  • GREAT!

    By A495VEQD5Y8NN on 2005-01-13
I bought these t-shirt transfers after wasting time, money and t-shirts using other brands and even the Avery brand for white t-shirts were horrible. They smeared and when washed once the image was faded beyond recognition.

A friend recommended these (even for white t-shirt use) and they are amazing. They look completely professional, are easy to use and I have washed the items a million times and no fading has occurred at all. In my opinion, using any other brand is a waste. These are worth every extra penny you spend more than the kind designated for white t-shirts.

  • Fantastic!

I bought my first set of five sheets days ago, with no real idea with what i wanted to use it for. Just tonight I decided to spruce up my backpack for school using various images. It was very easy, and the results are amazing! I strongly suggest that everybody try it out, it really brought a new, more glamourous life to that old backpack!!

  • You Can Get One At OfficeDepot for $12.99

This is a great quality product. Best quality transfer paper I've ever used. It's pretty expensive if you buy it here though. You can get this same exact product at your local Office Depot for a cheaper price plus you don't have to pay shipping/handling.

I've been having trouble finding Avery 3297 Dark T-Shirt transfers in any local store. For some peculiar reason Staples and Office Depot carry many packets of the Light fabric transfers, which are worthless (they fall apart after the slightest use and the colors run when washed), but never more than 3 or 4 of the really terrific Dark fabric transfers.

I can't give enough praise for these heavier plastic, opaque transfers for dark colors, and use them regardless of the color of fabric. As a military veteran and political activist, I use them for peace rallies and marches, and have made flags, banners, shoulder and cap patches--even an occasional T-shirt! Highly recommend them, but where are they in the stores? Some managers tell me they were cleaned out during the Christmas season, and I now suspect that the recent store stock has been bought up by other political activists getting reading for our rally and march in Washington DC on Jan 27. If you're an activist, think about how YOU can use them.

PS: I always hand-wash all my finished products in cool or lukewarm water, and have had no problems with colors running. Just be sure the design is thoroughly ironed on!

  • Worked pretty well.

    By A2RUFZY6PQELCU on 2007-06-24
I have used the Avery transfers for white/light before with good luck on a white shirt. So, now I've tried this to put transfers on dark color shirts. They worked ok. The color of the shirt shows through the lighter colors on my design, so the colors are "off" from what I wanted. And the colors are a little dull. But I had no problem with the transfer itself and it went through one wash/dry well. For comparison, I tried the white/light transfer on the same dark color to comare, and the colors did turn out better with the dark transfer paper. I haven't used any other transfer paper on dark colors for comparison, but I was a little disappointed in the performance, but it's acceptable.

  • Work really well....
    By AOBBOKDQPHNYA on 2007-05-18
Instructions could be better... remember you need to peel the transfer off the paper before applying it to the T-Shirt or you will mess up yr iron!!!

  • Some tips
    By A1NIT0SMVOZGNE on 2008-08-01
Some people are saying that the colors bleed through dark colored shirts but this only happens when you're applying too much heat or applying the heat for too long.

I know this because I ironed on a larger image, but incidentally I ironed the print unevenly. The outside boarders had the original color of the print rather than colors that bled.

I recommend either turning down the heat a bit or ironing the image more rapidly.

    Good luck and happy printing/ironing.

  • NEGATIVE TEN STARS
    By A14X2ZI3AV7YW4 on 2006-10-24
This is a review of the Avery 3279 Ink Jet Dark T-Shirt Transfers. But I wouldn't be surprised to discover that the rest of the stuff they make is ALSO junk.

This stuff is EXPENSIVE....over $15 for five sheets from Office Depot.
I had put in a brand new ink cartridge just a couple of days prior (HP PSC 1410 Inkjet) and it was working fine on normal paper. Read all the directions carefully and more than once. First time, the paper CUT OFF the top portion of the image.....sure, blame it on the printer; but if so, why didn't normal paper do this? Second time, it printed really wimpy and hazy grey....yet I had set the printer to use MAXIMUM dpi! I thought, "OK, maybe it will darken from the heat of the iron. Set the kitchen timer, ironed it exactly as instructed....and it is STILL a sickening hazy grey instead of the crisp black I wanted! AND some of the darkness of the fabric below is showing through the white portions.
Oh yes...it is INCREDIBLY difficult to peel off the backing...you do end up having to tear a portion of the design you create, pretty much ruining it.
So....wasted time shopping for this. Overpaid for the product. Wasted HOURS prepping the image. And now I have a ruined tote bag that can't be replaced. Avery scum, I HATE YOU

  • not on black shirts
    By A2AIZKZ2YZ9QLP on 2007-11-01
I tried to use these on a black t-shirt, and it worked.... sort of.
The colors were significantly less bright after ironing them on.
The image was there, it was just... very dull. Not what I expected.

