  • The wireless controller you've been waiting for.

    By A1FUXYWIAE8IS5 on 2004-09-09
Ever since video game hardware and accessory makers got the inspiration to create wireless controllers, it became the case that they always managed to screw up at least one of two things on each new design: either the controller is awful, or the wireless aspect is worthless.

Nintendo changed all that with the release of their Wavebird wireless controller, the first wireless controller that worked as well as, and felt just as good as, the wired controllers it was meant to replace. So the Gamecube got an excellent wireless pad on the first try... not so with the PS2. Sony refuses to take a hint from Nintendo, and so leaves the development of wireless pads to third-party developers. The end result has been a steady stream of crappy pads. Logitech's first controller had excellent wireless response, but had an awful controller design. The Pelican wireless controllers seem to exhibit just a little bit of wireless lag. And the Airplay controller drops signal randomly.

But this, Logitech's *new* controller, bucks the trend, and finally gives us a wireless PS2 controller that stands up to the task. It's well sculpted, so it's comfortable in the hands. Even with batteries, it's a good, balanced weight. The directional pad is simple and reliable. The face buttons have a nice, tactile click, without being too stiff. The sticks aren't as domed as the Sony pad's are, but they are textured, so your thumbs don't slip off, and the translucent blue orbs that the sticks extend from look pretty cool (too bad they don't illuminate!). The controller itself also has a kind of matte texture which seems to reduce, if not eliminate, Sweaty Palm Syndrome. As controllers go, this is a good one so far. But how is the wireless performance?

Well, the good news is, *it rocks*. I've noticed no lag whatsoever, and no signal dropouts. The rumble feature is quite adequate, and the battery life is outstanding (50+ hours on a set of 2 AA batteries). The range is more than most people will need (30 feet or so... now I can play games from my kitchen!), and the receiver unit is surprisingly small. I'm used to big, ugly wireless receivers sticking off of my PS2, but this thing is tiny... only barely larger than the actual connector piece from a wired controller, in fact. Neither the controller nor the receiver has any kind of "channel" setting, so I was somewhat worried that only one of these could be used at a time. I seem to have underestimated Logitech, though... apparently, the controllers are smart, and can self-adjust, finding frequencies far enough apart so that they don't interfere with each other. Brilliant.

This is a great controller in every aspect. Highly, highly reccommended.

  • Fantastic!!

    By A1T3CTSM0B3IZA on 2004-07-13
One thing I always hated about game consoles was the constant tripping over tangled wires. Wires intersecting each other, making a mess of things.

Enter the Logitech Cordless Action Controller!! This is without a doubt one of the best controllers I've ever used! The controllers is very well made. The feel of it is very natural in your hands, though slightly different than the original PS2 Dual Shock. There's a nice satin like finish that prevents alot of dirt from your hands from making the controller too slippery. There is literally no notciable lag or delay in the controller's operation. The controllers 2.4 ghz signal ensures that you won't miss any of the action. Every function of the original is reproduced faithfully. Installation is extremely simple. Plug the reciever into your PS2's controller port and simpley press the action button to get a signal. There is also a button on the reciever to make the connection if needed. The battery life (the controller takes two AA batterys) is approximatley 300 hours without the vibration mode and 50 hours with the vibration mode on. A small sacrifice to make for a great product such as this.

I really can't say enough good things about this product. It's great if you have small children in the house especially. No more worrying if they are going to trip and drag the console across the room. In fact this is such a great controller I'm considering buying a second!

  • Best wireless controller EVER. Heck, best PS2 controller.

    By A12Z59118GB1JS on 2004-05-27
    Buy this.

I guess I should elaborate since I do have 1000 words to work with, but the basic point is this controller is awesome. If you're like many people and wanted a wireless controller for your PS2 but were scared of the brick and a half sized previous Logitech controller, fear not. This is the smaller, cheaper, and better little brother of the monster wireless.

