  • Great Fun, but needs improvement

    By A37XK9NKCPZT26 on 2004-07-17
I bought this for my 6 year old daughter as her birthday present from Wal-Mart and it came fully assembled and all I had to do was to charge it and it was ready to go. It was great fun and it brought smiles to everyone and they all wanted to know what it was and where can they buy one. The bike can take riders upto 240 pounds so it's for adults as well, If you can manage to sit on it, you can ride it around the block for some fun.

The bike although does not have any shocks either in the front or the back has good thick tires to absorb shocks. The power seems to be reasonable all though it slows down considerably on roads with even moderate slopes. I also wish that it came with some type of variable speed control so parents can preset the speed and increase it gradually to help kids, this is also important as the bike can go really fast. I also wish that it came with a kick stand instead of the center stand as it's difficult to place it on the center stand.

All said and done, we had to return the bike in less than a week and just after a day of riding since I noticed movement of the handlebar, it was loose and I tried to screw it back on but the nut and the screw that holds the handlebar just kept turning, the threads on the screw were damaged. I would wait for Razor to fix some of these early quality issues before I buy one again. I think the bike is kind of on an early trial run right now so Razor can get some feedback.

  • Awesome little ride!!!

    By A2YJP0QJULVWEZ on 2005-05-04
Our Pocket Rocket has really held up. It's the red streak of the neighborhood. All my friends and even their parents have ridden it. My best friend crashed it, but it took the hit really well. Thank goodness you can get parts for it easily. Always wear a helmet!

  • Great toy

    By on 2005-07-08
My 10 year old brother just bought this pocket bike a little over a week ago. He loves it the real speed is 15 mph but down hill is 20mph. He rides it in our culdesac and backyard all day. Very fun, durable, and safe all at the same time. Great buy.

  • THE BEST TOY EVER !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    By on 2006-03-13
The pocket bike is the best toy you can buy from Razer.I rode a friend of mines pocket bike it was m first time on one and i thought it was even better than my Sunl 500.It rode smooth and was half dead on the battery but I could still get a lot of speed.I would recomend the toy for ages 5 and up i way 100 pounds and I was still comferteble on the seat.I hope this review helped.

  • Fun... but way too small

    By on 2005-07-20
My friend has one of these things and i was riding it around. it seemed like alot of fun at first but after about 1o min it started to hurt my legs. im 13 but im only 4"11' and it was still uncomfortable. when i got off it was hard to stand up and my knees hurt pretty bad. it is really fun and it seems like you are going faster than you really are because you are closer to the ground wich is really cool. i like it but i woul recomend gettin the chopper because it is more stretched out and comfortable to ride. they go the same speed and the chopper is less expensive. my real rating woule be a 3 1/2 stars but they dont have half stars on the rating thing. i hope this helped!

  • So Far So Good!
    By A2TQCUUK98PI1V on 2005-09-21
We bought this for our 9 year old son for christmas last year. He loves it. All the kids from the block come over and ride on it. He is big for his age and fits on fine. My husband even rides this thing. My son has had a few crashes(nothing major/not fast enough) and the razor pocket rocket held up fine. The age guide line could start at 8 or 9 because its so little. We feel this is a great toy and so far worth the money.

  • This is a pretty good Toy
    By on 2006-04-20
This is bike good for 7-12 years old kids because even though its ment for big kids its really pretty small. The price on this reasinable and it goes sort of fast but you have to charch it alot. This is a blast the first 4 mounths but then gets sort of boring. Its best if you have 2 of these so then you can race and so on. I am giving this 4 stars becasue its so fun the first 4 months. This is a great gift!!

    By A17M7SFLFJJ32J on 2005-11-25
do not i repeat do not buy this piece of crap!!!!!!!!!!!! it sucks you will have it for 2 days and then it falls apart and breaks. you charge it for 5-6 hours and you ride it for 10 mins. that sucks doesnt it. also go for a gas one .even though gas is more dangerous it is still just as dangerous as an electric one. ok so you read what i had to say so be smart and be safe. make the right choise youll be happy garantee it.peace out

This toy is the best every kid should have one. Better then we thought it could be. No problems so far after 3 days of continous riding.

