  The piano-duo The O'Neill Brothers have compiled a collection of instrumental music for weddings comprised of original, classical, and pop music that they have used in the 200+ weddings they have played for over the past several years. I haven't been to a wedding in quite a long time and have no idea of what people are doing musically these days, but the variety of the selections on this CD seems to cover most bases. A lot of the music is ensemble playing rather than just piano, adding to the variety of sounds. I'm not sure how many people who are not planning weddings would buy a CD like this, so let's look at it from the perspective of someone who is. The CD is arranged in sections to correspond to the parts of a wedding - Prelude, Processional, Ceremony, Recessional, and Reception - and each section has 2-4 pieces to use or choose from. I really like the two original pieces, "Falling in Love" and "Reminiscent Joy," which are piano only. The Brothers also do a really nice job with Paul Stookey's "The Wedding Song," which is also piano only. The classical pieces are pretty standard wedding faire, and include - "Canon in D," "Jesu, Joy of Man's Desiring," "Ave Maria," and "Ode to Joy." Pop tunes include "From This Moment On" by Shania Twain, "Forever In Love" by Kenny G, and "The Way You Look Tonight." All of the arrangements are solid and appealing, so I think this would be a really nice collection to use either in the background on the wedding day or to help in choosing pieces to be played live.

  I bought this CD for an outdoor wedding where I didn't feel organ or full orchestra music would be appropriate. This CD is full of beautiful music...I plan to take all the music from my ceremony from this CD! I'm sure I will also listen to this CD in the future..so lovely and relaxing!!   This CD provided a really good instrumental version of the song "From This Moment On". I performed this at my best friend's wedding and it was very easy to adapt to as it followed the same music as the original song. The other songs on the CD also sound very similar to the popular versions.

  This is a lovely CD. I am very happy with this music for our wedding ceremony . We even used some of the songs for our prelude music.
  I also purchased from amazon.com the New Wedding Traditions Volume I CD for our special reception songs (father/bride, mother/groom, etc.).

  Playing for weddings, especially on short notice, a person has a limited amount of time to find music, not to mention learn to play it perfectly. The O'Neil Brothers arrangements sound beautiful, are not to difficult to play, and include music recognizable to the untrained ear as exceptionally good music. It includes all the classics for a wedding, with a twist that makes them sound even better. I recomend every song in this book, for every wedding, for every type of person.

  This cd is unbelievably beautiful. It makes me wish I could go through the wedding process again, but it brings tears to my eyes when I listen to this cd and think that my little baby will be leaving me one day.

  What a lovely CD from 2 talented piano players.
  We especially loved Canon in D for the wedding.
  I must say that amazon has been very helpful because not only did we find this lovely CD we also found

  This is a very beautiful CD. I was very impressed with the sound quality of the music. You could play this at your wedding and noone would know it is not live.

  I bought this CD because I wanted an instrumental version of the Wedding Song to have someone sing a solo to at my wedding. This song is great, but I now plan on using other songs on the CD too.

• Good, but kind of average

  I bought this CD hoping to find some background music for my wedding reception and (fingers crossed) ceremony. While the music and recordings are high-quality and the cd does sound great, it sounds a little "father-of-the-bride."
  
  It sounds a little like the kind of music that would be the stereotypical background music in a movie about weddings. Much of the tracks are 4 piece string quartet and, because of this, it lends itself to a more traditional wedding ambience. I recommend this piece for anyone looking for purely traditional, and possibly stereotypical wedding music. If you want something more upbeat, I recommend anything by Michael Buble or standards like Frank Sinatra and Dean Martin.

  I purchased this CD for my 78 yr old mother, a widow, who is getting remarried this Sept. and needed some recorded music to play before the ceremony and for the processional and recessional.   Quite likely, anyone looking at this CD will be either organizing a wedding or getting married anyway. This is the first wedding CD I bought and while I like a few of the songs, it has given me more ideas for more. Some of the music can be used elsewhere too, including photo slideshows, dinner preludes, etc so it's not a waste of money. There's an insert with more CDs and Music ideas as well.
