Pokemon 4Ever: Moviex$5.84
    (48 reviews)
Best Price: $5.84
All of your favorite Pokémon characters are back and are joined for the first time by the legendary Pokémon Celebi and Suicune in this latest exciting Pokemon adventure! In order to escape a greedy Pokémon hunter, Celebi must use the last of its energy to travel through time to the present day. Celebi brings along Sammy, a boy who had been trying to protect it. Along with Ash, Pikachu, and the rest of the gang, Sammy and Celebi encounter an enemy far more advanced than the hunter left behind in the past. This new enemy possesses a Pokeball called a "Dark Ball," which transforms the Pokémon it captures into evil and far stronger creatures. When Celebi is captured, the fate of the entire forest is threatened. Let POKÉMON 4EVER transport you to a world of adventure as Ash, Suicune, and the rest take action to save the day!
The fourth Pokémon feature follows the pattern set by the previous three--and falls into the same traps. The TV series depicts the modest adventures of Pokémon trainer Ash Ketcham and his friends Brock and Misty as they roam an imaginary world, fighting matches and making friends. The features add elaborate CG effects that don't mesh with the flat, drawn characters, and over-scaled threats that feel beyond Ash's abilities to resolve. Forty years ago, Sam, a young trainer, meets the 251st Pokémon Celebi (it looks like Tinkerbell with a goldfish for a head). To escape a mean hunter, Celebi brings Sam to the present day, where they meet Ash & Company. They also meet the evil Iron Mask Marauder who's supposed to be a member of Team Rocket, but who's much nastier than the comically inept Jessie, James, and Meowth. The Marauder corrupts Celebi with a "dark ball" and forces it to create a monster out of trees, branches, etc., that is blatantly copied from the Night Walker in Princess Mononoke. Ash and his friends eventually save the day, the Pokémon, and the forest--but it all feels like we've been there/done that. --Charles Solomon

WOW! By A280J87N83E884 on 2003-01-22
Far from liking this movie, I've seen it three times, which I think makes it obvious that no, I didn't like it, I LOVED IT! The animation is wonderful, just as good, if not better than the 3rd installment, The Spell of the Unown. There are new characters, new Pokemon and new twists and turns. You even learn a little bit about Professor Samuel Oak! The only let down to the movie is the immense use of computer animation, maybe even too much of it and it's not blended with the animation as well as it could have been, but's that's perfectly easy to ignore when you look at the movie in it's entirety. The animation, like I said, was wonderful. All the original characters return, Ash, Misty, Brock and Pikachu who are joined by a little boy named Sam. Team Rocket returns though we meet a new member whose downright evil compared to the last bad guys we've been introduced to in the past films and TV series, he's even worse than Mewtwo was in the 1st movie. So if you liked movies 1-3 along with Mewtwo Returns you'll rave about this one! Take note that the mini movie isn't played in theaters, it's only on the DVD, but it's pretty cute all the same and VERY funny. So there you have it, one of the best Pokemon creations yet, and with a 5th and even 6th movie on the way, who knows what could happen!
The Voice of the Forest is calling... By A1YSI93GVIVPPT on 2002-10-24
This is the first time I've had to drive a long distance just to go see a Pokemon movie(because of the fact that it's a limited release), and let me say that it was worth it. I was expecting Miramax Films to ruin the dub of the 4th Pokemon film, but my expectations weren't true. They cut out the mini-movie, "Pikachu's Hide and Seek", but Miramax probably thought it was childish. It's no problem; they most likely will release it as an extra feature on the DVD. Anyway, the main film is called "Celebi: Voice of the Forest". It's about a young boy named Sam(Yukinari in the original) who wanders off into a forest and encounters an injured Celebi. Apparantly Celebi is the Voice of the Forest and can travel back and forth through time. Soon after being attacked by a Pokemon hunter, Celebi ventures 40 years into the future to save itself-taking Sam with it. Soon, Ash and co. get into a huge situation involving Sam, Celebi, Team Rocket, Suicune, and a mean-spirited member of Team Rocket who's known as "The Iron-Masked Marauder". Anyways, Miramax left the original, orchestrated music intact. Luckily they didn't replace it with any cheesy-sounding MIDI music like Warner Bros. did with the previous Pokemon films. Also, the translation is almost a direct translation this time, like with the 3rd film. Heck, Miramax added in NEW scenes for the american release! In short, I enjoyed this film moreso than the previous Poke-movies. There was lots of action(it was a bit more violent than the other movies), and some emotional scenes as well(I almost cried when Celebi d... wait, thats a spoiler). It was suprising that they weren't scared to put in the words "die" or "dying" in the movie, either(I honestly thought it should've been rated PG) But anyways, you should see this movie; Poke-fan or not. It may just change your perceptions if you think Pokemon is a "kiddy" anime.
