  yes, this is a great game. i was very dissapointed when i got my new computer and found that my Dogz 4 game would not work on it because i had Windows XP. But Dogz 5 is the perfect alternative. Now, although there are a lot of wonderful new things about Dogz 5, there are some drawbacks. i have listed the pros and cons:

  Pros:

  * 5 new breedz!!!! - golden retrievers, German shepherds, jack russel terriers, papillons, and pugs
  * Dogz can have up to 4 puppiez at a time!!!
  * New playscenes - haunted house, fantasy castle, Asian temple, and Salon, which includes the bathtub and clothes closet
  * Nursery - a room only availiable to momz with babiez
  * all new toyz for your petz to play with!!!
  * you get to take all the toys you own to any scene and play with as many you want!!!
  * 5 mini games!!!
  * Weather and day/night cycles!!! the weather changes, so it could be sunny one minute, or raining or snowing the next!!! and you can adjust how fast you want it to go from day to night!!!
  * new and improved graphics!!!!
  * you have a second chance to take care of one of your neglected petz that has run away
  * many new clothes items!!!

  Cons:

  * no toy closet :-( , you have to find the toyz or earn them by winning mini games
  * some of the mini games are hard, and you sometimes get a toy you already have
  * no more adopting pigz, but there is a host character pig in the back yard
  * no backrounds already made to choose from when creating a custom playscene

  as you can see, there are waaaaaaaaaaay more pros than cons, so this game is definatley worth it.

  Okay, here it goes. Petz 5 is by far the best of all the other Petz Cd's!
  The breedz are wonderful, especially my little German Shephard puppy named Rochelle. Here are the names of all the new breedz (sorry if I'm missing any) German Shephard, Pappilion, Golden Retriever, Jack Russell, and Pug. I haven't got Catz 5 yet, but I here there is some wonderful new breedz in that game too.
  There are over 100 new toys you can win and find in playscenes (you store all of them in the Supply Case) The mini-games can be challenging, but sooner or later you'll win them. My favorite game so far is Rock-Paper-Scissors. Other people might find the mini-games childish, but even my grandma loves them.
  There are tons of new clothes too. In some Playscenes, there is even a Host Character (for example, Jolly Roger, a full-grown Bulldog comes out to play with your dogz in South Seas Island) Some people have been spreading rumors that you don't need to feed your dogz on Petz 5. NOT TRUE!!! In fact, there's even a medicine bottle where you can apply medicine to your pet's food and water if they are sick.
  If your petz run away, you can go to the Adoption Center and check out the brown bulletin board to see if anyone has found your pet. If there is a note saying your pet has been found you are given one more chance to give your dog/cat a good life.
  I give this game five stars, two thumbs up, and four paws up.

  Hey! This is Qweenie @ QP4. I just got Dogz 5 the other day and I have to say it is pretty good... Well, here are the pros and cons of it:

  Pro: 5 new breeds.
  Con: No more adopting pigz.
  Pro: Some new toys.
  Con: No more toy closet, you must find all the toys yourself and/or win them from the mini games.
  Pro: New playscenes.
  Con: It takes a bazillion years to get from one playscene to the next and sometimes locks up.
  Pro: Improved graphics.
  Con: All the old bugs from Petz 4 are still there. (Although I haven't seen that darn Debug and Abort sign yet.^-^)
  Pro: You can make litters!
  Con: The maximum petz in a litter is only four and some people such as myself like to do at least five. =(
  Pro: There are some neat weather effects and day and night cycles!
  Con: They are just graphic effects and the petz don't even notice.

