Excellent reception, but poor build quality By A2JB825JHTJ5S4 on 2005-05-01
This antenna worked perfectly for me for exactly 30 days. At that point, I kept getting "Antenna Not Detected" messages on every receiver I tried. When I examined the plug that connects to the receiver, I noticed that a tiny cylinder of metal inside the plug had fallen out. It's gone, now, and without that piece to make contact, the antenna is useless.
Be VERY careful when connecting or disconnecting this antenna from a receiver, as this piece is VERY easy to break, and you will be left with a useless piece of equipment.
While it WAS functioning, however, it performed its job quite nicely.
Becareful-no end connector shown By A1HU1GH2ENVL5P on 2006-02-08
I have the Xact XTR1 Jockey receiver, this vendor does not show the end connector. This is not the standard right angle pin end that fits this model. This has a molex type connector. Just and FYI.
Terk Sirius antenna By A1VZIGYUG24RQA on 2006-03-10
Purchased a total of 20 of these.
I previously sold the American International brand Sirius antenna but there was a temporary shortage in the market.
Four of the twenty Terk brand units were dead on installation. Sadly, I thought Terk was a quality brand. My mistake!
Good replacement. By A3KGP7EJVYQCL6 on 2005-09-14
Antenna was a good replacement for my stock SIRIUS that went bad after a few months. Almost identical except for a plastic adapter on the plug that I had to remove.
Too delicate - save your money By A1D6XR6F0UV0DS on 2006-01-08
I'd echo the other comments below: the plug is tiny and fragile, installation instructions are bad, and the unit barely lasted six months before resulting in "Antenna Not Detected" messages. Warranty information is impossible to get online. Given the choice of buying another antenna for $30 or a whole new updated receiver direct from sirius for $50, you can guess which I chose.

It works great but I had to modify the connection to fit my model eventhough the description said it was for that model.
- Good price but

What is with the plastic light brown holder over the plug ?????????. Why does everyone have to cut it off?????????. Other then that looks, and works, just like the one that came with the Starmate unit. I am using this one for my other car. Again, Yes you have to cut the Light Brown holder at the end near the plug off in order for it to work on the Starmate. Why WHO KNOWS, just cut carefully and enjoy.
- First one was defective

The first one I received was defective. The second one worked fine. I've seen others complain of poor quality.

     By A1JX6VQBI05DUR on 2006-03-16
Works great.
Had to remove the brown plastic fitting from the antenna wire that encased the actual metal connector to the cradle.
Other reviews pointed this out so it wasn't a big deal, just had to be done carefully.
- Antenna signal
     By AK2DCTHBGX9PE on 2007-01-03
well I had to change my 1st generation anteena it died. so they left me no choice but to use these type. Not too impressed I have more drop/lost singals I needed a bigger antenna. I guess bigger is better.
- Sleek Look, Average Reception
     By A3MHIHWE9R7WQA on 2005-08-10
New antenna purchased in July 05 for my Infiniti M45. Small, sleek look is pleasing to the eye. Magnets dont hold as well as my larger antenna did and reception is not much improved vs. old antenna (this may not be TERK's fault).
Bottom line is this is an above average product at a great price.
- Works Great!
     By A9JN2GXIV9LZS on 2005-09-06
I bought this to use on my semi and it works great! I mounted it on my driver side mirror (flat steel bolted to CB antenna mount)and I get great reception. The plug end had a square plastic piece I had to cut away so it would work with my sirius reciever but that only took five minutes.

Installed the original antenna in my primary vehicle and needed a second antenna for a work vehicle. Purchased this item on Amazon.com for a great price (cheaper than Ebay) and free shipping!
- Good reception, Great price.

Like the other reviews, the only real problem is that strange light brown plastic piece over the connector plug (note: you can not see it in the picture that amazon provides). Just carefully cut it off then your good to go. All in all it's a great value for the price.
- Sirius Antenna
     By A27YC9YD2J523T on 2006-03-21
Very satisfied with my antenna and also very satisfied with the service I received at Amazon.com. I didn't expect my antenna until a week after I actually received it. Will definitely come to Amazon.com for future purchases.

I aLso received the antenna with the brown plug that wouldn't fit my Sirius model. The ad was misleading and appears everyone is having the same issue.
- Terk Satellite antenna
     By A3RZRZCPH26FBI on 2007-01-03
I don't believe it is as good as the Kenwood antenna I had, but its better than nothing. That was the choice. Nothing and the Terk.
- Great antenna
     By AUCDM4YP3GVO4 on 2007-01-09
Great satellite antenna. I haven't had any problems with it so far with the exception of the little rectangular plastic connector that comes attached to the connector. You can just pop the purple tab off and the plastic part comes right off. Be careful not to damage the connector in the process!
- The perfect fit
     By AHALMN93IT6I8 on 2007-10-30
This antenna was a replacement item for my original antenna. I have a "Sirius ready" Clarion head unit with a seperate reciever in the rear hatch. At first I was a little worried that Clarion might have a proprietary connection on the receiver. Since I was without the service for over a month, I was eager to install the antenna right away! Upon initial inspection, I was surprised to see how small the unit is. Much smaller and less obtrusive than my original antenna. The black color seems to blend in better than the old grey one. After checking the connector where the antenna connects to the receiver, I saw they were identical. First I cleaned the area on my roof with a rag and water where it was going to be installed. Next I put the antenna where it's going to sit on the vehicle. You want to route the wire before you peel off the doubleface tape that holds the wire in place. After getting everything in place and making sure everything is working properly, get the alcohol swab supplied with the kit, and wipe off the area between the antenna base and where the wire enters your vehicle. Now you can peel the doubleface tape and place the antenna in it's permanent position. It's a pretty painless swap out. If your are replacing an old antenna, make sure you get all of the old doubleface tape off. Easier said than done!
- Poor quality
     By AJHQ8C3LZTLML on 2008-05-23
Amazon doesn't show the connection plug.
Assuming Terk hasn't upgraded their design from the one I have, the quality is very poor. My plug is not solid; rather, it is a circle of thin flanges, which quickly break.
