Framed in a matte, pearl-colored plastic, this wall clock measures 14 inches in diameter and looks most at home hanging in an office or business setting. However, this clock’s claim to fame is precision time-keeping and the fact that it never needs to be set. The clock has a built-in antenna system that receives signals from the WWVB radio transmitter in Fort Collins, Colorado, which is in turn is regulated by the atomic clock. Once you install the battery and choose one of four U.S. time zones, the clock automatically sets to the accurate time in hours, minutes, and seconds, and continues to adjust itself six times daily. This low-maintenance clock even automatically adjusts for daylight savings time, so you never need to remember to spring ahead or fall back. This radio-controlled clock is covered by a 1-year warranty and runs on one AA battery (not included). --Cristina Vaamonde

Works in New Hampshire By ATS2855497V0I on 2006-10-09
I've bought two of these atomic clocks. The first, a 12" wood framed model, soon stopped keeping accurate time and started acting unpredictably. The second, this model, has been on my wall for a week and is keeping good time after an easy setup: insert battery, push EST button.
I am nicking it a star because it makes a noticeable tick sound in a quiet room, making it inappropriate for a bedroom.
[Update: The clock has functioned well for over a year, with one battery change.]
It didn't last a month. By AJ1PJMZ7L6SB3 on 2006-12-14
I purchased this as a present. Less than a month later, I went to wrap it, and found that most of the face of the clock had come unglued from its backing. There seems to be a quality control problem at the LaCrosse factory. I contacted the LaCrosse customer service satff about the problem and they wanted me to pay for shipping for warranty repair even though it was new. Fortunately I bought it through Amazon and they were responsive enough to pay for its return. Don't think I'll ask for a replacement.
Good Looking Clock By A1C6ZJNWKYK485 on 2007-01-03
This clock looks great, but didn't "sync" with the radio signal after waiting overnight. I had to set it manually. There were no clear directions on how to set it manually... it can be done, but there should be an easier way to do it. Honestly, I have no way of knowing if it ever got the radio signal. Other atomic clocks in my house work with the signal, we'll see what happens when daylight savings time comes around again. Otherwise, it keeps great time and looks good.
Update 5/2008 This clock eventually did sync with the radio signal. It has reverted to daylight savings time twice when it shouldn't have for NO reason, but within a day or two did go back to the correct time. Overall, still happy, but the little problems are annoying.
Good, but not as good as i thought By A1XC8C88758N25 on 2005-11-01
I have this clock. It doesn't receive signal as well as the digital ones (no hands), and it's a pain to set it manually because it only advance by minutes. But once it gets in sync, it works like a charm. If you don't care about the elegance of an analog clock, buy a digital one. If you do, this is a good deal. Fry's has it for at least $20 for a smaller size.
Very disappointed! By A3SW6U93SHYBKA on 2007-01-09
CHEAP! Paper backing warped in the humid weather. Clock did not set correctly. I sent it back for a refund.
- Looks nice, works well
     By A2FGVEB13YQRDU on 2006-02-02
Have had it for a couple weeks so far. Setup was a snap. Immediately picked up a signal and set itself. Have checked it periodically against NIST time. Has remained accurate to within seconds (so far). The rim is a dull silver that nicely picks up ambient colors. The mechanism protrudes from the back so the clock sits about an inch or so from the wall.
- What's not to like?
     By A3D4T3X09HX6YT on 2006-02-04
Good quality. FAST Amazon service (as usual). Great price.
I manually set the clock a few minutes slow and left it alone. By the next morning, it was correct to the very second. (I am a time nut). What's not to like?
- Takes 4-5 days to 'automatically' adjust Daylight Savings
     By A3A7MJ12NEL15L on 2007-03-15
unbelievable, but true. you have to wait 4 or 5 days for this 'atomic' clock to adjust to daylight savings. during that time, you have to put up with having the wrong time on your clock. Here is their explanation..

