Best Price: $34.00 $17.38
Are you a tinkerer at heart? This pocket tool helps you become a Super Tinker anywhere! From the renowned company that created the Swiss Army Knife a century ago comes the Super Tinker, a complete set of tools for campers, hikers, boy scouts, and just about everyone else. Measuring 3-1/2 inches long, the Super Tinker is stylishly cased in a timeless red housing with the familiar Victorinox logo on the side. More importantly, the unit contains more than a dozen stainless-steel and plastic tools appropriate for just about any occasion. The standard tools include a large blade, a small blade, a can opener with a small screwdriver, a bottle opener with a large screwdriver and wire stripper, and a small set of scissors. And that's just the beginning, as the Super Tinker also offers a reamer with a sewing eye, a Phillips screwdriver, a hook, a toothpick, tweezers, and a key ring. In short, there's no better accessory for camping, hunting, and fishing trips, along with general around-the-house tasks. As with all Victorinox items, the Super Tinker is made to exacting standards, with dozens of individual parts and hundreds of steps going into its construction. Victorinox attends to every detail, from selecting the finest materials to performing the final inspection. In addition, each individual tool has been hardened in a different way to stand up to its designated use. Outfitted with a plastic housing, the Super Tinker carries a lifetime warranty. About Swiss Army Knives In 1884, Swiss cutler Karl Elsener set up shop in Ibach-Schwyz, installing a waterwheel in Tobelbach Brook to run his grinding and polishing machines. Thus began what would become the international brand name Victorinox, a combination of Victoria, for Elsener's mother, and "inox," or stainless steel. Today, Victorinox produces watches, luggage, clothing, and, famously, Swiss Army Knives. The original product dates to 1897, when Elsener patented the Swiss Officer's and Sports Knife he supplied to the Swiss Army. Following World War II, American servicemen and women shopping in PX stores shortened the name to Swiss Army Knife, which lives on in English-speaking countries around the world and has become a metaphor for versatility.

Great knife. By A2NK438ZN6DSAF on 2004-07-21
I've purchased several Victorinox Swiss Army Knives and this one is by far my favorite. I've had it for over ten years and it is still going strong. My one complaint in general with buying pocket knives is that you always end up with at least one tool that you don't need and at least one tool that you wish you had. This knife has 3 tools in its back, 2 of which I never really use. One of those is the hook thing. I think you can use it to hook on to a piece of wire that is wrapped around something heavy then you use the rest of the knife as a handle. Haven't had the opportunity yet. The other is the sharp thing with the eyelet. Has something to do with being able to work with leather, I think. Haven't had the opportunity. The other tools all come in very handy although I wish the phillips screwdriver was more conveniently located. Use caution if you need to try to get much torque using the screwdrivers--because they don't lock, they can close on your fingers if you are not careful. And the tool I wish it had . . . the saw. One of my former swiss army knives had the saw blade, which worked incredibly well at cutting small pieces of wood and that sort of thing. In general, cannot complain at all about the quality of the knife; the blades open and close smoothly and the knife has served me well for a decade.
Don't leave home without it! By A19BA4RPOKQXZH on 2004-04-30
I've had this knife for over a year, and I don't know what I did without it. I started carrying this with me everywhere I went, and it's helped me out more times than I can remember. I never realized just how helpful a Swiss Army knife could be until I got this. Need something cut here, need to loosen or tighten a screw there, tweeze a splinter out of my hand, you name it. I've purchased one for my dad, and, although reluctant at first, he feels the same way I do now. This is a definite no-brainer of a purchase, as far as I'm concerned. I'm only sorry that I can't give it more than 5 stars.
GREAT PRODUCT - HORRENDUS AMAZON PACKING! By A371D8565I2R4H on 2006-09-21
This classic Swiss Army product needs no intro. Well made and highly functional all the way around. 5 stars for the knife. Minus 10 stars for Amazon's wasteful packing!!!
My knife, a sturdy product about one inch by 3 inches in size, was packed in a cardboard box nearly 100 times its size with a five foot roll of "Fill-Air" inflatable packaging to "protect' it. Come on Amazon. Get with the program! This is such a waste! A small padded box is all that was necessary for this. Ever wonder why Amazon posts ever increasing sales but can't translate that into profits? If I were an investor, I would start with the packing policy as my demand for change.
