A Great Gift that Kids Love By A20ILIY4NTJGLK on 2004-09-04
I bought this game for my children several years ago on the advice of the owner of my favorite toy store. I love board games, and my children were 3 and 5 then, and just starting to enjoy them as well. Well, we couldn't get the kids to stop playing Zingo. They played quietly for more than 2 hours. Since you can play with up to 8 players, we have had lots of neighborhood kids playing the game out on the front steps. Since then, I have bought at least 10 Zingo games -- I have given them to all my children's friends and I always keep a few around to give out for birthday gifts. Everyone loves this game.
great design, great fun By A2C27IQUH9N1Z on 2004-01-14
This preschooler variation of the old favorite Bingo is a real winner. Zingo cards have a 3 by 3 grid that shows pictures and words. Cards have a yellow side (easier, for younger kids) and a red side for the odler ones. The plastic game piece dispenser is well-designed and fun to use. Players shout out to claim a piece, which is then placed over the appropriate square on the player's card. There are several play variations. Excellent game for the younger set, and fun for older children and adults as well.
Zingo for a 5 year old BOY! By A2OAYIM13WIXCH on 2005-10-28
Zingo is like Bingo with pictures instead of numbers. My grandson liked it at first and so did I, however by the third game he was ready to turn the cards over to the harder sides, was ready to play two cards at the same time, plus two cards for me, plus two cards for his teddy bear--all at the same time. The tiles, while very durable, must be loaded into a gadget--a timeconsuming, no fun chore that will be left to the parent or older child. And it is harder the bigger fingers you have. I like this as an alternate game, but not if you only just want to buy one to refresh your game stock.
Wonderful toy - kids love it! By A35YBPCL46JL6Q on 2003-11-24
My son got this for his fourth birthday and still plays with it regularly (he's now over 5). He'd just started to read when he got it, and the game helped him add many new words to his vocabulary - but more importantly, it was fun! His friends loved it so much that several of them asked for their own sets as gifts. We play until everyone wins and gets to shout Zingo!, and the kids help each other get there. And my son even plays it sometimes by himself. It's really wonderful, very very fun, and would be great for kids from about 3 to at least 6.
Excellent game that even parents enjoy! By A21SN7B02R2VIZ on 2002-10-16
This game is great. Since the day we got it, it has been played with all the time. The kids love being able to yell "Zingo" when the win. The design is great since you can keep all the pieces neatly tucked in the dispenser.A great fun, educational game for game nights and rainy days!
- Love this game

I bought this game for my five year old child and the entire family enjoys it. He is constantly asking someone to play with him and we are always willing. We have not gotten tired of this one yet. Very easy for a young child to use. Highly recommend.
- Action-Packed Bingo, No reading required.
     By AJW30RHOZC4OY on 2007-02-18
This game was given to one of my sons when he turned 5. It's been a big hit ever since.
The game is basically a no-reading-required version of Bingo. The kids love it. Even my 2 year old gets to play and doesn't need help.
All the kids, ages 2, 5, 5, and 8 like this.
The game is nice and sturdy, very well-made. You won't be disappointed.
This would be a good gift because it's fun & there isn't a very good chance most kids already have it.

- fun & educational
     By AP9NJJX2CDGOF on 2008-01-18
My 4 yr old son received this game as a gift and he loves it. Basically it is Bingo with a twist, focusing more on sight words / images that kids can recognize. He loves playing with it, hands out the scorecards to anyone in our home who is willing to play.
What amazes me, though, is that my 20 month old daughter also loves this game and she has learned so many words from it that we wouldn't think to teach her. For instance, "ghost" "worm" "bug" "house". She recognizes them, says them (without prompting) and then matches them on her scorecard. I'm not saying this to tout my kid -- not at all, but because this has become a wonderful learning game for her.
The version of the game I have is actually by Discovery Toys, but I'm pretty sure its the same as this version by ThinkFun.
- Fantastic game but could be slightly improved
     By A2V6DIELE7FIRU on 2006-09-07
My family absolutely loves this game. Our three year old especially loves it. The main issue with it is the difficulty of reloading the dispenser. My suggestion for the company would be to print the pictures on both sides of the tiles so they could be inserted in the dispenser either side up. This would save a lot of time and effort for the parents!
- Not a good experience
     By A30EW7RENULNJL on 2007-01-13
The age that was advertised on Amazon was different from the age on the box. It is for younger kids not for 8 years old.
- great fun for years
     By A3E37OMZNXJVFT on 2006-04-08
This kept my twins busy for years and saved many a playdate as everyone has fun! It's great that there is an easy and harder side to the cards while using the same chips, so the game can grow with the child.
- Let's Zingo!
     By on 2003-10-25
Our children love this game and it is by far their favorite. Though the recommended ages are 4 and up - my 4 year old and my 2 1/2 year old both enjoy playing this game and it is one that they never seem to tire of. The playing pieces are all very durable and well constructed. I highly recommend Zingo.

