About Coleman
The Coleman Company has been creating and innovating products for recreational outdoor use since W.C. Coleman started selling gasoline-powered lanterns in 1900. Inventor of the hugely popular fold-up camp stove, Coleman developed a plastic liner for his galvanized steel coolers in 1957--the birth of the modern cooler--and the company has been improving their utility and design ever since. The array of products that bear the Coleman name now includes just about everything you might need to work or play outdoors, from tents and sleeping bags to boats, backpacks, and furniture.

  • Summer is coming! You need to get this!

    By A18CRS4FLVH5YW on 2002-04-22
With summer almost here, this little unit is a neccesity for any outdoor camping trips and then some! It portable, light weight and goes anywhere you go. Great for cooking all your favorite meals and no need for electrical power! No person should be without one of these unless you plan to tug your backyard grill all over this great nation only for a mere hamburger, with that in mind, just go to Mickey D's! LOL.

  • Works for smaller needs...

    By A2Q7KIJ2010MYC on 2006-06-12
We have this, but with a larger family, it is really slow going. Doing a LOT of food on a campout with lots of kids and hungry people -- you'll be cooking for a long time. Go for an item with higher BTU's that you can just crank up and get it done.... With a couple of people, okay to use, but it does take time to even just heat water. Plan for heat it up dishes that don't need cooking time.

  • Coleman 2 burner propane camp stove

    By A3N80A9OA3TOIL on 2006-07-17
This review is based on a very limited use of this product, as it is new and the need for using it is not great. The stove is nicely designed and easy to set up. The gas feed tube screws onto the gas cylinder and then into the right side of the stove. Because of the design, only the squat 16.4 oz. tanks are usable, though it may be possible to obtain an adapter and hose to run the stove from refillable tanks. The proper disposable tank will not fit into the stove cabinet for travel, so fuel cylinders must be carried separately. This may be a problem for those who need maximum compactness. The throw-away cylinders may be undesireable for those who are carrying their equipment into remote regions that have no trash pickup service.
The stove lights easily with a match or other device and it meets my needs for heat output. The stove was purchased to allow flexibility during the time that our kitchen is remodeled. It was also bought as a backup cooking device, should we have an electrical outage. So far, so good. Amazon was good to its word on shipping and product description.

  • Coleman Stove

    By A3FKIPFRFZ7CNN on 2006-08-24
Just wanted a small reliable unit for occasional camping trips; it is very compact, throws out plenty of heat; Pros are good price, brand name. Cons: not being able to store the propane bottle inside the box like older camping stoves, and you need a match or lighter. Other pricier models have ignitors built in. I like this item!

  • Great Buy

    By A45DF6U2TYE5M on 2006-11-03
We go camping 10-20 times a year and this item was one of the best buy I have ever made. It reliable and durable. The stove isn't a new model but works just the same if not better. Anyone looking to find a GREAT BUY this would be it. You will not regreat it. We didn't!!! =-)

  • Eat like a king while camping
    By A1IN0FCO97CWWI on 2007-02-24
My wife and I bought this stove a few years ago for a camping/hiking trip to Baxter State Park in Maine. I'd never used a portable stove before. With this product, we ate well. Pans got very hot quickly; meat was wonderfully seared. As advertised, water boiled amazingly fast - the second season we used it, in cool to cold late fall northern Maine temperatures. The dual burners allow for meals beyond canned food, and the wind shields work. The only weakness, that Coleman should fix, is that if the stove is not exactly on the level (rare at mountain campsites), pots and pans tend to slide off the burner, requiring finicky positioning or a non-burning implement to keep them in place. Still - a great product at a good price.

  • Cooking at home paid for the stove
    By A2ABQDPX70MNUL on 2007-01-10
I purchased this stove because of the frequent power failures we have had the last two months. This stove cooks food faster than our electric stove and has paid for itself by us not having to go out to eat. It is easy to use and gives us comfort knowing it is available should we need it.

  • Pretty good stove!
    By AVHO387XBG6TE on 2006-11-05
Worked very well, very durable, and easy to operate. Good choice for the price.

  • LASTS forever!
    By A3IXI1IXAQCJEE on 2007-04-22
We have had this camping stove for at least five years and it always works well. Never had a problem with it,
cooked all kinds of meals on it and it is easy to use. A must have item for family style camping.

