Amnesia By A1OWROB7ZLPIYQ on 2008-02-13
Every five or six years I suffer from amnesia and buy a set of thease "filter wrench's". They seem like a good idea but the fact is they do not work. Save your money. The palm of your hand works as good or better. If you use two fingers you just make an ovel and the filter never comes off. I've been a photographer and a teacher for over 40 years, so you would think I would have learned this by now, Amnesia.
Great for circular polarizers and other filters By A2XFX6ADNMZHB1 on 2008-08-05
If you have filters on your camera, whether it's a UV filter that is on the lens 99% of the time, or you change filters often, then I highly recommend getting these lens wrenches. This product is particular useful in loosening my B+W Circular Polarizer because the wrench can lock onto the screw-in portion of the filter, instead of the rotating outside layer. The one time that I couldn't get my UV filter off and I didn't have the wrenches around, I really regretted it. Now I carry them with me in my camera bag all the time, since they don't take up much space. I bought these and the smaller size ones, and since there are two wrenches in each pack, I gave one set to a friend.
Beware though, if you tighten your filters onto your lenses with as much force as you're tightening the pipes in your bathroom, then you're going to have trouble getting the filter loose with any product.
I agree that the shipping cost from the vendor is pretty high for this product. I have the luxury of living in NYC, so I just walked over and got these in person. If you know someone in NYC, get them to pick these up for you. Or you can save up a bunch of items and order them all at once to save on shipping.
Perfect for those overtightened filters By A33HA1VRI3NO5V on 2007-02-11
No more damaged filters that were overtightened and loosened with some other tool (channel lock pliers, perhaps?). With these light weight and very functional filter wrenches you can get your overtightened filters off with ease and without damaging your filter, or worse yet, your valuable lenses. A must have for any photographer who uses filters to enhance thier photographic experience.
product good, shipping exhorbitant By A3C4GJREDWZWKE on 2008-02-09
To pay six or eight dollars to "ship" an item that could pass through first class stamp with little more than a thirty seven cent stamp seems a little numb. Especially if the article being purchased is less than half the price of the S&H.
Simple but effective By A2J6LVPWDFMIIZ on 2008-02-22
A simple solution to the task of installing and removing lens filters. Works fine and up to the task.