  • Its great
    By A1DLI1Q8WKFQNP on 2005-12-04
I have this pocketbike and i have to say this thing is a lot of fun. No matter if your riding on flat ground or going down a hill its still fun. I have three electric bikes including this one. One goes 25 and the other goes 20. After getting off those the speed of this one feels just as fast. As for the durability i have had no problems with it and i am 115 pounds. I enjoy this bike very much and i love to ride all the way down my street with my dad and brother while they are riding bikes. I can keep up easily. As far as the price i think it is a steal. I didn't get it from walmart but i did get it at a great price. If you buy it you will enjoy it. The styling is great also. O and by the way, i have had grown adults stop me on all three of my scooters to ask me questions about them and the pocketbike has been the most popular one.

  • Can't Charge Batteries, So Can't Use
    By A2KR1KWIP2YZY1 on 2005-12-25
We are unable to charge the batteries. As soon as I plug it in the light turns green and the charging stops, but the batteries are still dead. I don't know if it is the charger or the batteries or the cabilng, but something is bad worng. Of course, the 8-year old who got it for Christmas is devistated. We'll see how the service department shapes up when they reopen after the holiday.

  • Can't wait to get one!!!
    By on 2006-04-22
I cant wait to get one!!! I have read other reviews of this Razor Toy and I can't wait to get this R2800. It goes up to 15 MPH!!! And with a full charge you can play up to 45 minutes. It is for ages 10-18 and can hold up to 220 LBS!!! I hope you learned alot about product!!! Bye!!!

  • Razor refuses to stand behind products
    By A34P3QXNNYJGQH on 2005-09-05
If you are unsure about purchasing this item, I urge you to please read some of the reviews on other Razor products. You will find numerous complaints about this company. After reading all the problems people have had with other Razor products and chargers, I can't believe they continue to sell their crappy products. We spent over a hundred bucks on a Razor Electric Scream Machine for my son last year for Christmas. He's ridden it maybe 5 times since then, because the charger fails after a few uses. After tracking someone down at Razor (their customer service sucks as bad as their products), they sent us a new charger. Used it once, then that quit on us. Tried to get our money back, but they said they will only reimburse for taking it to a repair shop. What a pain, what a disappointment, what a waste of money. Don't expect them to stand behind any of their products. They don't have anyone at their company to talk to when you call. You must leave a message, and wait for them to get around to calling you. By the way, the Electric Scream Machine is no longer on the market. They make their money selling their defective products, then pull them from the shelves knowing they're defective, but won't refund a dime to their customers.

  • Great Quality! Very fun too!
    By on 2005-09-08
Our friends have a razor pocket rocket and they let me try it out. I loved it. Its quality is very good; they've had it for about 3 years now and it is still in mint condition. It takes about 2hours to charge and lasts about 45 minutes.it goes about 15 mph, and is very easy to control.I would recommend this product to kids about 9 years old and up becausethe weight compacity is 220 pounds and anyone under 9 may be afraid ormay not see the fun in this.the cost is pretty low for what you get.I got mine recently for 183 bucks.Overall i recommend that you get this over any other electricly moterized product(I looked for about 1 month and this was the best product i could find for the money)because of cost and Quality.I am 11 years old.

  • had a great ride with this one
    By A1NVTXDCS6SNL4 on 2006-03-26

  • Fantastic ride-on from Razor!!!
    By AFKNNEH1MPBXU on 2007-01-11
My five-year old got this pocket rocket for Christmas and it is fantastic! It is the perfect size for him. I can't imagine a twelve-year-old or up as the manufacturer suggests being able to comfortably ride this as it is very small. Anyway, it runs super fast, so fast that it scared me in the beginning, but I make sure my son wears a helmet and pads at all times when riding. Luckily, no spills yet. The battery easily lasts an entire day of fairly constant riding, and then I charge it at night for the next day. This is a great, great ride-on, especially for $150. It's the best $$ Santa ever spent at our house!!

  • VROOOOOOMMMM
    By A2XVKMW7LDG5A9 on 2004-10-19
I gifted it to my son...he loved it ...I want him to be a racer like rossi....gift it to your kid and see the billion dollar smile on their face.

