World's greatest sock? By A12X5IZCXN492U on 2005-04-19
It took me until age 47 until I really started to pay attention to my socks. I've always hated the drooping ankle-sock, showing skin with legs crossed look.. So I went on a mission to find a great, affordable over the calf and this is it. Fully stocked my sock drawer with 12 pairs in black, that's all I really need for work or leisure. The quality and comfort (they go up over your calf and STAY there...no bare ankles showing on me!) are exemplary. Next I'm going to try the athletic sock version of these, Gold Toe makes great stuff.
Kick your wardrobe up a notch By A353I3F7PDVZCE on 2006-07-02
These socks are flawless. Extremely comfortable, you can wear them all day and the cotton allows your feet to breath while the nylon ensures that your socks never droop. They wear like iron, never had a hole after many years of use.
Tight Socks By A311FVTWHS0MCF on 2006-08-08
I don't have big calves, but I find these socks too tight. Otherwise OK.
Sounds Silly By A284E5OUAE1ECK on 2007-01-28
Best sock in performance that I have ever tried. I buy them in bulk and have never been dissappointed. No sagging, no defects. The only reason I toss them is that they fade to gray after a long life of use.
One of the few products that once you try them you never have to worry about this item in your wardrobe again. If they ever stopped making them, I would buy a 100 pairs just to know I would have them for my liftime.
There...I actually wrote a review on socks!
When they say "over the calf", they mean it By AH8NYD41MAT61 on 2007-03-01
So I bought the regular length Canterbury socks, and they were too short, so ended up falling down all the time. I figured that I'd get these, and they'd be a regular dress-sock length and go to just above the curve of the calf.
But, um, no. The tops of the socks actually come right up to my knee, stopping just shy of bunching up at the joint. On the one hand, no force on this earth could make these socks sag, which is good; on the other hand, they're a minor pain to get on. I actually had to get hosiery advice from my wife (roll the top down, put your foot into the bottom part, and then unroll the sock up your leg), which is disturbing.
More disturbing is feeling like I should be donning a tunic and heading off to a Ren Faire. But if you can get past the oddness, well, you're sure as heck not going to have baggy socks.

Excellent product. Have worn the wool version for years. Tried the Canterbury cotton version this time and find the same product quality.
- Best Socks out there

I have worn Gold Toe over the calf NYLON for about 40+ years and nothing comes close. They feel like silk and really stay up. Try finding 100% nylon anywhere, instead most sox are now cotton blends. Let's have a little choice around here. Being nylon, they do last a long time.
- Gold Toes are the best

I love Gold Toe brand socks. Their are the only brands I buy, especially the Canterbury model. I highly recommend Gold Toes!!
- socks that stay up
     By A3L4F75KMUGZ7X on 2007-03-28
socks stay up. not too thin and not too thick. comfortable. if you like above the calf you will like these. have not had long enough to see if they wear through easily or have loose stitching but so far so good.
- Happy Purchase

Excellent for the price. Have purchased expensive over-the-calf socks and been quickly disappointed. These are comfortable, well-fitting, and seem to have a long life.
- Typical excellent Gold Toe socks

What can you say? These are Gold Toe socks, always well made and comfortable.
- Great sock, get a bunch...
     By A1LFN5TXQ0B1HB on 2008-02-22
You pay extra for this sock versus the more generic brands out there. But in my opinion, the difference is well worth it. I bought a whole bunch of these socks so that I have one type of business sock... a real time saver when doing the laundry or when looking for a sock in the morning. I have found them to last a long time, with no loss in elasticity - they grip well!
- Can live without
     By A23DL2FU9AVM4 on 2008-03-27
I read the reviews before purchasing but after using the socks I've found that; they cling to your pants. When standing, pants do not slip down to your shoes, they cling to your socks. When sitting, they grab your pants and stretch your pants tightly over your knees. They socks are also very tight.
I gave them 1 star because they don't fall down as advertised, and they do cover your ankles.
I'll go back to occasionally puling up my socks.
- Great socks.

These are exceptionally comfortable, do not shrink and stay up on the leg. You can wear them year-round and stays in shape after multiple washings. I have worn Gold Toe for many years and I find them to be of the best quality without paying high prices. These are on the top of the line as far as satisfaction for me.
- great sock!

Once a year, I buy a pair of these socks for every day of the week for my husband. He throws the old pairs away (no matter what condition they are in) and I replace them with fresh. He wears them every single day. They stay up and match everything. It makes doing laundry a breeze!
