MTV - Viva La Bam - The Complete First Seasonx$11.98

(59 reviews)

Best Price: $24.99 $11.98

Based on the premise of reality television, VIVA LA BAM centers on the fanatical and often extreme life of pro-skater Bam Margera and his fascination with amusement at the expense of his family and friends. With an almost contagious energetic persona, Bam is able to instigate his friends into lavishly planned tricks plotted against his loved ones. From turning his parents' house into a skate park to putting an alligator in his mother's kitchen, catastrophe and emotional abuse has never been so funny. MPN: PARD886424D - UPC: 097368864245

  • You think your parents had it rough?

    By A21B2TJBWCSK1R on 2004-10-25
No matter how bad your parents thought you were as a kid, they should thank their lucky stars that they aren't Phil and April Margera. Professional skateboarder and all-around pain in the ass, Bam Margera is the Dennis the Menace for the new millennium. After the Jackass show ended it splintered off into two strains, one of which, Viva La Bam, stars Bam and his crew (other Jackass survivors, Ryan Dunn, Raab Himself, Rake Yorn, Brandon DiCamillo) as they find new ways to torment his long-suffering parents. Bam and his gang pull all sorts of pranks and stunts to make his parents' lives a living hell. Throw in the nearly incomprehensible Don Vito (Phil's rather large brother) and you've got the makings for one of the more entertaining reality shows.

Fans will be pleased to know that all the episodes are featured gloriously uncut with all the cuss words intact! Breathe easy, parents. The uncut nastiness is limited to the language. The shameless nudity is still blurred.

There are audio commentaries for every episode by Bam, Phil, April, Ryan, Brandon, Rake, Tim and Raab. As you can imagine, these are pretty funny, chaotic tracks as Bam and co. dish on all sorts of behind-the-scenes stories. Bam, obviously, dominates these tracks, but his mom does comment quite a bit as well. Although, the glaring omission of Don Vito is unacceptable!

There are nine deleted scenes, including more footage of Bam building a skate park in his parent's house and Raab under the thrall of a hypnotist while the boys were in Las Vegas.

"Scavenger Hunt List" is the entire list of tasks that had to be accomplished from the season's climatic final episode.

"Q&A**Holes" is a bunch of text screens with the cast answering several questions not so seriously.

There is a small collection of behind-the-scenes photos.

There is also music video's for Bam's brother's band, CKY, Clutch, Turbonegro and the DiCamillo Sisters (basically Brandon, Bam and the lead singer from the Bloodhound Gang).

For such a nonsensical show there is a surprisingly amount of extras that are all done in the same flavour as the show. Even the menus capture the vibe of the show, which is a nice touch. Fans will no doubt dig this collection while all others are advised to stay far away! You may not derive any deep meaning from this show but there are worse ways to kill a Friday night.

  • AWESOME SHOW

    By A1HXP4PZYZE52M on 2004-10-15
Well im glad its coming out but I wish it would have included season 2 also. Giving us season 1 is just going to make us want the other seasons more. This is an awesome show though. Don Vito is hilarious. Bam's cool. It's neat to see someone who can get away with anything they want to do. What you'll get in this set s 8 episodes(Listed below). It's 150 minutes long. A little bit of extras. What you'll see in these episodes is Phil starving because he can't eat anything for one day, Bam and his friends stuck on an island for a day, Don Vito getting kicked out of a casino, Don Vito racing another guy on a motorized cart, a lot of cars being totally smashed, an entire skatepark/ice rink built in and outside Bam's house, AND LOT'S MORE. That's just a little of season 1. The only thing I don't get is that Wildboyz Season 1 is 25 minutes longer then this season of Viva La Bam and this set is almost 10 dollars more. Still this is a good set to own.(Below episodes listed for Season 1)

    Phil's Hell Day
Bam Hosts A Concert (don't feed Phil)
    The Family Reunion
    We're Going to Vegas!
    Three-Day Weekend
    The Christmas Episode
    April Gets Revenge
    The Scavenger Hunt

