  • Sweet bargain, great performance

    By A97R2RMCBRVTY on 2006-07-14
I got this HDMI cable for under $10 just to see whether it will work as well as the expensive ones and it was well worth the risk. I tested it with my upconverting LG DVD player on 1080i resolution on my 42" 1080p Westinghouse LCD TV and it works just like any other HDMI cable, including those loud names who charge you ten-fold for "golden plated extra special micro gravity nanotechnology space age wireless high conductivity low noise extra gauge supercalafragilisticexpialidocious" cables with no difference in performance. By buying this cable I avoided the huge "naive citizen tax" included in these products. Considering its price, this is an amazingly good cable.

  • Price performer!

HDMI is a digital signal. That means it's all or nothing--not like analog where you may have degradation due to signal loss, crosstalk, radio frequency interference, etc. As long as you have a decent HDMI cable to transmit the digital bitstream from point A to point B, you're set. I just purchased the new Sony Bravia S-series 32 inch LCD TV. To go with it, I trashed my old Apex with the missing remote and got a deal on a Sony DVP-NS70H upconverting DVD player that can synthesize "extra" lines of resolution. The player can send 720p or 1080i signal to the TV. (Current DVDs are 480p; that standard will change eventually with Blu-Ray and HD-DVD.) I knew that the upconversion feature only works through a digital connection, so I'd need to get an HDMI cable. Started checking prices and, no surprise, they were all over the place. Some were in the $100 range. Despite mild skepticism, I decided to try the cheapest one. This little beauty arrived in 3 days in a plain brown wrapper and a clear plastic bag. The cable is surprisingly robust, with nice build quality, supple insulation, and good connectors. I started to feel vindicated. So I plugged it in, put Harry Potter in the DVD player and WOW!! The DVD player and TV did their magic. Spellbindingly great picture and sound. I haven't tried a component analog connection--those cables are REALLY expensive and quality matters more there--so I can't compare component versus HDMI. Bottom line: this is an unbeatable price performer for around $10 incuding shipping. And no, this is not an April Fools joke.

  • Don't get your hopes up!

The cable is not that good, I have experienced some digital dropouts not as good as my other brand HDMI cable.

  • Best HDMI Cable

    By on 2004-07-12
I have tried quite a few cables over the past months with my HD setup, and this is by far the best cable I have used. The quality of the picture is amazing with HDMI, but you need a cable of this quality to make it worth it!!

  • 1/10th the price - 100% the performance.

    By A36BFLMHY6Z75Y on 2006-07-20
Shopping around for an HDMI cable and seeing the $80, $90, and $100 price tags out there, of course I was skeptical about a $5 product. Then again, it's only $5 dollars, so the risk isn't that much. Turns out the risk was well worth it. Cable works wonderfully. Very sharp, clean picture. Audio through the cable is excellent. It's nice to replace the YPbPr-video+L/R-audio (5 cables) with one HDMI cable that does it all and does it better. Another positive note on the product, it was shipped extremely quickly.

  • Price Crusher
    By A3BJCGK49AAR0Q on 2006-07-27
Its a cable c-a-b-l-e. It is a conduit for electical signals no more no less. This particular one works great we noticed an improvement in the picture between our SAT receiver and DLP from the component cables we had been using. I can not offer an A & B to a name brand but from the picture I see the footballs would have to be actually flyig out of my screen to make the name brand price difference worth it.

  • Good product...when it works
    By A1Y4IJO4FQ807J on 2006-12-23
I am currently using a Westinghouse 42" LCD monitor with a Comcast HD digital cable box. I got this cable to replace the component cables Comcast provided me with. For $10 including shipping I was very satisfied with the cable as the improved picture quality was immediately noticeable. The color was more vibrant and picture was sharper.

Now for the bad part. I have a full-time job and am a college student so I'm in and out of my house constantly and turn my TV on and off many times during the day. I've had this cable for almost a week, and at least once a day when I turn on the TV it says it has no HDMI connection signal, so I have to unplug the cable and plug it in again for it to work. So far this has solved the problem and while it is my only gripe, it does become an great inconvenience to do this everyday especially when your TV is about half as wide as your room.

