Fisher Price Learning Homex$86.99
    (458 reviews)
Best Price: $86.99
Baby loves crawling through the big blue front door into a two-sided playhouse that encourages exploration of everyday activities and introduces the alphabet and numbers. With soothing music, traditional sing-a-long songs and sounds, the Fisher-Price Laugh and Learn Learning Home with shape-sorter and two interactive play modes makes the experience of learning a joy. Baby will learn from cause and effect activities and be rewarded for taking risks. It measures 29" x 22" x 32 and it requires 3 "C" batteries, which are not included.
There’s no one in the world busier than babies and toddlers. But even the most curious and active little explorer may have met their match with this entertaining two-sided play house. On the "outdoor" side, there are doorbell chimes, a rolling garden display, a flower that grows, a mailbox for letters, a sun and moon dial, and more. "Indoor" features include a light switch and a singing clock. There are 21 songs, all of which are easily heard, electronic, and activated by touching, tweaking, or pulling parts of the play set. Our favorite component involved dropping balls down a water spout to hear the itsy-bitsy spider song. --Charlie Williams

Great bang for your buck! So many activities! By A1D881T2KGSRUJ on 2004-07-12
Wow! This is a new Fisher Price toy that I hadn't heard of before - but knew I had to have it when I saw it. My daughter loves to crawl in and out of things, so I thought this would be a great floor level toy that might keep her interest. This was purchased for her first birthday and I think we are still discovering new buttons and such! There are so many activities and interesting things on this toy that I think the price was a real bargain! The house numbers, the rain gutter, the radio, the clock, the window, the mailbox, etc, etc! There are sounds for nearly every activity, and even the sounds can be changed depending upon what setting the radio is on. My daughters current favorite place in the "house" is the mail box. She loves putting the mail in and out of it. She gets very excited and just chatters away at this toy - crawling in and out of the door and listening as it "creaks" open and then "slams" shut. The toy overall seems to focus mostly on the concept of opposites (night/day, up/down, open/close, etc) and numbers. There are two volume settings - the lower one being just loud enough for her to hear it while she is playing (thank you Fisher Price!) and the other much louder. On the lower setting, I cannot hear it unless I am sitting at the toy with her. I just can't say enough about all the activites - I expect that this will be a toy she can play with for a long time without getting bored of it!
The perfect toy By A1VF0JFVQJ7YYF on 2004-08-04
I wanted to get my little one a toy that could help her pull up and stand. Her first birthday is just a few days away. So a month ago we all went out to Toys R Us to see what she would like. I was alittle upset because there were many toys that I wanted to get her. But I knew they would fall once she tried to use them to stand. My little girl also only likes toys that make music or talk. I found many little toys to get her. BUT I wanted one that she could pull herself up and that she could walk around the toy. I saw this house and after looking at the picture on the box I pulled it off the shelf. After reading about the toy, I wanted it. It was just what I was looking for. We put it back on the shelf and put it on the birthday list. The next weekend I couldnt wait. It was so perfect I needed to get it. I went to two different Toys R Us's. Both were sold out. This is the hotest toy out there right now. I found it at a Babies R Us. I got it home and rolled my eyes. SCREWS... I thought that meant it was going to be hard to put together. Not true though. It took me about a half hour to put together. MY little girl loves it. My 8 year old son likes it as well. It is worth the money. There is so much to do and hear in this toy. I have noticed that my little one twice got her wrist stuck between the house and door. This didnt hurt her. She cried because she could move her arm. She has now learned how to push the door when this happens and doesnt cry. There is plenty of space between the door and house so that it doesnt hurt. This is a great well thought out toy. A must for all.
Awesome Toy By A1EDGNL3BE6R8B on 2004-08-08
I bought this for my daughter on her first birthday and she absolutely LOVES it! I also bought the bird bath to go with it and am currently looking for the telephone that goes with it also. It's great to see a toy today where you can add accessories to it that enhance to their learning experience. She will literally play with this toy for hours. There are SO MANY activities that keep her busy and she rarely gets bored. There is always something new to discover. And by the time she's finished with one side, she finds out there is a whole other side with things to do. I got tired of spending alot of money on big toys that didn't do very much. It is worth every penny. I highly recommend this toy.
Dont get ripped off - $65.00 at a leading toy retailer By AU4MX7JJH3PMA on 2006-10-11
A great toy - just bought it for my daughter but don't buy it here!
pretty good By A1OG10G2FMLSGU on 2004-08-26
I bought this toy for my 12 month old. It was simple to assemble and only took about 10 minutes. Once the toy was turned on, it almost seemed to do too much. Sometimes my kids would rather keep it turned off and play. The songs are cute but can get a little annoying after a while. The sound effects are great! Especially the opening and closing of the door which works perfectly with the door movements. That impressed me most. Although my baby can walk, she loves to crawl back and fourth through the door over and over. I think she feels in control when she can shut the door on her sister. And there's no way to pinch fingers in this door! I think it would have been nice if the clock could actually give the correct time as the hands are moved. It just makes ticking noises. However, the house numbers on the opposite side do tell the correct numbers when they are turned. This is a neat feature and can reassure my 2 1/2 year old when she names her numbers. My 7 year old announced that we were missing the phone. I questioned it and she showed me an empty spot where the phone goes. This has to be bought separately. Also, there is a spot for the Laugh & Learn dog to sit next to the dog dish. She also informed me that the dog needed to be bought too for the toy to have it's maximum value of fun. I wish that the key was attached to the door like in the picture on the box, but mine wasn't. (Another thing my 7 year old pointed out!) I'm also afraid the colored shapes will get misplaced too. This toy is action-packed with lots of activities so it will hold a child's attention for quite a while. I do think this toy is slighty overpriced but overall, the toy has more positives than negatives and will provide a lot of fun-filled memories.
- A must have! Worth every penny!!!

