Best Price: $17.99 $15.49
LeapFrog's Fridge Farm can be played with on the fridge or on the floor. Toddlers will love mixing and matching the animal pieces to make more than 25 wacky combinations. With each mix or match, children are introduced to animal names, sounds, fun facts and lively learning songs. There's also a Farmer Tad music button that plays five banjo tunes. When play time is done, the magnetic pieces store on the barn. The carrying handle makes it easy to tote. Requires 3 "AAA" alkaline batteries (included) and includes an automatic-shutoff feature. Moo! Oink! Bow-wow! Toddlers from one to five years old will love making wacky animal combinations with this LeapFrog Magnetic Animal set. This toy teaches kids all about animals, as it plays learning songs, fun facts, and sounds. Toddlers can make up to 25 combinations with this magnetic puzzle, and it can be played with on the refrigerator or floor. When two matching pieces are inserted into the farm, a cheerful electronic voice says the animal name. If the pieces mismatch, the toy creates a silly name for that animal. Matches are positively reinforced and the toy makes mismatches seem funny rather than wrong. When set to music mode, Farmer Tad plays five banjo tunes for a real barnyard hoe-down. Down on the Farm The Fridge Farm is a great set to travel with. All pieces store on the back of the barn and a carry handle allows easy transport from place to place. The toy's resilient construction withstands wear and tear and holds up nicely to rough child play. With this toy's open-ended format toddlers can create any hilarious combination they choose. It features strong magnets to keep it from falling off the fridge and a lightweight construction so the child can carry the fun from room to room. A handy volume switch keeps the music at an enjoyable level. This toy is easy for little fingers to manage and convenient for parents to store. It requires three AAA batteries (included). Fun Award-Winning Features The fridge farm encourages creativity, as your child mixes, matches, and makes zany animals. Bright colors and lively animal songs make the Fridge Farm a family favorite. Loved by parents and their children, this award-winner is both educational and fun. In 2004, it received the prestigious Oppenheim Toy Portfolio Gold Seal Award. Superior quality, easy-to-grasp pieces, and lively banjo tunes make it a great addition for any toddler's toy box. What's in the Box Barnyard, 5 animal pieces, and 3 AAA batteries.