  • CUTE BIKE - THAT'S IT
    By ABORHRA8BQG9N on 2005-12-29
This was purchase as a X-MAS gift and was a blast for our 5 year old. PLEASE TRUST THIS REVIEW. THE CHARGER/BATTERY ONLY WORKS FOR 30 MINUTES AT A GOOD SPEED. If you are going up hill at all(over and over) after 5 minutes of riding the power has gone. The age rating is confusing. Way to small for a 10 year old. Framing falls off after a few falls to the ground. If you really want to get a motorcycle save up and get a gas powered Honda then put a governor on it. We did try to ride this on the grass but it has no speed or traction. This is a great item but the durability is terrible and the battery & charger are worse.

  • !!!!!!!!!!!!!!GREAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
    By on 2006-11-23
I bought my pocket bike recently and love it. I am eleven years old and have had 3 other scooters a razor-E100, sharper image x7 and shaper image x10 and this is the best by far this bike has a great look! and goes extreamly fast. If you are bigger and are worried about it being too small I have a 14 year old friend that can easily fit on it.Over all i love it.

  • cool

i'm getting this for christmas and it is cool it seems like a real motorcycle

  • A Great Bike For Us Kids!
    By on 2008-03-24
I received the bike for Christmas two years ago. I have to say, I LOVE IT. I recommend this for someone age Nine and up. Maybe Eight. Since this is a pocket bike. It's motorized. This would be a bad idea for a kid who can't ride on a two wheeler bike. Training wheels aren't able to be attached. This is a fast bike too. It goes 15 MPH. A young kid around the age of 5 can't handle a fall at a speed in that range. I'm twelve and I've taken some nasty falls on it. Don't let that make you say "This thing is too dangerous".
This bike was designed to be ridden on pavement. That's how you can go 15 MPH. I don't have pavement where I live so I am forced to ride it in my backyard. It still runs well on grass, gravel and rough surfaces.
This bike is easy to make portable. It weighs about forty five pound and can be put inside of a car trunk. I do that sometimes. To ride it on pavement to really get the adrenaline pumping.
Inside the box, the bike comes with the bike (Of course). And with the front fender. It needs to be put on before riding. I think now it comes with that assembled already. It comes with decals too. It has a charger and it needs to be charged twenty four hours before use. The handlebars must be fixed before too. Move them to any position that you like and tighten them.

  • AWESOME!
    By on 2005-06-28
Well, I do not have this bike yet, but I am getting it today. I have ridden my cousins and let me tell you... it was AWESOME!! I did not want to get off of it, it was SO much fun! I think the price is managable, too! Hope this helped.

  • It's ok
    By on 2006-11-26
I mean its a cool bike its pretty fast for a ''razor''. I would recommend to go too [...] for a whole list of pocket bikes. Because if your like 10-14 years old i woundnt get because its only 15in high (which can be a problem if your tall) and theres only 45 min use of this thing.

    p.s. I would get a GAS bike.

  • We all had fun
    By A3ERTFFUCUQAEW on 2007-01-17
It is a great compromise for the gas-powered, 40 mph pocket rockets. The electric pocket rocket is fast enough to have fun and slow enough not to get hurt. Even the 40 year old mother had fun!!!!

  • Happy biker in Dallas
    By A28BSV6KDF862D on 2007-06-11
Little, easy assembly required that takes about 5 minutes. Got this electric motorcycle looking minature bike for my son's birthday. He just turned 12 and it fits perfect for him, but he is 5 ft tall and weighs about 90 lbs. His older brother is 14 years, and is 5 ft 5 inches and weighs 120 lbs. is too big for this bike. My younger son says 15 mph is fast enough for now. My older son really has more interest in.....girls as this point, not ths bike! So age wise I would say ages 9-12? IMO.

  • Totally Cool
    By A3PM6XF2UELXP1 on 2005-09-15
This thing is very cool. I was a little skeptical over the small size and electric power, but after almost a year my 8 year old son rides this thing everywhere ! He goes on fire trial Mountain Bike rides with me even! No sign of wear, still lasts forever on a charge. It would be very cool to have a little suspension, but overall this motorcycle is a great beginners bike that is a whole lot of fun. Highly reccomended for small beginner riders.

  • the pocket rocket
    By on 2005-12-22
ni like it and i want it but u need to put a price on the dang toy

  • Bad brakes on two of them
    By A3QY4W1UBDAI8J on 2006-12-11
Both bikes I purchased have bad brakes, worked on by knowledgeable professional - still unusable due to being unsafe, unreliable. Waste of considerable money.