  • F*cking Sellout

    By A3713PP4MADKED on 2004-10-16
Remember the first CKY video? Remember when it was just Bam and his friends, making videos as kids, just for fun? The first three CKYs were made by the crew just for plain fun. They didn't seem to care about money. Then CKY4 came out, all in a glossy package and high quality production and such. Sure, it was great, it was hilarious, and one of my favorites, but it just seemed kind of forced. But this? "Viva La Bam"? Give me a f*cking break. I remember I actually thought Bam was cool. I wanted to be like Bam. I wore heartarams on everything (he's trying to ruin HIM!! I swear it!!!), I said "haggard" all the time, I used his stupid voice where it sounds like he's holding in a laugh all the time. I mean, LOOK AT THIS! It's so god damn forced! I'm sure the pay check makes it worth it to Bam, but to old school fans like me, we were satisfied with him just being himself-some bored, normal, every day teen, coming up in a pretty normal family, spending his days making pain-inducing videos with friends. I mean, you I could relate to that. Not the pain-inducing videos part, but the bored, normal kid part part. But this is just too much. I can understand how he might want a little money, but completely leaving behind CKY to go for this MTV s*it?? Jackass was great, but it wasn't all Bam, Bam, Bam. And look at the new Tony Hawk game!! Bam is almost THE main character! I would't be suprised if they released a Bam Margera's Pro Skater. It's just gotten out of control. I can proudly say that I have ripped all my heartagrams off and stopped all my Bam jargin, but I still also listen to HIM and CKY, but I don't go around saying they're my favorite bands. Nothing makes me sicker then seeing HIM t-shirts at Hot Topic, right next to Viva La Bam of Don't Feed Phil shirts. I remember when I found out about HIM and loved them, but now, it's basically if you like Bam, you have to like HIM. And what's up with these kids liking every band Bam likes? I mean, if you like a few, that's cool, but I seen Amazon lists titled "Best CDs Ever" or something like that, and what do I see on the list? HIM, CKY, Turbonegro (they suck), The 69 Eyes (they suck bad), Cradle of Filth, Dimmu Borgir, Bloodhound Gang (I don't like 'em, but they're pretty funny), Hardcore Superstar (they suck), and so on. Be yourself. If you want to watch Viva La Bam, cool, but don't f*cking imitate Bam like I used to. As for me, I get sick every time I watch Viva La Bam.

Viva La Brandon DiCamillo-now THAT would be funny.

  • Dennis the Menace Meets Omen

    By A29Y34ALWJUGB5 on 2006-01-19
Viva La Bam is constantly and unfairly being compared to Jackass. They are similar, but in very small ways, and the one that stands out the most is the fact that Bam Margera is in this as well. They don't do the same masochistic stunts you'd find in Jackass. There's rarely ever any forced vomiting or cruelty to animals (like in Wild Boys). What Bam does is torment his surprisingly tolerant parents. This, the first volume, contains the first eight episodes of the show (an entire season) plus a disc of special features:

Episode 1: Phil's Hell Day/Bam's Skate Park: they couldn't have picked a better episode to start the season.

Episode 2: Don't Feed Phil: Bam does everything in his power to deny Phil food for a day.

Episode 3: Family Reunion: Bam's attention turns to his extended family, and you begin to realize that Bam isn't as crazy as his family.

Episode 4: Viva Las Vegas: Rabb gets a mail order bride, and April and Phil celebrate their anniversary. Vito snaps.

Episode 5: Paint Phil Blue & Other Stories: Bam paints Phil, steals April's car, and dig a tunnel into Vito's house.

Episode 6: Very Merry Margera Christmas: Bam celebrates Christmas with friends in the only way he knows how.

Episode 7: April's Revenge: Bam's gets what's coming to him yet April, the person responsible, doesn't realize what she's got herself into.

Episode 8: Scavenger Hunt: Bam and friends tore all of West Chester in order to score points in a crazy scavenger hunt.

The bonus in this collection, though, comes in the special features disc. This includes a heap of deleted scenes which are funnier than anything you can find in the series, if a little more gross at times. It has other things as well, but the deleted scenes are where to be when you pop this into your DVD player.

Though still headed by a bunch of jerks, Viva La Bam isn't nearly as controversial as Jackass or even the CKY Trilogy, though it's equally as funny as both. These DVDs contain some simple laughs that are, at the very least, guaranteed, something that's needed in our world today. Pick this up if you liked Jackass or Wildboys, or are a fan of skateboarding.