  Okay, there are a lot more pros and cons of the game but I'm getting tired of writing this review so you'll just have to find them yourself. ;-)

  If you've played Dogz/Catz 4, you'll understand how much fun this game is. You can breed your Petz, enter them in Showz, and teach them tricks. Now that Petz 5 is coming out, everyone that has played Petz is excited. Now, there are day and night cycles, weather effects, petz have litterz up to 4 kittens/puppies, and there are five new breeds! What are the new breeds? Well, for sure are Pugz and Papillonz for the Dogz, but no word yet on Catz. There is a posibility that another Dog might be Colliez. Of course, there will also be Mini-Games and more toys and clothes and playscenes. Currently, there is a really nice playscene out of the "Grooming Palor", now you can bathe your Petz!   In the new version of Dogz you can enjoy multiple litters of puppyz, new weather effects and day and night cycles in graphically updated playscenes, including five new places to play with your dogz. Dogz can now have up to 4 puppyz in a litter. There are 5 new dogz breedz added.you can play minigames also! You can play 5 minigames in all. Last but not least there are new and improved 24-bit graphics that are simply marvelous!

  I'm one of the winners of the Early Adopters Sweepstakes for Dogz5, I'm just writing a review on some of the new things and changes. The biggest thing is the compatibility, for all of us trying to run 98 software on XP..it just doesn't work that way!, The new 24 bit graphics is nice, the previous playscenes all have alterations of some sort, yes the Playscene Host characters are still there, the new minigames are a bit confusing at first, and I'm sure if you've looked into this you know the new breeds, day-night cycles, multiple litters, so I'll tell you what you don't know. There are new toys including a plush unicorn, Bakon Treats, A ghostbox, a Scarecrow toy, a paw shaped nightlight, a hummingbird feeder, and more!, Now a big change, if you've had Petz software before this, is there is no Toyz Room, You start off with a few toys from past games, the ball that rolls on it's own, ect, and you have a scrollbar on your inventory so you can hold as much as you want! Well I don't want to spoil the game too much more for you, so I hope this helped longtime petz fans, and new ones aswell ^^;

  Hello everybody! I have just purchased and have recieved the game and have liked it alot. I disagree with all the negative reviews being written about Petz 5. People should at least respect that the men and women who made the game put alot of effort and arm grease into creating this product. The mini-games are cool, and challenging. They may be hard at first, but you have to keep on practicing to get it right. All the host characters crack me up. Especially the bulldog with the beard dressed in a pirate outfit that comes out to play with your petz when you go to the playscene "South Seas Island" There are sooo many cool clothes and toys, including: A lion outfit, a zebra outfit, an elephant outfit (includes ears and trunk !lol!) denim pants, black leather pants, an Arabian princess outfit, Santa Clause outfit, a cool plaid vest, a turban, many more pants, T-shirts, and socks. Unicorn doll, coool leprechaun doll, a fish bowl with real fish you can feed, a nightlight that plugs in real electrical outlets in the Kitchen and Living-Room. Remember, there's so much much more!! I give this game five stars, two thumbs and four paws up. Keep it up P.F Magic and Ubisoft!
  
  
• Improving on Dogz 4

  Dogz 5 is a great game for dog lovers, especially if you don't have a real dog. The game, along with the previous versions, is not a very realistic simulation, though, as a lot parts are left out. A few of these are: your Dogz don't go to the bathroom, you are not required to walk your Dogz, and your Dogz will not have more than four puppies. But, the game is still very fun. A few reviewers have mentioned that there isn't a toy closet anymore. Actually, your supply case becomes a portable toy closet, and works just the same way; except you have to win a lot of the toys in mini-games. While the environments and toys have better graphics, the Dogz themselves have the same graphics from Dogz 4. In fact, the game has a lot of the features from Dogz 4, such as the playscenes, costumes, and playscene editor. There are 5 new breeds, which are: Golden Retriever, German Shepherd, Jack Russel Terrier, Pappillion, and Pug. There are a bunch of new costumes, including the ones the hosts wear in Dogz 4. There are a few new playscenes, including Salon (which is where the clothes closet is), Asian Temple, Haunted Mansion, and Fantasy Castle. There are now day and night cycles, which can be set to your computer's clock, and weather effects. There are some new toys. There are now mini-games for you and your Dogz to play. You get your toys from the mini-games. And now your Dogz can have litters of 1-4 puppies. One downside is that you can no longer adopt Pigz. If you own a previous version of Dogz, you can import your Dogz to Dogz 5, making your older version pretty much obsolete (unless you want Pigz). I would recommend this game to dog lovers and owners of previous Dogz games.

