Cyber Acoustics CA-4100 4.1 Flat Panel Computer Speakers- Blackx$36.19
    (24 reviews)
Best Price: $44.99 $36.19
When 5.1 surround sound requires too much desktop space due to the center channel, then the CA-4100 is your solution. This 45 watt model offers great sound. Four satellites create solid high frequency performance and the subwoofer delivers amazing performance. If you are on a budget and ordinary 5.1 systems are too expensive, then this is a serious solution to be considered. The CA-4100 offers true 4.1 surround sound with flat-panel-design satellites that take up minimal space. Compatible with four-channel and two-channel input, these speakers work with the latest sound cards to produce enhanced audio quality for the latest music and digital audio applications. Convenient desktop controls on the satellite let you adjust master volume and rear channel surround volume to create the most comfortable audio experience. Magnetically shielded satellites and custom mounting brackets for the rear channel satellites give you control over how and where you place your speakers.

Small Price Big Performance By AEHO1JYBF3L3P on 2001-12-20
I was looking for a decent set of maybe 2 speakers and a subwoofer for my price range but then I came across this 4.1 surround sound set. (...)There had to be something wrong with them but as soon as I hooked them up the sound was so crisp and clear! I highly recommend these speakers to anyone. Buy them while there still in stock!
Stay away from these By A1PWIYJ6PPZLID on 2002-09-12
I don't understand how there are such mixed reviews. I get the feeling that the people writing the positive reviews didn't try to play anything loud or very bassy. The bass speaker, first of all, not like the desciption, is not shielded, there's a big sticker on it when you get it that says so. The volume controls are dials on one of the satellites, inconvenient if you want to wall mount all the spakers, and the front right and front left speaker wires are quite short. Don't forget that they only give you mounting brackets for two of the satellites. There are other models with separate volume control, which I find much more stylish and convenient. These arguments are all nothing compared to its poor sound quality. At top volume, it's not all that loud, it's loud, but not enough. In addition, the bass becomes fuzzy at around 80% volume. In all honesty, if you keep the volume at a medium, it sounds fine, but I like the immersive feeling you get from loud volume. I'm pretty sure I am going to return these.
high quality for low price By on 2001-08-23
I didnt think these speakers were going to be this powerful and sound this great, especially if you have a sound card that supports 4.1 surround sound.a must buy for those looking for a great deal for a great product.
this is great By on 2001-06-23

You get what you pay for. By AZNAL7KIIYZXC on 2002-01-07
The description of these speakers is slightly wrong, they are not actually flat panel speakers. They are regular speakers placed to look like flat panel speakers. The Bass is over empasised and there is no adjustment for it. If you are on a budget and just want a few speakers for proping your door open these are a great buy. Get two Bostons and you will thank me.Ed
- Many alternatives available at the market
     By A1L7REYQN5NSZ2 on 2004-07-21
I bought this product (cost 40) for company use (that's why it's cost 40) base on coworker's recommendation from another office. The quality is disappointed after I installed & tested it. It's not shielded so the interference is quite a serious problem, but I won't get blame afterall since this is not my decision.
Don't be fool by the 4.1 speakers, compare to my another set of 2.1 speakers (cost 20) it's not impressing at all.
There are many good speakers out there, do your researching and will happy with what you got.
- Good Sound Quality For a Good Price
     By A3EW5N7777CSFH on 2002-12-18
ok ok im a sound buff and i bought these speakers about three years ago, these speakers are perfect for home use if you wanna fill up a room. As for that one guy who said the bass was fuzzy, thats not true i have my bass full blast and its so clear it makes you wanna cry. after three years the speakers have only minimally decreased in quality but is hardly noticable. The only problem i encountered was that as there are long wires for the back speakers, the front speakers cannot stray from the subwoofer too much. Other that that if you want a good sound at an awesome price go for it dude.

