Chasing the Ghostx$13.98
    (67 reviews)
Best Price: $14.99 $13.98
“chasing the ghost” is haunting and captivating, with an essence that cuts to the core. Its hypnotic lull of orchestrated sounds and heartfelt emotion reveal a journey reaching deep into the psyche that will grab you and not let go. Recognized as innovators in sound, Collide prefer to cut their own path. This album, although decidedly different from their previous CDs, once again treads on new ground, combining new elements into a powerful whole.

In the river of darkness there is a light By A3KGYTO6CF8MGF on 2003-11-29
For the longest time I've been wanting to express my feelings towards this extraordinary record and have failed miserably at every thwarted attempt. There's simply no just way to articulate how wonderful it is for me to have this unparalleled masterpiece in my collection (I actually feel honored) and even now I'm at a loss for words. At this point, depletion has taken over and I'm at my lowest low with frustration but I'm determined to take a pathetic shot at praising Collide's most accomplished effort to date because this truly is a work of art. I've owned 'Chasing The Ghost' for well over a year now and its been in heavy rotation ever since. It's hands-down my favorite album and nothing's come remotely close to outdoing that position. Many people describe their music as erotic and I'd have to agree with them. KaRIN's voice is like a dark siren call that's seductive and distinctly alluring as her ethereal singing style caress the senses with poetic lyrics and beats laced with trance-like quality. As much as I love their debut, 'Beneath The Skin', and their latest release, 'Some Kind Of Strange', 'Chasing The Ghost' is lifetimes ahead of them both and far less alternative. Collide's remix excursion with 'Distort' apparently set the groundwork for a more electronic-based sound that fuses guitars and drums with a dancier EBM flow that's incredibly hypnotic. Collide (a two person group: kaRIN - voice/lyrics, and Statik - "noise") may never garner the inconceivable attention and recognition they deserve but, in my eyes, they will forever remain one of the world's greatest Goth bands. The melodies are all unforgettable and they never cease to draw me in deep as they run with remarkable consistency. And while every track is beyond amazing, none other has surpassed the trip-hop of "Razor Sharp" as my all-time favorite Collide song. This is sure going to be hard to exceed.
KaRIN And The White Rabbit Collide On The Way To Wonderland By A141HP4LYPWMSR on 2006-03-23
If Tim Burton remade the film 'Alice In Wonderland', 'Chasing The Ghost' would be the soundtrack. With its slow, melodic pace and electronic dissonant sound evoking a near trance-state, the listener is progressively hypnotized with each successive track moving you deeper and deeper into a dreamy, surreal world of multi-layered shadow.
KaRIN is not so much singing, but whispering to us to follow her on a journey down the rabbit hole. It has a somewhat disquieting affect, as though someone else is listening in and she doesn't want them to hear.
All -10 tracks- work well together as they seamlessly weave there way through the ever-shifting darkness. I particularily enjoyed -track 4- 'Dreamsleep', -track 5- 'White Rabbit' (great cover of the Jefferson Airplane classic) and -track 8- 'Monochrome.'
So turn out the lights and sit back and enjoy. No need to light any candles, the Cheshire Cat will arrive shortly and his glowing eyes and wide, mocking grin will provide all the illumination necessary.
Good tunes, good beat, good Lord let's eat! By AGCJ9XJACYOXQ on 2002-05-05
For pure computer pop, "Chasing The Ghost" is dang sexy. As another reviewer stated, this album does have possibly the greatest CD cover ever, a less abstract spin on the Dave Mckean style.kaRIN's (her spelling, folks) vocals are sultry, and the effects don't overwhelm the beauty of her voice. Sounds like confession and afterglow at the same time. Plus, she's singing good lyrics: "Your wings are tired / you can not get there from here / where you aspire / you can not fly there from here." Got it, take the bus. The melodies throughout the CD are laced with Middle Eastern flavor. Statik gives the whole thing a decadent, exotic vibe. William Faith (Faith and The Muse) lends guitar on the tech-a-delic cover of Jefferson Airplane's "White Rabbit." If Morocco is one day populated entirely by robots, Collide's music will be their version of Mozart. Since the songs all have a similar style (light synth drums, gently sung vocals, multiple keyboard tracks), it's hard to list standouts. For that reason, if you like one song, you'll like the rest. There's already a band called Android Lust, but Collide's music exemplifies the term. If you ARE an android, don't play "Chasing The Ghost" if you have to be up early the next morning.