- La Crosse Replaced Clocks with Bad DST
     By A14214T95U8JVN on 2007-03-17
The face is made of paper and is poorly glued on causing ripples and warping.
Although under normal cirumstances it receives a signal and adjusts to the signal properly, IT DOES NOT ADJUST FOR DST, thus making the clock virtually useless now. If you live in other time zones other then EST, you could at least choose a different time zone to compensate; if you live in the EST time zone you are SOL. Other than the DST issue clock has been very accurate.
Update: La Crosse sent out new clocks to replace the ones that did not adjust for DST because of the new date changes. Any company that does this is tops in my book. Changing rating to four stars.
- Lacrosse Technologies Equals Hideous Service
     By A21ZY23JQ8H5FU on 2006-01-29
We have a Model 2315 weather station from Lacrosse Technologies that worked for us for a couple of days, and then stopped working. We tried calling their help line, beginning 1/20/06, and it's true they tried to call us back 1/24/06, but I was unable to take the call at that moment. I called back a couple of times that same day and have yet to hear back from them. Pretty pitiful service! I tell anyone who's interested not to buy anything from Lacrosse Technologies.
One reason I'm so irate is that their help line seems to be designed to infuriate their customers. In the early stages of a call, the caller is given the option of leaving a message or waiting for the next available service person. Then, after investing maybe ten minutes of one's valuable time waiting, it cuts you off and forces you to leave a message (which might be answered a couple of days later, but likely not).
- Looks like a Miracle
     By AP2OSNWTJS9EL on 2006-04-18
Opened the clock, inserted the battery and in 2 minutes voila the time set itself correctly. Worked like a charm. My kid and wife kept looking at is surprised and shocked to see a clock move itself. This is a great device for someone like me who has a 16 foot vaulted ceiling in my bedroom. The clock is hanging at 13 foot above the floor. The great advantage is I don't have to carry the ladder upstairs to change the time every six months. Phew one less clock to chage the time every time when the time changes. The color of the clock says Silver and I will not agree with that. But it looks very cool though.
- This clock is wacky
     By A1Z67I4KAH1V4N on 2006-10-30
I've had two of these 12" clocks for 2 years now. I love how big they are. Very easy to see even with the glasses off. However, they get a little screwy around daylight savings time changes. I've gone through 4 time changes with them now. The first few times this happened I thought it was MY mistake. However, it happened again today when the time changed and I caught it in the act! In fact, it's doing it right now as I write (at 10:00 p.m. Sunday the day of changing back to standard time).
This happens every 6 months when the time changes. One clock will update to the new time without any problem but the other one won't. Then sometime later in the day - like 10-20 hours later, the first clock, the one that updated okay, will suddenly un-update and revert back to the old time!
It's really infuriating. Today when I woke up, one of the clocks had updated and the other one hadn't. All day long I relied on the clock that had updated. Then while I was out it suddenly reverted back to daylight savings time. I didn't know this had happened so when I got back, I still relied on it, but now it was an hour off. It totally messed up getting together with a friend.
Just as I was writing this I happened to notice the hands swirling around, in update mode, and it stopped back on the correct time. So, it's very weird. It has now changed time THREE TIMES today, instead of just the one time it should have changed. Once during the night to correctly set to standard time. Then sometime in the evening it incorrectly reverted back to daylight savings time, then a couple of hours later it correctly switched back to standard time - which is what it should have been on since last night.
The other clock usually updates by the next day. It's strange that the second clock NEVER updates on the day the time changes, but always the next day. It's almost as if having two clocks somehow strains the radio signal and it can only do one clock at a time!
These clocks work fine starting a couple of days after we change the time, but the two days after any time change are always iffy. WATCH YOUR CLOCK during time changes!
- back paper warps badly. New DST time is not working
     By AP97WSNCOOZFN on 2007-03-16
Bad quality and not bad (or lie) info. New DST is not working. Doesn't matter how many days you are waiting.
- Outdoor clock?