  • T-shirt transfer
    By A1BIZD7L3MLLKQ on 2008-02-08
The T-shirt transfers worked great for me. The instructions were easy to follow . This was my first time using a T-shirt transfer and it was easier than I thought it would be.

  • Wonderful!
    By A24I6S17REVG34 on 2008-04-30
My sons school does not sell shirts for soccer team fans so I bought these to make my own shirts. They worked wonderfully. I got tons of comliments on how the shirts turned out. The colors were bright and really stood out. These iron ons are also easy to use for the most part adn I would have given them 5 stars but these sheets required you to peel off the backing and it was very difficult to get it off.

  • Worked Great!
    By A1EE6LQS3OPY6R on 2007-07-23
Looks like a pro job, ironed on great, crisp and clear. Really happy with this product.

  • very happy!
    By AKWALMOQNTFNW on 2007-07-24
very happy with this product. It was easy to use and showed up very well on the shirt.

  • Won't last in the dryer; peels and cracks
    By A1R69EBZG1HTFO on 2007-12-05
After several washings and spins in the dryer, the iron-ons will peel and crack on the clothing. You might still get decent results with pre-shrunk clothes (wash & dry first) and then always plan to hang dry them after the artwork has been applied. Don't dry Avery iron-ons in the dryer; they will be destroyed in no time.

  • Poor performance heat pressed or ironed
    By A1WUCPUBJ6O2NZ on 2008-02-13
This paper is expensive for 5 sheets, but I pretty much expect that, what I didn't expect was the final results to be so poor / mediocre. I tried ironing on very carefully as per the instructions and the design was inconsistent with one area brighter white and the rest very dark apparently from the white ink flowing into black printed areas by the motion of the iron so I thought I should pay to get the future designs heat pressed straight on. The result was a whole image that while visible was consistent grey throughout the image where white parts should be and a darkening of all colors. Not very good, even if better than a light T-shirt transfer on black shirt. Very mediocre result. Also i noticed this paper had a tendency to fight a bit with the printer messing up the first sheet I did and causing other sheets to have whole design rotated different to the angle of the paper. The backing is also very, very difficult to remove unless you gently tear the paper on an edge. Not nearly as good as the reviews, description or example on the packaging had lead me to believe, the white will almost never will be true white with this paper.

  • A pox on Avery for this product! They should be ashamed!
    By A1QJ9YUHIXQNDY on 2008-03-03
Avery 3279 Inkjet Dark T-Shirt Transfers

Overpriced and way too difficult to use. Following the instructions exactly regarding timing, the first image burned. Could not fully remove it, so the item was ruined. Could not then separate the backing from any of the remaining four sheets, so the entire package of transfers was wasted. Considering the price, it seems reasonable to expect that the backing would have pullable tabs like a band-aid to enable separation without smudging the design or otherwise destroying the transfer.

  • worked great!!
    By AE21UNOLJ3HF8 on 2008-04-22
I researched for a good iron on transfer paper to make my own graphic tees and saw that this one was the most popular. I used this to make a graphic tee on a white shirt (even though this is for dark t-shirts) and it came out PERFECT and was so easy to use.

    I highly recommend this product.

  • Easy to use
    By A1YEMBGB95N82X on 2008-10-26
I used the transfer to make a flag, putting a club logo on parachute cloth. I think the cloth was a bit light, since I did get some bubbling in the finished product. But it was easy to use and looks good.

  • better than jam
    By A1JN3S6C5NAN66 on 2008-11-25
Worked great, just read and follow the guide. We used them on a few types of materials and they worked great for each one.

Colours are good, transfers have done fine in the washing machine and even drier.

I suggest you just read the instructions and ensure you are following the guidelines for DARK and you should have no issues.

backing is removed before you iron it not after.

was able to cut up the sheets after printing to make lots of small, large and odd shaped tranfers.