like you want to believe By AXFI7TAWD6H6X on 2004-04-24
I finally got around to buying Collide's "Chasing the Ghost". I bought their last studio album "Some Kind of Strange" several months ago and liked what I heard. I was quickly reminded of Switchblade Symphony and Curve with its sensual vocals and trip hop-influenced grooves. I had been putting off "Chasing the Ghost" for awhile because I kept finding cds that I really wanted. I finally got "Chasing the Ghost" in the mail yesterday and have been listening to the cd non-stop. I absolutely love kaRIN's sensual vocals. She reminds me of Toni Halliday of the band Curve as well as Lucia Cifarelli of KMFDM/MDFMK/Drill fame. As good as "Some Kind of Strange" is, I find myself enjoying "Chasing the Ghost" slightly more. I was rather blown away with the duo's cover of Jefferson Airplane's "White Rabbit". When I first listened to the song, I didn't recognize the song but I knew I had heard it before and then I looked on the back of the cd and saw it was the old Jefferson Airplane song. Collide gives a darker edge to the psychedelic classic rock song. I thought it was cool that Faith and the Muse's William Faith and Monica Richard contributes on the album for a couple of tracks. William Faith contributes his guitar playing on "White Rabbit" and "Dreamsleep" while Monica sings background vocals on "Monochrome". All those songs are great songs. kaRIN sounds incredible on all the songs. I particularly loved listening to her sing on "Razor Sharp" and "Dreamsleep", two of my personal songs on the cd. Statik does an equally great job giving the music that dark, sensual, electronic edge. Collide is truly one of the better up and coming neo-goth bands that exists today.
Not quite what I expected - but it impresses anyway! By A1OPESKKD75GYU on 2000-10-31
I was fortunate enough to receive a promotional copy of this album before the release date. Some people might argue that five advance days mean nothing in the grand scheme of things, that it hasn't had enough time to soak in. I would argue that five days of nonstop listening is more than enough. I think I should clarify that I'm a huge Collide fan. Goth music in general doesn't cut it for me, but this duo's unique electrogoth sound moves me like no other. So I have to mention that I have a slight bias toward this album before even hearing it; although I know Collide is far from perfect, and I've criticized some work in the past, I had a feeling from the start that Chasing the Ghost will be good. Statik's extensive production work with such groups as Love & Rockets, Powerman 5000, and Eve 6, among others, leads to a very crisp sound quality. It fits the music, which is itself less raw and jagged than on past albums. Even though Chasing the Ghost dares to experiment more with guitars and exotica - creating a wider, more general appeal - the mellow/dance element remains a dominant force. kaRIN still has the voice of an (as the cover art suggests) angel, and my wish has come true - her voice is brought to the front of the mix, giving it a larger role than on Beneath the Skin. I must admit, I love Collide's earlier output and was hoping for something along those lines, but this more emotional and musically sophisticated release, while not quite in the style I expected, made my jaw drop anyway. Great artists are those who can reinvent themselves, after all, and Collide has done just that without losing an iota of appeal. As I said, the dance elements are still there, and are especially present in the wicked, percussive groove of "Transfer." But Chasing the Ghost has much softer moments, as in the trip-hop influenced, crooning nuances of "Razor Sharp." And "Ocean," one of the most dynamic tracks on the album, combines laid-back 'verse' segments with atmospheric and vocal-driven choruses; it's sure to be a hit. The louder/noisier moments do not dominate the album, by any means - Chasing the Ghost still remembers Collide's mellow roots. Nonetheless, tracks like "Dreamsleep" have occasional bursts of grinding guitar activity. No, it's not like P5000 - the riffs on "White Rabbit" are tasteful and muted; they only flesh out the track, not mar it. However, the best moments on the album are by far the exotic ones. "Halo" comes to mind immediately - it uses a sitar (the Indian equivalent of a guitar) to back up kaRIN's vocals, and the sweeping string/electronics combination is unforgettable. Collide claims that making this album was a torturous process. I can believe it. The pure emotion infused within each track, the precise timing and placement of the songs, the impeccable vocals - these all reflect love and effort, two qualities that cannot be faked. Although this statement may not carry as much weight as I would like after only three albums, I have to say it: Chasing the Ghost is the best Collide album, by far. It's well worth the wait and the money. I only hope Collide continues to raise the bar with each release, as it evidently did with this one.
