that doesn't cut into the surface of your cake. I also use it when I host parties to hold breads for slicing. Put the rack on your cutting board and the crumbs fall away from your bread. It makes for easy clean up all around.
- Nice Rack
     By AQL2WVOAADPE2 on 2002-12-24
Mine didn't have the protective feet listed in the name. Solid, and works well, but a bit pricey.
- Fine, altho small and no protective feet
     By A1UNFJE6W5I2LV on 2003-09-26
A nice product, although small--it isn't big enough to cool a full tray of cookies. Also, no protective feet as listed (no big deal, but the product listing should be changed). I returned mine, to buy the bigger size ...
- OK product, but not what is shown
     By A17RBVZX3VTNBW on 2005-01-21
The actual cooling rack is very different from the picture shown. As others have noted, it doesn't have rubber feet. Of course, when you get down to it a cooling rack is a cooling rack, and this one certainly looks built to last.
- Nordic Ware Cooling Rack
     By AU5AA7IRWSYJE on 2008-04-05
I really like this cooling rack. I was a little disappointed that it was made in Taiwan instead of the USA, like most of their products. But it is well made. But i am trying to buy only USA made products and i wish it would have said in the description that it was imported. I would have kept on looking.
- Not as advertised
     By AMP217NDHGWNF on 2008-04-09
There are two different cooling racks with the same part number. One is gridded with rubber feet and is 10 x 15.25. The other is not gridded, has no rubber feet and is 11.5 x 16.75. I ordered 2 from Amazon wanting the 10 x 15.25, which is the one described, to fit inside 2 pans I already own. I ended up with the larger racks, which I can't use for what I wanted them for. Both are pictured on Nordic Ware's website ([...]) for the part number 43342. I copied the second picture from their website and added it to Amazon...I see this as a Nordic Ware issue, not Amazon, and contacted them on their website.
- No rubberized protective feet
     By A4BZIPPBEWO67 on 2008-04-23
There were no rubberized protective feet as advertised. I had read this on the other reviews, but took my chances. I called the manufacturer, who was great, but they were unable to help me because there are no rubberized protective feet for this product.
