• Hot Socks !!!

  Amazon notes that these socks are "only made from the finest yarns." They mean it, too! These socks keep your feet warm; and they are very well made and last forever. I especially like the way that they are reinforced at the heel and toe for lots and lots of wear. These athletic crew socks can be worn for athletic activities but of course they could be worn for everyday routine use as well. In addition, they are mostly made of cotton but Gold Toe adds stretch nylon and a little bit of spandex. Oh sure, these socks may cost a bit more--but you get so much use out of them that these socks inevitably pay for themselves.
  
  These crew length socks also fit any shoe size between 7 and 12; therefore it is--almost--one size fits all. These socks also come in a "king size" which fits shoe sizes 12 to 16 for the big and tall customer. Excellent! The sock itself comes in white or black; but the toe area is literally made from gold colored fibers.
  
  I would not dry these socks at high temperatures. This could result in the sock becoming too loose on your foot. Eventually they will "bunch up" when you wear them and that's very uncomfortable. Dry these fine socks at a lower temperature. Then they will remain just as comfortable as ever. I know mine do!
  
  Overall, you can't go wrong buying these socks. They keep your feet extra warm during colder weather. Moreover, there is a king size for the big and tall customer as well; that size is harder to find these days. They are manufactured so well that you definitely get your money's worth. A good deal!

  This product lives up to its claims. These athletic crew socks can be worn for everyday use as well as for sports. Made of cotton, some nylon, & a tiny bit of spandex. They fit most sizes between 7-12, & larger 12-16 in black or white; the toe is made from gold colored fibers. Dry these at low temperatures just as a safety for the more delicate fibers. They will keep your feet warm in winter & since they breath your feet won't stay wet in summer temperatures. A real bargain for the price.

  Very comfortable, but the black socks like to leave little bits of thread on your feet until the first few washings (and other clothes on the first wash, so be careful)

  Guys, this is it, you've found the holy grail in socks. I've been wearing these for about 6 years and they are awesome.
  
  If you need to wear colored socks for your work, these are the best you can find. Imagine pulling on your favorite pair of athletic socks - that's what these feel like; they are plenty thick to absorb moisture and provide excellent comfort when wearing dress shoes, and look excellent. It's almost feels like cheating. I even run in mine (when nobody's looking).
  
  If you are still wearing little thin dress socks that your mommy bought you - you've just found your new man sock. I'm online buying probably my 10th pack, and one for a friend's birthday - that's how good they are. Don't let the "Cotton" description fool you into thinking they are going to lose their shape - they have 17% nylon and 1% spandex so the stretch and maintain their shape for a long time. If you have big feet like mine (size 12) DEFINTELY get the King Size - they don't have to stretch as much and will last longer.
  
  Oh, and the black fuzzies on the first wear? Get over it man.

  At its current price of $12.99 for a six-pack, these socks are a great value. For only a dollar or so more than a single Thorlo sock, you get six socks here, and they're very comfortable, though not as comfortable as Throlos.
  
  As for durability, I just got these, but Gold Toe socks seem to last about nine months from my experiences.

  I just purchased my 2nd and 3rd package of these socks (white). Threw away a dozen pair of brand new socks I recently purchased at a local well-known department store because they didn't stay in place on my feet and they slipped inside my shoes as I walked.
  
  At last, I have found Gold Toe Men's Crew socks which are completely comfortable and don't slip around. My frustration has ended.

  These socks were ordered for my husband who wears a size 13 shoe. Socks are often tight on his feet, but these aren't. He has diabetes and needs the extra sizing these offer. Great deal!

  How does one go about reviewing socks? Well, I'm no industry insider, and don't know the lexicon around sock fit and hold, sweat absorption ratio and all that.
  
  What does qualify me for this review is that i love socks as much or more than anyone. i never take them off during the day, and even wear them when i sleep. Being a tall rascal, it's impossible to find good fitting socks (i'm a size 14), even in a big city like Chicago. However, these socks fit perfectly, hold up well (so far), and as long as no one gets too close i can pass them off for dress socks at work. The toe isn't really made out of gold, but rather is some sort of Fool's Gold made of cotton, which is just as well, as I'd rather not have to worry about fending off would-be robbers all day. These sox are good most of the year, until it gets close to freezing outside, at which time i recommend staying indoors.