  • The Ultimate Reality Show ...........

    By A1X21GIGSW7QG0 on 2004-09-17
Listen I am in my 50s and I just wish I could have gotten away with one tenth of the tricks Bam plays on his parents when I was young. His parents are sweethearts to allow this to happen to them, though his mom (April) seems to be on the borderline of having a heart attack or two. This is the ultimate reality show, Bam does it his way and nobody else is going to tell him differently. Go Bam ! Head On !

  • THE FUNNIEST SHOW... EVER!
    By AJTYN2L8T5FER on 2004-11-28
This show is the best reality show ever. It features stunts, crazyness, and humor similar to Beavis & Butthead. It's a must-have DVD for anybody who enjoys the show on MTV.

  • This is the best. Really.
    By A2UKCL219Z2UNA on 2004-11-22
What is the matter with you people who say this isn't funny?! I am a fan of anything and everything Bam Margera and his psychotic ensemble do. These DVDs are absolutely hysterical. Even my DAD laughed. My dad doesn't laugh. I watch the first DVD without commentary, then with commentary, and then the second DVD. I've done this 8 full times in the past 3 weeks. Maybe I'm a slightly unstable loser with too much time, but so what? This is funny. I recommend you all watch it. Because you'll laugh harder than ever before.

  • BAM SUCKS!!!!!
    By A10HHM2684NZD2 on 2005-09-02
The most annoying show on MTV, that's saying alot because there are alot of annoying shows on MTV but Viva La Bam tops them all!! All the pranks they pull on their family was funny at first but after a while it was just lame and predictable. The BEST show ever on MTV will always be JACKASS followed closely Tom Green and WILDBOYZ.

  • A Must Have!
    By A2RFC9G88QHG0H on 2005-08-09
I've never laughed so hard. You see it on MTV, but unedited is the best!! You have to buy it!!

  • Viva la Bam rocks
    By A3GZWOKN9T66G4 on 2004-11-13
I may not be a big fan of Bam himself, but I love Bran, Ryan and all the rest. This DVD is pretty awesome, and i love Sporadic Movement (by cKy) and The Mob Goes Wild (by Clutch), so those were nice choices for the videos. People say Bam is a sellout, well, he still hates MTV. my friend courtney went to the Mall of America cKy conert (which is an upcoming VLB episode), and she overheard Joe Frantz (producer of VLB and director of the cKy videos), and he said "screw those MTV [...], they can go **** themselves, Bam does whatever he wants, screw them". Bam maybe given a script, but this is his job, so he better do it before he gets no paycheck. how else would he support his family anyway? what do you expect? Bam and the crew are still themselves, if you dont like it, go [...] Good Charolete.

anyway, this DVD is still great, I highly reccomend.

  • Viva La Bam is the S_it
    By A2S8BDDDBDOADK on 2005-07-21
Bam Margera kicks ass in this TV series and his crew CKY.
You have to get this DVD or you'll be sorry. Viva La Bam
is way better than Wildboyz, Punk'd, Pimp my Ride- which is gay.
Wildboyz is ok along with Punk'd, but Pimp My Ride is
just F*ckin gay. Back to VLB which is a must-get DVD.
They mess with Don vito, and his parents which is pritty cool.
It contains all 8 episodes from season 1.
g2g and you need to get this kick-ass DVD.

  • are you guys serious?
    By on 2005-07-25
Viva la bam is not the worst show on tv but it's pretty mindless. It would be a little funnier if what Bam did was real. But it's all stage. Your paying money that could be given to your bills or something useful to watch a guy who's really rich get richer by doing stupid things that aren't even real! I got one word:CRACKBABIES!!!!!!!!!!! Don Vito does make me laugh though.

  • What a classic!
    By AVTVGFPCE0GI8 on 2006-10-04
This is one funny dvd! I haven't laughed so much since I don't know when! What a crazy gang, and Don Vito is hilarious - I laugh everytime I see him!! If you like these kind of shows this is a must have!