subwoofer should not be called that: it's tiny, and distorts if the slightest bass is put through it. Not good for music, not good for gaming. Steer clear.
- Incredible sound and loudness for the price you pay
     By A1HPL6QA9G57B2 on 2002-02-03
I was extremely impressed with these speakers. Not only are they visually pleasing, small and unobtrusive, but they sound incredible, and are plently loud. They also came with mounting hardware for your rear speakers, more than enough wiring to run your speakers where you like, and are compatible with surround sound.
- Good Performer
     By A7CN46PBL8TQQ on 2002-02-06
I was suprised when I brought these speakers home, they sound crisp and clean. However, sometimes bass is exaggerated and there is no adjustment for it, but it is real easy to fix with Windows Media Player's mixer. Would recomend them to everyone, you cant find a cheaper 4.1 surround out there.
- fantastic sound
     By on 2002-06-21
When I plugged these speakers in and put on a DVD. I was amazed in how much the sound quality improved. You get the surround sound quality you get in theatres. You just have to place the speakers in the right places in the room. Playing my MP3's is great on this. This is a great addition if you are looking for speakers for your computer.
- OK
     By A28SU7QI17SCQ on 2002-09-03
I bought this item for [$$$] a year or two ago I have been pretty happy with it, but for songs with high bass (rap) then the music gets pretty distorted, and I have a Sound Blaster Live 5.1 X-Gamer sound card..... so it is not my sound card that is bad.
- 3" ported woofer = not much practical utility
     By on 2003-02-10
Fine for basic listening, but not ok for movies, etc, because if you turn them up loud enough to hear speech, when low bass sounds come along the subwoofer starts distorting.
- Nice....
     By A3RLHLW1N49ELB on 2001-07-18
Well, I thought it would be powerful... Untill i found out it was only 40 watts or so...But its very clear and very surrounding. Great!
- These are not all what they are cracked up to be...
     By A3UO8C4II8ZTJE on 2002-02-01
I ordered these speakers in place of my previous speakers I had ordered from Amazon.com. These speakers were supposedly 10 watts more than the LABTEC speakers. I figured I'd give them a try. They are nothing like I thought they would be and I suggest that you don't buy them. LABTEC speakers rule I've learned. LABTEC has superb sound!
- Horrible

I hade these speakers for 2 months and the rears no longer work. These speakers are nothing but trouble, STAY AWAY
- Impressive for the price
     By ASSJCTTAKC49D on 2002-08-18
I bought the CA 4100 system for my second desktop PC. On my first I already have a set of Altec Lansing THX 120 watt speakers. Compared to those, the 4100 doesn't show much of a difference, except for high treble notes, which seem to be cut off, but hardly noticeable. These work best on a 4.1 channel sound card and above, on a 2.1 the left and right surround speakers are very weak and use the same channels as the left and right front. This can only be heard when the surround speakers are placed close to the ear. Overall, excellent fidelity and ambience, impressive bass, and true surround accompany this system, which is one, if not the, best in it's price range. Keep up the good work CA!
- too bad.i got it today and want to return it.
     By A28KWG5CQYQM2H on 2003-02-08
this is the worst speaker I have ever used, even worse than a very inexpensive small pair. I got it today, much out of my expectation.the sound is not clear and very bad when playing songs with heavy bass.and even with songs of little bass, the quality is still bad,not match its price at all! I will return it definitely.I am so disappointed!!

I really don't understand why there are so many mixed reviews which will fool other consumers. This speaker is reaaly disapointting, especially with bass. The bass will come out as very unclear noises, even with light bass songs, the quality is also too bad,i cannot bear it.I have just received it for one day,and i have decided i will definetely return them.
- Good speakers for money
     By A2PXBJ1RMO0RV5 on 2003-06-22
These speakers are an ok analog 4.1 system. I am pleased that the speakers do not hiss or make popping noises. They do have some distortion at higher volumes. This speakers lack bass power however the subwoofer submits a small amount of high quality bass that doesn't stick out in a bad way. These speakers have too much treble and not enough mid range as is common on many CA systems. The rear speakers are somewhat quiet. There is no subwoofer volumer control. ... Just be warned that there are many many better speakers systems. ...I do not regret buying these speakers as they are a nice addition to my 8.2 speaker mess :)