Maybe not 4ever... By AD1JV9Y36NKPQ on 2003-03-19
After a short, limited release in theaters last year, Pokemon 4Ever is finally coming to video courtesy of Miramax. And while it's not the vast improvement to the previous Warner Bros DVD releases we were hoping for, it is still a decent offering. The story, basically, is that Ash and company come across a boy named Sam and a Celebi, who have traveled 40 years from the past. But before Celebi can bring Sam back to his own time, it is captured by the Iron Mask Marauder, who captures Celebi using a Dark Ball, and transforms it into a destructive monster. While the Marauder and Celebi destroy the forest, Ash and Sam must try and save Celebi. There are some surprisingly emotional scenes in the movie, especially towards the end as we find out the fate of Celebi and Sam's relationship with Ash. The DVD offers trailers for this movie and the Japanese trailer for the fifth movie, as well as previews for other Miramax titles. Fans will be pleased to know that the Pikachu short has been restored for the DVD, and as usually, it's pretty funny and features plenty of cute Pokemon. It also a multi-angle animation progression feature, but the footage shown is very brief; each of the four segments clock in at barely under a few seconds, if that. One major complaint about this DVD is that despite the fact that this is the fourth Pokemon feature, it is still only presented on DVD in FULLSCREEN. There are many instances in the movie where a character is speaking, but you can't see him or her, since they are cropped off the screen. I'd hoped this unfortunate tradition was left behind with Warner Bros, but the curse follows the series to Miramax. Listen up, Miramax, we don't mind the black bars on the screen, we really don't. This problem is even worse when compared with the Warner releases, because the picture seems to be zoomed in a bit more and after repeated viewings, you actually begin to notice that the screen is constantly wobbling. A very poor transfer. Another complaint, though not as major, is the commentary featuring the producers and the cast. While it's fun to finally hear what the actors really sound like, they don't really react to anything on-screen; it's more like a Q&A session. While it does answer some interesting questions, it would have been better off to leave it as a separate feature and keep a regular commentary with just the producers. The commentary track also only runs under an hour, so it cuts off with about 20 minutes of the movie left to go. Hopefully they won't do this with movie 5, since the commentaries are my favorites part of the Pokemon movies. Otherwise, it's a solid film, and fans will be pleased that the movie sticks very close to the original Japanese script. It won't convert any Pokemon haters, but then again, nothing probably would. Just please, Miramax, when you release movie 5 on DVD, please do so in widescreen.
the greatest pokemon movie ever! By on 2002-08-03
I saw the trailer of this movie and read the story...I think that this movie is great. Its about a pokemon called celebi who can travel in time.It all starts when a rare pokemon hunter tries to capture celebi a boy tried to save him but celebi time travelled in time and took the boy with him.Celebi time travelled into the future and thats where the boy and celebi met ash, pikachu, brock and misty. They took celebi to the pokemon center and nurse whoever(not nurse joy)said that he has no power left. When they got out(without celebi)they found another hunter. He said give me the pokemon with you boy. When celebi heard them having a fight he went out and started helping them. But the hunter had a ball called a dark ball. When you capture a pokemon with the ball it turns them evil.He caught celebi with ball and celebi turned evil. They battled celebi but they couldnt win.Thats when suicune apeared and he helped them.