  • I DO BELIEVE HE'S A SELLOUT
    By A39HGYJOJUJO2Y on 2004-11-07
old cky2k n cky3 days are over now... pitty. Viva la bam is fun but so predictable and prepared. OK, he's smart n lucky.. mtv gives him thousand of dollars and he can do whatever he wants... And what about his newest fans? they suck n copy BAM (cky, him, turbonegro...). Please kids be yourself!

  • GREAT/ sellout?
    By A6WXO2W40D3YH on 2004-11-09
ok....before i get onto my review what i want to say is that i do beleive that sweet cheeks "watty420" and pacopicopiedro are both losers. first off it sounds like sweet cheeks watty 420 is jealous, at least pacoblahblahblahpiedro gave it 3 stars, watty420...what i would like to say is...obviously hes going to get a show on mtv, if someone gave u a contract or something for the show your doing you wouldnt take it? hes not any more a selout then anyone else is. your more of a sellout then he would ever be, seriously, your just gonna stop being his fan and hate him because he got a good show on tv? no one even knew who he was until jackass and viva la bam were out. these are what got him his fame, these didnt make him a selout. i could go on but....

This dvd is great, i think this show is the best show on tv right now, i think its 10 times funnier then wild boys, chappeles show, and its about as funny as jackass and at times funnier. i dont think any show could come out right now and be better then this show.

  • BULLSH**
    By A2LZOWBPNU4FA8 on 2004-11-10
UNCENSORED MY A$$. MOST OF THE EPISODES ARE STILL CENSORED. WHAT A RIP OFF, I COULD HAVE RECORDED MY OWN DVD FOR ALL OF THIS. DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY, TAPE IT.

  • This show is funny no matter what
    By AWL3XDTYDCT8M on 2004-11-13
If you are a fan of Bam then you should like this. Censored or not Bam is hilarious.
By the way, Pacopicopiedro, it is not very accurate to say all new fans suck. You shouldn't hate on Bam's new fans, they are still fans just like you. A real fan would be happy that Bam has been getting so much recognition. Hating the people who recently discoverd Bam, is pretty dumb because at one point you too were a "new" fan.
You can't just assume all of Bam's recently acquired fans suck. I'm sure a lot of older fans suck too. I'm guessing you're an older fan, and you kinda sound like you suck.
    Hater.

  • CKY this is not
    By A2GWFIHB1RGX on 2004-12-14
While the crew from CKY and Jackass are in this show, it is by no stretch CKY or Jackass. Its totally scripted, rehearsed pranks that are so trasparent. Its really sad actually. Out of a 30 minute show, there maybe a 10 second clip that is somewhat amusing, but thats pushing it.

If you are a fan of Jackass or CKY, stick with those DVD's. Don't waste your time. Pick up the CKY set and also check out Steve-O's DVD's. You will be happy you did.

  • Hidden Stuff
    By A1GNFCYQQRMJYQ on 2005-03-22
First of all I wanna say I love this show, and the DVD is great.

Hidden Stuff: To access Bam's grossest moments, on Bonus DVD enter Music Videos and press right on your remote control, this will highlight a previously invisable viva la bam logo, press enter and you get some of the gross moments of the season.

For bloopers of the into to the DVD ('Welcome to the DVD for season 1...' etc.) on Bonus DVD, enter Deleted Scenes, press right, this will show the same viva la bam logo, press enter.

And incase you didn't know, the Seasons 2 & 3 DVD comes out April 12th, you can pre-order it now.

  • Mindless. Repeat after me, "mind-lessssssssss"
    By A10WOHX7AOZ8MU on 2005-07-12
    Ever heard of hedonism?
For the sake of entertainment, and at the expense of our human dignity and intellectual potential. Ugh.
I'm not sure where this falls exactly on a list, but I know I could think of at least 500,000 better things to do than watch this or any "Jackass" stunts.
Given the embarrassingly numerous 5-star ratings (which imply "best ever" by the way) you would assume the movie is flawless. Is it just me or does barf-inducing, gross-out, disturbing behavior not qualify as a flaw these days?