A must-have! By A1YOVVUTDI3E6E on 2004-09-07
I bought this toy for my then-16-month old son who loves to play with magnets on the fridge. This set comes with five animals in two pieces, head and tail, per animal. What I liked about this toy is that it reinforces when a match has been made, BUT if a child isn't developmentally able to do that yet, it makes up a name for the animal the child has "created" by mismatching the tail and head (for example, a "sheep-cow"). I liked that it saw a mismatch as silly rather than wrong... good for very little ones who have low frustration levels. This is a quality toy, with clear sound and easy-to-grasp pieces... I'm a picky person when it comes to toys, and I highly recommend this one!
This Is A Great One By A3DWXVGOE2XZIQ on 2004-09-11
This one has just about everything....positive reinforcement, silliness, no mouthing hazard, sticks on the refrigerator (or on a metal clipboard in the car), bright colors for the littles, lots of ways to play, yet inexpensive and likely to last a long time. This is excellence in toy making!
Cute, Fun, My Kids Love It! By AD2FA2VAQYO7T on 2004-10-26
My 2-year old received this as a gift for her birthday. She loves it. At first, her favorite part was just pressing the "Farmer Leap" button so that she could dance to the music, but then she realized that it was a "puzzle" and started putting animal pieces in. I thought it would be great because even if she got the wrong animals put together, it would still sing a "silly" song for her. But to my surprise, she only likes to put the animals together the correct way. My 4-year old, however, thinks its funny to put the animals together the incorrect way. They both love it, and the 4-year old enjoys listening to the animal facts - even though she knew most of them already. They also like to carry it around like it's a portable radio, and listen to the music and dance.
For those parents that might be concerned as I was, about the strength of the magnets holding up the weight of this toy on the fridge - don't worry! It really sticks well! I thought it would be falling off constantly, but unless the kids are REALLY yanking/pushing/pulling on it, it stays put. Yet, the handle makes it easy enough for them to remove by themselves if they want to take it elsewhere. Also, it has two levels of volume.
Our family loves this toy!
We LOVE this Toy! By AWB34LTCFCVWH on 2004-10-05
My son likes to be in the kitchen when I am cooking dinner. We have a very small kitchen so he is often under my feet. I asked for this for his 2nd birthday and he LOVES it. I haven't even made it to the fridge with it because he hasn't stopped playing with it. I think that this is a great toy because even if they make a "wrong" match it still plays the little song it's not like they did anything bad. He also loves to dance to the Farmer Tad music. I bought this toy and so did my mom so we have two but it is so great I am going to give the other to my friend with a two year old instead of taking it back...a real find!
Great fun for both my kids By A3DC7Y9HO0C457 on 2004-11-02
This toy was a gift for my youngest on her first birthday. And she loves it....but so does my three year old! The two of them sit together at the fridge, switching out the magnets and singing the cute songs together. It's a fabulous toy and the volume control is much appreciated bonus feature for this mom. My kids and I would recommend this toy!
- A MUST HAVE FOR BUSY COOKING PARENTS!
     By A1TZ02VYKXHVFU on 2005-11-17
I'm a single parent and doing anything in the kitchen is a major obstacle when my 2 year old son wants to unload the cabinets, slam the doors, run around in the living room, bother the dog etc. Since he has recieved this for his birthday I have not had one problem working freely in the kitchen. I mean I was able to make dinner and wash the dishes (which took about 45 minutes) without hearing one peep from him. He was in the same room as me, so I was completely worry free in the kitchen WHICH IS RARE!!! IT'S GREAT! He wants to stay in the kitchen and play with it, so I don't have to worry about him running a muck outside the kitchen area or bothering the dog. I do keep an eye to make sure he's not throwing the pieces in the garbage, but it's better then having to check on him every other second outside of the kitchen area. It has two volumes which he knows how to use. This is a fantastic toy and I hope they come out with more. BUT A WARNING TO PARENTS: The magnets are super strong and cling hard to anything metallic. If your child throws them etc they can end up stuck under the fridge, stove or on the sides. If you think you've lost one just look in those places first. It has happened to me and my friend before.
- Worth its weight in gold

This toy is great. It is inexpensive, educational, fun for my daughter(15 mos. old), and best of all it keeps her occupied so I can get dinner made and the dishes done without her trying to "help"! A must for every kitchen with a kid. Even my 4 year old nephew has fun with it. I am now addicted to Leap Frog toys!
- great multi level toy
     By ARCXC9JBKJ4MM on 2004-10-17
This toy was a gift for my one year old. He can't quite work it without help yet, but enjoys the tunes and looking at the animals. His three year old brother already had the fridge letter game (fabulous) and now he plays with this one, too. The game has cool facts about each animal after the silly song plays. A++ for education factor.
- WE I LOVE IT!!!
     By A1HCPM6GPMSOZD on 2004-10-05
I purchased this for my 20 month old. He can't seem to put it down, he gets a kick when he mixes up the animals. Great quality, which I am not surprised coming from Leap Frog. Highly Recommend........
- great toy broke after 1month and no help from company
     By A1BPWRLBH4P3WY on 2004-12-07
My daughter got this for her first birthday in August. It is a great idea as she could play with it while I was working in the kitchen. However, after only a month, three of the five back sides of the animals would no longer activate the music and phrases(now, four months later only one works). I called Leap Frog in October and notated whom I spoke with. I was told that it sounded like a few of the parts were defective and that since this was a new toy, could I call back in about six weeks to see if they had replacement parts for it yet? And I am supposed to explain that to my 14 month old child! I had a defective Fisher Price toy and contacted their customer service department and received a voucher for the purchase of a toy of equal value. As much as my daughter loves this toy, I am very hesitant to buy her any other Leap Frog products because they may just be a waste of my money weeks later. If Leap Frog can't afford to send me a new $16.00 product, they may not be in business for much longer...
- A great toy - I wish it had more pieces, but my child loves it.
     By A213MNNCABU95F on 2005-11-29
As my son has grown he's switched from playing with the animal pieces to playing the farm/country song button. These are songs that should be familiar to anyone. It's nice for him to have some music on demand. But when he was playing with the animal magnets, I found myself thinking it would have been better with 1) more animals and 2) better/more accurate coloring of those animals.
I like that it has positive reinforcement when a match is made and even when one is not (kids love coming up with goofy matches). The volume switch is handy as kids toys are always way too loud.
The magnets are strong and it will provide a lot of fun for your child.
- Very Cute!