  I'll admit it, I was a bit iffy about this one. I figured that Dogz 5 couldn't be THAT much better than Dogz 4... but guess what? It is!
  Here there's all new breedz such as pugz, golden retrieverz, papillionz, etc. And this cool stuff like mini-games- I love the agility one... sooo cool! Then, when your dogz breed, you don't have to take tons of time to make the litterz- they already have them! Sometimes you get only 2 pupz but hey it's better than one, right?
  I absolutely LOVE this game and I'm working on an all new Dogz 5 website for it called... Wooferz Kennelz!...

  Dogz 5 is a wonderful game that I got a few weeks ago. I currently have about 50 dogz, of all different breeds. To me, this game is lots of fun, but my mom and some of my friends think it's boring. It kind of depends on what you like. If you like creator games like Roller Coaster Tycoon or Zoo tycoon, or if you like control games like the Sims, then this is the game for you.
  If you do get bored with taking your dogs out and feeding, watering, and playing with them, there are a bunch of mini games in different play scenes like the Scarab Crunch in Arabia, Tic-Tac-Toe in the Wild West, or Simon Says in the Haunted Mansion.
  After three or four days, when your dogz have become adults, you can choose to breed them. Making them fall in love is kind of tricky, but the puppies are really cute! Unless, that is, you breed a Poodle with a Chihuahua like I did once. The puppies weren't really what you'd normally call "cute."
  A friend of mine has Dogz 4, but I think Dogz 5 is WAY better. It may not look very good, but it's great. It's worth the price.
  
  
• Fun despite a few bugs

  The newest version of Dogz adds a few more breeds, though the pig option is taken away. The best part of this one is the new play areas and the fact that the "suitcase" is now the "toy closet". The toys have to be earned from playing games in the new areas, but most are not so challenging that young children would have any troulbe.

  This version is supposed to be XP compatible, but I have still experienced a few bugs causing it to shut down unpredictably.

  I have played petz4 for about three years and it is still alot of fun to play! In petz4 there are Bulldogs, chihuahuas, dachshunds, dalmations, great danes, labradors, mutts, poodles, scotties, and sheepdogs! Petz5 will be adding the pug, golden retriever, papilion, german shepered, and jack russel. But dont worry, you do not need petz4 to get petz5.
  There are ALOT of new toys in petz5 and you have to learn games to get them all. Your petz start as puppies and grow to adults. Once they are adults your petz can fall in love and have a litter of 1-4 puppies. Each puppie in the litter is unique which makes the game even more fun! It is like having a new house because there are so many rooms to go to in the house and then you can also travel places with your petz. But if you want to see pictures of the game go to petz...

  As a big petz fan, I feel I can give a well-informed review of the game based on my years of playing with them, breeding, owning sites, hexing etc. Here's my down-low on the game:

  The first thing I noticed about it was that in the manual it says "when you cheat with your computer's calendar to speed up the birth of your Puppyz, the mother will become stuck in her pregnancy status. If this happens, there is no way to fix it! Be patient, don't do it!" This seems pretty threatening, but I still have been able to time-forward without having to deal with stuck pregnancies.

  There is no longer the Playpen, the Clothes or Toy Closet. The Salon had basically taken over the Clothes Closet. The supply shelf now acts like the Toy Closet, but you will have to do a lot of hunting around in the game to get all the toys. When you win the mini games, you are rewarded with a new toy. I think thats both a positive and a negative. Its positive because you want to spend more time in the game playing to win toys, but negative because when you want a certain toy, it may not be available. As for the Playpen, I wish they wouldn't have taken it out. I don't know about anyone else, but I used it basically as my breeding room because they were no distractions.

  The new breeds are cool, but I found that the Golden Retriever has a major problem with the sleepy syndrome. When I was in the adoption center, almost every one of them that I took out had the syndrome. I guess they chose not to fix that bug from the last versions.