It's VERY comfortable. I'd almost say I enjoy it more than the original. While it's basically identical in size, I prefer the curves a bit more to the PS2's original harder angles. If you have some kind of silly infatuation with the Dual Shock though, it's not like you will be let down, it's a very small deviation from the standard.

And for the first time that I've experienced with a third party controller, this thing doesn't feel like plastic you'd find in most dollar-store products. It's sturdy, has weight, and the sticks and buttons feel awesome. Sticks are SLIGHTLY less rigid than the DS2, but they're more firm than the DS1 if that helps.

After 2 weeks my batteries with rumble are still working just fine, so it's not like after 10 hours this thing's asking for more juice.

Just buy this thing already, you shouldn't even be reading this far. It's the best wireless controller EVER. Yes, even better than the Wavebird since they didn't skimp on the two-way transmission - meaning this controller has rumble (don't buy Nintendo's BS about battery life, they just made it transmit one-way). Rumble is good, it passed the rez test.

D-pad is kinda disc shaped but strangely it works VERY well. If the original DS2 D-pad was 100, I'd give this in the 90s easily, which is about 50 points higher than any other 3rd party D-pad.

Like most of logitech's products, it's even licensed by Sony. But that's sony, they're followers, not leaders, though we never should've been without good wireless for this long.

  • Better PS2 Controller than expected

    By A2Y7CSZGS4HUBA on 2004-10-11
Well you won't go too wrong with this controller here as it's performing better than any other PS2 controller I've used so far. It fits comfortably in your hands, the response time is fluid, the analog sticks and buttons perform as well as Sony's DualShock 2 if not better. My only complaint would be the D-pad. Where sony's has the 4 way d-pad protuding from the controller for better location of direction, the logitech one has 8-way pad which could hurt if you need to pinpoint a certain location and at times feels stiff. The wireless adapter is sleek and lights up green for each button press or directional change. The Vibration function is very strong and can be easily tuned off. Also the finish of the controller itself is smooth and should prevent sweaty palms. If you want the best performing controller for the PS2 and are sick of wires, then this is the only product you should spend your money on.

  • I agree with almost everything said

    By A3BLWX76ECB683 on 2004-09-27
This controller is great. It has very good feel for my adult hands. My only complaint is that the D-Pad registers 8 directions instead of four. For a more adept person that might be great, but I often find myself going, say, down and right when I simply meant right. If I could turn that off, I'd give it 5 stars in a heartbeat.

  • The best in the market
    By AST5UXOSBP4T3 on 2004-08-25
I have been using this for a while and this is the best cordless controller out in the market. The battery life with just 2 AA batteries is way too good. No lagging in the gameplay at all. Very Happy with this controller.

  • Best Controller
    By A2QTWB5UBAAKMC on 2004-08-25
Sorry, no technical description in this review. Just so so happy about this product.

This controller definitely doesn't insult the sensibility of the demanding gadget lover as well as gamer. My PS2's value intrinsically doubled with the addition of this option. I cannot explain how ecstatic I am about this controller in so few words.

  • Excellent - probably the best - 3rd Party Controller for PS2
    By A1FP2LA6M2OJX0 on 2005-10-17
After using Nintendo's Wavebird controllers with great success, I purchased 4 of these for our PS2 a while back. I love the lack of mess, entanglement, etc. with wireless controllers. These controllers require a little more time at the beginning of a game setting them up, particularly for 4 player action, but it is worth it. Basically, you have to establish a connection for Controller 1 with the small receiver (dongle) that plugs into the PS2, then plug the dongle for Controller 2 and do the same with each, until you have the amount you need. Did I mention that the dongle is small?! I love that feature. I mostly purchased the Logitech controllers for my kids to use, after thorough testing by myself, of course. ;)

In the end, I purchased Mad Catz 2.4ghz Controllers for my own use because I have big hands and have found they are superior for my needs. They work equally well, but have a much larger dongle, over twice the size of the Logitech one. Anyway, with the Logitech, so far so good, as far as durability is concerned.

