Best Price: $249.99 $169.99

The press features a die-cast aluminum base for durability and even pressure. A washable pressing pad cushions fabrics, protecting button, zippers, and other protruding articles. Prior to use, the user fills the 8-ounce capacity water tank and then selects the appropriate temperature setting for the wrinkled garments. Once turned on, the press operates at 110 to 120 volts AC. The press automatically shuts off when the pressing plate has been left unattended for a prolonged period of time and an audio alarm alerts the user. A spray bottle, optional work stand, shoulder pad, and funnel accompany the press. As with all electrical appliances, read the enclosed warnings and user guidelines prior to use. A limited one-year warranty covers this item. The press measures 24 by 22 by 9 inches and weighs 19.8 pounds. MPN: SP660 - UPC: 047171206602

  • Excellent Time Saver - Easy To Operate

    By AQ2CW4KAD631W on 2004-09-20
Despite some of the negative reviews I had read about steam pressing, I forged forward and purchased this item. One common concern among other reviewers was the inability to press dress shirts, without creating crease in the wrong places. I did not encounter this problem. I would suggest you practice placing articles of clothing on the iron prior to starting up. I did this and it worked like a charm. It also cut down my ironing time by 50% or more. The optional steam capability works great. Note, when you use this option it will reduce the temperature of the iron. On the whole it operated wonderfully and created very nice creases(in the right places), on slacks as well as shirts. I will be ordering the optional table, this way I will be able to sit while I press.

  • It is a new process - but works great

    By A1VDI9LS45HNZE on 2006-08-30
I learned how to iron in the Army, putting creases on my uniforms each Sunday night before I go to work. And I was pretty good at it. But I always thought there had to be a better way. This is a great product and I imagine as an appliance, one is probably comparable to the other, the difference being price and features.
The trick, and perhaps the reason for some negative reviews is that folks seem to expect it to be similar to hand ironing. It is not. You need to develop a new process, tackle your clothes differently. I suggest three things:
    1. Think in big chunks. Remember the hand iron is small and most of us who can iron think in small areas. This appliance will tackle much bigger areas. And it will iron both sides at once - don't stress yourself about flipping things over - spend time instead on smoothing out the wrinkles and then simply drop the handle, hit a bolt or two of steam. Be patient, the skills will come.
    2. Let it warm up - I plug it in, turn it on and putter a bit, gathering laundry and prepping my clothes. I set it up on my old ironing board and then simply lower it down so I can sit at the couch and iron while watching the evening news.
    3. Practice, practice, practice. If you have a garment that absolutely must be ironed perfectly for a meeting in an hour - and you have never used this press before - then you will be disappointed. I suggest practice placing items on it while it is unplugged and cold - you will quickly get the hang of it. When first trying it out, iron a few old shirts, pants or dresses to get the hang of it. Then jump in. In a few short attempts at ironing you will quickly master the new skill and find that indeed ironing is no longer a task that lasts hours and hours.

I can get a week's work of ironing in just a little over an hour and now I can put a nice starched shirt on and grab a pair of creased pants for my corporate executive job - and I don't pay the dry cleaner to do it anymore.

  • It would be great for doll clothes

    By A374BQK4MO1S4J on 2005-10-26
I thought this thing was the size of an ironing board...its barely bigger than an iron. I spent twenty minutes trying to press a pair of pants...with only marginal results. Its interesting that in their picture they show nothing that would give you any kind of scale...a shirt a pair of pants?

Very deceptive and not worth the purchase. I returned my the next day.

I'm sure it could have some applications and the quality of the construction was fine...it's just way to small.

  • CRAP! CRAP! CRAP!

    By A2VWH28GIEP3C5 on 2005-03-09
The steamer is a piece of crap. The main problem is there was no steam. Give me a break. You may be one of the lucky ones where the steam actually works. But be leery, it looks like Amazon sent me someones elses previous defective order. I can tell by the way the items were packaged in the box. So I'm sending it back. Maybe Amazon will send it straight to you? If you like gambling, go ahead and order. But I'm sending this one back and requesting a full refund.

  • This item is awful!

    By A9C8D4BJ03SUE on 2005-03-23
Do not purchase this. It is a complete piece of junk. It takes even longer ironing with this than it does with a normal iron! You're busy positioning the shirt or pants and then you still need your regular iron for the touch ups anyway. In theory this item is great but in practicality, it is useless.

  • Good for Umpa-Lumpas -- Too Small for Real People
    By AECZX530S582I on 2006-02-23
Alright, I'm in the military and spend too many hours a day ironing my uniform. In what seemed like a grand attempt to cut this back, I thought that the SteamFast SP-660 would help. But, there were a couple of issues with the machine.