"The Pokemon excitment continues..." By on 2002-08-07
The next Pokemon movie stars two new Pokemon, Suicine and Celebi. A boy, 40 years earlier, saves Celebi and they both go to the present, where they meet Ash Ketchum and company. Meanwhile, a evil guy plans to turn Celebi to the dark side with the 'Dark Ball', a machine that turns good Pokemon to bad! Will Ash and his new friend Sammy save the forest, and Celebi?!
- A Great Movie!!!
     By A1IOC6IMM286T7 on 2002-10-20
I have already seen this movie twice at the theaters. I was amazed on how well the movie was made. Lets face it, usually after an original movie comes out, everything after it usually isnt all that great. Pokemon is definitly the exeption. The story line of coming 40years into the future (into ashes time) with a time traveling pokemon was difinitly different, but thats what makes it so good. At least everything is an original with pokemon. well it starts out in past with a young boy named sammy who ends up helping celebi get away from a pokemon hunter. well when sammy was running to get celebi as far away as he could, celebi used the last of his energy to time travel to ashes time. without getting to detailed, ash & friends come in contact with sammy & build a strong friendship, at the same time of restoring celebi's strengh, but then someone even worse than a pokemon hunter comes into play. he is the new member of team rocket. he catches celebi in a "dark ball" which turns pokemon evil. Now it is upto ash, sammy, suicune,& friends to help celebi & save the forrest, but can they do it... for the dramatic, heart stopping, yet inspirational ending, you need to go see it for yourself. I dont want to ruin it for you as it makes the movie worth seeing over & over again.
- I loved it!
     By A264KFOROJCBWK on 2002-10-05
I watched all 4 pokemon movies (5 was already released in Japan). This movie has big suprises in the end (when the ending song was playing). I loved the story and the pictures. I cannot wait to see the movie #5!!!
- This movie was great
     By on 2002-10-31
This movie was great. If you like Pokemon, you will love this movie. If you don't, you probaley should not see it. I personally thought this was an awesome movie. I think they should have promoted it more. I never saw a single commercial for it. That is probaley why I was the only person in the theater. It was awesome. The grahics were really cool and the story was also really good. If you want to see a really good Pokemon movie. This is the movie for you.
- One of the most wonderful movies of all time!
     By on 2003-01-15
This is a movie thats absolutely breathtaking, despite what critics say ...As a 17 year old Pokemon lover, I will say that I've never seen a better movie. I had the chance to see this movie while it was playing in Japan as well, and since then its been my favorite. The CG animations are amazing, the use of surround sound with character voices is wonderful, and of course, the storyline is extremely well written. I know a ton of people who have no interest in Pokemon, yet saw this movie and said it was amazing. Lets show Miramax that Pokemon movies shouldn't be on limited release in theaters and make this DVD a best seller, because it honestly deserves it ~.^ I'll be first in line when this DVD comes out

- How Dare They Copy Princess Mononoke!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
     By on 2003-09-14
Not that any of the Pokemon movies are particularity great, but this was just disgraceful. The whole plot was just a huge ripoff of the animated masterpiece Princess Mononoke. For example the voice of the forest, or Celebi could make vines grow magically when it felt threatened hmmmmmmmmmmmmmm I wonder were they possibly got that from, another example, when the voice of the forest mutated into what seemed like godzilla made of trees it started to destroy the forest and every thing in its path, that seen was almost directly taken from Princess Mononoke except pokemon 4 ever used [bad] digital effects. The rest of the plot basically repeats the other movies, Ash saves the world while Brock and Misty stand on the sidelines screaming "Dont do it Ash" god forbid they make Brock and Misty useful.Since I already started talking about the characters I might as well continue. As I said before Brock or Misty dont do anthing in this movie Ash and that stupid kid Sammy do everything, in fact the only time Brock and Misty played a part in the actual story was in pokemon 3, which turned out to be by far the best out of all the movies. As for the animation it ..., as for the digital effects they ..., most of them were 2nd or 3rd rate at best. All in all the music sucked the voice acting was pretty good and the story was a piece of..., as I said before How Dare the Ripoff Princess Mononoke.