  • My first 3rd party wireless controller
    By A11NWCTRGXGC5G on 2006-12-04
I have had this controller for about 3 days and I must say I am very impressed. After getting used to my Xbox 360 wireless controllers I decided to go wireless for the rest of my systems. Naturally I got the wavebird for gamecube and did some research on PS2 controllers. I have had my ps2 for almost 4 years and have never been a fan of the dual shock 2 controller as compared to xbox controller. This logitech controller is so much more comfortable than the dual shock controller. I have experimented with 4 different games with this controller and I must say I have not experienced any lag. I would take this controller over dual shock 2 controller any day. the shape of the controller is so comfortable, its hard to believe it is 3rd party. Sony should have had logitech design the ps3 controller. This controller does not feel cheap in any way. It is weighted very well and feels solid and sturdy. It has helped me become excited about my ps2 again. Anyone who is in the market for a wireless ps2 controller should pick this up. I did a ton of research on ps2 controllers before picking this up and found that this got the best reviews of any other wireless controller for ps2.

  • Great Product if you like buttons that stick
    By A2610Y2527CAY4 on 2005-12-16
It's true what everyone says about this controller, it is great, has good range, feels good, no lag, excellent battery life, but the buttons stick!
I bought it a week ago and the buttons stick from the beggining. I understand Logitech is aware of this problem and they will replace the unit if your buttons stick, but it doesnt matter because the unit they will replace it will also has buttons that will stick eventually since the construction is the same. My friend has this controller and his buttons also stick especially the x button (aka. the most used button in the controller) So unless you want to experience the inconvenience of sticky buttons I suggest you stay away from this controller unless you know that Logitech has corrected this problem.

  • Better than the original
    By A1BZ1WD3JF5886 on 2004-10-08
This control is perfect easy to install, fluid motion no lag time. If there is a lag it
Means the batteries are low. Better response time than the control the system came
With but with no cord to tangle and its 100% PS2 compatible.

  • It would be good if it worked consistently
    By ANOS6LW8XQ5UJ on 2005-03-20
I've owned this controller for less than 4 months, and all of a sudden, the receiver and controller aren't connecting properly. It just sits there trying to find a signal, no matter how close I move the controller to the receiver.

It used to work flawlessly. I read that sometimes other 2.4GHz devices may interrupt the signal, but I have such a device (a cordless phone) in my bedroom and it worked just fine until now.

So basically, everywhere I go people say this controller is so great, and the company Logitech provides LITTLE TO NO SUPPORT on the product. They just have documents that say how great the product is. Pathetic.

That is what bothers me the most. The fact that the company does not provide support. The darn thing DIDNT EVEN COME WITH A MANUAL.

10 thumbs down on this. I can't forgive a company that will not give adequate support for its products.

  • Buy a new one every 6 months...not built to last.
    By A2E7UUQO0286UV on 2005-12-27
I really like the freedom of this controler but I have had 3 in one years time. The buttons start to stick or the L3 or L4 sticks break off completely, it really gets old after you spend all that cash.My son has a $9.00 controler that he has had for 2 years it really makes you think about the cash you put into this stuff. I like the freedom it gives ,and I am very dissappointed in Logitech I thought they would have been more dependable.

  • GREAT
    By A310GEN59JTBDK on 2006-11-03
I bought 2 of these controllers for my kids, because I didn't want cables in the middle of our Family Room nor did I want them sitting too close to the TV when they played.
This controllers are excellent. They work perfectly, they are easy to store because of the lack of cables, the weight is fine for small children, the range of the signal is more than enough and they aren't battery eaters. I use them as well and they are wonderful.
They are much better than the ones that comes with the playstations.

  • Great wireless controller
    By A3VGMK8Z52SJ47 on 2005-10-15
This controller functions perfectly. Everything s just as advertised. We have wireless internet and cordless phones that all operate on 2.4 ghz, and I have no interference issues at all. My only complaint is that it is a little small, but I do have fairly large hands. I am thinking about buying another one.