But for $10 what can you expect? I'm still satisfied with the product but usually you expect cables to just plug in and work.

  • Great Value
    By A1XY2ZHVWKD29Z on 2006-07-31
I just recieved my HDMI cable and am very impressed. The price is just what it should be about $5 and makes me wonder how somebody would spend over $100 for this cable at a store. The service was excellent and the cable arrived in 4 days! I highly recommend this cable. I just plugged it into my cable box and the other end into the TV and WOW what a great picture all around. The color is just so much more vivid using HDMI compared to component 3 wire connectors. Get this cable for your system and stay away from those high priced others.

    By A2MX0CY4HZE9FU on 2006-12-12
Have been using this with both my Upconverting DVD player & my cable box since the beginning of the football season. It has performed flawlessly an you can beat the price. Nothing much else to say that hasnt already been said. If your skeptical, spend the $14 total and give it a shot. Not much to lose there.

  • Excellent for the price
    By AFRNOLES8L6VH on 2006-12-21
I bought these cables to connect my PS3 to my 32" LG HDTV and they definitely provided the higher definition that I was looking for when compared to the AV cable that comes with the PS3. Don't throw money away buying the more expensive cables when these provide excellent HD transmission. I highly recommend them for the price.

  • The Big Box stores are ripping you off!!
    By A3AAZXSUOPAJT9 on 2008-06-29
When I bought my DLP HDTV this last spring, they were selling 6 feet HDMI cable for $35-$50 dollars depending on the brand. I held off because I already had a component cable that would work while I did some other shopping for HDMI. Glad I did, this cable is cheap and so far, no problems. From what I understand digital transmission quality won't vary because of brand difference, it will either work to the full potential or not work at all. Much like a USB cable. And this cable works.

  • It Just Works
    By A1KOJ1FY1UUW6V on 2008-06-29
This cable is the same as any other HDMI cable out there. Nothing special or anything. There's no need to pay $100+ for a Monster HDMI cable. It's digital, that's all that really matters.

  • Why Pay More?
    By A3LVVZ0IFC0R8N on 2008-07-03
I am an electrical engineer with a background in communications. I needed an HDMI cable to go from my new DVD/VCR to my HD flatscreen. I was looking at up to $40 for this item from various local stores as well as on line, seemed like greed to me. I found this item on Amazon, ordered it, and when it arrived I plugged it in. Voila! 1080P without any negative HD effects. What more could you ask of a cable? It may not be as boiler-plate tough as some others, but it isn't being moved around anyway...so why pay more?

  • Simply Great
    By A2ZLPWP6DNH2SN on 2008-06-29
I used this with my new Sony Upscaling DVD player (DVP- NS77H) to connect it to Vizio TV. I experienced a significant improvement in both picture and audio quality.
Can't beat the price too.Highly Recommended.

  • Perfect and Much Cheaper
    By A21R275PT11PX7 on 2008-06-29
This cable works great. And, it's much cheaper than anything at Walmart where they run $20+.

  • How can you go wrong?
    By AQCENF48KBBG8 on 2008-06-30
Its the same product that's selling for much more money, but without the fancy packaging and name brand on it. Quality product, fast shipping, a price that just can't be beat. How can you go wrong?

  • You get what you pay for
    By A2GGOZKSCW0BHT on 2008-07-01
I bought this cable in the hope to connect a Philips DVD player to a Samsung TV. Judging by the LOTR wide-screen DVD, my TV was unable to display a good picture: The black bars on top and bottom were green instead of black, the Philips setup menu orange instead of white, and there was so much pixel noise that the DNR could not cope with it. The sound is fine. The very same setup plays nicely over a component connection instead of HDMI. That sounds to me like bad wiring of the HDMI cable. I hope the surmised mis-wiring didn't damage my devices. Barring a malfunction of the HDMI port on either device, I can not recommend this cable.