Like many of the other parents I was worried about buying this toy for my 1 year old, considering that it's usually the cheapest and most simple things that seem to keep her occupied and happy for hours...Why buy a big expensive toy that may or may not be fun for her? I took the advice of those of you who shared your reviews and got it for her first B-day. This toy is the BEST!!! Thank you!!!
She loves it and I love it! I am very impressed with the quality! The sounds and music are wonderful! There is so much to do and to learn. She loves to play with it on her own, and it's a great toy to play with your child as well. Some of the things we do together is I will put the mail in the mail box and say "You've got mail" She gets excited and opens the mail box with a big SMILE and brings it over to me to read. Every time I make up a new story, she loves it! We practice putting the shapes in the door and in the right spots at the top of the house. She loves to crawl through the door way and play peek-a-boo by opening and closing the door. I am running out of room for this review so I will just say that everything about this toy is GREAT!!! - would suggest highly

i bought this for my son for his birthday. i was a little worried about buying it because i was afraid he might not like it and we would be stuck with a 70 dollar room ornament. so not the way it was. my son couldn't wait for me to put it together. he got in trouble several times because he kept trying to play with the unfinished product. assembly was kind of a pain because he wouldn't leave it alone, but he loves it. he plays with it so much that i know all the songs. it's educational for so many reasons and it takes up so much of his attention. he learns a new function of it every day. i highly suggest getting this, its worth the money.
- Tons of Laughs and Lots of Learning
     By A2QPVMTLNKJU8W on 2004-10-16
Let me just say that this is one of the best toys we have bought and not a surprise that is a success from Fisher-Price.
I received an ad with the Laugh & Learn Learning Home and I decided I wanted to buy it as soon as my son learned to crawl. Luckily we didn't wait that long. I think this toy is fine as early as a baby that is sitting up well on their own.
The night we bought it we came home and started putting it together. My son was sitting next to us with toys to play with. But once this toy started taking shape we had to fight him off just to finish. It was not hard to put together - I think one person could do it easily.
The toy has two sides. One represents the outside of the house with a mailbox that opens, a flower that spins, a dial on the ground with bugs and flowers on it, house numbers that rotate, a doorbell that works and a ball drop. The inside of the house has a radio that plays, a "phonebook" that flips pages, a working light switch and a clock. From both sides you can access the sun/moon dial, the swinging door and the window. So much to do! And each thing has sounds, songs and voices.
If you flip the radio to the voice then it responds with each thing the child plays with. Example: flip the light switch on and the voice says "lights on." The light actually turn on! If you put the radio on music then it responds to each thing with an appropriate song like the counting song when you turn the hands of the clock. Plus, if the child pushes the buttons on the radio they get radio settings like a weather or traffic report.
The entire toy runs on three "C" batteries. We have had this a few weeks now and with all the noises and songs and play it gets the batteries are holding up fine.
It is light and mobile. It has a handle on top so it is easy to move from room to room. We move it actually to get it out of site as it gets closer to his bedtime. Otherwise he would just keep playing with it.
I think this toy will last a while. Right now he sits and plays with it and crawls through the door to get to his father and then to get to me. But as he gets older and starts imaginary play I am sure that this will get even more use. It is about 30" tall (guess). He can hold himself up and he likes to sway with the music.
I can find little wrong with the toy. I have read before that someone thought toys should make a predictable sound when a child presses something. If you are in that school of thought then this would be a con for this toy. Each setting (voice and music) has at least two responses to each action the child makes (opening the door, turning the number dial, etc.) Also, there is a "seat" on the base that is too small for a child's behind but seems to have little other use. It would have been a good place for just one more toy because at this point it has not visual or action use.