- Great Follow-up...
     By A251TKQQKFBIE5 on 2000-11-18
I see that an earlier reviewer pretty much said everything I would have said on this review... so I'll keep this simple. It's not Beneath the Skin. But after listening to this a few times I'm glad it's not. Collide hasn't quite reinvented themselves with this release, but have done some revamping to their sound and musical structure. Some of the intensity is gone. I miss it but I'll live... and I still have Beneath the Skin to listen to when I need that power noise boost. CtG has a much more seductive, emotional, and exotic feel to it (especially in Halo [great sitar] and Razor Sharp [my personal fave on the album]). There are moments here that will melt you to your chair if you're as spiritual with your music as I am. Altogether, Chasing The Ghost is yet another beautiful, 5-star album from Collide... which leads me to really question why there's still so many millions of people out there that have never heard of this incredible group. Buy this CD now. Otherwise you're missing out on something truly spectacular.

I got this cd without ever hearing a single song of collide. i read about them in a magazine (dark realms) and i just thought "wow, i have to check out this band". i ordered this cd and fell in love. Chasing the Ghost is amazing. It's haunting, it's seductive, it's emotional, making it a great listen. Wings of steel is probably one of my favorite songs on the album. The sounds of the rain and thunder at the beginning of the song are a perfect touch, added to the whole "gothickness" of this particualar song. kaRIN's vocals are beautiful. It really adds to the mood of the whole cd, making it even better and more enjoyable to listen too. Chasing the Ghost is a wonderful cd, and everyone should at least check it out, because if you dont, you are truely missing out on an amazing industrial/gothic band.
- SHEER BRILLENCE (and then some)
     By AFT6HJ1ALIWZ2 on 2002-08-03
Normally I dont write album reviews, but this is a truely remarkable album. There should be a warning sticker on the cover saying that it is more addictive than crack cocaine- yes, boys and girls it is that good.If you like-Faithless, Sisters of Mercy, Massive Attack, Delerium, Portishead, Garbage or Curve you will more than love this. The CD combines an absolutly gorgeous female voice with stunning soundscapes and grooves which hit you in various ways. The closest that can be compared to is Curve, who despite my great love for have well and truely been knocked off there perch. Dont pass this album up!
- Collide's Kiss
     By A3AU58KA27DH8P on 2003-09-30
So you want to know about this album. Well, after being introduced to Collide (www.collide.net) I found music that brings me to another level. This album was my first taste. Like your first taste of love. When you take that first bite, you want more and more. In general this album is not what you would expect. kaRIN and Statik have managed to capture mulitple influences and put them all together in one album. You might ask, who can I compare this band too. That is a hard question to answer. Take all the passionate emotion in you, mix it with angelic vocals and creative sounds and rythms and you will find yourself chasing down the sound that is Colldie. Like a ghost, the music will haunt you,and you will want more. If you like music that is dark and powerful, sensual and alluring, erotic like the kiss of a vampire, then maybe, you should click the buy button and when you get the CD, sit back and enjoy the sounds of Collide. - Pop meet Goth, Goth Pop
     By A2SQ3FN10ZF2JH on 2005-06-05
Take Avril Lavigne in ten years when she is trying to reinvent herself and you have Collide. Replace her guitar with that annoying reverb vocal effect that Cher made so popular a few years back and you have what I call Goth Pop.
Really, by the time I got to song 3 I was totally annoyed and was wondering how much the resale record shop would give me for it.
- Eww
     By A2W7ZC4SCWG1GI on 2006-12-26
I bought this album because it was recommended to me on Amazon, and many customers wrote reviews saying it's good. It turns out to be a mistake. I got the album on Christmas and I was looking forward to listening to the songs. I listened to the first six songs, and I was greeted with a singer who sings like Britney Spears and noise in the background. I'm pretty sure I sing better than kaRIN, and I'm a horrible singer. Plus, the "artists" obviously don't know how to use proper grammar. Each of the song consists of lyrics squished together into a paragraph with no commas or periods, making it VERY hard to read the lyrics, which are also bland. That's right, just noise. I was so disappointed that I'm not going to finish listening to the album for a while. I don't understand why so many people think that this album is melodic. It is not. I agree that it's unique, because it's EXTREMELY bad. The only good thing about this album is the cover. If you really want to listen to melodic rock, forget about this album and buy albums from Within Temptation or Elis.