  • seems great initially, but then it wears out very quickly
    By A4BN4TJC2KICM on 2006-05-11
I bought this controller and used it with my PS2, but it stopped working properly after just a few months. The X button started to get stuck (sunk all the way in) when I pressed it. This X button is now useless. It no longer springs back when you push it down. It stays down. I am very upset with this controller, and unfortunately, I have been unable to find another wireless controller for the PS2 that keeps working. A good friend of mine has two of these controllers and has ran into the same problem with both of them

  • VERY nice.
    By on 2004-07-20
Sure, a little pricey, but worth it. I did some online review hunting and this seemed to be the one to get. Was a little tricky finding it through Amazon's search, not sure why. It's great. Feels nice, substantial but not heavy, buttons don't feel cheap or gimmicky. I'll never go with a cable laden controller again. Never drops out, connection solid. No problems. Battery life is pretty sweet too.

  • Great except for D-pad
    By A16QL2S886W90X on 2005-01-11
This controller works great until you decide to use the D-pad. The big problem we see is that if you press the D-Pad control and you get the tactile feedback of the button clicking the push may still not register. You have to apply more pressure to the pad beyond the point at which you feel the click. As a result your control is severely handicapped since you never know if you've pressed hard enough. My 8 year old son will not use this controller because of this way the D-Pad works.

The analog joysticks are very responsive. The problem is only with the D-pad.

  • This is the wireless controller to get for the PS2 !
    By A1GWLHT83J98FN on 2005-02-27
At first I did not ever think I would need a wireless controller but after setting up my new slim PS2 in my bedroom I realized that I was working with a limited PS2 controller cord length that had to stretch across my entire bed and over a major walking path. I also had some anxious visions of someone tripping over the regular controller cord while I was playing a game which would result in my new, lighter and slimmer PS2 flying off my dresser and onto the floor. If you have children that run around where you have the PS2 console set up then using a Logitech wireless controller in place of the corded one may prevent these kinds of cord related accidents from happening. Before I made my purchase I had read the reviews here online at Amazon and I talked with a sales representative at the store. Most gamers enthusiastically recommended the Logitech wireless controller over the other brands of wireless controllers for the PS2.

PROS: Excellent design, officially licensed by Sony for the PS2, the feel including the dual shock effects and game play with the buttons is so responsive and so similar to the regular PS2 controller that you forget that you are using a Logitech wireless and not the regular PS2 controller. It eliminates the hassle of having a tangled mess of cords connected to the machine which people could trip over. It can be used as a wireless remote for playing DVDs or CDs instead of using the Sony infrared PS2/DVD remote. Everything you need including the two batteries are included in the package. When you press a button it turns-on automatically and it turns off or enters a near zero battery usage "sleep state" when it is not used. This feature extends the gameplay life of the batteries for up to fifty hours or more.

CONS: It costs more than the regular PS2 controller. A tendency to break when dropped on a hard surface has been reported by some users. If you need to use a headset for online gaming you may need to purchase a separate very expensive wireless headset device such as the newer Logitech designs (they currently cost about $80 retail). This controller uses ever popular and crowded 2.4Ghz frequency band which under certain circumstances has been reported to cause problems with other 2.4Ghz devices such as routers, cordless phones, etc.. However, I have not experienced any problems at all with the the other 2.4Ghz devices in my home such as the phone, wireless router, etc. .

CONCLUSION: This has to be one of the most satisfying purchases I have made for any video game system I have ever owned. Once you have tried one of these Logitech wireless controllers you will understand what I mean. Despite some reported problems with 2.4Ghz band devices and supposed durability issues the advantages to using one of these far out ways the negatives. If you are really paranoid about its durability or you have children that are rough with the PS2 controllers then simply get a 2 or 3 year extented warranty and service contract for about a $10 extra cost from your local electronics chain where you make this wireless controller purchase.

