Not reliable. By AEE2GJR0VF6R7 on 2005-01-23
I bought this to use with my Skype (free internet phone service). I had high expectations and was happy with the low price. This product turned out to be horrible. After a couple months, three problems:
1. Only the right ear of the headset is working now,
2. The little volumn control thing is bad, it does not change volumn smoothly and you have to carefully turn it to some specific place for it to make the right noise.
3. Connection to the computer not good. I have to press down on the connector with my fingers to hear anything.
DO NOT BUY THIS
I am editing this review, because this pair of earphones just completely went broke on me. I am angry!!!!!!!!!!!!
Nice, but you need to know some things, first By A13IEAQ1T6PT98 on 2005-01-25
Right. First off, i bought this thing, figuring it would work with my G5 iMac.
I was wrong. Or logitech was shamefully lacking in their info for Mac users.
It SAYS it can work with a Mac, but all I got was the headphones to work.
I had to run out, and pick up this Egg looking thing, called iVoice2. It plugs
into your USB slot, and allows you to use ANY PC mic/headset with your
mac. It is $35-$50 (depending on where you buy it).
But, on plus side, after you buy the iVoice2 from Macally, you can use ANY
PC headset with mic you want. :)
Now, on with the headset. This headset is a bit uncomfortable. I like the
behind the ears headsets, but this one is made for big heads, or Large hair.
It has the advantage of not being able to fall off, but it feels loose.
The mic is great. It doesn't reach your mouth. It stops about 2/3rds of the way,
but it does pick up some nice clear sound. I use it for recording voices for
animation and small games I make.
You DO need to turn up the GAIN in your computer, but after that, it's GOLD.
The sound is clear, rich, and not Hissy. i prefer the mic to be closer to the mouth,
because you have to speak up, to get nice levels. If you whisper, you will get
recorded, but you will have to amplify it later in post, and my get some hiss.
All and all, a good product. At the price, you can't do much better.
The long cord is also a plus, when you have people reading from a script, and
don't want them hunched over a table to speak into a desk mic.
Another cool feature, is that the shields on the sides come off, and it comes with
4 colors to place there (black, red, blue, orange), So you know which is yours.
A better mic is the Plantronics DSP-100. It's USB, and has only one head phone,
but it sound beautiful. It also costs $45.
Don't get these By A2T3ML070WV864 on 2004-05-06
Comfort: Not sure if it's this brand, or all behind the neck headphones/headsets, but the are horribly uncomfortable for me. The plastic part that fits over your ear (between the top of your ear and your head) ends up hurting after about 10 mins of wearing these. My brother has a pair of altec lansing AHS-302 that are the same style, and he likes them. We are the same shape and build (6'2"), so I'm not sure if it's the brand or the style.Sound: The sound from these are lack luster. I mainly used them for playing online games and using teamspeak. I could hear other people's voices just fine, but the sounds on the game (BF1942) where nothing to write home about. I suppose for the price, I can't expect too much. Microphone: This microphone on this or horrible. It comes to the corner of your mouth (as designed) which I like. Problem is, you have to turn the sensitivity up to high to pick up your voice. Using teamspeak, the sound quality of the microphone was the worse of all friends logged in. I know that internet chat sound quality is not a great test, but everyone commented on how "tinny" the sound was from mine, as compared to everyone else (no one else was using these headsets). Conclusion: I would not recommend these even if you like the behind the neck headphones. The sound is rather lack luster and the microphone is one of the worse ones on the market. I took my back to the store and bought a set of over the ear (ear-cup) headsets from Altec Lansing (AHS-502). The AHS-502's where $25. They are far superior to the logitech, although the microphone one both are not as good as the Sennheiser PC-130's. I enjoy the performance of the AHS-502 sound much better than either of the other headsets though.
Reliable - value for money By A1USQPW4DDMNJ9 on 2006-03-21
I'd rate this as a reliable and easy to use product. It's the second time I've bought it. I gave my first piece to my mom, since she wanted to be able to use it to chat with me on Skype.
It's cheap - approx. US$13. It looks pretty cool, and the flexible mic piece is well designed, so you can move it out of the way when you want to use just the headphones.
The only disadvantage is that the ear-piece starts to hurt your earlobes if you use it for 2+ hrs.
I'd recommend it if you're looking for a cheap and reliable internet chat set.
Great Headset for gaming and chatting By A2TWUP33Q9GB7K on 2003-05-15
Fits good on your head and sounds great. There is also the volume control on the wire. Fits comfortably around your ears and the cool red ear things look great. The only drawback I have is that I wish the microphone was on the other side.
- Best headset for your computer
     By AK2K1EBK2M6IV on 2004-08-30
Given the price, the sound quality is very good. It's so clear & rich. You can use it only for internet chat or gaming, but also music listening.
Speaking of comfort, I have worn them for 2 hours and my ears still don't have any sign of fatigue.
