Kong's exclusive red natural rubber is puncture resistant, super bouncy, and chewer friendly. It is unmatched for resilience, durability, and bounce. Kong satisfies a dog's natural need to chew and also cleans teeth and conditions gums. The thick, flexible walls keep springing back for more! Kong rubber is non-toxic, nonabrasive, non-splintering, and does not get sharp when chewed. Kong toys are enthusiastically used and recommended by veterinarians, trainers, dog professionals and satisfied customers world wide. Made in the USA. For Maximum Safety: 1. Supervise use. 2. Inspect toy frequently. 3. Remove damaged toy. Important Safety Information: No dog toy is indestructible! All dogs have powerful jaw muscles and sharp teeth. Most dogs chew 40 to 60 times per minute with a force of 1,200 to 1,500 pounds per square inch. Kongs are safe, beneficial toys designed by people who know and love dogs, but ultimately, your dog's safety is your responsibility. Every dog is a unique individual and no one can predict how long a Kong will last with your dog. Note: If your dog destroys a Kong in a short period of time, it is probably too small. Regular use of a Kong by your dog will increase jaw strength, so you may eventually need to provide larger red or black Kongs. Supervise the use of toys. Frequently inspect the clean toy under a bright light. Look for damage (such as missing pieces, cracks, separations). Flex the toy and inspect it from different angles. Loose pieces larger than a f

This funny-shaped rubber chew packs a huge play value into a compact package. Legendary among dog lovers for their strength and durability, Kong toys are the answer to a busy pet owner's prayers. Dogs were made to hunt, chase, and gnaw, and denied a way to satisfy these natural urges, they can turn into barkers, diggers, problem chewers, or worse. Recommended by vets and trainers for dogs with separation anxiety, the Kong has a hollow interior that's ideal for stuffing with treats. Use peanut butter or soft cheese like glue to keep biscuits inside, and extracting the contents becomes a "hunt" to keep any pooch happy and busy all workday long. Dogs love the toys' goofy, unpredictable bounce and can chase, fetch, and play for hours. Chewing Kongs even helps promote strong jaws, clean teeth, and general oral health.

Often imitated but never equalled, Kongs are made in the USA from a thick, flexible rubber that's non-toxic, non-splintering, and puncture-resistant enough to stand up to even the strongest jaws. This red Tuffy is appropriate for typical medium- to large-sized dogs, from basset hounds on up to some standard poodles; size up (and/or switch to a super-durable black Kong) for aggressive chewers. Regularly inspect your Kong for cracks or missing chunks, and replace worn or damaged toys to avoid a choking hazard. Satisfaction is guaranteed; if either you or your dog aren't happy with your purchase, return within 30 days for a full refund. --Mary Park MPN: T1 - UPC: 035585111117

  • Best Dog Toy Ever!

    By AJJPV9346NFX5 on 2004-11-09
My Boston Terrier LOVES this toy. It is fun to use as a fetch toy and has an unpredictable bounce. My dog will stand on the couch, throw the kong himself, and runs after it when I am too busy to throw it for him. For a special treat, I put cheerios or dog food in the toy with a little peanut butter and he is occupied for a good 30 minutes trying to get every piece out. When he is in a chewing mood he will gnaw at this thing for a long time. He has never tried to chew on any furniture because he loves this toy so much. We have had this toy for over a year, and it does have some little pieces missing. The manufacturer says you should take the toy away in that case- but I don't think it is necessary. Small pieces will come right out the other end with no trouble!
    Excellent toy!

  • A breakfast/lunch/dinner bucket + excercise

    By A1N5UPFNOTFQ3D on 2007-03-08
I have used medium sized Kongs as a
    breakfast/lunch/dinner bucket for our
Bichon for over five years. I stuff it with
a dried liver treat, a combination of
Eukanuba and Max and a Medium Dog Bone.

His five to eight trips a day for Kong
refills provides a break from my sedentary
home office activities. Recently I had
collapsed lung surgery and now use
the filling of Kongs for a six minute
treadmill break. He now joins me on the
treadmill for about the first three minutes
before jumping off to work on his latest
Kong. Kongs are a lasting feature in our lives.
The Amazon Provider of a two years supply
of Kongs (6) was excellent and very competitively
priced. I recommend both the Kong and Supplier
    at a 5 star level.

  • Keeps a German Shepherd Happy

    By A2D6GEKHUIUEAB on 2005-01-03
My German shepherd loves this toy. As both my husband and I work we have to leave her alone for 8 hours a day. I give her a kong filled with treats each morning and often when I get home that she is still working on getting the stuff out. Any toy that keeps this chewing machine occupied for that long is worth its weight in gold!

  • great for puppies who like to chew

    By A10GV9VYNLIXUQ on 2005-11-22
I have a miniature poodle puppy who eats everything in sight (including some unfortunate trips to the cats' litter box). I bought him one of these and fill it with the peanut butter stuff in a can. It's his favorite toy, or at least I think it is because he loses his mind every time I start to refill it. It's well worth the few dollars (and the price for the cans of peanut butter spray).

