  To those who have trouble getting the pads on the mop, try getting them wet first. It's a piece of cake!
  
  

• Air dry the pads

  The pads shrink something awful if you throw them in the dryer. If you wash them by hand and air dry them they work pretty well and dont't shrink as badly. Since they have a drawstring, Bissell should make them a little larger to compensate for shrinkage. 3 stars for the pads, 5 stars for the NONTOXIC mop = 4 stars overall.

  These replacement pads were paired with the Bissell 1867-7 Steam Mop as a 'better together' deal. These covers are not the same as the ones that came with the mop. The ones that came with the mop have elastic around them, plus the draw string, which makes them easier to work with. The replacement covers seem smaller and do not have elastic so they are awkward to work with. Once you get them on, they work great but I'd be happier if the replacement covers would have been the same as the ones that came with the mop.

  The mop is a great product, but once you dry the pads they shrink beyond the point of wanting to ever use the mop again. I avoid mopping the floor at all costs because it is such a hassle to get them on now. I am either going to have to buy new ones or use something else to clean the floors.

  I PURCHASED THE STEAM MOP AND THESE PADS FOR A FRIEND AND SHE SAYS THEY'RE GREAT. SHE WANTS ME TO ASK IF ANYONE HAS FOUND A WAY TO USE RAGS OR OLD TOWELS OR SOMETHING OTHER THAN THE REPLACEMENT PADS. WE'LL CHECK BACK HERE LATER. THANKS!

  I LOVE the steam mop, but the replacement pads shrink in the dryer, making it next to impossible, and downright frustrating to get them to fit back on the steam mop properly. Bissell needs to redesign these to have elastic or something on them so that they go over the mop and attach easily. It takes longer to fight with the pads to get them back on the mop than it does to clean my entire kichen floor!

• Not as good as the original

  I've been using the original green pads and the steam mop works great. I just bought these replacement pads so I can do the whole house in one day, if I wanted and they just aren't as good as the original ones that come with the Steam Mop. They don't fit as well (even wet), they tend to push dirt around instead of cleaning it, and I have to pass over a spot many more times than with the original pads. I still have the original pads and they work awesome. These replacement pads are still way better than getting on the floor and scrubbing by hand, so I gave them 3 stars, but Bissell should offer the great product they originally include.

  this steam mop was the best idea bissell came up with. I have three small kids and the steam mop cleans up all the mess in no time at all. It's so easy to use even the kids like to mop the floors. The only complaint I have is that the pads are hard to get on. I have broke a few nails doing this, it would be nice if they came up with an easier way to do this.

• Tightening loop is too short.

  I do like their steam mop, however, like several other reviewers, I find the pads difficult to tighten on the mop. I have to insert a screw driver through the loop and hold the button in while I twist the screw driver. I would think it would be a simple improvement for Bissell to make.

  The steam mop is absolutely wonderful and good for your health because it cleans with steam. The mop pads are good until you wash them, Letting them air dry is the only way to get them back on, but the fit isn't good because you can pull the drawstring without using your teeth or a screwdriver to tighten it. This product would have worked better with a longer cord.

• Worn out pads but still in love!

  I received the Bissell Steam Mop as a housewarming gift from a friend when we built our house 5 years ago. After years of cleaning floors with chemicals and a mop, I was skeptical about how clean my floors would be with just this simple looking mop and water, especially the grout. To my amazement, this mop does a great job! I have used it exclusively on my floors for 5 years and would never go back to the chemicals and bucket. The only negative is that because I have rough textured tile in my kitchen and 3 bathrooms, the pads wear out quickly! I only get 2 uses and 1 washing out of each pad before I replace it. The pads wear right through near the mop's steam holes. At first I thought I'd go broke buying pads, but when I factor in the savings on chemicals and mops, it makes it easier to accept. I also factor in the cleanliness of my floors, (they still look new), the EASE of cleaning the floors, that the floors dry almost instantly, that I have no chemical fumes, and I don't have a bucket of dirty water being spread back around with the mop, it makes replacing the pads frequently a no-brainer. So today I am delighted to find replacement Bissell Steam Mop Pads for my mop on Amazon and am ordering another 8 to get me through the summer with the kids home and lemonade spilling and popsicles melting on my clean floors!

  I think these pads are actually a real pain to put on. I like the mop in theory, but I find myself avoiding cleaning the floor because getting the pad on the thing is such a frustration.
  
  
• Chemical free cleaning

  I love my steam mop. I have pets and people on my floor so I really don't like the idea of harsh chemicals remaining in my household's environment. Additionally, I do not like the idea of more chemicals being poured into the local river. However, because I have pets, I need to kill germs in my house. With the steam mop, I know my floors are truly clean without. The pads are easy to change and easy to wash.

  you know how when you wash something cotton and air dry it, after that you can put it in the dryer? this theory does not apply to the mop pads. no. not at all.
  
  you may have luck dampening the ubershrunken ones to get them on, but don't be like me and think, "oh, it's just that the drawstring shrunk. i'll cut it off!" because that, friends, is a bad idea.
  
  this mop is basically the greatest invention since the gutenberg press, especially when paired with the dirt devil sweeper vac or some other stick vac+swiffer combo. hi, i am lazy and have a bunch of animals and these are a total dream. when i pick all the laundry up off the floor, i can actually get it clean in no time.
  
  anyway, just bear in mind that AT NO TIME should these mop pads go in the dryer, however desperately you may want them dry.

  I have arthritis in my hands and the drawstring on the Mop Pads is too small for me to grab. I use the pads made for buffing machines. They have elastic and I can put them in the dryer.

  I have small children and I like being able to use the sanitizing steam on the floors which is nontoxic. The pads are cotton and should not be dried in the drier because, as other people have mentioned in their reviews, they will shrink. I think the cinch strings should be a little longer and the pads made slightly bigger to accomadate for easier application on the mop. Otherwise, I love the mop and the ease of use and it really cleans well.

  I purchased these to use with my Steamfast mop. They are machine washable and fit fine even after being thrown in the dryer. Perhaps the Steamfast head is slightly smaller than the Bissell...I don't know about that but they fit well on it. They are sturdy and well made.

  The degign is difficult. They won't stay on the steam mop because they don't come up high enough around the mop head. The barrel slide fastener does not tighten enough to hold them on. If it wasn't for the fact the Bissell 3250 works so good itself and I am happy with that, I would not fight so hard to keep the pad on the head.

  We purchased this steam mop and also purchased a Shark Steam Mop for a gift. Unfortunately we kept the Bissell. The Bissell leaves a lot of water on the floor and has to be cleaned up after use. On the other side, the Shark leaves the floor almost dry and does not have to be mopped up to remove excess water. We are not happy with the Bissell.

  Love having lots of extra mop pads. That way I can keep cleaning and know my floors get as spotless as I can get them! You can never have too many...I also try to wash them seperately so they stay chemical free from the rest of the rags in the house.
