The Icing on the Cake By A1IT7KPZW9DY05 on 2001-11-15
This carrying case is the greatest thing to bring out all the features of the TalkAbouts ALL the time. The belt strap was just not enough while hiking, biking or other activity. It was too difficult and cumbersome to get at when paged. I use this case as an arm band, and the TalkAbout is right there when needed, and out of the way, all at the same time. Easy access to the mic, or to listen to, right on your arm. The case is built sturdy with a strong elastic band to hold the antena in place. The arm strap is a strong velkro about 3 inches wide, very sturdy and holds it's place even during the most stressful activity. It works great with biking and hiking, this winter I will try it with downhill skiing, should work great.
Redesigned Product By AJQQ33S4LZ8SM on 2004-12-12
I bought one of these cases to use with a T4800 that I use at work. This case seems to have been redesigned recently and incorporates a couple of fixes for problems noted in some of the reviews. The pocket seems to have been made deeper and the case no longer has an antenna loop. One reviewer has noted that the pocket is slippery and allows the radio to fall out. I've not had this problem in the 2 weeks I've had this case. The pocket is sufficiently deep and and of a more "grippy" texture than one reviewer noted and holds the radio very securely.
I wear the case on my belt as I find that wearing it on my arm is slightly uncomfortable and the unit has a tendency to slide down. When I wear it on my belt, I'm able to withdraw and replace the radio much like a gun in a holster.
I highly recommend this product if you're using a compatible Motorola radio or are in the process of acquiring one. The plastic belt clip that come with the radio is very fragile and will almost certainly break with use.
Poor design By A2QE4HZKBLVR31 on 2003-07-25
I bought this item because one customer stated that the radio does not fall out and that it sits quite secure in the carrying case. Well...this carrying case contains a little neoprene pocket where the radio sits, with a mesh front in the area where one transmits, and an elastic band on top that "secures" the antenna. The problem is that the little neoprene pocket, as it's interior is made of a slippery material, squeezes the radio up and out of the pocket as one walks (notice I didn't say run). That elastic band holding the antenna now becomes terribly inefficient and your radio falls prey to gravity. Had the designers used a more pro-friction material on the interior of the pocket(rubber maybe?)the radio might not work it's way out (I place a rubber band around the radio and then put it in the carrier; it works). Also, the radio has a place on the back to attach a lanyard -- a velcro loop/strap, like on a gun holster, would have been very secure. Overall, I'm happy with this product but I should not have had to look for a way to make it functional.
Very useful. By A5V6R1AWCSE7G on 2005-08-30
I strongly recommend this carrying case to anyone with a TalkAbout.
The case grips the Talkabout securely, is easy to access, and allows the radio to be reinserted without too much trouble.
The only flaw I have found is that the elastic band with the Motorola emblem runs right across the tone button. It doesn't exert enough pressure to engage it by itself, but if you bump something it does have enough pressure to hold the button down. It will set off the tone until you remove the radio from the carrying case.
I used this case every day for 7 weeks this summer and was very pleased with it. I would buy it again without hesitation.
Adequate, not great By A2I24UZNBCF9NR on 2006-03-09
We purchased this for use while skiing. Before the case, we put our portable radios in a pocket. This meant that when someone called, you had to stop, pull out the radio and try to communicate. Having the radio on your arm is better, because it's more accessible. However, the solution has its problems. The arm band holds the radio, but it twists around on the strap and around your arm, so that, while engaged in vigorous activity, it's not staying still. It's better than grabbing it from a pocket, though.
- Not Just for Motorola Radios!
     By A2S5KTQ3LIPCUI on 2007-05-16
Great for Midland Nautico and Midland GXT650 too. Well built arm case, two vertical velcro straps located upper back of the case with one vertical velcro strap located on the bottom back and a sewn belt strap in the middle of the back of the case giving you other carry options besides the 3 inch arm band. You can shake the case with the Midland radio inside like a can of spray paint and the radio will stay in. Pull the Midland radio up 1/2 from the case and you have access to all the buttons on the radio and the radio is still secure in the case.
- Functional, but not designed for the T6400
     By A2SJP03H7F6DHF on 2003-01-22
Well built. Secure and functional for use with the T6400. (Note: Several online retailers advertise this accessory for the T6400, though it is clearly built for use with a smaller radio.)
- Talkabout Carry Case
     By A1Z2LZD1PUTDNO on 2007-01-16
The case holds the radio well - but it is not comfortable on the arm and can fall out of case. I bought the case for my ski vacation for my family to make it easier to carry the radios - but when you fall the radio most times falls out of the case. It needs a strap around it to hold it secure.
- Carrying case lives up to its discription.

The arm band makes a great case for any Motorola talkabout. I've tried it out at work and its great because you cannot break off the flimsy plastic by running into things, and allows quick and easy access to the walkie. The arm band works well too, though I couldn't imagine the need for it when the case so securely attaches to your belt, or if you like, loosen the strap so when you hit something it falls off instead of hurting yourself. The pouch seems to work well with any Motorola walkie I have picked up, (we use about 4 different models at work), and they have never once fell out of the case.
Overall this product is just much better than plastic, if you often use your walkie, this is a definite buy for you.