My Daughter got this game for Christmas when she was 3. We've been playing it regularly for the past 2 years. Both she and her sister (who are now 5 and 8) still love playing it! We've even taken it into school and played in the Kindergarten classroom in small groups.
- "crack for kids"
     By A17437N1L775IJ on 2006-06-03
My husband calls Zingo "crack for kids." My [...] is a total addict, and we've turned on at least 10 other preschoolers (and their parents) to this game. Highly recommended!

Watch Video Here: http://www.amazon.com/review/R2MMLSN6OMFSQ3 2 1/2 and 4 1/2 year olds playing Zingo. You can see that even the 2 1/2 year old can play and can set up the game.
- Great Game!!

My daughter got this game for her 3rd birthday. She and her 4-year-old sister love to play this game daily!! Now I am buying more to give as birthday gifts to friends/family.
- Wonderful Game!
     By AD6HVKT6PKIFB on 2006-01-13
My 3 year old son got this last year for his birthday and it is still a favorite. He will carry a step stool and climb up himself to get it off a high shelf. It has helped build his vocabulary and he has become very quick at grabbing the tiles. This will be a great treasure for your child too!
- My kid is a Zingo addict!
     By A2TUP3PC5UFE7E on 2006-11-18
My son received this as a gift when he was 3. He had tried other "board games", but could not keep interest for more than 5 min.
He LOVES this game even now at 4 1/2.
What I like:
-Board only has 9 spaces so the game doesn't have to last a life time.
-You can use the yellow side for a less competitive game or the red side when your kid gets a little older. (From what I can tell if you use the red each player has a better chance of both needing the same zingo piece and it becomes an exciting chase to see who can pick up the piece first)
-All pieces are virtually indesctructable. The zingo dispensor is extremely heavy duty and slides smooth. (very good for easily frustrated toddlers!!)
What I don't like:
-My kid wants to play ALL the time. We had to hide it when we moved for a month so that we could take a break.
Since this "dislike" is a fault with the parents I give it a 5 star rating :)
- Fabulous!