  The mini games are fun, but there are some problems with them too. In the agility game, I could not get my dogz to walk full length of the catwalk, all they did was sit there. Also, in the gopher tic-tac-toe, its hard to get your pet to fall on the right spot...it will often drop them on a different square than you wanted it to. I think the easiest game is in Arabia, so if you want to win some toys quickly, I suggest going there first.

  I guess I've been spending time talking about the negatives, but the game is good overall. The best feature is definitely the litters. It makes a breeders work so much easier :)

  Thats my review...I give it three and a half stars out of five overall. Hopefully Ubisoft will get some of our improvement suggestions and add a patch so that it will become a five star game.
  
  

• Petz 5 Still Buggy.

  Alright, I've had Petz since the START, those badly colored disgruntled images they started out with. Petz has continued to improve over the years, the Petz 5 release loosing some of the older players who thought the new enviroment ideas were just too immature for them. Petz has lost it's popularity, there was a big downfall during the year when PF.Magic claimed to not be makeing the software anymore. But anyways what you really want to hear about is the game so these would be my comments:

  The Pigz are now unadoptable and also I've seen the reviews have forgotten to add that the Bunnyz are unadoptable aswell, although that is a plus too the Catz portion of the software.
  For you older users there is no longer a toy closet!, No you see those "nifty" new games they've added in have rewards..and those rewards are new and old toys! I'm pretty sure if you're reading this you've heard of the Litterz of puppies, the puppies are kept in nursery's with their mothers and their can be 1 too 4 of them, However I dislike this because you can no longer get those cute shots of newborns in hats and "diapers", nor can they be around their fathers or other young pups..o-well.
  The salon is the replacement for the clothing, but again, that same bug we had before!, Clothing lacks their matching outfit parts..such as heart pjs and no bottoms..Bah!..several incomplete outfits which I'm not going to both listing here, and the clothes sometimes can't be picked up..this is buggy..but the biggest dissapointment was the new bathtub..ok..the ducky is great..but all the bathtub is; is some new unaffected animation, the tub itself it NOTHING but a covered ledge. This was horribly annoying.
  That's all about the scenary everything else is pretty basic...
  Messed up graphics...nose on tail...eyes on back of head..that bit...the Dogz NOW need food again to be happy but they still have that bug where they simply refuse to bother with drinking water...makes our lives easier...I'm running out of room anyways...Oh! A major bug I forgot, there's this little bug that after a while your Dogz may claim to not have a file..I almost broke the disk until I found the solution, you have to remove your pets from the Adopted Petz file, reload it, then put them back and load again. Pesky isn't it?
  This about sums is up if you read it all. I was a little dissapointed, and was glad I won the Catz part, I think Ubisoft should have kept it a few months longer and worked out the bugs, or lowered the usual introduction price...All the new games aren't all exciting and their bugs wouln't be listed here...
  
  

• Dogz 5 is Great!

  My mom recently bought Dogz 5. It is an excellent game. You can have so many dogs, but make sure you can care for them all or they will run away! You can do multiple things with your different personality pets. You can feed them, bathe them, dress them (There are alot of choices. You can even dress your dog as a tiger) you can take them to different scences (snow scence, family room, bathroom, kitchen, backyard, arabia, fantasy castle, and more!) In each room you can either do an action with your pet's like feed them in the kitchen or you can play a mini game with them. In mini games you can win various prizes. A con about this is that while playing the games you may get doubles of prizes,and there are SO many picture frames which you can win. However, many of the games are fun, but only one dog can be out to play the game including host dogs. That means if you have more then one dog you need to put one in yor briefcase. The remaining dog becomes lonely. The HAPPY PET CERTIFICATE can be earned if a mother has puppies. The mother stays with her new baby in the new room, The Nursery. The male cannot come into the nursery and the female cannot leave the nursery until the newborn is a puppy. The scenes are so realistic and everyone can play this. I play this ..., my sister plays ..., and my mom plays, and many younger kids love playing. Dont think this game is so easy. Teaching tricks is hard. In one of the mini games you need your dogz to jump through a hoop. My dog has only jumped through once. But what aI am trying to say is you need patience.
  NOTE - Before you adopt dogs note that I think only same breed dogs can mate. Also study the pets you want behavior. Watch them get along with the other pet you want, because you cannot return the pets. I was not careful and I had to take the game out of the registry and reinstall it to have another set of pets.