     By A32BTHD9BE35BH on 2006-10-12
This seemed like a pretty slick idea, and was a pretty clock. All it needs to do is let us know that our stomachs aren't lying, that it really is near lunch.
I set it near our front (glass) door and it apparently found a signal as it had changed time by itself and was spot on. So I hung it in our office (no window). Two days latter we had a thunderstorm one night. Apparently that can interfere with the signal. Rather than sit tight and wait for a fresh signal, this thing was off by an odd amount of time, like an hour and 27 min by the next morning.
I set it manually, and today it's off again by about an hour.
The instructions to reset which I got from Tech Support were not less than 7 steps long and included a detailed disertation on what type of battery, and what it's expiration should be.
Man, that's a lot of work just to verify what my stomach knows is true. For $25, and the packaging being gone, this is in the dumpster. I'll get a regular clock that only keeps time to a couple of minutes a month....but takes a month to show the error.
- This clock does not keep the correct time
     By A29LSGPYZI2UWJ on 2006-11-28
When I purchased this clock, the directions made a specific point that, really, all you need to do is put a battery into the clock and it will begin working over the next 24 hours. It did begin working, but when faced with daylight savings time (east coast), it would keep the regular eastern standard time. (so for 6 months+ out of the year, the time is wrong!!) What's with that?? A clock that cannot give me the correct time is worthless!
- Great when it works
     By A25O8ZBNV3EAQ9 on 2007-03-31
I bought this in 11/2006. It automatically adjusted and kept precise time out of the box. That is until DST this year. It is 1 hour behind and will not adjust. They've issued some "emergency" instructions on their website that try to fix the issue but they don't work. Also, they say wait 5 days before contacting them if the clock doesn't adjust right away. 5 days to update? I have an atomic weather station and had no problems with it adjusting automatically to DST. Stay away from this model. It doesn't work for DST and most likely never will.
- Looks nice, but time is way off!
     By A2URPTCHVIADTN on 2007-06-10
I bought 3 of these clocks 3 months ago, and 2 of the 3 do not work at all. As I'm looking at one of the clocks right now, it is one hour behind. Last night, it was 20 minutes behind. Another clock just started this morning going around and around non-stop, making this clicking sound. These problems started about 2 months ago, and I thought it was temporary, because of the daylights savings time change, but the problems continued. I've tried changing the batteries and have also reset it several times. Nothing helps. I really wanted them to work because they look great, but I'm afraid I'm gonna have to give up and get some other clocks. Don't buy it.
- sleek design and completely self setting and maintaining!
     By A29THQFOAB9U4U on 2006-06-18
I've had my La Crosse Tech Radio Controlled Atomic Wall Clock for 3 years now and I love it! Simply insert the battery, select the correct time zone on the back control panel, and then the clock does the rest. No programming needed, no need to even read the enclosed directions, this unit is fool proof easy. There's never any concern whether you have the correct time, and if other clocks in your home are slow or fast, you can set them all according to your La Crosse Atomic Wall Clock. This is a quality product, maintenance free, and very sleek design to blend with most any decor.
RECOMMENDED!
- Nice Clock !
     By A119UEAT1Y5OVJ on 2006-07-23
This is the first atomic clock that I've ever purchased. After reading all the reviews I thought I would give it a try. I took it out of the box and put the battery in just like everyone said...For some strange reason it didn't move at all even after an hour so I got worried..Then I went back to the instruction again and realized that I have to leave it at a place where it is six feet from any electronic or computer. I immediately placed it in a room near the window where there is no electronic device..and Voila..it reset itself after 30 minutes..I guess it was searching for the signal...Anyway, I like the idea that I don't have to worry about accuracy..and change the time during daylight savings...
- Neat Clock but...........................
     By A2VD2MVF9MYU3L on 2006-11-10
I think i got this clock pretty cheap that's why i bought it. It is pretty neat that it sets it self automatically . i never have to worry about it until recently. i got this clock maybe 2-3 months ago. its now 11-9-06. i just notice that the Sec. hand is not moving anymore. I replaced the battery with a fresh one thinking it might be the battery but its not..the other hands are still keeping time though. its odd. its a good clock very clear and readable. i only gave it 3 stars cause in only 3-4 months it has already sort of broke.