First, a side note. For some reason Amazon will not ship this item to an APO address (military stationed overseas). So, I had to ship it to a third-person who graciously forwarded it to me. Nothing to do with the product, but a sore subject with me.

The largest problem is that the board is far too small to actually iron anything quickly. I could only iron portions of the shirt and pants at a time. However, once you iron one portion, it gets re-wrinkled on the machine's hinge when you iron more. So, the depth and length of the board were unrealistic.

It heated up quickly, cooled down quickly, had great steam, but was absolutely ineffective at saving time.

In short, if you're using this to iron your children's clothing or an umpa-lumpa costume, it should be fine. If you're ironing "real-people clothing," I would stick with a traditional iron and ironing board, or reinvest in your local drycleaner.

  • Do Not Buy This!!!!!!!!!
    By A8J3HOU8MU3Y5 on 2005-06-07
My husband is in the Army and he bought this to iron his BDU's. It was a complete waste of money and time. After he iron his BDU's with the steam press , he had to re iron them with the iron. We purchased this from another store and paid $170.00. It is not worth the money. I wish we had read reviews before we bought this. We promptly took this back to the store for a full refund!

  • Great Machine

  • Replacement update
    By A25JSYYFCG8JSK on 2005-09-20
Received SteamFast SP-660 to replace 8 year old, slightly larger, steam press. On/off switch is improvement. 3 weeks of use has not found the final press result similar to older model of EuroPro but satisfactory. Remain able to finish laundry ironing under 1 hour for the week!! Do not use hand iron anymore.

  • Steamfast- not quite as fast as I thought
    By A3V2GCB43AIY1X on 2006-02-27
The Steamfast press is faster than a conventional iron, but may not be as fast as you think. With a little practice you can get it down. I would suggest that if you iron a lot of shirts and don't want to pay the cleaners, go ahead and get it. It will save you money in the long run.

  • burn yourself on your new steam iron
    By A1RBE4KJ5U17GD on 2006-03-20
I really like the way the steam iron works. I used last night for the first time it's easy to set up and easy to use. Just be carefull around small children. It puts a nice crease one the jeans and other things.

  • steamfast sp 660
    By AQLBH6D80OKRJ on 2005-09-09
I received this item with no instructions,no warranty card and missing a part. Kept it anyway, too much work to send it back. It works ok on pants and t shirts, can't use it on man tailored shirts.

  • SteamFast SP-660
    By A2L8TEEIWYGNW2 on 2006-03-03
I have purchases several irons in my life and have always thought there was a better way to iron. I believe I found that when I purchased the SteamFast SP-660. I've been able to use on a variety of items from Jeans to nylon shorts and dress shirts. It does a wonderful job on the big areas but I haven't mastered the small hard to reach places like around pant pockets or the upper side of a dress shirt on the back side (shoulder blade area). It does speed the ironing process a lot. I'm not sure that the steam does its job. I do keep a water bottle handy and that works great. All in all I'm glad I purchased it. I hope it lasts for at least the next 5 years and then I will totally sold that it was the right purchase for me.

  • This Product Works
    By A3ODGMH3I5TSLM on 2005-10-03
The product works just as I expected. I am able to press more clothing in less time and get that crisp dry cleaner look. I am 100% satisfied with this product.

  • Time-saver, Great value for the busy person
    By A3EMR98M4NO4D9 on 2006-02-01
I bought this steam press to iron my sons' school uniforms. It works great and saves time. Pants and shirts look like they've come from the dry cleaners. I'm pleased. It saves time, was not too expensive, does what it says it does. what else could anyone want?

  • Fast, User Friendly
    By ALGSJNFH7511 on 2007-03-08
Works just fine for my needs ... I use it to press my 'wrinkle-free' Dockers. The water container for the steam is a bit awkward to fill . . . but once it is filled it lasts a good long time. Heavy duty, well-constructed , dependable unit. First package 'disappeared' at UPS. When they shipped the first machine, it was evidently damaged and returned back to Amazon by UPS. (probably due to the thin cardboard used for packing) The replacement shipment arrived just fine, and, as always Amazon customer service very helpful on shipping replacement while first package was still 'lost'.

  • SteamFast SP-660 Table Top Steam Press
    By A1BF20BCIQQJ2M on 2006-07-07
I like the ironing part of it, but more often than not it doesn't steam when it's supposed to. I have to spray from a water bottle to get the results I want.

  • satisfied
    By AOO0GL9G5D4G3 on 2006-10-08
The product works great and makes clothes look much better that an iron. The steam does not always work, but this doesn't affect the results. It seems like much less work than ironing.I am very satisfied!