  This is a great game and I hope you enjoyed this review.

• A far cry...

  As a devoted follower of the Petz programs, I had looked forward to the release of Petz 5 with fervor. The descriptions the company, Ubi Soft, presented seemed to offer a range of improvements: new breeds, toys, scenes, etc. However, within the first two hours of importing my six-year old Great Dane that had been with me from Petz 1, I found this newest version to be a disappointment yet again. I believe the best Petz series created was Petz 3, the last and greatest work of P.F. Magic. I agree with other seasoned Petz owners that many of the changes implemented in Petz 5 are meant to disillusion newer audiences.

  Looking back at the evolution of Petz 1 to Petz 2 to Petz 3, one can see the drastic changes from each successive version. For example, Petz 2 had greatly improved graphics, more toys, breeds, and a host of other advancements from Petz 1. At this time, P.F. Magic also spawned an online community of avid Petz fans, with thousands of websites proudly displaying Petz adoptions, galleries, message boards, petz shows, etc. This thriving "family" of virtual Petz lovers prompted P.F. Magic to launch the nearly flawless Petz 3 program, where Petz could breed--a dream come true. Playscenes were also added, a modest handful of scenes that nonetheless captured the interest of a broader audience. Unfortunately, the unprecedented success of Petz 3 also captured Mindscape's eye, and the small but highly motivated P.F. Magic was dissolved into the jaws of a massive corporation.

  However, it seemed that with the passing of P.F. Magic, the once soaring online community also died. Petz 4, which was produced by Mindscape, lost the energy and drive which made Petz 3 such a success. It featured nothing new. A few additional playscenes and voice recognition along with glittery advertisement were not enough to buoy the dwindling passion of Petz owners. Finally, Ubi Soft acquired Mindscape, which led to Petz 5. To be blunt, this game is a pathetic attempt to seduce consumers. They added new breeds, yes, but if one looks closely, the breeds are just physically altered "copies" of the original Petz 3 breeds. The personalities of these new breeds are not newly created. Ubi Soft just didn't take the time to make them, as P.F. Magic did. And yes, there are new playscenes, but that concept has gone from brilliant to normal to overused. Many other reviewers also commented on the astounding number of bugs the game has; it is yet another affirmaton of the haphazard development of the game. The mini-games, too, are a marketing ploy to jazz up an old gem...like an old house being retouched to look attractive to unsuspecting buyers. Look beyond the fresh paint and the new furnishings and you will find the same old framework, same old foundations. That is one of the greatest insults a company can make to consumers.

  Although Petz 5 clearly is a far cry from its predecessors, the future of these beloved virtual lives lies in the hands of big companies. It is important to support sales and offer constructive critism to remind the makers that we demand quality because we are important. These eager, new fans of Petz 5 do not deserve the disillusionment Ubi Soft uses to veil its blunders.

  I'm one of the drawing winners of Dogz5, so I have a copy of it even though it hasn't been shipped out yet, here's some info about the new software. Of course for most of us who have previously played Petz Software the most important thing about Petz5 is the compatibility with Windows 200, and Windows XP, No more freezing and overly fast animation. There is 24 bit in Petz 5, the Playscenes are slightly different, And of course there is the 4 new mini games and the new breedz. One of the most suprising things I noticed about Petz5 is there is NO TOYROOM, you get different toys from different playscenes. However the Petz inventory has a scroller to hold whatever you need. Some of the new toys include a scarecrow, a nightlight, a hummingbird feeder, a ghostbox, Bakon Treats ect. There is also more outfits, a few of the older ones were removed or altered. I just recieved the game maybe 20 minutes ago so I'm not sure on everything yet!, I hope this helps somewhat to New and Old Players. ^^;