- Appeals to the Gothic music tastes
     By A1BUMJN6YQYRQE on 2001-03-10
I was amazed to find that the recomendation system actually worked. This album is fantastic. Not a bad song in the bunch. My favorites are 'Wings of Steel', 'White Rabbit' (very cool version of the Grace Slick song), 'Frozen' and 'Ocean'. The closest comparisons in music types are Rose Chronicles, Wench, and a touch of recent Delerium or Heather Nova. Dead Can Dance are possibly the closest "well known" group I can think of. It doesn't matter, I highly recommend this CD
- CURVE-ball
     By A30Q6FYEC4QXKY on 2003-09-20
After reading the other reviews I had to rush out and download some songs (actually the whole "Ghost" album). What struck me right off was the fact that nobody mentioned CURVE in their reviews. Collide seems to tread some line between Curve and Delerium, Balligomingo, et cetera. They have less guitars than Curve, the music is not as fleshed out, and the atmosphere is far less dark. That would be fine if the songs were as strong, but they aren't, at least not on this album. Overall, the album is not bad. If you are a fan of this type of music you will undoubtedly find something worthwhile here. However, if you have not heard of CURVE, then redirect yourself and check out "Come Clean" or "Cuckoo" first.
- old guy review
     By A2QHVJX9VN4V5W on 2005-03-03
Now, I don't want to scare under-30 persons away from Collide. I was turned on to Collide by a 20-something person. And, there are some tracks which are a little too intense for my old (58 years old) sensitivities, and I'm not heavily into remixes. It was the covers "White Rabbit" on this one, and "Preacher Man" and "Whip It" on Distort that first caught my attention. But what made Collide a must-have is their variety. You just can't type them. They are so creative, so inventive. So, if some old person comes across this review by accident somehow, give them a listen. And note that you can't get the feel from a 20-second clip. And, young people: don't worry. I still don't like most of the goth I hear.
- Simple
     By A1O5MCOAKEXHST on 2005-07-19
I strongly agree with Mistress's last review, Karins vocals and the music grabs you not only in an emotional state but also a mental state, the lyrics have very strong meaning some times the lyrics seem like riddles, but after awhile they all unfold, I am more of a fan of Slipknot, Stone Sour, Fear Factory so forth......alot of other goth bands that I have heard has sort of failed miserably, but Collide is one of the best, I am female and I will admit this, Karin's vocals are very erotic and comforting at the same time, she sounds very sexy in most songs, the lyrics are wonderful the music is wonderful, Collide could be the biggest and the best for those who are into Gothic/Rock or Metal or Gothic/Electronica. When I first heard Collide/Karin I was amazed at everything the music brought, its also a very good genre to let your emotion out to aswell. As of now I personally applaud and bow at the feet of Collide ^_^

Collide is one of those bands I regret not finding sooner. Very seldomly am I really impressed with a band I've never heard of, but Collide did just that. The sound is electronic for the most part, and hard to categorize, but easy to get into. If you like darker rock, and are generally open minded, you may like them.
I highly recommend downloading "razor sharp" as well as the other tracks you can download here. Also check out their website and download some of their other tracks.
- Prime example of a great album
     By A2SJXOV5UTYBJU on 2005-10-19
This cd sticks with me and I come back to it often. Except for the last song, it's a perfect album. If the last song, "Like you Want to Believe", were swapped out and replaced with something more fitting, this would be a 5 star record. As it is, it's still one of my favorites.
Haunting, spiritual and beautiful are probably the best ways to describe this music. The atmospheric tunes and ghostly singing are simply unmatched. It's like Enigma, Enya, Portishead and Tori Amos all rolled into one. My personal favorite tracks are Transfer, Wings of Steel, and Frozen. But all of them have their own charm.
The only reason I don't like the last song, is that it seems more upbeat than the rest of the cd. It's like collide didn't want to leave us feeling meloncholy at the end or something. In any case, you might like it. If you like their later album, Some Kind of Strange, you'll definately like this one. This is one of the most underrated groups around these days.
- Wow!