I think they are worth the money.
- Started off good, but not for long.
     By A3S0BGZQC17AN3 on 2005-12-27
Being this was a Logitech, (and I have always liked the name), I decided to try it out. For a month or so, I thought they were great but now the right ear peice is dead. So I am in the market now for a new headset, but if you were deciding on these, I would try to steer clear and look for something else.
- Clarity is the best in town
     By A1B554PCNXQX86 on 2006-02-08
I own webcam with microphone, speakers and optical mouse... all from Logitech and have no complaints with this one either. Worth an investment as the VOIP is in. Chord length is a bit too long... I guess you could now stand or walk around your room still connected and talking !!! Its crystal clear quality whether be it using SKYPE or Yahoo or GoogleTalk.
- Most uncomfortable headphone
     By A28EQ5JQDXCT3G on 2006-04-22
This is the most uncomfortable headphone I ever had. you will get pain over the ear.but still the microphone works good and headphone is ok...
- Exellent
     By A3FIK0SMAURJQT on 2005-08-25
Exellent quality! I got this to use with Skype and it worked great. I'm now using it with Google Talk.
- Amazing headphones, horrendous microphone
     By A1XCYYAH3U6WR1 on 2005-10-06
I've gotten a lot of use out of this headset first of all. After, literarily, at least a 100 hours of useing these for Ventrillo mainly, I have to warn people.
The headphones themselves are great. The sound quality is great, and easily adjustable to any situation because of the volume slider.
Personaly I never found them uncomforetable like other reviews stated. No matter how they fit, you can simply tilt them downwards or forwards depending on the fit.
Also as someone who wears glasses, they don't get in the way. It's a behind the ears headset, the clips that rest on your ears are just that, your glasses can, and will, easily go right over the half an inch clip of plastic.
BUT, the bad part about the headset is probably the main reason for purchasing it.
Everything involving the microphone is horrendous.
If you want to use it for voice chat in games, such as ventrilo, team speak, roger wilco, etc., you will hear NOTHING but "Huh? Did somebody just say something?!? I thought I heard a noise..." or more often "Put your outbound vollume to the absolute max," "Put the microphone closer," and of course "Speak louder!"
It really is that bad, you will have to put the microphone literarily INSIDE of your mouth for anyone to hear you.
No matter what you do, it's near impossible for anyone to hear you. Also recording anything is impossible of course.
It's a great product as far as headphones, and I still use it for just that, but if you want to use it for anything involving the microphone, don't. They're are much better products out there.
- Great when working
     By A2RN0IZZGHT0BR on 2005-11-11
I've gone threw 3 of these cheap Walmart knock offs. When they work they work fine you just have to be smart enough to calibrate a microphone. But the first time you roll over the 20 foot cord, there done. If you can't afford anything else go for it but your better of buying a higher qaulity mic because they break like the cheap headsets that they are.
- I never write reviews... but this is junk
     By A24GG6C398ENP3 on 2006-07-11
Out of the (fully sealed, brand new) box, the plastic volume control is cracked and the microphone only picks up a VERY loud voice. (With sound card set to full gain.)
Even if the mic did work, I would probably trash this because the sharp edge on the plastic over the ear is very uncomfortable.
But hey, it comes in cool colors, so who cares if it is usable, right?
- Works great for those of you who like behind the head
     By A13AT8V4WGJONP on 2006-09-15
I have owned these headphones for a good 2 years.
PROS:
-The microphone sounds great, no problems.
-The headphones are mediocre, but for the price, can't expect audiophile sound. Does the job just fine in fps games or anything else.
-Love the volume adjustment which allows you to adjust everything without clicking on the bottom right volume controls, etc.
-Works great with front panel audio AND rear audio inputs as the cable is pretty long.
-If it matters to you, you can change the color of the plastic that is on the piece.
CONS:
-If you don't like behind the head headphones, you will not like these. I am indifferent, however sometimes when I feel like sitting back and using a headrest, I experience an extreme annoyance. I though behind the head would be comfortable, plus it wouldn't mess up my hair (like i care), but now I would rather get regular headphones, if it weren't for the price. Comfort may be a factor if you're deciding whether to buy these or not.
For the price, this is a good, durable headset, especially for the price. If money is not quite an issue, keep looking however.

- Mic Problem
     By ALWL0AJ94O8RJ on 2006-10-05
I have purchased 2 of these headsets. One for me and one for my girlfriend. They both had mic problems. I have not found a replacement but beware there are issues with this headset.
- Alright device for the casual user.
     By A3898ZBVCINA6K on 2005-10-07
I purchased these to use on my Mac G4 and on my gaming PC. What a great time to learn that Macs don't come with a microphone pick-up installed on the sound board. No biggie. There are plenty of devices that will enable analog mics to work on Macs.
