  These jewel cases are compact and durable (considering how easily most CD cases break). Two packs of these can hold CDs from a 50-spindle pack. They're great space-savers. One warning: they are so thin, that if you're looking for jewel cases to replace broken ones for music or video games, you won't have space for the booklets (music lyrics or video game instructions). I tried to use some cases for my old video game CDs and they don't shut properly with the booklets inside. Most of the thinner inserts will fit, though. As far as using them for spindle CDs, I will definitely buy more of these.

  These have all the attributes you would expect from high quality Jewel Cases. They are sturdy and substantial enough to protect the CDs inside. The hinges and clasps work smoothly so the case snaps closed and stays closed, but doesn't fight you when you want to open it. The center hub holds the CD securely so it doesn't rattle around inside, but releases it easily when you want to take the CD out.

  I can, however, confirm the experience of some the other reviewers. I purchased two 25-packs... and in each there was one damaged case. One had a 2-inch long crack in it's face, but was still perfectly usable. The second had a broken hinge which would have made the case DOA but I was able to repair it with some Duco cement. My feeling is that they are inexpensive enough so that a 4% damage rate is acceptable. (By the way, the package comes enclosed in a cardboard sleeve and shrink-wrapped, so if you were to purchase these in a brick-and-mortar retail store, you couldn't inspect them first as one reviewer has suggested.)

  One other fact about Slim Jewel Cases bears mentioning. They don't have spine labels (the label on the edge of the case). You either have to shuffle through them when you're looking for a particular CD, or do what I do and make your own spine label from a stick-on label cut to size with an Exacto knife and a straight edge. That way, you can store twice as many CDs in a regular CD storage rack.

  Buying your CDs in spindles and protecting them with these cases allows you to conserve both funds and space! What's not to love?

  If you're going to save money buying CDs in bulk spindles, you're going to need cases. Look no further. These Memorex cases are not only the cheapest cases I've come across but they look great and, at half the size of normal cases, can store double the CDs in the same space. I must add that these are not only the best jewel cases but also the best slimline cases - the clasps on these are very good (better than, for example, the Imation cases) and I've never had any break on me. If they're in stock, buy a few packs!

  This is a great product for those of us who buy the spindal packs of cd's. These cases are great because they are so slim. I was able to put 2 cases in my cd stand where i used to be able to only put 1. They don't have spots for thick books and they are fragile (my daughter broke one by dropping it one the floor when it was open). But overall these are a great buy. Buy 2 packs.

  These are very resistant to cracking, and are very inexpensive. They are HALF the thickness of an ordinary CD case, DOUBLING the amount of CD's that your rack can hold, and taking up less space on your desk and being less cumbersome. They are highly useful, and are a bargain at this price of just 20 cents each!

  These jewel cases are a very good deal. usually 10 cases cost 5 bux but you can get 25 for the price of ten! they break under stress or if you drop them, but the low price makes up for that. i've only broken like 3 out of the 25. the only complaint i have with them is that ... can not keep them in!

  Like most of the others who reviewed these jewel cases, I found 2 broken ones. The first was the top one, which was totally cracked. And the second was in the middle. Even bending the cracked ones they seemed pretty sturdy. One reason may because they had both my jewel cases and a 100 pack of CDR spindle in the same box...

  Look at it this way, if you buy a spiral of cds than you save a whole lot of money. And if you buy them seperate with cases than it will be more than 75% more than the cost of the spiral. In other terms, a spiral of 50 is $... but buying them with cases would be $... for 50. So you save alot. SO when you buy the cases you are saving yourself from going crazy over the many cds that are lying around the house. Look at the price. Everyone who can afford to buy a empty cd's can afford this. If you are reading this trying to decided if you want to buy it tham, go ahead and buy it and eat at home rather than spending the money at Burger King.

  These Memorex jewel cases are fine and good for the price; however, in answer to my fears, they are not a type of item which I will again order through mail order. When I opened the pack, I found two cases badly damaged. Being that there are 25, it wasn't worth my time and effort to send the whole package back...This is an item best purchased in a store where you can examine before buying. I wouldn't purchase eggs online either
  
  
• AMAZON NEEDS TO PACKAGE FRAGILE ITMES BETTER!

  Well, I ordered 2 of these (2X25 = 50) haha...anyways...one pack seems to have survived the trip trough what seemed to have been Iraq or somewhere in the middle east. The other pack wasn't too lucky, 4 DOA (broken beyond recognition), 1 Injured (cracked but still usable), & 20 clean and crisp (OK). I paid for 50 and only received 45 that are really in a usable shape. NO way am I going to return for a replacement or exchange, not worth the time and effort. I paid $10 for both, one of these at OFFRICE DEPORT goes for $12.99 so I guess it's still a good deal considering lost some in shipment to me. All in all they are cheap at amazon but the time and risk ehhhh. Maybe it's better to pay a higher price at your local PC/Audio/Video store and get a mint clean full box.

  before buying this product, i read some of the reviews. after reading them, i was thinking.. hrm, should i really buy this or not. because most had said that a few had been broken. well, i opened up both packages today, and not one was broken out of either package. 50/50 cd cases are in perfect and useable condition. i would deffinitly buy these again

  I've used these for 6 months with no problems. Quality control is excellent and so far none have broken. They have tabs to holds CD labels and so I've taken to moving store-bought CDs & DVDs to these and transplanting the original labels. The difference is that these are only 1/2 as thick, so the space savings is worthwhile. For disks I don't care much about, I use cardboard sleeves.

  I bought two packs (total 50) when the item was on sale for $5.99 with free shipping.
  As another reviewer said, this is not a good mail-order item and you should probably expect some of your shipment to come broken. Among my 50, 5 was broken, but I still think it is a good deal to get 45 slim jewel cases for $12 or so.

  These little cases are great.They are space saving,small,big enough to fit a title paper in the front.I use these things more than big cases(they break too easily and use 3x more space).Plus,they have a low price.

  I like keeping all my stuff in one place, but don't like CD folders, so these slim cases are great. I accidentaly sat on one of them and although it did crack, the case didn't break, and the cd was fine. All in all, a great product.

  These are the basic clear cd and/or dvd SLIM JEWEL CASES that you are looking for. They are not as easily breakable as other brands. They are NOT recyclable.

  As your DVD/CD collections grow, these are ideal for protecting and storing your "treasures". Easy to open and take up little storage space. The center lock tab is secure but allows you to remove the discs from the case with ease.

  These slim jewel cases by Memorex provide sturdy protection for CDs; but they can also store DVDs as well as CD-Rs, DVD-Rs, and more! I have been fortunate in that the cases I bought never cracked when I tried to open them. Could that be because I'm a 90 pound weakling? SMILE Well, I doubt it--I think these are well constructed. They hold together for years at a time and that's great.
  
  Moreover, these slender jewel cases provide excellent storage for media and they measure roughly less than half the width of the older, original jewel cases that seem far too wide and "fat" today. You can stick a "post-it" note to the front of the jewel case to indicate what's on the disc inside, too. These jewel cases can be storing discs on bookshelves, cabinet shelves or whatever.
  
  They provide you with colorless plastic cases and a slightly frosted bottom for the case. The center hub keeps each disc firmly in place inside the plastic case, too. That's a great added feature--and you can also see the disc being stored without having to open the jewel case. They certainly aren't ugly!
  
  Overall, I highly recommend this CD/DVD jewel cases for anyone who wants compact yet sturdy storage for their media. Use these in good health!