- Another Great Pokemon Movie!
     By A2D3V6AJ8BXBNX on 2002-11-08
First, let me say that if you are a Pokemon fan, you will love this! If not, you won't like it. That said, I must say that I was very impressed with this movie. The animation itself was a lot crisper than the previous films. The story was written very well. It even gives a twist at the end about the relationship between Ash and Prof. Oak! The only minor complaint was that the 22 minute short film that accompanied the previous three films was absent from Pokemon 4ever. I looked forward to those as much as the main feature. I hope they add it to the DVD/VHS releases! Great film!

- A Masterpiece
     By APWH6ILFY2UG on 2002-12-15
Pokemon 4ever is without a doubt the most spectacular of all the Pokemon films. 4Kids did a very nice job with the dub, keeping the original Japanese music and everything. America even added about 3 minutes of animation this time, making one of the movie's big secrets more obvious. The emotional impact is incredible, especially at the end, but I'm not saying anything. Just bring some tissues. It has incredible animation, epecially with the CGI monster. I only wish Miramax would have treated this with more respect. It was released at a maximum of 249 theaters, and was promoted for under 1 million, which is incredibly cheap(for movie promotion). All in all a good film, which I reccomend to even those who don't like Pokemon.
- Awesome art with awesome characters; doesn't get any better
     By A3TP6T19NC3JAS on 2003-03-25
Personally, I love the art aspect of Pokemon in general, but this DVD was certainly the best. My favorite extra feature is the one where you get to see the progression of the animation; it's interesting and helps one understand how they managed to do it! I also enjoyed watching the advertisements for the upcoming movie. Not many extra features, but enough to keep me happy (besides, you buy the DVD for the actual movie anyway, right?)Although I guess that Pokemon is a "kids" thing, I saw quite a bit of symbolism in this (such as the lake, shaped as a figure eight [when turned sideways: infinity]). The theme is rather straight forward (which is a bit of a shame if you like figuring things out), but it's definitely a great movie for both the young and old. The ending is a bit of a surprise as well :) Of course, the characters are timeless. The mini movie (Pikachu's Pikaboo) is VERY cute, and even if a young child can't sit through the full length movie, I'm sure they'd enjoy watching Pikachu and his buddies being chased by a rogue lawnmower (who wouldn't?). Definitely worth buying, this is one you can watch over and over again. Personally, I thought that most of the previous movies didn't have very good balance between fun and seriousness, but this one is perfect :)
- A film of this quality lasts 4Ever.
     By A1XZD6OPGK7LWZ on 2003-05-13
(This is a review of the DVD edition of Pokémon 4Ever. It contains no spoilers other than those that could be found on the back of the DVD cover.)Pokémon 4Ever is a great and fun film of the quality we've come to expect from not only pokémon films, but anime in general. If you are a pokémon fan of any age, this is a must own film. Graphics (5/5): Overall, the graphics are of the same high quality we can expect of any Pokémon episode, or movie. They even do a mild increase of the graphics quality of the standard pokémon, by giving it a mild 3D feel in certain areas. Music (4/5): While the movie does not hold the awe inspiring music that the previous two held, the music is flawless, and does not detract from the movie in any way. While it could have been better, it is fine as it is. Story (5/5): The movie's story holds together well. A boy named Sammy protects Celebi, the legendary pokémon, from a pokémon hunter. Celebi, to protect them from this threat, travels forward in time, to the time of our heroes Ash, Pikachu, and the rest. Together, they must protect Celebi, and the rest of the forest, from their new threat--a hunter more powerful than the one left behind! The story is mildly simplistic, but as it is a children's story foremost, it cannot be faulted for that. All plot threads that are started are finished by the end of the movie, and you get a full sense of fulfillment. They did extraordinary in this area. Fun (5/5): The story is not only fun for children, but for more mature pokémon fans. There are several fun references for pokémon fans to catch, and they did an excellent job of making you feel for the characters--there are