The headset was exactly what I was expecting for the price. Not too terrible, but not that great either. The microphone is bottom dollar. Even though it has nice pick-up, the receipient of your voice chat will notice the low grade of audio. The headphones themselves are also mundane. The sound is hollow with little to no highs or lows. Definately not a solution for music or emmersive gaming.
What I will say about this little device is they are extremely comfortable and light weight. The band wraps around the back of your head and the "phones" rest right on your ears. The mic is very adjustable. The over all design is stylish.
This head set is more than adequate for the casual voice chatter. Works fine with all the major voice messenger programs. However, if your wanting to use them for long periods at a time and quite frequently, you will be sorely disappointed.
- very good mic/headset
     By A1G0NW051IKXRX on 2005-12-10
It has a very nice built quality.
The different color plates are not much of an use!
Primarily use it for voice chat and listen to music in my laptop.
For the price u pay and the good quality, it is a good value for money
Highly recomended !
- Great Product!
     By A31T2LXZ718J68 on 2006-01-23
I like using this headset/microphone to converse online with overseas friends or local ones as well.
I highly recommend this product!
- Microphone stinks on this one.....
     By A1ZAUZLTIHFLZ4 on 2006-08-02
I bought this to use with Skype. I work out of my home making phone calls, so it's important that I can be heard, and that the quality is good. The first day I used the headset, it worked fine. Today is the second day, and I could barely get the mike to pick up my voice. I could get it to a level where someone would have to strain to hear me, but only by actually touching the mike to my lips, and then you get the pops and crackles on your p's and s's. I'm very disappointed, as I'm usually a Logitech fan.
- For Skype and Internet Chats, I'm Satisfied
     By A3FVAWZNKW9GX on 2007-07-05
My Logitech Internet Chat Headset does the job. I use it to occasionally chat with friends internet to internet on AOL and Yahoo, or through Skype. The headset has successfully connected me to Hungary and Indonesia, as well as places around the USA.
I have dial-up, but have used it on a T-1 and wireless lines without trouble. The sound was great, limited only by my connection. The headset feels comfortable for short calls; I never talk longer than an hour. The mike is to the side, and picks up my voice perfectly.
What did I need? A cheap microphone and headphone set. That's what I received. More money would get me a better quality device with more features, but this will suffice.
Do better devices exist? Probably, as the technology behind these is basic. The point is, this one is fine. If you need CD quality audio, shop elsewhere. If you just want to call on a few friends now and again, this is enough.
I fully recommend the Logitech Internet Chat Headset.

- Decent Headset, Slightly low-pickup mic
     By A2JGO0B3ICYMEB on 2005-08-24
This is a decent headset. Sound quality is superb. Only quabble with it is that the microphone requires both using the microphone boost, and ventrilo amplification for people to be able to hear my voice decently. Otherwise, a good buy.
- Great headset
     By AASORXVMBNCUD on 2005-10-13
Once I plugged it in, it worked great...I've had it for 3 months now and I haven't had one problem. CompUSA sells this same item for $39.99 so if you're looking for a cool and great headset get it cheaper at Amazon.
- Works Great, but uncomfortable
     By A36YHAZM54QKUG on 2005-11-03
i've been using this head set for about 6-8 months now and it has worked great. However, if you plan on using it for more than an hour or two it tend to get uncomfortable. The part of the headset that goes around your ears sort of has an edge on it, so it hurts my ears after awhile. But if you are only using it for short periods of time it works great!
- Skype is wonderful with this headset
     By A1ZHM56S2UR7FY on 2005-11-04
I bought this for work and home to use with Skype. It's comfortable on my ears (and I've got sensitive ears and can't wear earphones too long). The sound quality is strong and the mic is also very good. Skype is amazing, and this headset is cheap and works well with a powerful application.
Even my wife appoved with what I thought was campy color switching earphone colors. Her comment at seeing the orange covers on the headset was, "cool headset". Go figure.
- Exactly what I expected
     By AL0OYQI9IYKHJ on 2006-03-16
The headset is comfortable to wear and my conversations come through loud and clear.
- Complete waste
     By A3L8CZT6T4K4PC on 2006-07-21
I've owned this headset for about two hours. On the first plug-in and use, it worked tolerably well, though the output from my microphone (tested by calling Skype) was rather low). I've changed nothing setting-wise, but 60 minutes later, both the headphone and microphone quality are getting worse. Definitely a piece of junk. Very sorry I wasted money on it.
- Great headset
     By A179U1OKF7USH1 on 2006-09-05
I've had this headset for about 3 years, the mic and headphones on it still work fine but from all the use the ear padding wore off. Well, I ordered another one and I expect it will last just as long as the first one.
It only bothers my head alittle if I throw the headset on and don't bother to reposition my glasses, if I put my glasses on after I already have the headset on they are fine for hours. No real cons that I can think of.