My 4 1/2 year old got this wonderful game for Christmas. Family of all ages (2-60) enjoyed this fun game for hours. It's a quiet game that requires no batteries - yeah! My 2 year old loves to play but can't play quickly. He is learning to identify things that are the same. It keeps the players on their toes to be the first one to get "Zingo." After 2 weeks, this gift continues to be played daily. My son has now asked to give it to his friends for birthday gifts. I highly recommend this game!
- Our boys love it
     By A1Q98LU1VUISN8 on 2008-01-20
We have all boys, ages 4, 2, and 1. Zingo is something we can play as a family or the boys can play together without a lot of supervision. The 1 year old likes to slide the tile-thing. The 2 year old can match the pictures and practice saying the words. 4 year old is beginning to read the words and he can manage all aspects of this game. Game play takes under 10 minutes; it's quiet, and it's easy to store in its fairly sturdy box. We sometimes work together to fill cards; other times we compete. Since Christmas 2007, we've played this at least 4 times per week, usually at the urging of our 2 year old son.
- Great for little Ones!
     By A2ZA9NBS1CEJ3E on 2006-11-03
This is a great game for mainly 4 year olds. It's a variation on Bingo. Each player gets a card and needs to match the plastic game cards to shapes. There's a sliding device to distribute the cards that children love to use. It also keeps the pieces very organized which is nice for the parents. It has become a staple when I have to give a gift for that age group. Families always love it! The only drawback is that because kids' abilities advance so much at that age, the child might get bored with it after a while and need something more challenging. I am hoping that the company starts coming out with a letter or number Zingo... Most children that age just enjoy being able to play a game with their parent or a friend without the frustration of it being above their heads. This game is wonderful for that!
- Great family game!
     By A1K1TBXORG06Z6 on 2007-01-11
This game is so much fun for the entire family! Even my two year old can join in the fun. You can make it as easy or as challenging as you'd like. I purchased 4 of these games for gifts and every child/family has enjoyed it!
- Great...for younger kids
     By AD060SDXA4VDP on 2007-01-18
I bought this for my 5yr old daughter, and it's perfect for her age/ability. She has started reading and loves board games. It's very entertaining and it's helping her learn new words. I've tried it with my almost 9yr old son and he gets bored very fast because he knows all the words; the only thing that keeps him playing is trying to win. So I'd say it's for 5-8yr olds, not 8 and up.
- Superb Game
     By A25TIKKS97EJND on 2007-01-25
We got this as a present for our 3 yr old over six months ago and it has been played almost everyday since! Excellent game. The whole family loves it and it has been even brought on roadtrips and weekends away. Can't speak highly enough about the game. Only negative comment is that it would have been great to include a word only side as well as a picture and word side to encourage word recognition...never mind still an excellent product.
- Great game

Zingo is a great game to start young ones out Builds terrific learning skills and is a great way to spend good family time. Great twist on the old game of Bingo.
- It's a winner
     By AXUAPWZWT28AQ on 2007-03-23
I bought this game for my 4 year old and it turns out, my 4 year old and 2 1/2 year old play this game together, with the parents, and even alone. It is the game they ask for every night. A non-reader's version of Bingo, it is easy enough for the younger children to match the tile to the picture on their card. Would recommend this game.
- Good game for kids and parents
     By A245UUHQOLXF6L on 2007-05-04
My 4 1/2 year old son really likes this game. Some games my son has are just too tedious for me to play - after about 20 rounds of Hi-Ho-Cheerio I'm ready to pull my hair out. I don't know what it is about this one, but my husband and I don't mind (and maybe even LIKE) to play it. If you're a bingo fan, you'll love it.

I'm sure you've played Bingo sometime in your life, but have you ever played Zingo? Zingo is Bingo, but with a Zing instead of a Bing. Well that is what the box says anyway. In fact, I found Zingo much more fun then regular Bingo. We got this game as a present last Christmas. Ok, I know what you're thinking, "Why did it take you a whole YEAR to play this game if it's really that much fun?"
Well the truth is, I have a lot of board and card games. We do play games a lot as a family and we tend to play our favorites more than anything. What made me finally take the shrink wrap off the Zingo game and open the box was my two-year-old daughter. Yeah, yeah . . . I know that the box says for ages 4 to 8, but believe it or not, my daughter was able to play the game and enjoyed it.
So how do you play the game, right? Well each player has to take a Zingo (Bingo-like card) card. What makes the Zingo card different is . . . it's two-sided. One side is for easy play and the other side is for harder play. Ok, now each player has their card. You need to decide if you want to play the easy or hard side of the cards. ALL players have to be on the same side. Now you pick a dealer. That's right . . . a dealer. But the dealer isn't dealing cards. This dealer is dealing the chips you place on the Zingo card. How this works is with the Zinger. The deal slides the Zinger back and forward to reveal the two picture/words. Each player must call out the name of the picture on the chip they need before they can take it to be placed on their card. This then covers a space on the Zingo card. You play until one player has "black-out" . . . meaning all spaces are covered by Zingo chips.
So now you know how to play, get out and Zingo!
- Hey All Kids Love This Game!
     By A25KKXUQQ0OLWB on 2008-02-06
Look, I know this is a game recommended for kids 4-8 years of age, but I have kids learning English. When they saw the age recommendation they objected to the game. I put stickers over the age and introduced it again (I'm working with middle schoolers from 9 - 14) and they loved it. It's a very popular game. It gets the quiet kids speaking and they have to do it fast in order to win. They often end up being the best players too! Very popular!
