The item is fine. It was the wrong DC adaptor for the Garmin unit purchased. It was listed along the Garmin unit as the correct one for the unit. It was for another Garmin line of products. I'm sure it worked well on the correct product.

I don't know why amazon has this listed for the Rino 5xx series radios - they require more power and use a lithium ion recharable pack to get it. This adapter is for the 1xx series radios designed around disposable batteries. YOU NEED A DIFFERENT ADAPTER FOR THE 5XX SERIES - THIS IS A WASTE OF MONEY FOR THOSE RADIOS. Amazon should know better.

Not so many words to talk about this item, but let me tell you that now I always use my rino turned on, in my car. baterie drain its no more cash pain!
**Good things:
-comes with a led(small light) that turns on with diferent colors(red green yellow) so you could know if your rino its turned on or of or disconected.
-large cable(for a car, you could use youre rino in the back seat even conected in the front of the car)
**bad things
just a bad ending quality, it looks like a adapter of 2.99bucks, but I had owned it for more than a year and cero problems.

have had this charger for Rino 130 about 2 mos. Mud, snow, ice and it performs well. No power losses & no shorts. Must have item considering short batt life on GPS's....
