Fizz-Keeper Carbonation Preserverx$4.99
    (9 reviews)
Best Price: $4.99
This Fizz Keeper Pump and Pour restores pressure in your plastic soda bottles with each squeeze. Helps to keep soft drinks form going flat! Pump and pour flips up to pour.
Unless you're prone to malaria, it's a decent bet you won't finish a bottle of quinine-laced tonic water at one sitting--likewise, that bottle of sugar- and caffeine-free Coca-Cola that was brought to a Pepsi Lovers' picnic. And if there's anything sadder than a fizzless, half-filled bottle of cream soda taking up refrigerator space, please keep it to yourself. How to preserve the fizz in that 1-, 1.5-, or 2-liter bottle that wasn't finished? Jokari has created a solution with the Fizz-Keeper Pump & Pour, a simple device just over 3 inches tall that screws onto the bottle's neck, replacing the existing cap. By repeatedly squeezing the baglike bellows atop the unit until the sides of the plastic bottle (it's not for use with glass bottles) don't compress, you've effectively created an airtight seal and equalized the bottle's internal pressure. The pumping action can be pretty slow going, and the wait for the bulb to reinflate between squeezes can be frustrating, though the easy-to-flip release lever means the Pump & Pour need not be removed for the life of the bottle. As the name "Fizz-Keeper" suggests, it's all in an effort to ensure that Saturday's soda makes a gin and tonic effervescently refreshing, even on a Tuesday. --Tony Mason

Items Sold Were Defective As Per The Manufacturer! By A2CZF2SHY3EN3R on 2006-02-07
Very simply, I bought two of these during the Holidays for stocking stuffers. Each recipient said that the item broke within 2-3 weeks. The concept is great but the actual product is made from very thin plastic. Both times the product broke at the hinge, rendering it useless.
I called the Seller (Organize-Everything.com) and was told that they are unable to go beyond their 30 day replacement or return policy. Well, I am rather relentlous, and as a matter of principle I called the manufacturer. The manufacturer (Jokari) explained that they received a batch of defective product. They were very helpful and are sending the replacements.
No stars for the seller because they did not want to be bothered with having to replace a defective product that they knew was defective from all the phone calls they have received in the past months, and instead made me do all the leg work.
There is also something to be said about those of us who do early Holiday shopping in November, and are shut out by many sellers because the gift is not given until 30 days after purchase.
Fizz LOSER not fizz keeper! By A38SEQO7XECVPN on 2007-11-03
This is a bad concept from the start! Buy the Soda Dispenser The Soda Dispenser by Jokari instead. Anything that opens the soda bottle to atmosphere more than one time or pumps AIR into the bottle LOSES the fizz because air is MORE soluble in water than carbon dioxide is. The air that you let or pump into the bottle goes into solution in the formerly carbonated water and drives the carbon dioxide out of the water as a gas. THAT is how and WHY your lungs work. If this didn't happen you wouldn't be alive! Then, every time you tip the open bottle to pour out some of the soda, you also pour out all of the carbon dioxide gas that is on top of the soda in the bottle and let MORE fresh air into the bottle to drive even MORE carbon dioxide out of the soda liquid. In your body that is what's known as breathing! Furthermore, pumping air into the bottle with the pump action of this only makes matters worse because it forces even more air into the bottle to displace the carbon dioxide from the soda liquid. In your body that is what's known as artificial respiration! Water that is saturated with AIR doesn't taste fizzy, it tastes FLAT!
DON'T LET THE FIZZ FIZZLE By A2KFYAKTEIK79K on 2007-07-18
I used to buy my fizz keepers from the mall. Today, they are hard to find. God bless Amazon !
Saving Grace for this Frugal Shopper! By A2P5DV6F8RVFW6 on 2007-05-01
I've used the Fizz Keepers since about 2003, when I found them at Bed Bath & Beyond (sadly not stocking them anymore). Fizz Keepers are wonderful!! I have left 4 over in Ireland with relatives I frequently visit, 3 with my parents and keep at least 3 in my home. They have been stocking stuffers at Christmas for years! I'm able to buy the huge inexpensive store brand soda water or seltzer bottles to make wonderful Italian sodas w/sugar-free syrup, and the soda stays fizzy for weeks!!! One tip: when the soda gets down to about 1/4 left in the big bottle, I decant it into a regular soda bottle (12 oz) and use another Fizz Keeper. This ensures the soda stays fizzier even longer! I will admit that one (1) of my Fizz Keepers did break as someone else said, but it was because I roughly twisted the top when it wasn't firmly closed, breaking the little piece of plastic that "locks" the cap down. So, now I do understand that you need to carefully close the cap until it snaps and then twist away to remove the Fizz Keeper from the bottle. As a long-time user, these products are fabulous! I always travel with one so that I can stopper any size soda bottle and enjoy fizzy soda over whatever time I need. Great product!!
Currently the best gadget around in keeping the fizz. By A1R0LGBWP7GUZ2 on 2007-06-28
It works as described. But yes, it will break over time. However considering how much (flat) soft drink amount you may actually throw away over time because you didn't use a Fizz Keeper Pump & Pour; the pump may actually pay for by itself.
A good tip as another reviewer previously noted. When having about 1/4 soft drink left from an 2 liter bottle, pour it into a 20 oz. bottle and pump this one. It will prolong the soft drinks fizz.