     By A30QAOLNZ4415R on 2001-09-24
This is a really difficult review to write because the CD is so good that it leaves me at a loss for words. The first couple of weeks I had it, it was on almost constant rotation in my CD player. All the songs are electronic-based with some guitars, but really it is the lush vocals that make this release so stunning. kaRIN's voice is soft and inviting, with a sensual quality, and many of the songs feature a number of layers of vocals creating a wash of sound on top of the unique darkwave/goth synth sounds. My favorite songs are "Halo," "Razor Sharp," and especially "Dreamsleep." The only track on the CD I skip is the "White Rabbit" cover only because I like the original so much that I am not really into hearing someone else perform it. If you are new to Collide and are trying to decide which CD to get, I would definitely go with this one. If you have one of their previous CDs and you are wondering if this is worth it, please, do yourself a favor and click "add to cart" right now. Without a doubt one of the best releases of 2000.
- .......Chasing the Ghost of time.......
     By A2SGJ0O1K9YCAT on 2004-03-06
This is an incredible album. When I first listened to it, I knew right away that this was something special, something wonderful. I knew that I liked it right away. But it took the next couple of listens to really appreciate the masterpiece of 'Chasing the Ghost'. I haven't taken it out of rotation since I got it. kaRIN's super sexy vocals are perfect for the dark, moody soundscapes Statik creates. Her voice and the music fit each other perfectly, like two matching puzzle pieces. What she does with her voice is incredible. Together, the two members of Collide make a wonderful whole. I'm brand new to Goth and Industrial music but I have definitely loved what I've heard so far. I am exceedingly glad I started my collection with this album. It is a perfect intro to the Goth music newbie. I am, without a doubt, going to grab everything I can find by Collide! They are severly underrated and I think, in my humble opinion, that everybody needs to hear this album.

** - TWO STARS
===============
I'm not sure how many of the reviewers here actually know how to classify music. After reading great reviews here regarding Collide, and "Chasing The Ghost", I was willing to give it a listenm and I purchaced it with hopes of hearing music in the realm of Goth Metal, like Lucuna Coil / After Forever / or even Evanescence. What I got was the complete opposite. This shouldn't even be classified as Metal. It's more like Hip Hop if you ask me. Also, where are the female vocals?? The male vocals {if you can even call them that} dominate this CD. BORING...
With that said, I absolutely hated listening to this, and I immediately tossed it aside. There is really no music here, it's all synths, and loud booming bass. No guitars, no solos, no heaviness, and certainly nowhere near anything that represents Metal....
I would not recommend this to anyone expecting a heavy Metal sound. It's not here, anywhere. This is basically low grade Hip Hop music with some annoying guy trying to pull off the vocals...
Not at all what I was hoping for. Boring as hell...

     By A2O5TU8QVCYAYY on 2007-04-13
This album is so darkly ethereal and richly textured that I yearn for the poet's ability to paint a vivid word picture of its seductive sound. Sadly, I am not the world reknown poet any review of this album demands, but simply your average music lover, and after musing over it so long my brain cramps, the best I can come up with is something like. "Hey, what do you get when you cross a goth chick with a computer geek?" So you will just have to use your imagination.
Imagine the perfect song for a lovesick vampire. Imagine what moonlight peeking through gathering stormclouds sounds like. Imagine a Hammer horror movie with a Moby soundtrack. Imagine the distant music that haunts the dreams of some half-mad hero from an H.P. Lovecraft story. Imagine the perfect CD for your date with that fair-skinned lovely with the black lipstick and fingernail polish.
Imagine closing your eyes and feeling the sound sweep over you, setting you hair on end and your soul on fire.
Then stop imagining it and order this CD. Wait for a dark and stormy night and slip it in. Set your imagination free on midnite wings...
- Pleasant surprise
     By ARPTSAHB6V9CH on 2000-11-08
Having stumbled onto this one days before the release, I put it in, expecting Collide's earlier sound, kaRIN's voice occasionally weaving in and out of statik's sometimes grooving, sometimes chaotic, but never stable web of electronics. What I heard, however, was a much more focused effort - Collide's talents on this album are taking definite shape. The vocals are brought out to the front and take on more of a structure, like a hand to hold as you follow kaRIN through statik's electronic dreamworld - Collide's trademark dark, spooky yet inviting, beat-laden yet not bass-heavy atmosphere. Indeed the feel is almost cinematic, the visuals forming freely in your mind along to the music. Definitely their best effort. Whatever it is Collide does to make this music, let's hope they keep at it.