The bottom line...FIVE STARS ! I very highly recommend this item for all PS2 owners.

  • Good for a wile
    By A1H7DTS6J0N6SO on 2005-03-16
When I first got this controller in early Jan. '05 I loved it for all the reasons given in these reviews, but now after having it for a few months it has become exceedingly frustrating. The first problem was the R1 button would occasionally stick, then the up button on the d pad, which I only use for menu selection and not during game play, began to work sporadically. Now the R1 button sticks 90% of the time it is used and recently the controller lost it's signal during game play with no way to control, pause etc. I have since switched back to the standard controller that has over 4 years of aggressive game play with not so much as hint of a problem. I would strongly discourage anyone from wasting there $30 on this controller!

  • SPEECHLESS.....but I'll give it a try anyway!!
    By A222KTVHZTLX0Y on 2005-04-14
What can I say!?! This is the BEST toy I've bought for myself. I originally wanted it not only for it's marvellous distance capabilities, but because I have a puppy who does NOT like to be two inches away from me!! Everytime he ran across the floor, SLIP went the cord...So when I finally received this glorious exemplery piece of engineering, I was blown back by all the greatness that came along with it!

First of all, no one will actually need the 30ft range this bad boy provides. It was a bit overzealous i believe to add that feature, but friggin sweet nonetheless. Like they say, "better to have it and not need it, than need it and not have it..."

Second, I was quite surprised to find the two AA batteries included in the packaging. That is always a nice gift.

Third, and I base this on extensive research and not necessarily experience, the base of the signal port that connects to the actual console does not protrude offensively beyond a standard size memory card. In fact, it may very well be shorter than the standart plug in port for the Playstation wired controller that comes with the console.

The buttons feel like any other Logitech device I've owned, stiff and sturdy, but not hard or too wabbly and slippery and not sticky at all, which is a nice feature when playing games that demand quick reflexes and massive button smashing!! They provide a pleasant surface area and are not too big.

The ONLY complaint I have is that the D-pad is webbed. I personally am quite fond of the separated d-pad buttons on the Playstation controller included with the system simply because my main game of choice is Fighting games (Tekken, Street Fighter, etc), and the webbed plastic between each direction (up, down, left, right) causes some confusions as to whether or not I've landed the correct direction accurately to execute a move. Sadly, it has caused me a few defeats already...

I've yet to experience any time-lags, but with the 2.4ghz signal, I don't think it's even possible. Wireless routers and modems are just as strong, and those devices range in the near hundreds of dollars.

This product is a cool, slick designed masterpiece that should not be overlooked by the avid gamer. Exceptional engineering and kicking features that should blow you away. GET ONE NOW!!!

  • Wireless controller
    By A2R7LD9PB2O06V on 2005-09-28
I have owned several wireless controllers. They have all broke within a matter of weeks. This controller is by far the best I have ever owned. Good job on a great product....

  • Greatest PS2 Controller
    By AMY8GS74R6UQC on 2005-10-14
The Logitech Wireless controller is by far the greatest PS2 controller I have ever bought.
Before I bought two official Sony PS2 Dualshock 2 controllers and they both worked fine, then one started to press buttons by itself and therefor this caused a problem when I was playing Socom 2 and 3. Then I saw the Logitech Wirless Controller and I fell in love, I loved the design but didn't buy it cause it cost $40.00. After time of torture I went to amazon.com and they gave me the best special, this site made my day. This controller is only $29.99 its worth every penny.
The part I love the most is that the controller fits perfectly in anyone's hand and there's no lag what so ever, and the Sleep mode is a great way to conserve battery life which enables the controller to turn off after 5 minutes of not being used.
The Square, Triangle, X, and circle buttons work perfectly as for every button including the analogs. The material used to make these controllers work Great!!
If you want the best of the best choose the Logitech Wireless controller.