  • Not too shabby!
    By A17OFTAQ6P62RR on 2007-07-25
A newbie to this whole camping scene although when it came to this stove, I actually looked like I knew what I was doing! Did purchase a portable table designed for this stove so cooking on uneven ground was not a problem.

We did the coffee percolater gizmo in the morning and it boiled 9 cups of coffee in 7 minutes...faster than my drip coffee maker.

Very pleased. Again, being new at this maybe I impress to easily although I would say this stove was worth the money.

This product was brand new in box, and was exactly as advertised. The stove works great and was just what I was looking for.

  • Perfect Stove
    By A209QRVZ99UQDC on 2008-02-08
I've camped with this Coleman stove for two years. It has never failed me. I'd be lost without it.

Compact. Rugged. Throws out lots of heat. Boils water and cooks food quickly and efficiently. Wind shields actually work.

The hose that connects the propane canister to the stove unscrews and fits nicely inside the stove during storage. Connecting and disconnecting the propane tank is a breeze. Simply twist on a propane tank and you're ready to cook. No pumping, priming, or filling a tank with flammable liquid.

This is the best little camping stove ever made. I won't go camping without it.

  • worked like a charm
    By A38RL7JLZWAZIX on 2008-04-05
I've always used technical, packable stoves. They were lightweight, but took a long time to heat. This product worked like a charm - it heated everything up, from chili in the evening, to the coffee in the morning in no time. The parts seemed durable and we had no problem on our overnight canoe trip.

  • Won't Go Camping Without It
    By AHV7DGJMNDB7O on 2008-07-14
I've owned this little unit for almost ten years now, and I really wouldn't go camping without it. It's light weight, and I can cook anything that I would normally cook from the stove top at home. It's simple to set up -- just screw the gas feed tube into the stove and the canister and you're ready to go. It lights easily, and the gas flow regulator keeps the flame at a constant level. The little cannister of gas lasts for hours and hours for simmering.

We used this exclusively for an entire summer a couple of years ago, and it performed very well, indeed.

I'd like a clasp or something on the unit to store a gas canister when the unit's not in use, but that's really the only thing it's lacking. I've cooked full meals for six on this, which is stretching its abilities a little unless you're doing a stew or something. It's more suited for two or three people, but, for what it is, you can't get a better camp stove for the money. It's durable, easy to set-up and use, and packs away nicely.

  • No chance to use it yet.
    By A3AKI43N5J9R3H on 2007-07-06
Seems fine. Connected to propane and all worked okay. Bought for outages for cooking. If it lasts as long as the Coleman lantern we have had forever, we will have no complaints.

  • Great stove
    By A2JSBKQ4OC698Z on 2007-08-30
This is a wonderful stove, typical Coleman quality, heavy gauge steel and wonderfully put together. Recessed carry handle is an improvement over the old wire bail type. Perfect flame control. I love this stove!

  • Hooray for Stove
    By A31BU51EEUTRO3 on 2008-03-03
The Coleman Two-Burner gets hot very quickly, and although I'm not sure how long the propane fuel will last, this stove seems very similar to one I used to use which got pretty good mileage out of the tanks.

This model doesn't have the insta-light feature, but I've never been afraid of lighting this thing up with matches so all is well.

As far as weight/size I think it's pretty reasonable. I will certainly be taking this camping and have no fears of it fitting comfortably in the trunk with the other gear.

  • Super Stove
    By A1MFG9E45RX5OW on 2008-03-23
    We love this stove!
It makes cooking easy and effortless. Lightweight, yet sturdy gives a good, hot flame for great cooking! Highly recommended.

  • Just a good stove
    By A2L22T2AG1I71K on 2008-06-25
Work OK but the burner control is some what touchy. Cant control the flame as good as my other Coleman stove.

  • coleman stove
    By A168PMVWUZPCV3 on 2008-07-20
I used the stove for the first time last week. It functioned exactly as I expected. It was easy to adjust for a really low flame to fry eggs and boiled water fast when at I turned the heat up. Glad I bought this one . I read some reviews on some cheaper stoves not being able to hold a low flame so I spend a few dollars more and got this one and am glad I did.