- Electronically Sensual

Band: Collide CD: Chasing The Ghost Reviewed By: Mike VentarolaIt seemed as if everywhere one looked, there was information about a band named Collide slapped onto something. Everything from packages to all sorts of public billboards and phone booths blatantly screamed the name from its perch only to be followed by a number of magazine ads. This made me start to wonder about this group as well as their street team who are getting the word out. Amazingly enough, all the posted stickers are coming from loyal fans. Upon listening to "Chasing The Ghost," it is impossible not to be fully absorbed into their musical world in a large way, and one can fully understand what all the fuss is about in the first place. Collide is a cross between Rhea's Obsession, Switchblade Symphony, My Scarlet Life and a libidinous dark angel. This particular CD also received additional assistance from Monica Richards and William Faith from Faith and The Muse. There is also a dark remake of the Grace Slick song "White Rabbit" created for the new millennium sound, without detracting from the beauty of the original. The music is a steady amalgamation of trip hop, electronica, goth, ambient and rock, all rolled together in an intriguing hybrid and expertly sequenced for obtaining maximum listener enjoyment and satisfaction. Some vocal high tech tweaking similar to the Cher hit "Believe" is also included on the track "Razor Sharp," which rounds out the sound and is going to cause a number of tongues to wag in musical circles for quite some time. Beyond the fact that the album is well made and purely brilliant, is the fact that it boldly takes dark music to a sensuous level. It is romantically enigmatic and erotic while still giving homage to the surrealistic depth of darkness in all its guises. Basically you can sit back and listen, dance to it or you can have an all night Tantra session with that special someone with this as background music. The eroticism of the music and vocals leaps off the CD in an almost subliminal fashion, drawing you in deeper and further with each passing song. kaRin's vocals are at times like sex-kitten whispers woven between anticipatory longing and sieved through a futuristic chasm with understated crooning. This reviewer can't recall a dark music album being this seductive in quite some time. It can safely be said that based on the strength of this CD, I fell in love with this dazzling work and am looking forward to obtaining some of their earlier music as well.

     By A39NPK1UNHADMO on 2002-02-07
This disk sucks. What a waste of money. Dont buy it. Trust me. The mood is superficial and the singer never pauses singing on the entire disk. She never allows the songs to breathe. I bought this disk on the recommendaetions on this site. Bad mistake. I thought that it would be meloncholy and beautiful. It is hardly meloncholy, more like melodramatic. They try too hard to be "deep" and just sound amateurish.

This is the best album I have purchased this year! The high volume rtyhm and long, melancholic melodies mix into perfect motion. This album features the progressive styling of Portishead, the rythms of Course of Empire, and the synth power of Delerium. A must have!

I have to say, that I immediately fell in love with Collide- all their albums. IF you like Delerium/Balligominto type stuff...listen to the supreme vocals by kaRIN and the killer electronic composition by StAtiK... Haunting and sultry, but yet not boring by any means and and excellent duo. Being an ex-goth myself...this musik was an absolute delicious treat and definitely ear-candy. Trust me. If you were considering Collide and never heard them before, don't expect something that is going to fit in with everything else but expect something that is going to knock your socks off. The only music I'll listen to round the clock is Collide, a pair of headphones and a moderate volume level in a dimly lit room will set a wonderful mood for you to listen to Collide. All their albums have a similar feel and I would suggest Some kind of Strange Chasing the Ghost and Beneath the skin for someone who has the more open mind, Vortex is an Album I believe anyone can love its not as abstract as the others and is wonderful for dancing and I can guarantee once you hear vortex you'll want to hear everything else. Though I'm glad to have heard their original music first. Collide is probably the first of a new breed of music not rock nor techno. Abstract music is not something you come by often and this is THE BEST.

Collide has two things going for them right now. First, a killer album cover. Second, a pretty decent singer. The music is alright (if you can call a bunch of programmed beats and noises music) but is clouded over by an annoying fuzzy noise. Collide are trying to be like Faith and the Muse (who actually play instruments to go along with their programmed things), but aren't cutting it very well. If you're into the more recent definition of "gothic" music, you'll probably enjoy this while painting your faces white and black and mutilating yourselves while thinking about how terrible your suburban middle-class lives are, but if you like hearing instuments clearly and like a little variety in your musical listenings, give Faith and the Muse a listen. They're more varied in their style, Monica Richards is a much better singer, they play instruments, and they tend to have a brighter outlook on life!