  Dogz 5 is a brilliant game! There are five new breedz, and they are quite cute! Well, most of them. Also, there are weather changes, along with day and night! You can also visit new areas, and there are mini games! You win toys from these mini games. Your dogz can also have litterz! Unfortunately, there are some flukes. When my dogz have litterz, all of the puppies but one don't make noise when they leave their mother! I find this weird, but I don't yet know if it happens all the time. Another fluke is when you try to feed your dogz, the food dish bounces and falls. Your dogz never get to eat! This can be solved, however, by bringing your dogz to the Desktop. The food doesn't bounce around there. Also, you can pick toyz up right from the playscenes in the beginning, such as food and water in the Kitchen. If you don't pick them up, though, the next time you load the game, they are gone. So far, it doesn't look like you can win them back either! Another problem that I have is that when you win a toy and put it in your supplies case, yet don't take it out and into a playscene before you quit, it doesn't register you won the toy and you have to win it again; quite annoying. However, despite these errors, I still feel this is an excellent game that is worth buying.

  Dogz 5 is a game where you adopt, raise, feed, and play with your own special dogz. There are many different breeds of dogs to pick from, and you can have as many as you want! But be sure you can take care of all of them or they will run away!

  There are many different places you can go to such as the kitchen, backyard, nursery, Arabia, you can even create your own room, and more!

  Your dogz can have litters of 1-4 puppies. You can help your dogz fall in love by using the heart pillow, love potion, and treats. You can earn these items by playing mini-games with your dogz such as tic-tac-toe.

  Dogz 5 and Catz 5 in my opinion and many others' is the best game created since I have been born. My mom and dad can't take me away from the computer! Even if I'm going to a friend's house!
  
  

• Dogz 5 the best game i have ever played...

  Having fifteen breed and being able to download more from special sites, dogz 5 has a lot of variety. Mostly because all the dogz are different. And now being able to have litterz of four is great hting too. So many rooms and places to go to too. You can even create rooms. and there is mini games too. This is how you earn your items, by playing games! There's tic tac toe and rock paper scissors and many more.

  The call it dogs 5 for a reason, because its worth five stars!
  
  

• Its one of my favorite computer games!

  Breed 'em, train 'em, show 'em! You can adopt many different dog breeds and mix them to create new ones, or download hexed breeds off the net. .. You can feed, pet, and play with your Dogz as well. I've grown practically attached to some of the Dogz, like they were real or something! Dogz 5 is a terrific game, basically, but there are some things about it that makes me prefer Dogz 4.

  Pro: Day and night cycles and weather effects!
  Con: Your Dogz don't notice the weather or nighttime.
  Pro: Litters!
  Con: Only four pups or less per litter; you can only take the mom and her pups in the nursery when the pups are newborns and infants, and no one else is allowed inside with them.
  Pro: New toys!
  Con: You have to actually win or find them; no more toy closet.

  I could go on for MUCH longer, esp. with the pros, but I'll spare you. Despite the cons, I think you should buy this game; it has served me many hours of merriment.

  DOGZ5 IS AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! There are many different kinds of breeds to adopt, and no, they are not called "scrappy" and "boots" anymore, they are the names of actuall breeds, like Dachsund, Golden Retriever, Pug etc. You can even breed two breeds together for MUTANT MUTTS!( I'm trying to breed a sheepdog and a dachsund)Then, Breed one mutant puppie breed with another for a FOUR BREED MIXES! Also, you can dress your dogs in clothes, and they can show off! You can even create your own "playscene"(backdrop)for your pets!

  ... Having the toys in the travel case is a nice new feature, but having to play all the mini-gamez to get the toyz is a bit irritating. Now you can only have one mother out at a time and only in the nursery, which is annoying, too.

