This watch is for VERY petite adults! By A32ELK13LKIYOO on 2007-04-04
The only watches I have ever owned over the years are Timex, so I was very excited about ordering this beautiful watch. You can imagine my surprise when I got it and it looked like it would fit a child! I could barely get it on the first hole. It's going back immediately. Please do not buy it unless you have a very petite wrist otherwise it will NOT fit.
Too small! - Timex Women's Leather Moonphase Watch #T27901 By A5QCH8M5M0B2B on 2007-01-15
The watch itself is attractive and appears to keep time consistently. But, don't buy this item for anyone that does NOT have the wrist of an 11 year-old girl! From my observation, the band appears to be on the short side.
Classic By A3W3KGAF3HD8F2 on 2007-01-16
bought this to replace the exact same watch that I bought in 1993 and was still wearing --- only problem with the old one was a very scratched crystal from everyday wear for a dozen plus years! The only other moon/sun dial watches I could find on line started at four figures... This is a classic and a great buy! Timex -- please don't change it!!!!
Moonphase Not! By A3P5M6ZG49CP8B on 2008-01-12
This watch is not a moonphase watch. All it does is change its display every 12 hours from a sun to a moon. The phases of the moon shown on the watch are not related at all to the actual moonphases in the heavens.
Not a True Moon Phase Watch - But Exactly What She Wanted!!! By A3LCIDAAXGYQUE on 2008-04-23
My oldest daughter, (grown up and single Mom of a mid-teen daughter of her own), has a small collection of nice inexpensive to mid-range watches. Some dress, some casual and some sport. I'm kind of a watch collector and she occasionally rolls her eyes with feigned annoyance when she finds that I have just ordered, or just received another one for myself.
So she told me; "Dad, I have all the watches that I need. But if you feel like getting me one, I've always wanted one with a Day/Night Sun & Moon display on the face and a brown leather band.
So I looked and looked and looked. True "Moon Phase" watches that utilize specialized movements that are geared to sync with an extra internal "Lunar Event Calendar", (differently timed than 24-hour/day solar calendars), are very expensive and the selection is small.
Others, like this one, are not true "Moon Phase", but rather use a simple day and night sub-dial that can be easily incorporated into any analog watch movement and syncronized to the 24 hour cycle. Having said that, this is "Exactly What She Wanted" !!! After months of searching department and discount stores and internet resources, leave it to Amazon to have just "Exactly What She Wanted" at a good price.
And how about Timex for still making a timeless classic in a classy, easy to read format and design. It presents with a very attractive and stylish looking faceted gold-tone all stainless steel case, classic white dial, easy to read numerals, markers, three hand movement and date window. It is nominally water-resistant to water-splash, rain-storms and such, and by default, equally resistant to dust, perspiration and vapor contamination. Just tight enough to keep the movement clean, protected and thereby durable and dependable with normal day-to-day use.
The leather strap is medium quality, (typical in this range), adequate for the price, and just the right length for most ladies wrists, from small to large. (I examined it myself and do not agree with some other objections that it is short) Even if it wears out, suitable replacements can easily be found at modest prices. The 27mm case diameter is just a touch larger than most ladies watches of this type, and allows it to remain feminine in appearance, and yet easier to read than most.
BEST OF ALL, it features a larger than usual, cool looking Day/Night, Sun and Moon rotating subdial, attractively noticable, but tastefully balanced with the overall appearance of the dial and face. "Exactly What She Wanted"!!!
Not the most expensive watch that she owns, or that I have bought. But it was "Exactly What She Wanted"!!! The Timex reputation puts quality fears to rest for this low-priced time-piece. It was an even greater bargain with the Amazon discount. The happiness it brought was priceless! It was a perfect gift!
Thanks Timex for keeping an old tradition alive. And of course, how about Amazon!! Could have saved myself alot of time and trouble by looking here first. Amazon shipped it promptly and safely.
VERY SATISFACTORY! VERY PLEASED! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!