- LOVE IT IT TOO CUTE. BUT MAILBOX WILL HURT LITTLE FINGERS
     By A28N6VBRFYJXBP on 2004-10-12
I ABSOLUTELY LOVED THIS TOY WHEN WE BROUGHT IT HOME FOR OUR DAUGHTER. SHE IS NOW 7 1/2 MONTHS OLD. I DID NOT SEE ANYTHING THAT SHE COULD GET HURT ON PLAYING WITH THIS UNTIL I WAS LOADING THE WASHER IN THE OTHER ROOM AND HEARD HER START CRYING, SILLY ME, I TOLD HER I WILL BE RIGHT THERE TO HOLD YOU JUST A MINUTE. I COME IN THE ROOM TO FIND HER FINGERS STUCK IN THE MAIL SLOT OF THE MAIL BOX LID, BENT BACKWARDS AND PURPLE!! I SHUT THE LID A LITTLE AND PULLED OUT HER FINGERS. I THEN PLACED MINE IN IT THE SAME WAY, WITH THE DOOR SHUT, PLACE YOUR FINGERS STRAIGHT IN THE MAIL SLOT OPENING AND PULL DOWN, IT HURTS!! YOU CANNOT GET YOUR FINGERS OUT, UNLESS YOU KNOW WHAT YOU ARE DOING.I DID REPORT THIS TO FISHER PRICE AND THEY GAVE ME A PREPAID POSTAGE LABEL TO MAIL IT BACK AND THEY ARE GIVING ME A FULL REFUND OF 69.99. I WILL BE SAD TO SEE THIS GO, BUT UNTIL THE MAILBOX IS CHANGED IT WON'T BE IN OUR HOUSE ANYLONGER.
- Great FUN!!!!
     By A39XSYT791SKDH on 2004-08-29
My son just got this gift yesterday for his 1st birthday and he loves it!! But so does his sister, who is 3 years old and cousins that are 3 and 5 years old. They were having so much fun with it. The mail is a lot of fun and then there is the way the door creeks when it is opened. My son loves that feature. So all in all GREAT BUY!!
thanks!!
- This is the best toy we have bought yet!!!
     By A31Y97J71MZTDY on 2004-10-11
We have 10 month old twin boys. I am always trying to find a toy that they can both play with. This toy is great, there is so many things to do they dont fight over the same thing. Best of all the toy has not tipped over yet! My 4 year old nephew comes over and has a blast with it. We also have an 8 year old and when no one is looking he plays with it just as much as his brothers!! This was a good purchase and I see it lasting for a while.
- love this toy!
     By A2G6IRHZZNO57F on 2004-11-07
I am giving this toy to my son for his first birthday and I can't stop playing with it! It is so cute and everytime I press a button something new happens. We let our firend's 18 month old girl give it a test drive and boy does it stand up to the durability test. She loved it so much we had to pry her away from it when she went home. My only complaint is that there is alot of assembly required and you need a really long screwdriver to get some of the screws in. I can't wait to give it to my son!
- Worth every penny! But hard to put together.
     By A1TKNL2X29WYNX on 2004-07-21
I purchased this for my 1 year old as a birthday gift from the ToysRUs store. There is alot of assembly with this item and you can't use an electic drill on some of the holes due to the depth of the hole unless you have a really long bit on your drill. Never the less, worth every penny and every minute it took to put together. It is as tall as my 1 year old and over 1 foot deep but when you store it up against a wall it doesn't take up alot of space. Both my 1 year old and my 3 year old LOVE IT! There are so many things to do, they are able to play together or seperatly. I can not say enough good things about it. The music is cute and they love going through the door. It has everything they need for imaginary play (great for my 3 yr old) and alot of gadgets for hand and eye cordination and cause and effect (great for my 1 yr old). It also addresses number recognition. I do have a problem with the flower on the front of the house. It catches on the window when you open and close it but they have learned how to move the flower out of the way. I should try bending the flower stem away from the window. Great toy over all.
- This one is a good one!
     By A1NKQMLDSOG8F0 on 2004-11-22
We got this for our one year old daughter's birthday. She and her 3 year old sister play with it daily. It has so many activities and captures their attention, even if it is to just hit a button to play music on their way by. They like to sit on opposite sides of the door and open and close it playing peek-a-boo. Very cute and fun toy. My only complaint is that the one year old broke the flower right off of the flowerpot within a month or so. Oh well, they really don't miss it.
- Best Toy Ever!
     By A1MX6P0NFLOO4H on 2004-11-27
My daughter received this as a gift for her first birthday...I had to put it together right away so it would be there for her to play with as soon as she woke up the next morning. She LOVES this toy, it has quickly become her favorite! She loves pushing buttons, flipping switches, and opening and closing things, and it's even better when they make noise as you do it. I highly recommend this toy!
- Worth the Money and then some...

