  • Clever, Fun, and Funny

    By A1CHM200OEN65X on 2003-10-10
My kids love the Cadoo game, but we are in desperate need of a booster set since they know all the answers. Instead, we bought this new Cranium offering and took it into a restaurant to try it out while eating dessert.

Oops! When I found myself out of my seat and enacting a bull-ride--to the amusement of the restaurant's other diners--I knew we should've test driven it at home. Oh, well.

All embarrassment and loud laughter aside, my 9 and 11 yr old daughters have been begging to play it every day. The game employs a random timer and various methods of giving clues to keep things interesting. We've learned funny things about each other and had a blast while doing it!

  • Three cheers!

Adding to the acclaim here--the Cranium games are all fun, but this is just the best. It's especially good for multiage groups and family gatherings--one of the few games where being older and sharper doesn't confer much advantage. Even kids who don't really read and write yet can play with adult help and have fun.

Another plus: We ran into a bit of a problem with a defective part and Cranium's customer service was absolutely first-rate in resolving it. Anyone who buys anything these days knows how rare that is!

  • Literally, fun for ALL ages!

My 17 year old brother, my 8 and 10 year old (female) cousins, and my 21 year old self played this game after Thanksgiving dinner and within minutes had jealous adults watching our fun (we let them join in the next round). Though our 4 and 2 year old cousins were too young to really play (reading and writing required), they were content to watch and laugh with us. We all laughed so hard and had the best time. This is definitely the stuff the best family memories are made of.

  • Kids seem to love it

This was my first experience with Cranium games so I don't know how this one compares to the others. My boys, ages 10 and 8 seem to really enjoy the game and it can be fun, but it is not as much fun as I thought it would be after reading the reviews. You draw cards and whatever card you draw determines what activity you do. One activity is to use clay to sculpt your answer to the question. Well, we never have enough time to actually sculpt something. Usually, we just shout out answers without even seeing what the person is sculpting. One activity has you guesstimate your answer to a question, such as "How many times have you flushed the toilet in your lifetime?" A lot of those questions aren't easy for my 8 year old to actually come up with an answer that we could possibly get. And the point is to give an answer that can be guessed because you get points for guessing correctly and for having your answer guessed. So, a lot of the game just seems like shouting out answers and not doing much of the activities. However, my sons seem to enjoy it but I think a lot of it is because their dad and I are playing it with them. Also, you have to remember to push the guess button every time, which so far, my 8 year old forgets to do, so you can get the maximum number of points. Maybe after we play it some more, we will get a better handle on how it is to work and we will get more enjoyment out of it. I wouldn't suggest buying this game unless your kids were a little older than mine. Hope this helps somebody!!

  • This is not Cranium!

    By A3FHIYRA4LX3DQ on 2004-09-24
For those of you who have previously purchased the original Cranium (or Cranium Primo addition, as I have), this is a completely different game.

First of all, this game is for individual players, not couples. It incorporates more of the guessing aspect of the original Cranium. This game uses opinions rather than facts. The worst part of it was the electronic device included. It seems simple, but ended up confusing many of the players I played with (no, we were not under the influence). In addition, this game incorporates the use of small, cardboard "conga points", which could easily be lost by adults as well as children. On a positive note, I feel it is suitable for all ages.

I expected something more similar yet different from the original Cranium game and was therefore not impressed.

  • Conga is Bouncy Fun!!!
    By A1KO22HZI2BOMI on 2004-01-08
From the fun music to the guess box this game ROCKS!!!! There is never a dull moment. Although the game is rated for kids 8 and up, younger kids even some 5 year olds, would enjoy it with just a little help with reading. Passing around the guess box with the music going is great fun- kind of like playing hot potato. Like some of the other great games by CRANIUM the clay adds a fun dimension and encourages creativity. This game would be good for HOURS of fun for the whole family!! Take it from a mother of 4. This game is great and a different change of pace from the others out there.

  • Fun for everyone!
    By ACOZBRJ5RGDWE on 2004-01-10
We received this game from a friend at Christmas time. The kids had two weeks off - what to do?!! What a blast and funny too! Everyone gets involved even when it's not your turn. Winning doesn't seem to be as important as it is getting the other players to guess your answer. Our youngest one who can't read really well just yet enjoyed the lively game as much as our oldest two. And we, as the parents, thought our friends would like it too!

  • Awesome Game!
    By ABIT85ZLF7H4I on 2004-11-26
This game was awesome. The point is to actually try to read your friend's mind!!! It's really fun, and you can answer by acting out, working with clay, or just writing down the answer--whatever it tells you to do!! It does require batteries, but that doesn't matter. The only thing is, the manufacturers didn'y close the clay container tight enough, so the clay was dried up!! I need to complain about that and get new clay...It looks like fun trying to guess what other people sculpted!!! This game is so much fun, I recommend it 100%, and it's great for small groups of 4-8 people ages 9 and up. Cranium Conga rocks!!!!! Oh yea, and and you win when your conga board is filled up with pieces that form a Conga Line. Got a friend's or kid's birthday coming up? Is the kid at least 9 or 10? Get Cranium Conga...It's the BEST.