Oh, and did I mention: It was "EXACTLY WHAT SHE WANTED"!!!
- Love this watch!
     By AL5MEY1YLN7C3 on 2007-12-14
I've wanted this watch with its sky display for ages... thought it wasn't made any more. It even has a date window! I'm tickled every time I look at it.
- My favorite watch
     By A3VJG08JLOS9Y5 on 2007-03-19
I simply love the "moon&stars - sun" face on a watch - this is my second one over the years - took me a couple years to find a replacement (thank goodness for the Internet)! Keeps time well, a true Timex beauty. I had bought an "Indiglo" as a replacement, with a plain face, which I liked, except for the stem, which was very hard to pull out (hardly stuck up at all abve the case) to set the time (twice a year for Daylight Saving Time change) and a real pain when I travel internationally... this watch has a "standard" stem which is easy to pull out....

- I love this watch!
     By A1B6VYZL6KDIN2 on 2007-09-20
I had a watch just like this growing up. I didn't know that they still made them, and I stumbled across it here. I ordered it, and I am just as pleased with it as I was growing up!
- very durable watch
     By A1JVG2EUDNQ3HT on 2007-11-04
Anyone else remember those Timex commercials on tv? There was one really good one where a firefly falls in love with the indiglo Timex watch and keeps sitting on it and then the watch-wearer slaps the poor firefly dead, but the watch keeps working and the slogan is "Timex. It takes a licking and keeps on ticking." What's the point of this anecdote, you ask? Simply that this watch really does live up to the slogan. I got this watch as a gift in 1994 and it just broke a few weeks ago, so mine lasted 13 years. A very nice, durable watch. I won't be buying this particular watch again (I need a metal and not leather band) but I'll definitely buy another Timex. This is the longest-lasting watch I've had.
- 2nd one in 8 years
     By A36PJUOONNE4SG on 2007-12-14
this is my second one in 8 years it true it takes a lickin and keeps on tickin! I love it would not own any other watch
- A watch with character at such a low price!
     By A1ODM9TWWUN2QK on 2007-12-15
This watch has so much character that I am pleased every time I put it on and I've had it for a good 6 months now. This is my weekend watch and I do housework, gardening, ocean swimming and leisuring with it. My stylish 16 years old daughter even borrows it now and then. If your wrist is more than 6 1/2inch or 17cm in diameter, then this watch is too small for you.
I rate it 4 stars instead of 5 because the only complaint I have about it is that the leather strap can be of better quality. Also, the 2nd loop is a bit too big and look like it can come undone, but so far,it's fine. But, hey you can't expect perfection at the price that it is. The time piece is beautiful! I hope they don't discontinue it.
- Moon-phase Timex watch
     By A1OO0X2ENE19CY on 2007-12-31
I was so happy to receive this watch. I had one years ago with a larger face by Timex. I have a small wrist and it is perfect for me!!Of course, keeps perfect time!Sometimes, simple and understated is the way to go.The Moonphase feature is so unique! i will probably go crazy and start collecting Moonphase watches!!
- Beautiful, and exactly as I remember
     By A12U2NL8HAQJI5 on 2008-02-03
I received this watch many years ago as a young girl, and must have worn it for at least 8 years. But, it stopped working and battery replacement didn't help. I've been searching for another since then, so I was very happy to find it here.
This is not actually a moonphase watch; instead it shows the sun and the moon on a rotating dial.
Many other reviews talk about the small wristband. I've noticed it is most comfortable for a 17cm wrist, (my size); however, I am not a petite woman, and think it fits quite nicely. If the wristband size is what you're worried about, don't let that stop you. The face is beautiful, and leather bands stretch with time, and if needed, can always be replaced. :)
- Nice watch, a tad small
     By A14PTWTUGYVMNP on 2008-03-12
I didn't have any trouble with the band fitting as mentioned (and I'm definitely not 11)in some other reviews, but the face was a tad smaller than I was expecting for a moon phase watch, Still makes a nice watch that I can recommend.