several truly touching moments, regardless of your age. Special Features (3/5): The disk holds an audio commentary, animation walkthrough, trivia game, trailers for this movie, a sneak peek at the next, and DVD-Rom features (Trading Card Game, Desktop items, and 'Hidden Content' at Pokemon.com.) The audio commentary is unarguably the best feature of the special features. Sadly, they didn't go the full way. While most movies with audio commentaries go till the end, this one goes about 40-50 minutes, before falling off completetly to the normal movie audio. With a little work, they could have made the audio commentary longer, and given it a more satisfying feeling. The animation progression, trailers, and trivia game are nothing to be too excited about. While the trivia game is fun, it loses its novelty after about 2 goes-through it. The sneak peek at the next movie, almost should have been excluded. It was in Japanese, and no work to translate it was given. It overall gave a mild feel of the graphics, but gave no idea whatsoever of what the next movie will be about. The DVD-ROM feature of the trading card game was unimpressive at best. It gives a feel of what it is about, but the game boy game can give a much better feel. The 'hidden content' is through their website, and links to it were able to be found on the internet from about the moment the DVD was unloosed on the public. Overall (4.75/5): The movie is a fine addition to the list of pokémon movies. It will not win over any new fans to the series, but will only strengthen the love of any old ones. I strongly suggest it as a buy to any pokémon fan, and at least a rent to any anime fan.
- awesome!
     By A2SAA88HCSS7RB on 2003-06-21
if you haven't watched it in theatres, this is the best chance for you to experience the awesomeness of the 4th installment of the movie series.like all pokemon movies, the graphics in this one is stunning, you can even compare it with the Miyazaki movies (which have amazingly detailed backgrounds), the well rendered 3D CGs blend perfectly with the detailed 2D drawings, unlike some other animations where 3D looks bizzare in a 2D environment... the storyline uses "time" as the central idea in this movie and with the creator's imagination, it creates twists and surprises for the audience... although I want to see more actions and more combats between the heroes and villains, since this is a movie for young views, I guess I can't complain too much... the only downside of this movie is the music... there are just not enough musics in this movie, even if there are enough, the musics are not memorable... the ending theme is horrible, talking about a music without melody... but I suppose musics don't affect the feeling the story gives you that much, so with awesome graphics and creative storyline, it balances out to be a very good movie... I give it a 5
- Move over Digmon
     By A1T4KKG4E5W5VE on 2004-07-26
This is a great movie full of adventure and excitement. Pokemon 4 ever takes place during the period of the time when Ash is in the Juto League. In pokemon forever ash must protect the beautiful pokemon celbi from the evil Iron Masked Marador of team rocket.
In this movie you get to she something you never got to she before Professor Oak as a little boy. If you are 7 or older than this movie is fine for you. If you are under 7 this movie may be to intense and violent for you to handle.
My favorite part in this movie is when Celebi makes the twig monsters and start destroying the forrest. Attribute to toho who created Godzilla. If you enjoy this you the other pokemon movies. I also recomend Digmon the Movie.
This movie also features a short chute little min movie called Pikchu's Pekaboo which should be fine for kids age 7 an up.
- Surprised me
     By A31ROG92MID2LL on 2003-01-07
The movie is great, Maramax really did a nice job. Good thing Warner Bro gave it up....they riped them apart and added that awful cheesy music. I have seen BOTH Japanese and American versions and yes it is well translated and my biggest surprise was the added parts in the American version. It seemed to make the movie close much better then the original. NICE!
- A Very well done production....
     By A2PI09IT7KTWVI on 2003-03-26
Having the chance to view this film in theatres, I was very impressed with how Miramax did a straight translation. Unlike the WB predessors, Miramax also left the original Japanese soundtrack in place, which made the viewing experience at least for me, MUCH more enjoyable.Very highly recommended.