We had bought the fridge phonics for our 3 year old and she and my 1 year old loved them. Though they seemed a little over my 1 year old so when I saw this I knew it would be perfect. The noises are you so cute. He seems to like it a lot. Plus I thought it was reasonably priced, which is always great!
- A favorite!

What a smart toy! My daughter received this for her first birthday and we love it! She can't quite get the pieces in the right places yet, but she loves the music and the animal noises. Every morning she brings it over to me to play with her. We love that we can magnet all the pieces together or onto the fridge. This toy is also very educational - it teaches colors, fine motor skills, animal recognition, animal sounds and it tells you a fact about each farm animal.
- I love Leap Frog!

My daughter received this and the Fridge Phonics as gifts for her first birthday. She loves the music on both, but is able to put the pieces in this one herself. I love that it has magnets on the back to store the pieces when its not on the fridge. It allows exploration by rewarding "creative" play, and teaches about colors, animals, sounds, and music.
- adorable and original

My daughter got this for her 1st birthday and it's the toy she plays with the most. She dances to it and loves arranging the magnets on the farm and the fridge. It's awesome!
- Wonderful for 1+
     By A2RODT7X53PN3H on 2006-01-04
My daughter received this for her first birthday and it was a hit straight off!!!! At first, she could not position the animal halves in the toy, but there were still buttons for her to push that held her interest. Now that she is almost two, it remains a favorite. She knows all the right animal sounds and even finds it hilarious when she mixes and matches animal parts and gets a funny song.
I would recommend this for anyone looking for a good first birthday present. It is the best in its price range.
- The best magnets for infants.
     By A1SGUP2MQZUZFY on 2004-08-07
I have been looking for magnetic toys for my 1 year old daughter to play on the fridge while I cook. All the ones I had found had the magnets glued to the back, and they could come unglued and cause a chocking hazard. This set has the magnets inside! It also is easy for her to remove and change the animals around!! Way to go leap frog!
- My toddler is obsessed!
     By A208U42GARHSOR on 2005-01-21
Of all the gifts my daughter received this Christmas, she loves her magnetic Leap Frog Fridge Farm the most. She stands in front of the fridge dancing to the music and laughing/squealing and cries when she has to leave the toy.
The music and speaking voice are pleasant (and usually are from Leap Frog, in our experience) and not overly loud. It's light enough that she can take it off the fridge and carry it around but heavy enough so it stays in place. If I had another magentized surface, like a desk or interior door, I would buy another for her.
I bought this as a distraction so I could do work in the kitchen. She enjoys playing with the toy more than opening cupboards and she's so transfixed by it that she stays in one place where I can watch her.
She is also younger than the recommended age; my daughter is 16 mo. and I find the toy we have to be perfectly safe and age-appropriate for her use.
- Love it love it love it!