Very useful tool By A3M6GASJN4TGLM on 2006-01-01
I like this pocket knife because it is slim enough that I can attach my keys to it and it would not make my pocket bulky. It has all the essential tools that I need.
The only problem I have with this knife is the location of the phillips screwdriver. I find it very difficult to use a screwdriver like that, especially in my case where I have my keys attached to the knife.
I love this knife... By ANMVX3DEWVM3L on 2006-02-02
This knife is really just my toothpick holder, my favorite feature by far. I've used half of the features so far at one time or another, but I'd have to say it's nice to have the other half around just in case. Nice knife, well worth the price...
- A little thick
     By A30MWG2ONYTU8Q on 2006-11-02
Like ALL Swiss Army knifes you can't go wrong with one.
This one has all the stuff I wanted on it BUT it is a little to thick.
I still love it tho, just wish it was a little thinner.
Great Knife.
- A classic!
     By A1O3LAET0L3BHU on 2007-07-15
This is a great, all-around handy pocket tool for anyone. I've had the same one for 32 years, and it still is going strong. Victorinox builds them good. :-) I gave one to my son on his 11th birthday and he is very proud of his, uses it all the time.
- Not as good as I expected I'll stick with Wenger
     By AQZ1WKIJT3ZTT on 2007-01-11
I own many Wenger Swiss Army knives and for some reason (maybe the price) I thought Victorinox were better so I bought this when they went on sale - I was dead WRONG! They aren't as good in some important ways and I'll give you a perfect example. The scissors on this knife use a cheap piece of bent spring steel for the spring-back action. The Wengers use a solid piece of stainless steel that acts as a lever for the spring-back action - a night and day difference in their usability and longevity. Several of my comparable Wenger of this size have a locking main blade.
I'll stick with Wenger from now on.
- Lives up to expectations.
     By A1IBFNC6LSLH5S on 2005-09-19
What can I say, it's a swiss army knife. It lives up to the quality and expectations you would have. Plus it eliminates the cork screw and repalces it with a Philipshead screwdriver.
Great value.
- Great knife, a little big
     By A2TUWIZQ1Q4DZW on 2006-08-09
This is a very handy knife; I enjoy carrying it. It has the best combination of tools in my opinion. Victorinox knives are superior to Wenger. The tools have a better "snap" to them.
The only downside is that it's a little on the big side. I wish they'd leave off a couple of the tools and make the other tools a little smaller, and make the whole thing smaller in the process.
- I Really Like This Knife
     By A3Q42LUVU8DAZ1 on 2006-10-24
I really like this knife because its small and has a lot.I didnt know about other types like the "camper" and the "ranger" and the huge one that i defenetly dont need.So while at walmart, shoping for camping supplies (Buy Scouts),i saw the knife section.I knew i needed one for scouts so we checked out the swiss army knives. The only ones there were the classic and super tinker. So i chose the super tinker and had my knife.I really recomend the camper or super tinker to all people who want a swiss army knive.(the only differences are the "Camper" has a mini saw enstead of mini scissors, and has a small drill enstead of a philips screw)
- nice one when you are travel out
     By A1DDW4GCYC3NHA on 2006-10-29
I am using this product new from amazon and it is really a useful product.
I more often use this when I am out. Small and compact and solve the purpose

Lots of nice gadgets on it and the receiver loved it.
- Good tool in a pinch.
     By AZRT6I5A5B1HU on 2007-01-18
I used a similar tool to this one while working as a groundskeeper at a veterinary hospital. It comes in handy for every task from changing lightbulbs in outbuildings when a regular screwdriver is never available, to clearing grass from under a lawnmower deck. A good tool, and more Swiss Army style knives should consider the replacement of the useless corkscrew with a handy Philips driver.
I have no complaints.
- Love this knife
     By A2FXMO4K0VYUSL on 2007-03-08
This is my second Tinker, and my fourth Swiss Army Knife. This knife has proven to be very useful on numerous occasions and has the right combination of tools for the average urban user. Screwdrivers, can opener, blades, tweezers are among the most useful to me.
- Very handy
     By ANS1JBFLGILMF on 2007-05-13
I keep this pocket knife attached to my key chain. It has come in handy at work where I work in I.T. The screws and knife help me pick open boxes, get into the computers, and take apart laptops. I have not used all the tools on this pocket knife, but I'm sure one day it will come in handy.
It's hard to tell from the picture, but it is not small. It's actually quite "large". I would say it is the size of your palm and not something you would want to keep on a daily key chain.