- Well, it's stylish...
     By A10FHA5E7VEDTW on 2003-04-16
Yes, it's definitely the most stylish of the four so far released in the US. The entire movie takes place in a forest, so they decided to do some creative computer animation and special visuals. The forest-themed threat of walking tree branches in the form of Wargreymon called forth by a possessed Celebi was a neat touch. This movie, very much like the third one, was more about art direction and visuals than a good story. This is most apparent in the far-too-long scene in which Celebi takes Ash and his new friend Sammy flying with him. This scene does absolutely nothing other than show off the forest. It doesn't move the plot in any way, shape, or form. Also, Jesse, James, and Meowth are put way way in the back seat for this movie, since a new Team Rocket member has come to steal the show. Strong points? Excellent animation, the best of all the movies. Also, of all the Legendary Pokemon, Celebi is the most loveable. Even more loveable than Mew. Also, the Pikachu short is pretty entertaining. I'm sure a lot of people out there would love to see Pokemon get attacked by a raging lawnmower. Come on admit, you can't wait to see Pokemon get attacked by a raging lawnmower. Well, that's on this DVD. And, of course, the best part of any Pokemon DVD: the commentary. I remember listening to it on the first one and I really liked those two guys, Norman Grossfeld and Michael Haigney. This time, they brought in some guests, including a writer and the cast. WARNING: About the guy who does the voice of Meowth, MEOWTH'S VOICE IS HIS REAL VOICE. Don't get freaked when you hear it because I warned you. Sadly, the commentary ends way before the movie does. I've never seen that before, weird. Anyway, if you want to see Pokemon get attacked by a raging lawnmower, then get this DVD. If not, well the commentary is entertaining, even if it is short. Otherwise, it's not that great.
- Pokemon is the best!!!
     By on 2004-02-29
I am pokemon crazy!!! It feels so good to know that pokemon is still popular. In Pokemon 4ever, I loved the part where James and Meowth were hanging on to a piece of string from the bottom of Whites blimp. I also really loved the part where Meowth told James, "We,re no match for that big twig monster." "I know, poor Jessie." In his heart, I bet James was worried about Jessie. To him, that was a nightmare. In the anime series of pokemon, i get the feeling that Jessie and James hearts beat as one. In Pokemon Shipwreck in the part where they thought they were going to die, it looked James was about to admit he loved Jessie. But then Misty ruined their moment. Jessie,s beautiful blue eyes seemed to look right into James soul. In that episode, I bet poor James could feel his heart pounding.

- Pokemon 4ever will be 4ever great!
     By on 2003-03-26
This movie is great. My favorite. One part is sad ,but it has a happy ending. The movie is about Celebi a pokemon that can travel through time! When she does it she axidently brings along a boy named Sam to the future. Sam and Ash meet and become the best of friends. Then an evil hunter steals Celebi! Ash and Sam must put their lives at risk to save her. Will they get to her in time? Check out the movie to find out. Also if you are wondering who Sam really is(Only read this if you have seen the movie)he is Prof. Oak. I know it because Prof. Oak knows Sams name even though they didn't tell him, he owns Sam's sketch book, and his name is Samuel Oak. Well get up and buy the movie. You will love this.
- 5 yr old loves it!

My son carried a flier around for weeks asking for this DVD. The Easter Bunny brought it and we've watched it daily since!! Honestly, I don't know all the Pokemon's names but have learned more about Ash (the name my son now insists I use when addressing him), Misty and Brock and what exactly it's all about. I've been entertained by it and so has my son! If your child is a Pokemon fan, you can't go wrong with this!