  All the features from previous petz is continued except for the toy closet, of course. Excellent how they actually CHANGED it this time- Petz 4 was much the same as 3, but this is really different and worth the money. I don't own it personally as of yet, but my friend has it and we've been experimenting for 5 hours or so. Can't wait til I buy it, I can upload my 100's of petz... ~o~

  The new breedz they added have really expanded the possibilities of what one can breed without hexing, yay. Oh, you can't adopt pigz/bunniez anymore, but they were useless anyway. If you really want to see them, there is a pig host in the backyard. (Though I haven't seen a bunny yet)

  Hi. I have recently heard about Petz 5 on the internet. I don't have the game, but I'm going to order it. Of the other reviews I've read, it sounds like a FUN GAME!! You have to play the mini games to win some of the toys and stuff. And there is a host character in every room you go to, (I THINK!). There is a temple scene, a haunted mansion scene, and a nursery where only pregnant mothers can go. The female adults can have 1-4 babyz at a time. Theres day and night cycles. And it can rain, snow, be sunny, or rainy out. I don't have the game, but thats what other people said the game have. I WANT TO ORDER IT FAST!!! IT sounds really fun! Theres five new breedz(border collie-papillion-pug--and two more that I forgot) Oh yes, I put 5 stars because IT sounds and looks really awesome!! I would suggest you buy this game!!! It sounds better then the SIMS UNLEASHED! PLUS NEW COOL CLOTHES in Petz 5!!!

  This game is really fun for all ages. I bought the original Dogz when I was 2 or 3 and I've been hooked on the games ever sience.

  Pros:

  New breeds
  Weather efects
  More than one puppy can be in a litter(or kitten if you have Catz 5)
  More objects
  More playscenes

  CONS:

  Petz don't respond to the weather. i.e. snowing and getting cold.
  Daddies of the litter can't go into the nursery to see the litter.
  You have to play games to get items.

  That pretty much does it. I think that if you are between 4 and 400 this game is okay. It provides hours of fun and even though there are some cons, I thingk you should get this game. You won;t be dissipointed.

  I had gotten these games from the second version on. This one is the best yet, in my opinion. In the beginning one could only go four places, the adoption center, the toy closet, the desktop, and the playpen. My gosh, has the world gotten bigger!
  
  The new breeds and personalities added are absolutely adorable, and I recommend getting Catz 5 as well. Petz who fall in love stay in love, and one can also neuter or spay, and 'return' petz. The graphics are great, the sontrast between night and day, snowy and clear are wonderful. Some games are hard while others are simple, so it can be for all ages...
  
  However, when I installed the game for the first time, I didn't have any dog or cat food. I keep trying to win it or find a website that allows you to download it, but alas.
  
  Another thing is that now that you can have more kitties and puppies, though adorable one can overpopulate their petz house really easy. There is no limit to the amount of petz you can have, however, its real easy to get so many that you can only take care of a few a day.
  
  Oh, and finally, wasn't there a version of petz where you could adopt bunniez and piggiez as well? I think it would be neat to adopt more than just doggiez and kittiez! n.n

  I did enjoy this game, but there are a few things that I would've changed. Just to let you know, this is the only petz game I have ever played, although I do own Babyz. I wanted no. 4 for awhile, but I decided that I wanted no. 5 better and got it. For one thing, posting that your dog ran away on the board thing never helps. The people don't seem to care, and you never get your dog back, which made me real sad, as my first dogz ever ran away and never came back. The animatian could have been just a little better, but I know they tried their best. Having the day and night cycles change according to your computer clock would be neat, because I don't think they do.
  
  The puppy thing was a neat addition, but why isn't the father allowed in the nursery? It's kind of silly to me. The mini game thing was just sort of a bother, since a lot of them are complicated, and I played the easiest one over and over, only to find myself getting the same things over and over. The playscene editer was difficult, and I couldn't upload things onto it. But that's the cons. Some pros are: real things like the dogs not wanting to take a bath, cockroaches in the kitchen, etc; overall, it's an enjoyable game and realistic too.

  Dogz 5 is the best pet game yet! The host pigs and dogz can be anoying sometimes. But everything is GREAT!!! The mini games are fun, the breeds are cute and the playscenes are cool. You have to get this!!!!!! I have 1 female dog in Dogz 5. I might adopt a puppy. I don't know yet. You can find things for Catz, Dogz and babyz at www. DRN.com. Bye. Have lots of fun!