I recommend that everyone carry around a pocket knife!
- Classic!
     By A1R2CKCOSFUG6M on 2007-06-20
This is one of the classic Swiss Army Knife. You can't go wrong with Swiss Army Knives. Please don't go for cheap imitations. Buy the real thing. It'll be worth your money and will last you a lifetime. Recommended!
- An absolutely necessary tool
     By A10C27QO3Z3CK0 on 2008-01-10
This is my favorite tool. I always carry one. And I keep a spare, because I do occasionally lose one. I like this model because I don't need a corkscrew. The only blade I haven't used is the "hook disgorger"--but I'm guessing that one of these days I'll need it, too.Victorinox Swiss Army Deluxe Tinker, Red
- great knife for the money
     By AUA4OL2KG93YD on 2008-06-25
Have had a standard tinker for about 15 years now; still in great shape except. Bought this one because they finally replaced the corkscrew I never used with a phillips screwdriver that I will use. Just the right size for pocket carry.
- The Perfect Pocket Knife
     By A1UNBW6S1QD89O on 2008-07-02
I love this knife. It's very high quality and it has everything I need for 99% of my every day chores. It comes very sharp out of the box and it's easy to sharpen when it gets dull. Highly recommended for anybody who wants to carry a high quality, practical knife.
- My favorite Swiss Army Knife
     By A2QMNYDC8IAYD2 on 2005-11-20
I have had a Super Tinker for 15 years or so and it is great. The scissers are far superior to those on Wenger knives(which work off the mainspring rather than a separate leaf spring) and are the tool I use most. I have only had to replace the spring once over the course of those years and much use. The spring is less than two bucks at a Remington store.
I also like this model because the corkscrew is replaced with a much more useful Phillips head screwdriver. The knife has a collection of useful tools and a reasonable weight. Some of the knives become too cumbersome when they have feature after feature.
My old Super Tinker does not have the carrying hook. The toothpick and tweezers are also long gone. I am buying a new, shiny one for myself and a couple for gifts since this price is about a third less than I paid all those years ago.
- Great Pocket Knife! Bigger than expected
     By A2B23S1CR0JTP2 on 2006-12-21
Really great pocket knife. Amazon really tells you everything there is to know. But this thing is pretty big... I thought it was going to be fairly miniture. Its a great knife but bigger than expected. Still love it :) And it got here 2 days early! Thank you Amazon :)
- VERY NICE!
     By A1M8VAR3XFONBQ on 2007-01-09
Purchased this for my husband and he commented why didn't he had one before. He liked that it's very useful and handy in so many ways. What else can we expect from a good brand except good quality!
- Good buy
     By A1HX74E3W1PAAG on 2007-01-10
Overall I'm very satisfied with this product. It did not have a cork-screw like my earlier "Champ" knife, but it's good for most purposes.
- good product
     By A1PIIKO0XXD2GB on 2007-02-07
I like it. i am pretty much satisfied. It is a bit heavy, but very compact and good to have one.
- Swiss Army Knife - Super Tinker
     By A2W82PYJABMRGF on 2007-02-08
This is a great knife. I have been using this model or a very similar one for 30 for years, and have worn out the large blade because of sharpening them too much. The only problem I have ever had with this knife is that the spring on the scissors sometimes comes out or gets out of alignment, which makes them difficult to use.
- Nice Knife
     By A3LKJLM396E8X on 2007-03-08
I bought this Swiss Army knife as a gift for my husband and he loves it. He uses it all the time. The only downside is that it is a bit heavy when he carries it in his pocket.
- Swiss Army Knife tinker
     By A31GZFSM2TGZ2B on 2007-03-22
Excellent knife, I carry it w/me all the time. Very useful.
- Solid Knife; casing easily scrathced, though
     By A3DELVP5SK830X on 2007-04-12
This is a solid knife - what do you expect, it is a Victorianox. The scissors are very good and it feels very sturdy. My one complaint, the reason I can't give it a 5, is because the red casing of the knife tarnishes increadibly easily. After one day in my pocket, the case was scratched up all over. It is not like an iPod where you can get a plastic protector. That is my only problem with this product.
- Original product is the best
     By A53REZS1UR8TC on 2007-07-09
This Swiss Army knife was bought as a gift, and the recipient was very happy with the product. It was exactly as advertised and is very useful. Some of the parts are confusing to open up, but once opened, are great.