Since we have 3 kids, 2 of playing age.. I decided to get it. We played last night, The rules are simple and easy for the kids to understand. The kids were great & enjoyed playing as much as we did. It got my husband involved(& he actually enjoyed it)LOL... & it meant a lot to the kids, that they can spend time & have FUN with their parents! :o) I'd say it's an A+ game for family fun!

Ths game is one of the funnest family games I've played. It's better with more players. you basicly should have to know how to write to play this game by yourself, but you could also play on teams, I guess.
This game is very simple to understand and the directions are very good.
I would definatly recomend this game!!!

    By A27BK7G328B4DS on 2003-12-28
Our entire family, including the 9 and 16 year olds, have a blast playing this game. We learn things about each other, laugh, and race the clock. It's so rare to find a game for the kids that the parents actually have fun playing as well! We're going to invite some family friends over for dinner & game night soon...

  • awesome game

Very fun, easy, quick, family game. Good for ages 8 and up due to reading. Highly recommended for families

  • Disappointed
    By A3IV0J9OXYMGQS on 2005-01-02
We are a BIG TIME game family. We have several of the Cranium games and have thoroughly enjoyed them. After reading the reviews of this game I had hopes that it would be as much fun as some of the others we have played. We gave this game to my 8 year old son for Christmas and it was very disappointing. There is no challenge to the game whatsoever. You choose a card which has a question on it and write your answer on the pad. When you close the lid, the timer starts. The problem is that we have been able to guess the answer within seconds of the timer starting and it's usually the first person who guesses it. We looked to the directions to see if there is some way to make it more challenging but there weren't any suggestions given. We thought we would try to make up our own rules such as NOT giving the first letter on the "word worm" questions, but that made it impossible to guess the answer before the timer ran out.

My son thinks it's "kind of" fun and he still asks to play with it because it is new. The other problem is that each card only has one challenge to it. So once you go through all the cards you are pretty much done with the game. I'm certain there will be a "Booster" pack that will need to be purchased separately if this game ends up being popular.

My overall recommendation, skip this game. There are too many other great games to waste your money on this one.

  • The Best Game Ever !
    By on 2005-01-20
This Game Is The Best!! I bought this game because it looked so fun!! Even Though I'm Eleven and have no siblings at home I can still play it by my self. Evenmy parents like this game so I don't have to play by myself all the time. I reccomend this game for everyone!

  • This game is a-lot of fun!
    By A3NMTYQQLI8J1V on 2005-12-04
I got this for Christmas a few years ago and it is one of the most fun games around! It is great to play at a party and all ages can play! If you dont have a-lot of people to play with, it is less fun. It is like the regular Cranium except you have to write your answers in a electronic pad thing. This is a-lot easier to play and like all the cranium games, I have never had a problem with it. This is a great game to buy!

  • Good Fun

Great game, even for older kids. Ice breaker at parties. Should use at least 4or 5 players. Great fun.

  • FUN FUN FUN!
    By A35GF5E2BTM6D8 on 2006-05-28
I bought this game for my 9 year old daughter as part as a promotional deal (I got this game for free)! Since it was only 3 of us, we thought it would be more fun with more people, so we invited over my parents. We played for the first time last night and we had a blast. At first the directions seemed a little too much, but once we started playing, everyone caught on real quick!! Some of the questions were hard to think up of answers, some were easy, but it was all very fun!! We all cannot wait to play again!! This is a great game, not only for the kids, but even for adults only!!

  • Conga Craze!
    By on 2005-11-27
This game is great fun for family and friends. It gives kids a chance to expand their minds but it's more fun than educational.

  • It's great, but cheatable
    By on 2005-05-22
I played this game before, and it was FUN! The only problem is, when you get a "Creative Cat Card", you have to write your answer on the pad. Then you have to get someone to close it to start working right away, they're most likely to be another player and cheat.

  • Excellent game for kids and tweens
    By A1919A8ORRNBS8 on 2005-06-17
Kids ages 10- 13 have played this game with the adults. We all enjoy it. Only problem is the magnetic pencil lost it's magnet the first day. We play despite the problem.

  • Extremley Enjoyable
    By APR2SMZPMYFOK on 2007-05-08
This was bought as a gift for my sisters family. They love the game, because not only does it get their son (11) away from the video games and tv, but you can play a round in a reasonable amount of time. This game is pull out after family get togethers as a means of enjoying family time together. And you learn alot about each other.