  • Good
    By A2UO21QCGH1I9F on 2007-03-08
Although its small but once you got used to it, it's a lot easier than using a hand iron especially for cotton pants.

  • Wonderful product
    By A1I9QWGP7IU46W on 2007-03-15
This press does exactly what you would think it would. It does take a little bit to learn how to place the fabric so you do not end up with wrinkles. You get a professional look without going to the cleaners. Much better than standing at an ironing board with an iron.

  • Well worth it for my purposes
    By AZ316MMLT1SVV on 2006-11-10
Before ordering I thoroughly read all the reviews and researched competing products. I pretty well understood what I was getting and am fully satisfied with the SP-660.

  • Good in principle
    By A2ALBWH09ELGVO on 2006-12-01
First of all the item is too small. it is about 1/3 the lenght of a pair pants and 1/3 as wide. So as you can see it is pretty small. So it is a lot of moving around and adjusting which causes previously ironed parts to become wrinkled again.

It does not make life easier. good in principle but does not work.

  • Exactly as Expected
    By ANURJDDZKASTE on 2007-01-20
The SteamFast SP-660 Table Top Steam Press performs exactly as we thought it would - very well, cutting the ironing time by as much as 50%. No kidding! After considering the Steam Fast SF-680 Digital Fabric Steam Press (which has received rave reviews), along with a few others, we opted for this one at nearly $100 less (especially when you type in the promotional code to get the additional $25 discount. Enter code CLEAROUT at checkout). Honestly, not having tried the other, we can't really compare. We can only report that the SP-660 does require a little re-learning, but it's not difficult and it is well worth the few minutes invested!

If you have difficulty ironing at all, this product will NOT help you. It does not perform miracles. However, if you iron regularly with success, once you learn how to use the SP-660, you will find this to be a timesaver.

When this product first arrived, we didn't have any distilled water in the house, but we started using it without filling the water reservoir. We find that using spray-on wrinkle releaser, light starch, or plain water (using the included spray bottle filled with water), yields crisp presses. We haven't felt the need to use the steam press feature yet.

We did not purchase the stand (it seems rather pricey), and instead have put the press on top of a standard ironing board. This works, although it is probably not the perfect solution.

One last thought; we debated over whether we should get a press with a larger ironing surface (SF-680). We've decided that this slightly smaller surface is sufficient and is probably an easier transition from a regular iron. However, we are ironing mostly women's clothes, which tend to have smaller flat areas.

Hope this helps with your decision.

  • Thumbs up!!
    By AGEL4OYHZFGF6 on 2007-02-19
I love this machine. While it does take some getting used to it sure does make ironing a breeze. Yes, the ironing space is a bit smaller than I'd like it to be but hey, at this price I can't really complain.

  • Not pleased
    By AVJARQOJFL3CZ on 2007-05-18
I had to return this Table Top Steam Press. I thought it much bigger than it really was. The Prss worked just fine, it was too small for what I wanted it for...Thanks...Bob

  • Wish I bought this years ago!!
    By A2JM0W43BNG5XT on 2007-03-30
Because of the expense I thought about whether or not I should buy the Steampress or just use the old-fashioned method of ironing. I've had the Steampress about 1-1/2 months now and it's great. I can iron men's shirts in
less than a minute, pants in 30 seconds with beautiful creases. I also leave it set up in our den so it's easy to get to and turn on and off. I never have to use the old-fashioned ironing board, iron, etc.

  • Very nice product
    By A1UN7F6AHG11XW on 2007-04-05
This table top press is the next best thing to having clothes pressed at the dry cleaners. If your a person that wears a uniform, then dry cleaning can become costly; so then the steam press is your answer. Not only does the steam press perform as exactly as described, it also comes with an audible alarm to warn you the clothes are ready. This unit can become hot just like a traditional iron and care has to be given when using this product. For a professional look, and a unit that will pay for itself in no time, this product is for you.

  • Not that great
    By A1P9U37NT5T53N on 2007-05-12
Purchased item to make ironing faster and easier and it didn't. Maybe a bigger surface might work better.

  • A few problems; still useful
    By A2SKFXJLV940E on 2007-05-27
The first one got smashed in shipping, and a second one was shipped. I have used it for a few months so far, 5 shirts a week. Press does not get hot enough to make steam reliably except on hottest "linen" setting, so I use the spray bottle. Under the cloth cover, an aluminum coating on the board wore off on the edges and brown stuff from the board oozed through the cloth cover onto my clothes, which was fixed by putting aluminum foil on the board. The hinge at the back pinches fabric and has put holes in two of my shirts. There is no marked temperature setting for "polyester". Still worthwhile to use; Next I will get a bigger one.