I bought this for my son for Christmas 2004, when he was 20 mo. old. As soon as he opened it and saw the different animals, he was wanting to play with it! He loves the easy to hold shapes, and likes to match the animals halves - and loves to mismatch them!
For myself, I like the volume control :) All kidding aside, it's an important thing to have! It has a switch with "off" "low" and "high" positions. I also like that each animal is a different color, helping the little ones match them more easily.
It's also nice that inside the fridge isn't the most interesting thing in the kitchen anymore! Instead of begging me to open the fridge so he can peek around, he plays with his fridge toys.
In addition to the Farm set, we also got the Alphabet set, which is also great. (and with volume controls!) Buy this one - buy the alphabet one! You won't be disappointed with either!
- The Best Toy
     By A3TPKOUMCNOPWL on 2005-02-26
This is a definate must have. We have every toy in the book at our house. This one has by far been the most played with. My girls, ages 1, 3, and 5, all play with it. It has a cute song it plays, being on the fridge it needs to be not annoying...its not. A definate winner in our book for girls or boys.
- Lots of fun
     By A10K01YO6HWFQU on 2005-12-04
This adorable farm set if cute and very safe. It's great fun with songs and animal sounds for the very young (and safe) and cute for older kids when you create your own animal. Great toy for toddler with an infant in the house, too. Careful, it will moo if you leave it unattended, a fun surprise!!
- Fun and ecuational
     By A30BCRSABL9AYI on 2006-01-22
We've had this for a year now and our year old still enjoys playing with this while in the kitchen with me while I'm cooking dinner. With this she learns not only the colors of the animals, what the animals are themselves but also matching skills. When she matches the front of a cow with behind of a pig it was play the same and say something along the lines of "A cow-sheep? You're silly" with a little laugh. Tad (the frog at the top) also plays music. A side benefit to this is the fact that because it's fun it keeps her all too helpful little hands away from the dishes and hot stove. Definitely worth the money.
- WONDERFUL TOY!
     By A1ZTZLCU222JPC on 2006-02-14
My son got this over a year ago (Christmas 2004). He was 6 months old. He didnt play with it yet although we had it available and we did it for him. As he got older he'd play more and more. He is 21 months old (almost) and he LOVES IT! He carries it around the house and knows the songs and noises they make ans smiles so huge at it.
I love how its not negative. You dont ever do something wrong... you just do something silly. I love that positive reinforcement!
It still works perfectly. In fact I replaced the batteries for the second time yesterday. Yup... Its played with A LOT during the day and its batteries were only replaced 2 times in over a year! You cant say that about many toys!
my next son (due in June) will hopefully get to use the same one and if need be, we'll buy another one because this is a great toy!
- Clarification - there are 5 animals
     By A2Q52UI31P4QFN on 2004-09-18
Just to clarify a previous review - there are 5 animals (each in 2 pieces): a cow, a horse, a sheep, a duck, and a pig. Incredibly durable (has endured several tantrums on the kitchen floor, not at all related to the toy). Fun songs that always get my toddler dancing. Educational (a few fun facts about each animal) and silly too (can make up any animal combination you can imagine)!
- If your child loves music then buy this
     By A1V74JIS4KAWI2 on 2004-10-31
I bought this for my daughter when she was 16 months, and she loves it!! She loves to bee bop to the music that plays when you push the Tad character. She is too young to understand how to fit the pieces together, but she tries. Eventually she'll get it and then she'll have other musical surprises for each combination she makes. I can't wait to see her reaction! She can play with this for a long time.
- Great Toy
     By A5L12FXXPVB29 on 2004-11-05
I got the Fridge Farm for my 13 month old son. The sounds and music just attracts him to this toy. He seems to really enjoy all his leapfrog toys.
- Great entertainment

My daughter has had this toy since she was 10 mo old and absolutely loves it! She laughes at the mis matches and claps with the tune. We have given it as a birthday gift many times!
- another great leapfrog product
     By A29IKNSY3PZJOY on 2005-09-30
i bought this for my daughter when she was a little over two. she always wanted to play with the fridge magnets while in the kitchen and ended up braking a couple. so i thought i'll get her her own magnets. we all love this toy. it is so much fun. teaches facts about animals when two matching pieces are put together and when two non-matching pieces are but together i laughs and call the anime for example a cow-duck. our younger one who is now 10 months old also enjoys this game. the pieces are very light weight and stick eaisly to the fridge. definitely a must have if your looking for something fun for your little one in a place where there usually aren't any toys around.
- A toy we ALL enjoy!
     By A1R7P2Y1MDBKAV on 2005-12-01
My son received this toy for his first birthday and it was an instant hit in our house. My four year-old likes to mismatch the animals on purpose to hear the silly song and her brother dances and laughs. It keeps him occupied while I make dinner and when it's time to put it away, it moves to the top of the refrigerator and only comes down when it needs to. It covers animal names, sounds, colors and fun songs-perfect for a one year-old. I plan on purchasing this toy for other toddlers to enjoy.