  • My beagle....

    By A3BFEUNOY7EMTR on 2006-01-25
    You know beagles love chewing.

My new beagle who came from a shelter loves to chew. I mean, he LOVES chewing anything he sees!!!

Since my husband and I work fulltime and we have to leave him in a crate all day, Every morning, I stuff low sodium peanut butter and dog treat, and he loves it lick and chew all day! And even after all day chewing, the Kong doesn't break at all.

I also like the Kong bounds and rolls everywhere because of the funny shape and he loves to chase.

This is the best dog toy I've ever got!

  • A Good Toy For A Dog Who Likes To Chew
    By on 2006-03-09
When I got my 8 week old Golden Retriever puppy I bought him a small sized kong. He liked it although it didn't intertain him for very long. The liver and beef treats worked well and he liked them alot. At least he couldn't chew it open! I would rate it a 4.

  • Great, durable, educational toy !
    By AFHIOZC7DNAI on 2007-03-08
I had started my new puppy on the smaller, puppy Kong toy when I first got him, and once his adult teeth come through, I switched him to this one. I fill them with bananas, or peanut butter and carrots, or cream cheese, and freeze them, which lasts my dog at least an hour to get through. I'll sometimes fill this with baby food when I am using it as a training treat. What dog doesn't love a Kong toy and this Kong is large enough that it holds more stuffable food inside. My dog loves this Kong toy and so do I!!

  • Great Dog Toy
    By A10R9CEKG1EB75 on 2006-12-19
My dogs love their Kongs, especially filled with their favorite treats. Can't wait to try the Ziggies as they are supposed to fit inside the Kongs to create a wonderful "project" for times when I want to distract or amuse my Springers. I even use these in the KongTime machine.

  • Great for long-lasting fun
    By A167UAQ4E98K0Q on 2007-04-19
I'd been looking for a good durable chew toy for a long time, and have heard rumors about the 'Kong': it became a legendary toy in my mind, until I finally saw it in my local pet store and bought one for my Toy Rat Terrier. As soon as I got home, stuck a treat inside, and now it's Marcello's favorite toy! This'll surely keep him happy while I'm away at work, too.

  • small dogs only
    By AG0KTJHBU29I1 on 2007-09-23
This toy is not sturdy enough for a dog over 10lbs - learned the hard way. My 50lb dog bit the top off in les than 5 minutes

  • THE Perfect Toy
    By A1UAMS47BQ5SRK on 2007-10-05
    Dog: Boykin Spaniel (huntin breed)
    Size: 30-35 pound lap dog
Favorite Pastimes: napping on the couch, watching Animal Planet, long walks, playing fetch with her daddy and her kong.

This is THE perfect toy. My dog is not a chewer by any stretch of the imagination, but she is obsessed with this thing. I mean, obsessed.

Recommendation: Get several. They bounce in a strange way, and like to get caught under the furniture. We have lost 1 of 3 so far.

  • Great dog toy, strong, keeps them occupied
    By A338WMJ8QUF79 on 2008-02-09
We have two Vizsla puppies who are strong chewers and need lots of excitement to keep them occupied. The Kong has been great. We have compared them to the Canine Genius and like the Kong much much better (the food/treats stay inside a lot longer, they hold up better to dog chewing, and the dogs like them more). Highly recommend the Kong, use Peanut Butter or soft cheese to make the treats stay inside even longer.

  • Not for tough chewers.
    By on 2006-03-31
I bought this for my puppy (Golden Retriever) and he chewed it up in about two days. He chewed the WHOLE thing until there was nothing left. It did keep him interested though. I bought kong peanut flavor treats and those worked well. It was okay.

  • THE BEST BIG DOG TOY EVER
    By A3MYFMZ4FF2U88 on 2006-12-03
We have a 65 pound lab/husky mix. She manages to destroy soft toys, vinyl toys, rope toys, squeaker toys, chew bones...just about everything in under 20 minutes. (especially if left unsupervised) She has 3 of these large, red kong toys that have lasted for over a year! They are the best toys for large, aggressive chewers. The kong spray that you can purchase to spray inside the toy made our dog sick. We have since learned that many other brand-name treats also fit inside the toy if you squash it a little bit.

  • Excellent for Small Doggies
    By A2ERKJH9GZ3L0K on 2007-02-10
We have two small Poms who like to get their teeth into everything.
They will stay busy trying to get the treat out for a long time, after awhile they will get the treat and want some more.
The doggie toy is made up of very tuff rubber and you will not have to worry about the dog tearing it up and perhaps getting the pieces into their stomachas and may not be able to pass it, then off to the vet you go.
Very safe for your dog or dogs.

