Great Puzzle, Solidly Made, But... By APPA8WOBRN4YP on 2006-12-18
I love the Melissa and Doug stuff -- well made, colorful toys are always welcome in my house.
This puzzle is perfect for wee ones who can manipulate floor puzzles and like castles and princesses and the like.
However -- be aware that this is actually a 24-piece puzzle, not a 48-piece puzzle. We have two of these, purchased hundreds of miles apart, and both have 24 pieces, instead of the 48 listed on both boxes.
My little girls says "the best castle puzzle in the world" By A3H0ZQ74ITU83J on 2005-04-07
I put this togehter with my 6 and 3 year old girls. We had fun putting it together and telling stories using the puzzle as a background. We love it.
Stimulating imagination By ADISCTGXADDPV on 2004-10-16
I like the idea of it being large and being placed on the floor. A child spends most of his/her time on the floor and a puzzle that appeals to her can stimulate her imagination with each piece.
Thanks
fun to do together as a family By A1W4YAOAF1JNMV on 2005-01-18
I'm always looking for activities that we can do together. My daughter loves castles and princesses, so she's interested from the start. We talk about how to look for clues as to how the pieces go together. It has big pieces that are easy for small hands to handle. I'm only giving 4 stars because it's not usually her pick. It's our pick, and then she joins in the fun.
Very good but not great By AZ1IFQKVO42JL on 2005-11-18
Puchased for my grandoughter who is 5 years old. She liked very much playing the puzzle. Only thing we didnot like the quality of side parts gone bad very quickly.
- great gift!

my 3yo dd got this from Santa for Christmas, and she LOVES it! I hear "let's do puzzles, Mama!" at least 3x/day -- the floor puzzles were definitely a hit w/our kids!
- For your "princess on the brain" girl
     By A9EVBE6MJ4YX4 on 2007-04-26
My 4yr old isn't crazy about doing puzzels, but I've tried to encourage her becasue of the good thinking process & eye/hand coordination it requires. Anyway, found this large, pretty sturdy cardboard puzzel & she does it often. So, I think it was the subject matter - everything is Princess nowadays with her, so she was more inclinded to do a puzzle of this castle.
Only bad thing I can say is that OY, it's a bear to get back in the box if all the pieces aren't just so! Otherwise a great purchase.
- High Quality Puzzle

Their puzzles are awesome...the pieces go together well and they have a good finish on them and are very durable. My 3 and 5-year olds haven't been able to destroy them under constant use!
I do wish Melissa & Doug had a better policy for lost pieces though. It seems wasteful that you have to toss a puzzle after losing just one piece. I was told that pieces don't always fit 100% which is why they don't supply them, but kids wouldn't care - - they are so bummed they lost a piece to one of their puzzles!
- Wonderful Puzzle

Purchased this for my grandchildren and they love putting it together. Even the 3yr old boy loves it too. Great puzzle to get.

I got this puzzle as a gift to a friend of mine's daughter and she loved it.. as well as the other children. And the parents asked where i got it becuase their children didn't want to stop putting it together.. it's a fun game to play as a family or with your child..
- Perfect for the little Princess

Once again, I bought this for a gift, but my Sister-in-law has only good to say about it. She says that it is very durable, and easy to clean if spots appear (kids will do that ya know!) The kids really like being able to get something out to play with on the floor.

Great gift for a 4 year old who loves to do puzzles and thinks about princesses all the time. When finished, the puzzle can also be the backdrop for imaginative stories with dolls and animals of all sorts.
- Great puzzle

We've had this puzzle for 1 year and put it together on a regular basis. It has proven very sturdy and durable. My 4 year old daughter loves princesses and castles so this engages her interest and it's big enough to spread across the floor and not lose the pieces. Another great value from Melissa and Doug.
- Great Toy

My daughter and I are having a great time putting together this puzzle. It enhances problem-solving skills and pretend play. We discuss what she sees and have question and answer fun with it too. The pieces are large and sturdy for little hands. We love this puzzle.