• I Love These Socks; Ordered More

  After receiving and wearing my first order of these socks for a while, I went back online and just ordered some more. They feel like they are of a very high quality, are very thick, and extremely comfortable.
  
  One note, if you are trying to determine size. I normally wear a size 12-13 shoe so I thought that maybe the King size would fit too large (listed as a 13-15), but they fit just right. I think they would fit a size 11 right too, but I'm not sure how a 15 would get in cause they don't stretch that much and fit me perfectly.
  
  At about two bucks a pair right now, I doubt you'll find better socks for less. I haven't.

  I am 52 years old and have have had flat feet for most of those years. It takes a special shoe and socks to make my feet "happy". Well I found the shoes about a year ago and finally found the socks to go with them about a week ago. These Gold Toe socks are the most comfortable socks that I have ever worn and I mean that in the most sincere way. I had never heard of them until I saw them (by chance) on Amazon.com. I took a chance and bought a half-dozen. I was not disappointed. I am so pleased with them that I told my wife that I'm going to buy enough to last the rest of my life. Buy em - you will not be disappointed!!!! I just wish I had found them earlier. Oh - by the way I have a job that I walk at least 2.2 miles a day 5 days a week. So believe the the durability also.
  
  
• Disappointed...

  These rated high with me for only 2 weeks. I wear these 99% of the time for work (so casual walking only) with either my NB sneakers or no-lace Timberland slip ups. The problems I have are:
  
  1. Quickly lost elasticity. Now they are a bit too loose.
  2. With minimal foot activity, socks bunch up in my shoes.
  3. Shedding yarn like crazy! All from the inside, which end up on my feet, and then on the floor or carpet. I can't help but doubt the quality of these socks. Never seen that muck pilling from socks in my life!

  Gold Toe responded to my comment submitted on their web site and pointed them to this review I wrote. They asked me to return the socks and they would replace them as defective merchandise.
  
  I received the new socks in the mail and decided to give them to my dad as I have already bought other socks.
  
  I'm surprised and happy to learn Gold Toe gives prompt attention to customer satisfaction. I applaud and appreciate their sincerity and speedy actions.
  
  Given that I can furnish no new data regarding their socks. The 1 star rating remains.

  I bought these socks for my husband a few weeks ago but have taken them over. Although they are listed as men's socks, I don't really see why they can't be women's socks. They are thick socks, so may not be suitable with certain women's shoes. But they are sensible socks that are good for sensible shoes. They are soft and comfy, stay up reasonably well. I do have to pull them up a little every so often, but they don't flop down to my ankles like socks I have had in the past. I think I may have fat calves, though.
  
  I intend to buy more of these and get rid of all of my other black socks!

  I bought a six pack of this socks expecting they would improve my old wardrove, and got much more then I expected. They are soft and very confy, fitted without a hassle, and you can hardly feel the toll on your feet after a hard day's work. I strongly recomend them, and I'm hoping to purchase another six pack very soon.

  these socks are great they dont just fall apart like the cheaper brands and they fit real well... being in the military we can only wear black socks and these are the best socks they last a real long time and are great as far as comfort is concerned the price is also a lot better than I could get elsewhere normally one pair of these socks go for about 4.95 so its a great deal for me....

  Gold Toe has been the gold standard for everyday socks for many years, and these socks do not disappoint. I was particularly happy about the high cotton content, which means it will absorb sweat. I am a woman and wear a 10.5 shoe so women's socks do not fit me, but "small" men's socks fit quite well, with lots of toe room.

  My 2 six packs got on in and I tried them out. These are perfect socks. They're the right length, thickness, feel, etc. For an average of $2/pr and free freight (>$25) you can't go wrong.
  
  I hope they last a long time but they sure look like good quality.
  
  I do notice some tiny black thread remnants between my toes after wearing them so if that bugs you then I suggest you run them thru the washing machine first.
  
  My feet are "happy campers" with these socks.

  I bought these socks understanding that they're for shoe sizes 6-12. I wear a size 10 shoe, so thought they'd be great. But I did not like them because they're way, way, way too long -- too much sock. The quality is good, solid socks ... I just didn't like that they went past my calfs. I returned them.