  • Nothing a good @$$-wooping wouldn't cure for the lil punk
    By A3H3OKW4NDOYLQ on 2006-01-29
Oh my god I HATE this show. If I was this guy's dad I would have whooped his @$$ a loooong time ago. I've never liked Bam even back from his "Jackass" days. If you're a fan of the genre however, I recommend Wild Boyz with Chris Pontius and Steve-o. Sure, they're just as stupid, but at least they don't make you want to stick them square in the jaw every time you see them. Total trash and by buying or watching this you support the makings of even more trash...boycott.

  • haters
    By A3JNO3U33QEKIS on 2004-11-09
Wow, Watty 420 do you know have anything better to do then sit online and find the Viva La Bam DVD so you can diss on it??? who the hell cares what you think?? We all have out own opinions and if you don't like Bam anymore then get over it and find somewhere else to complain. Also if you are going to stop liking him because hes a "sellout" that's lame because he's just making money. I agree with nirvna man when he says taht you'd do it too because I know almost everyone would because we are greedy people. Ok enough about you ... Viva la Bam is hilarious and I am so happy the DVD is finally out. I've watched every episode of the show and not once has it let me down. Bam is so funny and the stuff he pulls is so great.

  • Blah
    By A2PQTFJQVKYW77 on 2004-12-17
The things that happen in the show are humerous...but unlike what many people are writing, Bam does NOT pull any of this stuff or come up with any of these pranks. MTV writers do...it's just Bam's acting that makes it funny...think of it as a sitcom, not a reality show.

  • Thank Bam...
    By A3Q68VPGZAG0SJ on 2005-03-25
I love show, "Viva La Bam". Since the first episode...I was hooked. I was so awed that they can do everything I've wished I could do. Now, unlike everyone else, before "VLB"...I never even heard of Bam Margera, Don Vito, Phil, Ape...etc. But quickly I felt like I was part of the crew. I think the best thing about this show, is that while watching...you feel as if you were part of the show itself. I guess its cause they look at the camera, and include the audience.

A purchase of this DVD is totally worth the money. I wouldn't care if the DVD was like $50, I'd still buy it. The deleted scenes are great...the special feature DVD is worth the price as is.

    Have a Bam Day

  • Viva La Bam rocks!
    By on 2005-06-28
Bam and his crew are hilarious as they take you through 8 awesome episodes. Episodes like Bam's skatepark, Don't feed Phil, and the scavenger hunt are worth the money itself. Plus the bonus DVD extras make this Dvd the best. EVER!

  • Viva La Bam
    By A384ZCATGJ8G56 on 2005-07-06
See where the chaos started with the first ever season of Viva La Bam. Jackass star Bam Margera went off on his own to make his very own show. But I highly doubt he thought it would be such a success. Skateboarders and young men everywhere look up to this man for doing "whatever the f*ck he wants," and they have plenty reason to. If you've seen Jackass, it is an extended version of Bam torturing his parents, Ape and Phil, and screwing with his friends, and just all around completely raising hell. I have been a viewer ever since the first season, and have yet to be disappointed. Buy this dvd and you won't be let down, I assure you.

  • Very entertaining show! A must for anyone!
    By ALG3BXK0FP8M5 on 2005-03-24
I really enjoy watching this show on MTV. It is hillarious and there is something new to laugh at with every single episode that comes on. No two episodes are ever the same. I gurantee you that anyone who watches an episode of this great show can say that they hated it. I'm sure anyone who watches this will find something that they like in it. My 100% gurantee!

  • This DVD is vulcan great!
    By A3B8DU6G7KO9YG on 2005-05-06
I was very pleased with this DVD. They put in great bonus material and best of all there was great commentary on every episode. Even though I had already seen all the episodes on MTV it was definately worth purchasing for all the extras. I love Bam and the CKY crew but most of all I love Don Vito.

  • Look mom I pooped in the sink!
    By A3STFVPM8NHJ7B on 2005-11-04
The show is funny the first time you see it. The series is the same stuff over and over. Bam and his crew make his parents life miserable by doing really annoying stunts. They love picking on Vito because you have no idea what he mumbles about. Bam and his crew laugh about it like they were in boys watching a puberty video in grade school. I cant believe people still watch it. One epsiode and you've seen them all. Not great TV, but what you expect from MTV?