  • Wow!
    By A2OW81GWHMOXQU on 2007-02-14
My Samoyed loves this toy and so far hasn't managed to trash it. Yay! It's sturdy and VERY chewable.

  • doesn't live up to the hype
    By A3VSWDF1XRN1HY on 2007-03-31
My dog (80 lbs.) liked this toy when it contained a treat but within a week it was beginning to come apart so I threw it away. Maybe she needed the black kong.

  • Keeps my dog out of trouble!
    By A3OALBME51D6MD on 2007-05-21
I find this dog toy to be excellent at keeping my dog occupied when I fill the cavity with treats.

  • Good chewing or for bouncing
    By A2OWXUIXV9ES5M on 2007-09-20
She'll sit there and chew this for hours. She really enjoys the game of chasing as it bounces random directions - usually 3 bounces off my hardwood. The 'small' is about the size of a computer mouse.

  • Dangerous toy for chewing dog under 50 lbs
    By A1KUPCCZIC4UEA on 2007-12-12
I have a 10 year old Dalmation weighing about 42lbs. The top ring is very weak for a chewing dog. This happened the first day I received the Kong. There was no food in the Kong. I had to pull the top ring from the back of her throat. Very scarry!

  • Beagle proof!
    By A1U1UMH4JXHOI0 on 2008-02-07
I have a year and half old beagle that has teeth of steel and a bite strength to match! I've found few dog toys that could stand up to his tough chewing and thus far the Kong line of toys have been by far the best! He's had a classic Kong for a year that I give him peanut butter in when I kennel him in the mornings that is just starting to show its abuse. I bought a new one (as a future replacement) at Christmas along with three other Kong toys (I also got him a Kong dental bone, a Kong ball and a Kong bounzer ball). I've found that these Kong toys far outlast many other toys I've bought him that claimed to be indestructible, and this classic Kong has held up far longer than would have expected. I would certainly purchase these Kong products again without hesitation. Thank goodness he only chews on his toys!

  • Most durable dog toy yet
    By A1P1N5SRYIF8I1 on 2006-11-09
This dog toy is the most durable one I have had for my dog. He had chewed and destroyed every other brand we got. It is still going strong, Kong bones are great too!!

  • Our lab loves it
    By A3POXRP4RED0B2 on 2006-11-28
We have a 7 month old lab who loves it. Its the only toy that we have tried that he can't chew through. And he chews through almost anything (tennis toughies, raw hide bones, etc etc). He has had it for 3 weeks and is still as fascinated by it as he was on day one.

  • Legendary For A Reason
    By A3MI7LRPQ1N6D5 on 2006-12-24
I'm quite sure that my dog - a large Border Collie mix - loves his Kong more than he loves me. I fill it with peanut butter and let him spend a happy hour slurping it out; I stuff a large treat inside and watch him puzzle over how to free it; I simply throw and bounce it around for him to chase. It's funny looking and a little hard to clean (though it does go in the dishwasher!), but it's pure doggie joy, and at a great price. If my dog ever manages to chew this one up, he'll get another.

  • Keep 'em busy.
    By A1NE2ZOY3FCTQ8 on 2006-12-25
I bought this for my dog last Christmas and she loves it. It keeps her busy for quite a long time.

  • Kong Classic
    By A2AONWN3X2HOX4 on 2007-05-09
The Kong Classic is a great dog toy for any dog that likes to chew and get food! They are easy to stuff with treats or canned food and can be frozen for a longer lasting chew toy. My dog loves me going to work as she gets a Kong!!

  • My Dog LOVES this
    By A749FI9DHK1Z7 on 2007-07-25
This is truly one of my dogs (and several other dogs I know) favorite toy. Just stuff a treat inside and it will keep them busy for hours at a time!

  • The Kong and It's Uses
    By A1KGTLGQ8P0IDT on 2007-11-18
I have a 7 lb pug who loves to chew on her kong. She also loves to have frozen peanut butter with her leftover kibble inside of it. When we give her the kong she will just chow down on it for hours. If you don't have a kong yet i highly reccomend it for your dog of any size and any age. Also there are tons of websites with recipes to put inside your kong. Our pug will eat the kong stuffn and the kong puppy stuffers which wil be good for your dogs teethe . So if you are looking for a great chew toy for your dog,PICK THE KONG!!!!!

  • Kongs are the best
    By A3JWNUN41HZKHC on 2007-12-08
Greatest dog toy ever made! All my dogs have loved the kong. Our new puppy is enjoying it tremendously. I just have to make sure out full grown lab doesn't get it and choke on this small one.

  • Bad choice for big dog.
    By A3BEEGOYZWXXBO on 2008-01-07
We have black kongs and love them but constantly step on them and roll our ankles. So we thought the red ones would be easier to see. We just assumed they were all indistructible. They are not. Our pit bull had chewed the red ones completely up in a matter of hours. Our bad. But we really didn't know there was a difference.
