Of all the reasons you'll click the Add to Shopping Cart button next to Baby Einstein's Baby Mozart--and there are many--the best one is that playing this record for babies doesn't feel weird. Instead of subjecting tiny, tender ears to the kind of Mozart that can make adult classical fans wilt when tackled by a maestro who means business, this is Mozart lite, mixed and mastered by a dad, Bill Weisbach, who's clearly hung around for his share of crib-side cooing. The slightly tinny sound of a child's piano sweeps the sting out of Piano Sonata in B Flat's third movement; the first movement of Concerto for Flute and Harp in C floats by, birdlike; variations on "Ah vous dirai-je, Maman" translate to a fancy-sounding (but adorable) "Twinkle, Twinkle"; and Piano Sonata in F's third movement snuggles so deeply into its childlike setting that if you close your eyes, you'll see a pastel parade of animals floating by overhead. Other pieces (more aptly called fragments, since only one track stretches beyond the three-minute mark), like Symphony No. 41's fourth movement, wander into more robust Mozart territory, but it's here the claims about classical music enhancing young kids' abstract reasoning skills and spatial intelligence crystallize. Babies strapped in for a roller coaster of sounds that gracefully dips, swerves, and high-jumps like this version, do have to process what they're hearing somehow (and a case could be made that the instruments Weisbach's chosen--the vibraphone, glockenspiel, and music box among them--make it more appealing for them to do so). Followers of Julie Aigner-Clark's Baby Einstein empire, many of whom opted out of the fan club once Disney bought the company in 2001, won't trip over a single Mickey Mouse-ified sound here. This is pure, plugged in, and muted Mozart, and if it doesn't make your baby smarter, it'll at least sound awfully sweet issuing from your nursery's speakers. --Tammy La Gorce

Creative & Soothing By A2ZM9BGE3K3SY2 on 2003-09-20
I like classical music, but some of the pieces have crescendos and accents that make it very difficult to listen to when you just want to relax. When I saw Baby Beethoven, I bought it and enjoyed it. I saw Baby Mozart at a different store and instantly picked it up.The music doesn't have the sudden musical attacks that classical music has because the instant sound can frighten little ones. That is one of the great things about this CD. I can listen to in when I just want to sit down and relax. I also like that the pieces and the CD itself, it's too long. I can finish the CD during a nice bath. The music also isn't too loud in general, so you don't have to have the CD player volume at full blast one moment, just to hear the music and almost off the next, so you can keep your hearing. I highly recommend this CD, whether you have little ones or not.
Am I the only one on the planet who hates Baby Einstein? By A20PFIABMFJJGV on 2005-06-10
I find the computerized production of the great music represented in all the Baby Einstein CDs really, REALLY annoying. Why not just put a collection of the REAL orchestrations together? Every time I hear these productions, I wince at the cheesiness of the instrumentation. I really think kids would be better served listening to symphonic recordings of these classics. The richer texture of the orchestra and/or chamber orchestra (or even a REAL piano solo) would seem much more stimulating to developing brains than this "classical lite" approach.
Fun for the kids By on 2003-06-08
My twin girls loved the video so I bought the CD and they love it!We listen to it in the car and they relate the CD to the video. It's great and keeps them happy on the road.
Baby Mozart instantly calms the fussies in the car! By A1P51EH7MYTFJW on 2004-12-12
The second our baby (now 1 year old) hears the orchestra "tuning up", the whimpering from the back seat stops, and there is blissful silence for the duration of the CD, except for between songs, when we get an appreciative "ba-ba". And, the music does not grate on mom and dad's nerves, either...so we can listen to it over and over again with no problem. (This, in our book, is the hallmark of a successful children's CD.) We got the DVD of Baby Mozart too, which our son adores.

Our daughter loves the sounds of the Baby Mozart. We have it in her portable CD player near her crib. It's a great way to lull her to sleep at night.
- Fun - cute songs- also check out Troy & Genie Nilsson

This is fun. Also, if you're like me you probably also want to get more music that has fun + deep moral/spiritual meaning + pro music that you can stand hearing a million times. My favorite of that kind that I would highly recommend to you is Troy & Genie Nilsson's stuff like Scripture Rock.
- Baby Mozart - Music CD
     By A20864X3UZOING on 2006-03-18
I love all of the Baby Einstein DVD's, so the music CD has been just as good as the DVD's. I play it all the time when my son is in the car and it seems to calm him and keep his attention.
- Great music for baby AND mom
     By A1BHQ0Y9NZO3F9 on 2006-04-18
I bought this CD with a gift card, because I wanted some soothing music for my daughter's naptime. In looking at the titles of the pieces, I didn't recognize very many, but in listening to the CD I found that I recognize much of the music. I was pleased at how calming it was and found myself humming various pieces throughout the day.
I would recommend this CD, and plan to purchase other Baby Einstein music!
- Not Just for Babies
     By A3N8U9B1M31OB on 2005-10-31
Simplicity can be a wonderful quality. This CD is a welcome addition of classical music with a light and happy touch. My grand-daughter actually listens and when the CD is turned off because I think she is asleep, she will immediately open her eyes and look at me....as if to say "what did you do that for, Nana?" She is doing an excellent job of training me and we are both enjoying Mozart together.
- A hit in my house!

My son adores this CD. We play it Saturday and Sunday mornings, and he sits and listens to it all the way through, every time. His face lights up when it starts...don't expect this the first time; my son's come to know it from its opening fanfare, and your child ultimately will too.
- Baby Mozart -- A nice start
     By AF31Q1OZAWBI8 on 2005-07-20
This is the first Baby Einstein product I have purchased for my son, and I must say I have been very impressed. The cd has some nice selections, and the cd as a whole is very mellow. I love to put this on for my son at naptime. It really calms him down. I also like to play it for him in the car if he is feeling a little cranky. It settles him down right away.
- Good for the brain
     By A1P8ZI6DJQO765 on 2005-11-08
My babies doctor told me 30 minutes of Mozart a day. This CD is perfect for that. Simple Mozart pieces that introduce your child to Mozart. (I prefer to play Mozart on the piano for him myself!!)

Although the selection of music was good, I was disappointed at the synthesized sounds of the music. I have heard much of the "Mozart Effect" for stimulating learning in young minds, but why market it this way? Just turn on your radio to your local classical music station and give your child the benefit of the real thing without having to put more money in Disney's pockets.
- Excellent CD

Loved the CD, same music as on the DVD which my 20-month-old grandson loves. Falls asleep at night with the CD on, and I leave it on all night to soothe him if he wakes. Great puchase, worth the money!

     By A3OGHIV30LPST7 on 2007-09-11
The Baby Mozart music CD's are perfect for my infant daughter. She listens to them during the day and the lullabies at night while going to bed. I would recommend these products to any parents with young infants.

I have this playing in our daughters room all the time - usually while I am nursing or we are sitting on the floor reading books. Very nice music to have on low in the background.

     By A3N0A0WB7XLFK4 on 2008-05-20
My baby loves the baby einstein movies (3 months old) and this uses the music from the baby Mozart video, so he recognizes it and laughs and plays while listening!