- Don't expect too much
     By on 2003-06-09
We missed the limited theatrical release of the movie and so, being loyal Pokemon fans, it was with great anticipation that we watched the movie on DVD.The movie plot has been dealt quite extensively by the other reviewers, and so, I will only deal with the good and the bad of the movie. The good? Improved visuals in some parts of the movie due to the CGI employed. A twist in the plot which was interesting. And the thrill of getting to see Suicune and Celebi, plus many other pokemon previously encountered in the TV series or the video games. The bad? With the exception of the twist, the plot was pretty predictable. There was a lot of potential in the plot that could have been explored (especially with the time travel element) but unfortunately, the story turned out to be pretty simplistic. In fact, one part of the movie reminds me of Peter Pan! What is missing is the anticipation found in Pokemon: Mewtwo Returns, the heroism found in Pokemon The Movie 2000, or the aura of mystery in Pokemon The Movie 3: Spell of the Unown. And of course, the goofiness and antics of Team Rocket (comprising of Jesse, James and Meowth), since they were pretty much sidelined in this movie. Another thing that was lacking from this movie was the songs. Other than an uninspiring theme song, there was no other song in the entire movie, which is a great pity, cos the songs do play a part in enhancing the story (e.g. Brother My Brother by Blessed Union of Souls in Mewtwo Returns, The Chosen One by B-52 in Pokemon the Movie 2000). I find it interesting that for the last two movies, the legendary "canine" pokemon were featured i.e. Suicune and Entei. That, of course, leaves us guessing on the possibility of encountering Raikou in the 5th movie... In the final analysis, don't expect too much from the movie and you won't be too disappointed.
- Pokemon 4 ever
     By A1MZ2VKQMVEDRE on 2003-12-31
This is by far the best Pokemon film for it's animation, it's amazing to see your favorite Pokemon and trainers in what seems like the real world! There are only two or so songs on this CD so if they come out with a soundtrack it will be about as short as the "Pokemon World" CD. This is the only Pokemon movie (or episode) I've ever seen where a Pokemon died, you may want to get a box of tissues before the tears start flowing. The movie was a bout a young professor Oak trying to save Celebi, then being transported into the future by it's special time traveling power. And of course, Ash and friends meet him and they team up to stop a powerful member of Team Rocket from taking over the world. This bad guy captures Pokemon with Dark Balls and turns Pokemon, even the nicest ones like Celebi, into evil Pokemon that want to destroy everything in site. I would reccomend this movie to thos of us who adore Pokemon, and even to those people out there that don't, because it's an inspiring movie with plenty of emotion and action to satisfy anyone.

Just another Pokemon movie...i guess...If thats what you're thinking, you're wrong. Its a great movie for |children & POKEMON ADDICTS or Pokemaniacs & REAL anime lovers| only. Lets talk about literature you learned in grade school, OK? First of all, the title is of course, Pokemon 4Ever, the 4 cleverly replacing the 'for' in the title and also representing the 4th movie made about Pokemon (notice: i didnt say 'by' because obviously Pokemon didnt make the movie). This movie is just about Celebi, a legendary Pokemon, who travels forward in time about 40 years. Sammy, a person who you know really well in the first episode (no im not giving who the person is away, you'll have to get it and see), travels along with Celebi and meets Ash. They do the usual "Hi! How are you?" and blah, blah, blah. SKIP BORING PART OF MOVIE ---> The climax and denouement are grouped together after 1 hour or so when Ash tries to feed Celebi. Since I come from an Asian background, the author and original artist of the drawing probably infered that Celebi had died when the berries dropped into the water. In Asia, esp Chinese and Japenese backgounded people say that when beads fall, you are dead. So, basically the berries symbolizes death. And ya, it isnt dead for long because it is revived by other Celebi, and Ash and Sammy depart. Ash is sad and thats the end of the story. There was plenty of irony in the story, especially with Professor Oak. If you dont want me to ruin the story for you stop! Else Read on. Professor Oak is Sammy. And I know...WOW! what a transformation. But then the scientific aspect comes into view. What about that thing that said that you can't be in two places at once? Huh? There are lots of holes in the story if you're scientifically smart. But who gives...this is a definently good movie despite the holes. Although the denuement could be better, its an overall good movie to watch at MAX 3-4 times. It grows boring after the first time...trust me.