  • HDMI cable
    By AKRBMNZOS55KL on 2008-06-28
Excellent picture, fast shipping, and very inexpensive compared to buying from a retail store. Don't overpay, buy these!!

  • Not the most current HDMI technology
    By AG7E2P1YPYRR3 on 2008-06-29
This cable does not seem to be HDMI version 1.3 so be careful if you are using with blu-ray or PS3 as it will not give you 48-bit color.

This is a good price , but you absolutely should make sure you buy a HDMI Version 1.3 cable. For those that are interested to learn the truth, go to the source, the HDMI website, and you will learn that Version 1.3 is the most current version of HDMI and it has very significant advantages over its predecessors.

  • Great Value
    By A2AKNVBQNHUT04 on 2008-06-29
I almost bought the same product for $45 because I figured this deal was too good to be true. A year later, I am standing by this product to say it is a great deal.

  • Surprised
    By A2PS2MW0ID3ZW6 on 2008-06-29
I was surprised that this cable has worked without problems.

Using with a PC as source, and only for Video, Audio is Optical to a Yamaha AVR. TV is a Samsung 50" 720P. Have not used any BD discs yet.

  • These cables work great!
    By AVE2WVZ42JXJ4 on 2008-06-30
I use these cables for my home theater/DVD player combo and a Xbox 360 - they work great! They are cheap and arrived fast. There is absolutely no reason why you should buy more expensive HDMI cables.

  • Great cable, good price
    By A166QASUO0IKT9 on 2008-06-30
No need to spend a fortune for an HDMI cable when this one works perfectly.

  • Dont over pay
    By A3I34IYU3DMH4B on 2008-07-01
I payed [...] cents for 2 of these cables, they both work great i havent so much as had either cut out on me, picture quality couldnt be better. There are reviews on [...] that talk about how they have tested cables like these against $[...] cables and found no difference, it is a rip off buy the cheapest cables you can

  • Can't Beat the Price
    By ARRMCUMG5FFVR on 2008-07-01
I was curious if a cable costing this little could compare to those I've seen elsewhere for "much" higher prices. Well not having a personal experience to base my judgement I relied on all the favorable reviews and I have not been disappointed. I can't say for certain if the picture quality of my Poloroid Element HDTV changed significantly, but I did notice a greater difference in improved volume sound and strength. That and the simple fact this one cable replaces two multi-plug component cables allows me to highly recommend the purchase of this item. The service and fast shipping from this seller is also commendable. Buy it!

  • Just as good
    By ALF9WZLFFGUO7 on 2008-07-01
The quality of the picture is just as good as the so called monster cables. I cannot see any difference at all.

  • Nice cable, nice price
    By A2XVGWQZN26LX9 on 2008-07-01
"Used two of these cables to hook up a 50" Pan. 720P Plasma TV to Verizon FIOS box and DVD player. I did not see any resolution difference when I switched from Monster to these and they cost much less."

  • Works fine
    By A1EONO1J7V3C34 on 2008-07-01
This cable connects our cable box to our brand new 40" 720p Sony TV. The cable connects securely at both ends, and the TV picture is beautiful. The low price and prompt delivery were great.

  • Terrific cables for a super price.
    By A2XU6J41ZQOJ2V on 2008-06-28
These HDMI cables are every bit as good as the ones going for $30-$35. Don't let their low price fool or throw you. I compared the quality of the feed/signal going between my DirecTV HD box and Magnavox HD TV and they are the same. Well worth the price even with S/H.

  • Stick it to the man (so long as the man has HDMI inputs!)
    By A3D56IGUKCXSDD on 2008-07-02
I was really tired of seeing these cables advertised for $40 and $50 bucks at the retail outlets. What are they thinking? What kind of profit are they making?! This is a top quality cable that improved the quality of my DVD's immesurably. I've got an upconverting DVD player and 1080P 40" LCD. They're practically HD now. Who needs blu-ray?