My 9 month old son loves this toy! It was the hit of our play group. It is so much fun to watch him learn and explore all of the mechanisms on the house. This is definitely his (and my) favorite toy!

I purchased this toy for my 1 yr. olds b-day...I cannot be more pleased. There is a lot for her to do and learn. She loves crawling through the door, dancing & listening to the music, playing with the pieces and etc. I believe this toy will give her more to play with as she grows. Great investment.

I just purchased this toy for my 1 year old son and he absolutely adores it! This is well worth the money! He loves the all the songs, opening and closing the door, and turning the light on and off! It really keeps him occupied, one of the best toys we have purchased so far!
- AWESOME! Hours of fun.
     By AJVLERAI0JTUQ on 2004-10-19
Great toy! Relatively durable, fun music, lots of things to explore. I think the price is really low for what you get. Over all a great product.
- Bought it based on other reviews
     By A3TKN9XZUPKA1C on 2004-10-21
I didn't want it at first because it's rather large, but we bought this for my daughter's first birthday based on these other reviews. It has by far gotten the most play of all the (also thoughtful and generous) gifts received at the party. Both my one-year-old and three-year-old enjoy it.
- Must have toy..
     By A2V05EKYN8ASIM on 2004-11-05
I always thought this was the neatest looking thing but was afraid it was goin to be another expensive toy my son would play with for a week and then not look at..
Boy was I wrong.. HE LOVES IT.. Everyday all day for over a couple weeks now.. And when his friends come over to play its the first thing they all go through.. He definitly has more fun when there are two of them playing but spends the time having fun all by himself or even with me or my husband!!! its the best thing ever!!!
My son also has the phone which he LOVES and its a very QUIET noise toy :) and a friend of our has the puppy which they both love and fight over when they are together :) Good Job Fisher Price with this series :)
- Our first can't live without toy!
     By A3IO3DA9NV8PCF on 2004-11-16
I recently bought this toy for my 10 month old as a soon to receive Christmas present but, I had to see for myself if she would show any intrest in it. Wow, I can't seem to get it away from her and now I can just sit back and watch her as she plays for hours. We have also had fun playing peek-a-boo through the window and she loves to open the door and make faces at me. I would recommend this toy anyday. There's so much to do with both sides and the sounds and songs have two levels of control. this toy has become a must have in my book and well worth the price!
- Dangerous
     By A14JRI6GETSYU on 2005-04-28
This toy is horrible! Our daughter loves to pull herself up to stand. So, we thought this would be perfect since she does that and started to crawl. When she pulled herself up on the door it would open and she would fall flat on her face. It was not sturdy or user friendly and I just returned it. Save your money.
- Fantastic Toy for hours of Fun
     By A1STFRPROEHEW5 on 2005-11-23
My husband and I bought this for our daughter last year for Christmas. (She was 9 mths at the time.) She loved it from day one and still plays with it at least once a day. She loved the music time option when she was younger, but now that she is learning to talk we have it on the learning time option and it has helped her learn up & Down, open & Close, etc. She also LOVES the ABC song and trys to sing along. It is easy to clean and we have only had to change the batteries once. GREAT educational toy!
- Love this toy!
     By A1NEDTOVEX5KG3 on 2004-07-25
I received this toy for my son as a gift for his first birthday. My 5 year old daughter immediately asked if it could go in her room! Baby loves opening and closing the door and mailbox, turning on and off the light, and crawling through the doorway. 5 year old likes pretending (playing house),changing the radio stations, and delivering the mail. This is a very fun toy for a wide range of ages.
- awesome toy!!

We bought this for our daughter. She is 14 months. She really, really loves it! She plays with it all the time and for awhile. It takes time to put together- don't open the box around your child, they will be in the way.
Great first birthday gift of holiday gift. We LOVE IT!
- 9 month old, can't get enough of this toy
     By A2OI8NOPLRZ3JP on 2004-11-24
Fantastic toy. The variety of songs and sounds are much more entertaining than most toys. Our daughter loves going through the doorway, ringing the bell and even spinning the flower.
- Wonderful Toy!!!

I bought this toy for my two year old daughter and one year old son when it first came out. That was a few months ago and they still play with it everyday. Their favorite thing to do is to go in and out through the door and to say hi to eachother through the window. I love this toy!!!
