I love the book and the way it reads to you, but the age group is off. at 6 months and now at 14 months my son just trys to tear it up. he does love the noices though. maybe he will be ready for it a little later on.
EXCELLENT GIFT FOR TODDLER By on 2004-01-04
I PURCHASED THE LITTLE TOUCH SYSTEM AND BOOKS FOR MY 20 MONTH OLD SON FOR CHRISTMAS. WE SIT FOR HOURS AND READ THEM TOGETHER. OUT OF ALL THE BOOKS HE FINDS THIS ONE MOST INTERESTED SINCE THE BABIES IN THE BOOK APPEAL TO HIM A BIT MORE THAN THE REST.THE ONLY FAULT IS THAT THE ON/OFF BUTTON IS TOO EASY FOR HIM TO ACCESS AND HE KEEPS TURNING IT ON AND OFF JUST TO HEAR IT SAY "BYE BYE". I WOULD ENCOURAGE ANYONE TO PURCHASE THIS SYSTEM FOR THEIR LITTLE ONES!
Very well done By on 2004-03-28
This book has pages with emotions, good-night items, body parts, musical instruments. Leapfrog did a good job with it--for example on the "emotions" page, you can hear the IF YOU'RE HAPPY AND YOU KNOW IT song with each of the emotions. It is a sweet little book. One warning: If you buying the book for the Spanish, I have to say that it is not really bilingual. It gives only the names of the objects in Spanish, but then it switches over to English. There are no activities or songs in Spanish.
One of my daughter's favorites! By A1ITFBNSEOS9GI on 2005-06-10
My daughter (26 mos now) has 6 book/cartridge sets for the Little Touch and the Let's Get Busy Baby book gets a lot of use!
She really enjoyed this starting at an early age, too! It has everyday recognizable objects for little ones- articles of clothing, food, toys, body parts, sounds and movement: clapping, waving, dancing, jumping, on the food page, she loves hearing the baby crunching on the apple.
oh.. and the emotions! She loves to hear the babies laugh & giggle, cry, make car noises & silly noises, play peek-a-boo, there's a page of musical instruments that she loves... and then there's a good night page.... not to mention that you can do the whole thing in spanish, too!
She love this book By AUOQ85YE2DFPJ on 2004-01-01
I purchased the Little Touch system along with the other books for my 11 mos. old daughter. While she is not yet interested in the other books, she LOVES this one. I think the pictures of real life babies and real objects are more appealing to her than the animation art in the other books. She claps, dances, etc. along with the babies in the book. Though she is too young to "push" on the pages to activate them, I push on the objects she reaches toward. I would encourage anyone who purchased the Little Touch for an infant or young toddler to try this book before giving up and putting the toy aside. This is the Little Touch book for little ones!
- Good, but no all that I expected
     By on 2004-03-08
My son loves this title, the only problem is that the Spanish words do not have any activities to go with them, like the English words do, so this is not a truly bilingual book.
- This is a must have for your Little Touch LeapPad
     By A35FDPOKN960PZ on 2005-10-01
I Purchased the Little Touch LeapPad for DD's 1st Birthday (September 2005). I was worried after reading the reviews on the system that she was too young and would not take to the system. She loves the system and this book! I think Let's get Busy Baby,& Animal Dance are great for children under 18 months b/c it is colorful, has other babies or (animals), singing, clapping, and jumping. These books are age approicate! My daughter also enjoys the book that came with the system One Bear in the Bedroom. She has some of the other books but they do not captivate her like the ones mention above. I am saving those for when she turns 18 months.
- Excellent teaching tool
     By A3OHL64F59IPO5 on 2005-05-29
We have a lot of these books and this is the best one. My 16 month old has been playing with it for a few months but now can "remember" favorite pages. This book teaches children to categorize objects and teaches them the names of many everyday items. We use all three levels (sounds, words/phrases, stories) depending on his mood. The goodnight page is last, perfect for before bed.
- IT'S A GREAT TOY, BUT NOT FOR A 2 YEAR OLD
     By A174AQ2AY4E2RO on 2006-02-23
We received this as a gift for a 1 year old. It's ok, but not entertaining enough. I found it more helpful, using the Let's get busy, baby booklet as a teaching guide. I would get the book and my daughter and I would look for her head, toes on the picture and find them on her body. The cartridge is ok, but takes time and my daughter loves hitting the button to turn it off all the time. Design is wrong, on and off button should be on side of product. I think she will enjoy it when she's 2 1/2 or 3. But, not at 2.
- Too much background noise...(narration) and too touch sensitive
     By A3RU203P33GX3W on 2006-02-21
Leappads are a great learning tool for children. However, I find the incessant narration to be too busy for children to pay attention to. My 81-mos daughters get easily distracted with all the noise. The technology involves individual pages which have certain places which you press. This in turn, correlates to certain recording on the main unit. This is how each page speaks specifically to that page. Often times if you just touch places on a page (since babies love to just touch everything), other page contents starts speaking... If you own one you'll know what I'm talking about.
I wish they would perfect it a little better and cut down on some of the background narration. Children love to explore and touch everything! Too busy/noisy for a small child.
- Cute for the little ones
     By A1WJL500L1EVBO on 2005-01-15
Althought the little touch books aren't that durable, this is a good one for the younger set. My 15 month old son likes looking at the baby faces. He really only likes one page so far that shows babies emotions, but that's ok. He isn't really interested in too many of the other little touch books, so one page is ok.
- We love this one!
     By A2IBSW2V495I9U on 2006-03-22
We have 4 Little Touch books in all and this one is the best for a baby. This one has the most to offer for a baby under one. Even though the whole system says it is for 6 months and up, I found very little until this book held my baby's interest. My big kids enjoy helping their baby sister explore her LeapPad, too.
- LittleTouch
     By A31EA28T8Q86MG on 2006-02-02
I have mixed feelings about the LittleTouch LeapPad. The age range was 6mo to 2 years. At 6 mos my daughter wasn't the least bit interested in this. At 16 mos. she was only interested in turning it on and off. Now at 21 mos. she's more interested - but she's outgrown the Let's Get Busy, Baby! - she already knows all the words and is bored enough to revert to just turning it on and off. Maybe it's a good product for less active children. Mine's not one of those.
- Let's Get Busy, For Real!
     By A2CGTFYOJI4PYZ on 2006-10-11
Ok, so there are two sayings that I use ALL THE TIME. One is "Ya'll ready ta hit this party?" and the other is "Let's get busy, baby!" So you can just imagine my excitement when I realized that the latter had been turned into a baby learning device. And it's good! If you want your baby "gettin into it" and "doin it to it," then this software is perfect for you. Do you picture your baby in a little pantsuit with a tiny suitcase, crawling out your door to work in the morning? Does that seem like just a far-off dream? Well not anymore, baby! Cause baby, this is gonna get your baby busy, baby! You think babies aren't able to attend quarterly stock review meetings at Hewlett-Packard? That's the way things USED to be. Now, not only can babies attend those meetings, they can LEAD them. After this easy-to-follow course, your baby will be able to recognize its nose, a banana, and shoes. After that, all you need to add to the mix is the aforementioned suit and briefcase, and your baby's gonna get busy all over the place! Now get to work, baby!