  • Great WireLESS controller
    By A11ZFCGVYL102A on 2004-08-11
BEST wireless controller nothing came close to the Logitech Cordless Action Controller. Good size for extended hour gameplay. Very good range no lagging. Highly recommended

  • Best wireless controller for PS2
    By A38AEJOCYSOE4A on 2004-12-05
I've wanted a wireless controller for some time now, and tried the ones from Mad Catz and another brand, mostly because they were cheaper. I'd have been better off buying this straightaway and saving money on those "bargains."

Wireless controllers generally have lag and dropped signals. You try to make a turn in a racing game... and you ram into the wall. You try to fight the boss monster... and you stand there while hea whales on you. Stuff like that. With the Logitech, none of that happens.

The advantages of a wireless are countless. Some are obvious; others, more subtle. My main application is MMORPGs on the PS2, and having to put down a controller to type means that the cords get tangled. Worse, if I put the controller on the floor to run to the kitchen or answer the phone, I inevitably trip over the cord. (Admit it. You do too.) If I have a cat on my lap during gaming, he gets tangled in the cord too. And if i's particularly cold (I turn the heat down to 55 to save gas), I can be huddled in a sleeping bag but my hands have to be outside to work the controller, as the cord won't stretch that far.

$40 later, everything is solved. I just toss the controller on a pillow while typing or making food. My cat has no dangly things to annoy or interest him. And I can wrap completely up in a nice warm bag, the controller in with me, only my head sticking out!

As a controller, it's better than the original equipment; the buttons and joysticks have a good feel to them, and the grips are a little larger than the Sony units. Actually that's one of my only complaints: Larger still would have been better, and I'd have loved to have found a rubberized grip. Furthermore, I dread the day when I misplace it and have to find it-- borrowing a page from the cordless phone whose technology this uses and putting in a "locate chirper" would have pushed this one over the top into the realm of Killer Products. (You can add an aftermarket signaller, meant to find remote controls and keys. I think The Sharper Image sells one, and you can of course look on Amazon.com.)

I ought to point out that this automatically qualifies for Amazon's free shipping-- it doesn't sell for any less in retail stores, so this is the place to buy it.

Can't say anything about battery life; I haven't used it that long. And the distance I have been using it at is less than ten feet, so if you're an across-the-room gamer you might have issues. (To be fair, the other controllers were spotty even at a three-foot range.) And there might be problems if you use more than one wireless controller (though there is a channel change button on the front of the receiver which plugs into your PS2). Finally, when I buy an Xbox wirelss controller (and I will, the PS2 one sold me) it'll be hard telling them apart; the controllers are like the Model T, "any color as long as it's black." Choice of color might be something to think about.

As it is, though, it definitely earns its five stars. I have seldom been so pleased with a product. Logitech will be my first choice for future peripherals.

  • Wireless Router Users Beware!!!
    By AWASMSFK9ZSXS on 2005-02-09
This is a great controller. But if you have a wireles router in your house, or if a nearby neighbor has one, there's a good chance this controller won't work. Both this controller and a wireless router (like linksys or D-link) work on 2.4 ghz frequency, which means that the router interfears with the wireless connectivity of this contoller. It'd be nice if Logitech made a controller that utilized a different frequency, but they don't. I experienced lag that was so bad, it made my games unplayable. But as soon as I turned off my router, the contoller worked fine, so I know that it was the router that was causing the problem. It broke my heart because this is a fine controller with rave reviews. Just a heads up.

  • Until Sony cuts the cord, this is the best you can get
    By A27YUZ4HZHPWUU on 2005-04-16
I am generally leery of using third party accessories for my video game systems, but I am making the sacrifice for this controller. I don't think it is possible to fully realize how nice it is to have a wireless controller until you use one. You don't have to look at ugly cords hanging from the system when you leave your controller on the floor. If you have kids, it's a necessity because they love to pull/sit on/trip over cords that are hanging around while you're playing. I would love to see Sony make their own cordless controller, but until they do, this is the best one available, and I have tried several.