- Must have for your high ceiling house.
     By A3DAS42VRO66SN on 2006-12-12
I have 11 feet high ceiling in my house, and trust me, it is very troublesome to change the time whenever time changes. With these clocks, you will never need to change time on these clocks anymore. I bought 2 of these, 1 for my 82 year-old father.
- Everybody is laughing!
     By A2U41VENFHI292 on 2007-03-23
When I bought this clock, everybody in my house is admiring. Auto Daylight saving, clear finish, precise time etc. Now everybody is laughing out loud. My clock is an hour late than other clocks. I live in EST. Don't know how to reset manually either. Buy this clock at your own risk.
- Unfortunately It Simply Doesn't Work
     By A2NMNDNZA1N9L on 2007-03-24
I had a digital atomic clock from another company, and I bought 2 of these because I like the concept of not having to set the time, and this clock looks very attractive. But unfortunately, it just doesn't accept daylight savings time. I put the battery in, I get a good radio signal, the clock sets itself, but always 1 hour slow. So 2 brand new clocks can only be used during Eastern Standard time. I admit they do keep exact time then.
- Daylight Savings Time Nightmare!
     By AUKPIJQ6XAB40 on 2007-04-10
I don't blame the manufacturer, but U.S. Congress, but still...
The clock has an internal computer chip which would not recognize Daylight Savings Time at the correct date.... meaning either the beginning or the end of DST. There was going to be such a delay to get a new chip and/or clock that we just returned the clock. Disappointed.
- They are okay
     By A2Q8TSHFUEGYAG on 2007-04-12
Bought 4. All of them had problem with 2007 DST change. 1 remains unadjusted on 4/11/2007. Might have to RMA it. The clock face is a piece of vinyl, which is curling up around the edge.
- Treat yourself to accuracy and convenience
     By A1JWSDDIH5Z7DV on 2006-07-03
One thing which mystifies me is how few people have embraced the latest in modern clock technology: radio controlled clocks which keep exact time by automatically synchronizing themselves with signals broadcast from the incredibly accurate U.S. atomic clock in Boulder Colorado. Such clocks are not only always accurate to a fraction of a second, they also automatically set themselves to and from daylight savings and standard time as appropriate. Furthermore, such clocks are typically quite reasonable in price. Yet while most Americans have, for example, the latest in modern cordless phones and cell phones, relatively few have the accuracy and convenience of radio controlled clocks. This model is just one of many styles sold by Amazon and other vendors. Try one and I think you'll be glad you did. My wife and I have several of these clocks throughout our house and take accurate time for granted, no what time system is in effect.
- Great Crisp Large Atomic Clock
     By AQ00O22NZBCQB on 2006-07-03
This is a wonderful clock. No need to set and adjusts automatically for daylight time. One tiny concern is the clock has trouble receiving signal inside a large building in the downtown. Laying it close to the window takes care of it, but it would be nice to have a better sensitive antenna for the time signal. Thanks, LaCrosse, I have only about half a dozen of your clocks. And keep up the good work.
- Very Good Wall Clock
     By ANIED5SPCP6VN on 2006-08-19
It is very nice and useful wall clock, it is also compliant with 4 regional time options. Very easy to use, only push a bottom on the back side. No need to adjust time.
Very wonderful clock- La Crosse Atomic.
- This clock works well
     By A35YI266FMTI22 on 2006-11-10
This clock set itself within a few minutes and has worked well for the few months that we've had it. I loved not having to climb up and get it down to re-set it for daylight savings time!
Just so you know, this clock is not silver in color (I thought it was from the picture). It's more of a pearlized off-white.
- Amazing Clock
     By AS61WM9YM81F on 2007-01-09
Far more attractive than it appears and is just amazing in it's ability to set itself.