One of the biggest selling points for me is the D-pad. Every other third party controller I have ever used has an inferior D-pad...they generally tend to insist on making one big D-pad instead of dividing it into four separate buttons like the Sony controller. This results in errors - when you push up, you move right or left half the time. This isn't a huge issue with many games since the D-pad is not used much. But there are some games (Tony Hawk, fighting games) where the D-pad is essential. This one does the job just fine. Which is great, because I got sick of having to switch controllers every time I wanted to play Tony Hawk.

One thing to note - there is an earlier version of this controller that you might find someone trying to sell. Do not buy the older version. Everything I said about the D-pad is not true about the older version. In fact, it has one of the worst D-pads I have ever seen. It uses more batteries, the analog sticks do not have good grip on them, it is HUGE so it may be difficult to use if you have small hands, and the receiver is just a pain (...)because it has a cord attached to it.

  • Excellent range, performance, and battery life
    By A21P8800ZGRGIP on 2005-11-25
This is without question the best controller I've had for the PS2. It looks and feels pretty much just the same as a standard Sony controller, but the wireless performance is fantastic, and It's still on the first set of batteries that I put in it about 4 months ago- even with an average of about 3-6 hours of gaming for about 5 days a week. It should be noted that I turn the vibration function off, which supposedly makes the batteries last MUCH longer. So far this seems to be true. The controller goes into sleep mode if you go 5 or 10 minutes without pressing anything so batteries are conserved that way as well.

The performance is outstanding. In our room, the PS2 system is fully blocked from plain view by a large bedpost, and therefore the wireless receiver is blocked along with it. Yet this controller still works, with no stalling whatsoever, even though it's blocked by a solid object (and even if I don't point the controller anywhere near the receiver). In fact, the controller has passed the ultimate test I could give it. My girlfriend often sleeps while I stay awake at night to play the PS2. The buttons are a bit clicky, so to not wake her up I've folded a blanket on top of me to muffle the sound. Yet the controller still works perfectly as well as a connected one. Under a thickly wadded blanket, from ten feet away, with an object in front of the receiver. The controller STILL works. I just have to make sure the receiver senses the controller at first, and then I'm free to move around with no problems at all.

This is the best wireless controller I've had for a system, period. It's just as solid as a default Sony PS2 controller but with the addition of full, forgiving wirelessness. I haven't had a single issue or problem with it, and if I can play it under a thick blanket, with the receiver blocked, without even pointing the thing at the system, I can't imagine that it won't meet anyone's gaming needs. I swear by this one and won't get another wireless brand again. In fact, I've since bought the Logitech wireless Xbox controller, and though I've only had it for a couple weeks, I'm getting the same results. Fine build from what looks to be a solid company. Definitely reccommended.

Great controller, works all of the time w/o any issues. My only gripe is that I can't turn off the controller to save the batteries. That would be nice. So far I've had to replace them twice, I just have to remember to remove them if I'm not going to play for a while.

The only other thing is that the receiver was/is designed for the older play station. It tends to be a bit thicker than it needs to be for the slim version and it raises it up just a little.

  • Logitech PS2 controller can't take the punishment of the original dual shock ps2

I bought this controller--I actually own two of them, one for my U.S. PS2 and the other for my Japanese PS2--and the one I used for my US PS2 stopped working properly after just a few months. It happened after playing Kingdom Heart II for a second time. The X button started to get stuck (sunk all the way in) when I needed it the most. This X button is now useless, for it does not longer spring back when you push it down. It stays down.

I have been playing games PS1, PS2, Xbox, and Gamecube, and I have never seen a controller behaving so badly after just a few usages.

I will not and cannot recommend this wireless at all. Now I need to replace it, but I can't find any other brand or company which will satisfy me.

I am glad that Sony itself will deliver a new controller (not the bumerang controller) ,which is wireless for the PS3. I think that even the wireless Xbox 360 controller is better than this junk.
